The Morning Report - 4/23/21 [J.J. Sefton]

mumichesa.jpg

Good morning kids. Friday and the weekend is here. With the high-tech lynching of Derek Chauvin done and now another one in the on deck circle in Columbus, Ohio where a cop actually saved a young black woman from being knifed to death, it's official that the inmates have taken over, not so much the asylum, but the prison. Up is down, black is white, 2+2=5 (if you're not white), men can menstruate, Iran is (mostly) peaceful, refusing vaccinations and masks is "neanderthal," Joe Biden won the 2020 election fair and square, and "Raymond Shaw is the kindest, bravest, warmest, most wonderful human being I've ever known in my life."

Like I said, inmates running the prison; the nation formerly known as the United States of America. We're well down the road - check that, a Shining Path - to a vast, soul-crushing totalitarian police state. Ironic considering the battle cry these days is to abolish the police because law enforcement is a tool of "white privilege" and "structural racism." Oh hell yeah, there will be policing and there will be law enforcement. It's just that those who were the inmates are soon to be the warders. Here's a little something that, if taken to its logical conclusion (which I will get to in a moment) should make your skin crawl.

[So-called quote-unquote 'president'] Joe Biden's nominee to lead the Justice Department's civil rights division circulated an essay from self-proclaimed Marxist poet Amiri Baraka defending cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal and referring to police officers as members of the Ku Klux Klan, according an email from her days at Columbia University.

Kristen Clarke forwarded the Baraka essay in an email on June 25, 1999, to her mentor, the late historian Manning Marable.

She suggested that the essay, entitled "Mumia, 'Lynch Law' & Imperialism" be placed in a magazine Marable edited and used for a panel on the death penalty...

...The American Accountability Foundation has published other documents showing that Clarke helped organize a conference with Marable in 1999 where Mumia Abu-Jamal, Assata Shakur and other convicted cop killers were hailed as "political prisoners."

Clarke testified at her Senate confirmation hearing last week that she was unfamiliar with the Abu-Jamal and Shakur cases and that she only provided logistics for Marable's conference...

..."The Klan is now the Police, with Blue uniforms replacing the sheets and hoods. The corrupt racist Judges, are petty Klan administrators," Baraka wrote in the essay.

He also asserted that Abu-Jamal was "being held hostage."

"Mountains of evidence and testimony show clearly that Mumia is another Black scapegoat, another Lynch victim."

"The rulers want to show us what will happen if we mobilize and mount full scale attack on Imperialism as Mumia did as part of the Black Panther party as a sector of The Black Liberation Movement," Baraka also wrote in the essay shared by Clarke.

Abu-Jamal, a former Black Panther, was sentenced to death row in 1982 for the murder of Daniel Faulkner, a Philadelphia police officer.

His case became a cause celebre for left-wing activists who believe he was unfairly convicted.

Frankly, repulsive as this Kristen Clarke is, what is she so afraid of? Why didn't she just come right out and cop (no pun) to it? Not only is the entire Democrat-Agitprop Machine going to go to the mattresses for you because Gott Mit Uns but worse, not only is the GOP essentially powerless to stop her confirmation but the odds are that they are not going to do a damn thing and just let this twisted fool sail on through to a top slot in the corporation. The estimable Julie Kelly vents her spleen, not only in regards to a key player in the Russia Collusion hoax, but virtually every Biden hack, flack and flunky getting confirmed with nary a peep of opposition from the GOP.

Only a handful of Republican senators have shown any guts; Senators Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Ted Cruz, Rick Scott (R-Texas), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), and Rand Paul have voted against most of Biden's nominees. (But shame on Hawley, Scott, and Cotton for voting yes on Monaco.)

Contrast that record with what happened during Trump's first few months in office; by April 2017, his cabinet nominees had received the most "no" votes in presidential history.

Joe Biden, his [junta], and congressional Democrats haven't wasted any time in their effort to radically transform the country, not to mention stoke a dangerous race war. Republicans aren't just flat-footed in opposition, they are complicit in empowering this destructive regime.

It's hard to see why rank-and-file Republicans should keep sending the same craven bunch of leftist accomplices to Washington. Maybe one day, they'll stop.

Stay tuned for John Cornyn leading the way on amnesty, Julie (an excellent essay worthy of your time but do take a beta blocker beforehand). Doing the Piss-Hockey Psaki circle-back, in the immortal words of Mick Jagger and Keith Richard, now that every cop is a criminal, and all the sinners saints, how long before Titty Caca AOC and LoPecia Pressley introduce legislation or demand that Joey Aqualung grant amnesty, a full pardon and a vacating of the conviction of Mumia Abu Jamal? Hell, why not Joanne Chesimard aka Assata Shakur so she can return a hero from exile in the workers paradise (mostly the world's oldest profession) of Cuba?

If you think that that's crazy talk, look at the world around you. Not just in the big blue shit-holes, but everywhere and right up your street. We've been permanently masked against a nominally nasty but temporary virus, muzzled against speaking freely. Gay marriage was laughable 15 years ago. Trannies serving openly in the military? Drag queen story hour? The FBI, CIA and the entire bureaucracy covertly and overtly insubordinate to a duly elected president and working in concert with tech oligarchs to steal a national election and install a fraudulent one?

Think about that and tell me that prognosticating Mumia Abu Jamal and Assata Shakur as the co-heads of the soon-to-be-formed Department of Peace is crazy talk.

One thing that gets me nutsy-fagin is pundits writing essays about how "we can't let them destroy America" and "we have to fight back" either without elaborating on how, in the face of a massive cultural and political Leviathan, that has subsumed us, this is to be achieved, or, worse, imploring us to "vote harder." I don't claim I have the answer because I have no fucking clue as to what can be done to stop this. That said, this cannot go on. It must not go on. And we are reaching a boiling point.

An incident last Sunday marks the second time since [Chinese] COVID that I've witnessed an ugly confrontation in a retail location over a customer's unwillingness to comply with facial mask directives. The first time, soon after the coronavirus onset, wasn't so bad. A man stormed angrily out of a popular Westside liquor store, frustrated and sputtering loudly after a clerk reminded him of the mask requirement.

This last Sunday, in a big box hardware store, was much worse. A man removed his mask while leaving the store, but then stopped short of the exit to look at a display of garden topsoil arrayed under the windows near the entrance. When a female salesperson approached and reminded him that he needed to keep the mask on until he had fully exited the building, the guy went apoplectic, shouting profanities at the top of his lungs. The manager rushed up and quietly addressed him, causing the man to yell in response, "Go ahead, call the f&%king police."

After several more rage-filled expletives, the man left. Twenty or so people waiting on line -- including several young children -- stood shell-shocked. I noticed several of them scanning the parking lot. Needless to say, in a country that has experienced scores of mass shootings in the last several weeks, these home improvement shoppers can be forgiven for wondering if perhaps their mass-shooting number had come up...

...America had a leader, former President Donald Trump, who, despite some controversial methodology and personality traits that are deal-breakers to many voters, undeniably cares deeply about this country, her traditions, her culture, and the philosophical values which inform her founding.

Now, in a nation left with a president for whom any characterization smacks of elder abuse, a cackling, fourth-string, Commie-crat VP, and a Deep State whose actions proclaim Don't ever try this again, there is a terrible sense of unravelling. A trepidation that any potential 2022 reckoning may not come fast enough to staunch the outflow of civic and constitutional lifeblood...

...National power is predominantly in the hands of the Left, their corporate, media, Big-Tech, entertainment, and Deep State accomplices. There is a sense of unraveling. Besetting traditionalist America is an emotion comparable to that which overcame the man who dared remove his face mask in the hardware store.

A growing anger at unchecked socialist transformation and the constrictive clutch of the bureaucratic fist.

Have a nice weekend.

10 conservatives need to start with school boards. I am not sure why they don't do this, it is so obvious a blind man could see it. Maybe it doesn't sound sexy. That is something the Left doesn't care about, they only care about control.

People have talked about a Silent Majority for so long, it has become demonstrably untrue. Sure conservatives are mostly silent, but they are no longer the majority. The Left does this for a living, they are going to contest every open position. Most Repubs and even Trump Voters only care about presidential elections. The joke is they are the joke. The joke is they already lost even before the presidential results come out.

12 Much like it's becoming useless to point out the left's hypocrisy....

Spoiler alert: They don't care.

It's also becoming useless to point out the GOP's fecklessness, complicity and treachery, again, like the left, they don't care.

The only way forward is replacing the GOP with an America First/Nationalist Party.

This was necessary in 2007, it's necessary now.

It more than likely too late to anything about this before the crack up but there it is.

I watched the SpaceX crew launch to the ISS about an hour 20 minutes ago. Spectacular night launch. High altitude atmospheric conditions resulted in beautuful coronas around the vehicle as seen from the ground. Angelic is the only word I have that begins to describe the scene. Look for photos and videos online. My cheesy phone camera cannot capture the beauty.

Which is why there will be no voting our way out of this. Period, end of story. At best, assuming there are actual open, fair, and free elections again - recent events tell you how this will play out. The DNC will push as hard as possibly to codify the most ridiculous shit into law. The mushy middle of the electorate will recoil - and possibly elect the GOP as a reaction. The GOP will then do very little to roll anything back. And thus, what was unthinkable a few short years ago will become the new standard. Just like the GOP campaigned on ObamaCare and open borders and transgenderism - did very little to eliminate any of it - and now defends most of it. That how this works. Because "we" are no longer a majority - and "we" certainly don't matter. We are, in every sense of the word, social and political untermenschen now.

Really no reason why they should. Defeats at the ballot box haven't really stalled their agenda. Last time they lost the white house and both wings of congress, their supposed opposition collaborated to keep any rollback to a minimum. The same opposition then promptly threw the house, then conspired to rig an election, then charitably pitched away any hope of maintaining deadlock in a split senate. They know something - that they've got at least 100 million fervent followers that will never, ever be rooted out or squelched - no matter how egregious the offense. From a purely tactical and strategic sense - altering course based upon something as meaningless as the ballot box would be stupid for them.

You have to - or you'll be one of the mushy middle with no clue what's going on - and you'll get blind-sided. You don't want that. But the Left does - as much of a news embargo as is happening now - the Left doesn't even want this much getting out. Don't do their work for them. Yes, Nietzsche was right - when you stare at the abyss, it stares back. What isn't in there is, if there is an abyss, it's our duty to stare. To know. We got to this point, in no small part, because too many people not only didn't stare - they shouted down those that did and reported back.

Julie Kelly lays out our problem in just (about) forty words. Republicans "work" with Democrats, while Democrats accept party discipline and ony talk to Republicans when absolutely necessary. Republicans in the Senate, especially the leadership but really, nearly all of them, completely lack common sense and an understanding of their accomplice role in destroying the Republic.

It's astounding to see.

It seems crazy only if you're accepting the premise that it's about the environment. It's not. In this age of telecommunications and Zoom meetings, the people who say they care are still flying in their private jets.

What it's about is mainly the opportunity for a few families and lobbyists corporations to become fabulously wealthy because of legislation. It involves other aspects as well, but that's mainly it.

Never forget that the majority of representatives couldn't care less about the United States or your family, but only their family's personal fortunes. Remember, pre president Joe Biden sold us down the river to China for a mere $10M or so.

Texas has been doing a "heat check" for some time. I get wanting major companies to relocate to your state, but asking every lefty with a grudge to move there, was a tactical blunder. The reality is they have enough lefties. Look at Austin, Dallas, and unfortunately, San Antonio. I still say Texas will stay REd for a few political soirees. But no doubt it is not moving to the right.
TN, FL, and WV are three of the few states actually moving to the right. That is a rare group mind you. People should study it to figure out what is going on. WV makes sense, the others do not. At least they don't make sense if you see the way the nation is going. I am not saying they are the most conservative states. I am saying there is demonstrable proof that those few have actually moved to the right over the last ten years.

Agreed. It's not like we practice capitalism anyway. It's more of a socialist economy - with the fusion of government and corporations. And its been that way for quite a while. Somebody tell me - how long have we been having Big XYZ Bailouts ? As far back as Daddy Bush, if I remember correctly. It's no wonder to me so many of the yutes have a bad view of capitalism - they've never seen it. All they've seen is "this" - and been told this is capitalism.

It's a waste of time and breath to discuss the Republican party as if it actually exists as a separate entity from the Democrats. For me, it's now simply "the administration." There's no rule of law anymore either, just the enforcement of policy. The civilian security service Obama had such a hard on for is already here; BLM/Antifa. All they need are matching uniforms and direct deposit for their government checks.

150 no one can ever compare to Rush. I know this statement is about as incisive at the one about water being wet. But it is true. It people missed out on Rush in the 90s, well, they missed something special. He did much more after that, but never was he more relevant than the late 90s. Repubs went to him because his stamp of approval meant everything.

I recall when Rush gave W the stamp of approval. Rush did the right thing, what choice was there really? I was a McCain guy. Yeah, I know I will take shit, but there were reasons. I saw W was flobbed on us. Hell he barely cared about the race. The reality is both of them were not up to the job. We see McCain now as a political abomination. But would he have been worse than W?. W was left no legacy for the R party at all. And he has been a major Dem in his post years. Not defending McCain here, i don't like any of his policies. But you cant go back 21 years and claim you knew everything. The Repubs put McCain up in 2008, long after the scuffles with W.

Our federal establishment has decided that "democracy" is the chief good, not good governance, that lies and the more outrageous the better, are more valuable than facts and sober consideration. Marxism and the lies that it is built on never - never - leave truthful men alone; Marxism is always in search of a Killing Field and will not tolerate not having it.

163 The silver lining in all of this - in the broad sense, like "over the past fifteen years or more" - is clarity.

It is now clear to all that the government and its rulers are evil, that they are corrupt, that they seek to make sacrificial animals of its regular citizens and gut them on the altar of its preferred citizens, that they seek to enrich and empower themselves with no consideration of collateral damage, that they hate this country or hold it in profound contempt, that they don't care about the future when power questions of the moment surface, that they are venal and stupid and evil and have limitless power, that they obey no law but their own mealy-mouthed rationalizations of their actions and their paper-thin pretexts of acting in some undefined public's unspecified good or toward some form of hyphenated "justice."

All of this is now clear. And so are the consequences: this country, her culture and her civilization are dead. Don't worry about how to fight the monsters who are consolidating their power so as to save it. One does not transfuse blood into a corpse. Mourn, certainly. Lament if you need to.

I will say that I grew up in the 60s/70s in middle America, moderate little burb outside of Cincinnati, with no inherent dangers, per se. But I always remember my dad telling me to watch my surroundings at all times and be aware of who was standing next to me when out in the world. He'd say verbatim, "you never know what kind of nut is out there." And these were the halcyon days, comparatively speaking. It's been ingrained in me ever since. He doesn't act and then he is on scene with one dead or mortally wounded victim and the attacker in the trance of a blood rage perhaps turning on him, as well as the attackers "father" still in the area committing assualt and also a threat.

It's always been true and will always be true everywhere. When you know a specific place, you learn when you may be able to safely let your guard down but situational awareness is always needed.

I am not great at it, but actively work on it. I have gotten a lot worse over the past year, for two reasons:
1. I go out less, meaning there are fewer opportunities for practice.
2. Masked people make me uncomfortable and I find it something like (but not quite) sickening. I have trouble looking at them en masse.

But I still have several up on the people I see wandering around sidewalks, streets and store aisles while staring at their cell phones...

368 You know Bush wasn't a RINO. He is a Republican, always has been. He spouted a few conservative principles to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy then went on to govern as a Republican. Republicans for the most part have been progressive since the late 1800's.
All the Republicans have are a handful of CINO's (conservative in name only) and maybe if we're lucky 2-3 actual conservatives and I'm not even 51% sure about that. Sure wish we'd channel our anger and passion elsewhere more productive than going on about the Republican Party. I don't even care what they do.
They've been f'ing over conservatives for fifty plus years, I wonder when we'll say enough is enough with the delusions of taking over the party.

depends on the state In VA there is no registration by parties. To us. registration by parties is a freaking joke. The way it works here is you can vote in any primary election. But you can't vote in both. It is the same at gun registration. It makes sense in some states as that is normal. In other states, even the idea is truly an abomination. Now that VA is uber blue and uber leftist, I can't speak for their present policies. I am talking the way it used to be and the way it always was. What they do now is beyond me. Already questions about what led up to the police call -- has anyone reported on that? What started the fight, how did the girls know each other? The 'teens fight, doncha know' line is a little too glib.

But now that the foster dad is identified as the guy attempting murder on the other teen, this is likely a very bad situation that the local CPS and others involved really don't want looked into. Much easier to blame the cop and save their jobs, avoid accountability. At minimum, that man should never be a foster parent again.

It's a shame the people who are using this girl for politics don't care, but this is so typical. Use victims for all their political worth and then move on.

Here in Fannin County we are down to 33 active covid cases. But the reason that's so low is almost everyone in the County has already died from the covid.

439 > We routinely put the dumbest people in charge of stuff they have no clue about.

We really couldn't do any worse by just running the government like the military draft, or jury duty. Rather than elections, just conscript people to be representatives for a year. You could even give them credit against a future military draft if they'd served or something like that.

Something to consider after it all comes crashing down and we have to build a new Constitution from scratch.

I had hughes net when we lived in Kentucky 8 years ago and it sucked. We would lose signal constantly. Once I called and asked them what was wrong this time as I lost signal right in the middle of playing World of Warships, the lady told me there were thunderstorms in my area. I told her to quit blowing smoke up my a$$ because I was on the back deck and there wasn't a single cloud in the sky.

I pad them the $325 early termination fee and told them to come get their stuff from my roof. They sent a guy and he took the little receiver inside the dish and said if I wanted the dish removed I would have to do it myself.

Worst service I ever had. Maybe they have gotten better, but I would never go with them if I had a choice.

449 In the Sargon podcast I linked upthread, they show more of the confrontation between the pub owner and the MP he kicked out because the MP has led the continued lockdown efforts.

The pub owner confronts him on the street, tells him he's been a lifelong Labor voter, but this Labor MP has failed him and the rest of UK citizens with his continued lockdown promotion. The MP brushes him off with something like "I don't need to be lectured by you."

But then it gets wilder: the pub owner is then interviewed on a UK morning show, drops some stats on infection rates mirroring seasona flu and places like Florida showing shutdowns don;t work, and the three tv people take turns telling they don't need a pub owner;s opinions, go pull some pints. They invited on their show .

This could be handled - ban anyone working for the government to work for any sector they regulated.

Obviously this can get glossed over if the government wants to allow it of course - Megacorp hires say regulator that did them a favor for a no show "consulting" job to some other division - but that's really true of all the laws we have now.

A moral people would use the laws justly, and the current governing elite uses them unjustly.

yes, I like simple arguments ... like "CO2 is good for the greening of America, and the world".

It is demonstrably true that arid areas are "greening up" from more CO2, and other ag/hort' production is enhanced with more CO2. How can the "greenies" not want more green?

More warmth would also be good, but China scrubbing their coal emissions (of the soot, not of CO2) would help most, if it was really about "the environment" ... but real discussion is impossible, only "Greta Rage" counts as "science and logic" in Upside Down Clown world.
