Quarantine Cafe: Cat Music Critic Edition

trumpstatement

Abused pit bull hates men, but learns to love his new dad.

Kittens think this other kitten, who just happens to be slightly larger than they are, is their mommy.

Rescue pit bull helps autistic boy start opening up and talking.

Hold me back, hold me back!

This cat does not like any music, except for one band:

Womp womp.

Your honor, I would like to be recognized by my Truename.

Actually, you're better off hitting the value menu and getting a double hamburger customized with double lettuce, double pickles, and double onions (and a tomato if you feel like paying the custom fee) - add a clementine from home, and you get a nice veg and protein meal for under 400 calories and $2 from the Arches, assuming they don't spit in your meal for doing this custom order...but if they are giving me a screen and making me my own cashier and giving me options, well, they get what they get...and I am glad my local place (on the few times I go) has open sight lines to the back...

She was really into some Radiohead (not Creep but the more ethereal/artsy stuff) and really like French electronica band Air. Cats who get mental stimulation have way more cognition than they are given credit for. In a few million years, they may be the dominant species (once they learn to change their own litter boxes). I always thought it'd be kind of cool to have a tail. It would come in "handy" and you could hold tails with your sweetie.

David Bowie and Brian Eno did a song, an anthem really, back in Bowie's German days, it's called Heroes.

Bowie recorded it sung in English, and in German, too. I prefer the German one.

Remember Crowded House, the band? Here is Neil Finn of Crowded House doing his acoustic version of Heroes.

The paste did not work. Just go to YouTube and search Neil Finn Heroes.

If you have always wanted to play guitar, but haven't really tried it yet, do this song as your start. It is easy to play, no hard fingerings. All you need is the rhythm, and that is the key.

377 Duke, Hamas is strutting its Iranian support, not being coy about it. Televised address by top dawg praising Iran for providing weapons and support.

So the Gulfies - and Egypt, of course, and the portion of the Jordanian regime that is rational - now have additional reasons to want the Palestinians, or at least Hamas, crushed.

Of course while this is going on the US is in the process of unleashing Iran, rescuing the regime, destroying the sanctions stranglehold, all purportedly to get back into a nuclear deal that Iran hasn't complied with and which is worthless anyway. Oh - and restoring US $ to Palestinians via UN laundering.

One of the two big, and completely foreseen, catastrophes of these idiots getting into power.

Not only that, but he lost functional command of the Enterprise no fewer than 13 times in 3 years. (I counted one day while bored at work). How in hell does a Captain lose command of a planet-destroying weapon over a dozen times and retain command?

Well look at all the other Starfleet Captains that he was compared to. He never became near Godlike and attempted to take over the galaxy. He never went down to a planet and sided with the commies. Kirk is Ulysses S. Grant.

I paid to fly on a B-29 Sunday evening, in Houston. The flight info email I received the day before had lots of "Masks are required on-board" statements. On the flight line, no crewmember wore a mask or said anything to me about putting on one before climbing aboard. The mask non-insanity was very refreshing! The flight and ground crew is from Kansas.

Dude what about Captain Janeway? Female captain gets her own ship and first thing she does is break it and get everyone lost. Im thinking Starfleet doesnt have a very high bar here for captains.

My longstanding theory is that after ST VI, with the discovery that Starfleet had conspired to continue the Cold War with the Klingon Empire, the Human worlds of the Federation went through a major leftwing political shift. The resultant new Federation government purged Starfleet of any officer deemed to militaristic, or competent. Around the same time, the development of the replicator meant that the government could provide a universal basic income, of sorts, but required massive amounts of raw material and energy, and created an underclass. So the Federation started gobbling up large swaths of space and sending out colonies. If the colonies had trouble, they were cut loose. The next seventy years saw Starfleet run on a shoestring budget, with aging ships flung to the far corners of Federation space for years at a time. Any halfway decent officer, or one who simply a complete moron, ended up getting promoted quickly.

Israel has an auto-dailer system that texts or calls every known civilian phone in their target areas prior to a strike, to try to minimize civvie casualties. But they are the Nazis and Hamas are the freedom fighters.

Well, duh pipeline is supposedly back on. Apparently word got out, as the gas stations weren't that full this evening around 8 PM or so.

I stopped at this little Exxon I frequently haunt (not for gas) and asked the guy there about the situation. He said they didn't run out, but would have if they didn't shut down half their pumps.

He had just opened them up. This morning he said, they got word to close down one side. That tamped down demand enough to keep them from running out.

Economics 101: When demand spikes and supply can't meet it, you can do two things. Let the price rise and tamp demand down, or don't change the price and ration. If you don't, you run out.

I thought that was a pretty smart rationing trick. Rather than try to limit amounts at the pump, just shut half of them down, which limits how fast they can dispense.
