Answer: White, left-wing English speakers.

Question: Who doesn’t use the term “Latinx”?
Answer: Latinos and Latinas.

Per a Pew Research Poll conducted in December 2019, only 3% of Hispanics use the term “Latinx.” Three percent! You are more likely to find a Whole Foods customer wearing a MAGA hat than you are to find an Hispanic who identifies as Latinx.

However, for the population it is meant to describe, only 23% of U.S. adults who self-identify as Hispanic or Latino have heard of the term Latinx, and just 3% say they use it to describe themselves, according to a nationally representative, bilingual survey of U.S. Hispanic adults conducted in December 2019 by Pew Research Center.

“Latinx” is a white supremacist term used by racist, left-wing Americans to marginalize Spanish speakers and to disparage their culture.

The term “Latinx” itself is overtly racist. Not only is Latinx not a Spanish word, it can’t even be pronounced in Spanish. How offensively ~~paternalistic~~ ~~maternalistic~~ mxternxlistic(?) is it of liberal, white Americans to rip the identity from brown-skinned people, and then impose on them a new identity, which is an unpronounceable collection of consonants…and THEN demand that Hispanics identify by this new, unpronounceable English word.

One of the embarrassing bigotries of left-wing, monolingual, white supremacists is that they are oblivious to the fact that the entire Spanish language is gendered. Because of their racist ignorance of the Spanish language, they don’t understand that the gender of a noun is indicated by the definite article (“el” / “la” ) or the indefinite article (“un” / “una” ) more so than if a word ends in “a” instead of “o”.

American lefties have changed exactly one Spanish word to gender-neutral, and with that done, they now demand that Spanish speakers somehow converse like weird, left-wing English-speakers and remove all gender from their speech. This simply isn’t possible in Spanish. So, in effect left-wing white supremacists are shaming Spanish language speakers for using their native language. I can’t believe such ugly bigotry exists in 21st Century America.

In addition, by imposing the transsexual term “Latinx” on all Hispanics, left-wing whites are asserting that all Hispanics are transsexuals, which could be culturally insulting. A liberal, white American woman may think she is complimenting an Hispanic man by telling him that she sees him as no different than a castrated cross-dresser, but he probably won’t take it as a compliment. But to be fair, most of the men in the orbit of woke white women would be flattered to be thought of that way.

What’s really unsettling is all the woke, white men sexualizing Hispanic men as transsexuals by using the term “Latinx.” I absolutely do not care what anyone does in his or her (or xir) bedroom, but just because some woke, white people fetishize Hispanics as transsexuals, it doesn’t mean that everyone else has to use that weird language. And it’s certainly not fair to Hispanics to have to adopt an all-new identity to satisfy the fetishes of woke white people.

Like other racist slurs that have been retired from polite society, it is time for “Latinx” to be retired.

So what? While I agree that this is hugely indicative of a problem, it is not indicative of the problem you're implying.

The problematic aspect of this observation is the internalized colonialism and racism of Latinx people in the Americas. They reject this neutral language because they have been reared in an environment of patriarchal colonialism and inculcated with its perverse language and modalities.

The greatest problem of any revolutionary movement is always the retrograde population that clings to the old ways despite how much those old ways damage them and prevent their progress. This is no different. The rejection of anticolonial and antiracist language (and ideals) by the Latinx population is a temporary effect of internalized and externally-imposed negativity and oppression of the wider supremacist culture. This too shall pass as we continue arcing toward progress and justice.

Growing up my family and I always self-referentially refereed to ourselves as "Hispanic" or "Mexican" or sometimes even "Chicano" (as Americans of Mexican descent) but never once "Latino." I consciously remember when the term started creeping in during my teenage years - brought to AZ by California liberals and the magazine <i>Latina</i>. I think the term is both too broad and too narrow. If referring to those of broadly Latin culture then it should include the Italians and other Romance peoples too. If just speaking of those of Latin-America, why group them all together - what do I have in common with the Portuguese speaking Brazilians? I'm Hispanic - and more narrowly "Meskin."

This drives me bonkers, too. Yes, I know that Covid can be dangerous, and if you have certain underlying conditions it can be extremely dangerous. For a relatively healthy normal person, it's not a death sentence.

I don't know anyone who died from Covid. I do know someone who died from getting his first Covid vaccine, and no one can say it wasn't from that. He had a stroke the same day he got the vaccine, which left him paralyzed on the left side, and then died a day or two later. 73 years old and healthy until the shot.

You won't read about it here, it was in Europe.
