Quick Hits: Pissed Off Ikea Guy Has More Snappy Answers to Stupid Questions Edition

Steven Crowder exposes a leftist woman a racist with a White Savior complex, but she's too stupid to get it.

What really happened at the Ohio shooting:

This woman should run for schoolboard, for Congress, for whatever:

Toronto's Police are very excited that they're getting guns off the streets.

Assault weapons like these:

If you missed yesterday's dose of hatred from an Ikea clerk, here it is.

Below: The sequel.

By the way, the type of person who is this angry about having to actually work for his paycheck is, of course, very leftwing. I suggest that you do not read his timeline if you want to enjoy this.

32 I know many here can't distinguish platform from content and thus fear twatters cooties, but if you found and followed the best people starting a year ago, you'd have been well informed about the catastrophic debacle the response to C19 was from early on. The guy ace posted above, like all of them, has his niche - his is documenting the lack of correlation between "policies" and results. There are many, each with different specialties.

One woman in AZ busted the state health department for falsifying their hospital stats (they were actually forced to change them). One in San Diego quickly busted the idiot governor on ICU capacity status around Christmas.

It's two things. The silver-lining/naively optimistic one is - the power of web-based independent analysts with access to info. The more important one is - the amazing collapse in integrity and competence in public institutions.

That's exactly what it's like for ALL the bullshit gun "buybacks" in every city.

I shit you not, all you need to bring them is a PIECE of WHAT COULD BE part of a gun.

Depends on the buyback. I've been watching for a buyback near me because I'm seriously contemplating making a whole car-load of slamfire shotguns and taking them to a buyback for $50 a pop or whatever they're offering.

Every once in a while, someone will show up to a buyback with a bunch of 3d printed AR15 receivers. Per the law, those are technically a "gun". However, some buybacks will specify the gun has to be functional.

127 I figured IKEA guy was a lefty - there's just a little bit too much anger in some of those rants, and he's lashing out because he doesn't have the skillset or attitude to improve his life.

I'm not much of an IKEA fan at all - in fact a lot of their shit is overpriced garbage - but they do make one thing that's excellent, and that's the shelf system they have that's perfect for LP's. Plain, simple, inexpensive and sturdy. They also have (of course) drawers and door sets for the things, which I use for my photo gear. Other than that, I'm hard pressed to understand how they're a thing. From what I read it's gotten even cheaper and shoddier.

It's the damndest thing though - I guess everybody should visit one just once for the spectacle. Has anybody had the meatballs there? I'm too much of a coward.

Oh, and I had them deliver the fucking shelves, I figured there was no way in hell I'd be able to load 200 lbs worth of particle board into a pick up, and to borrow the ex FIL's truck means I get to fill that sucker up - so the delivery fee actually makes it cheaper than putting 30 gallons of diesel in a dually truck I hate to drive and my back isn't thrown out trying to do it.

True, and apparently they've nailed that part of it. I think some of it is kind of like the feeling you have at an auction. Hey! $30 for a desk lamp! I don't need one, but I'll get it because that seems like a great price!

Then you get home, and find one that looks shitloads better, is well built from a known designer, and is $23. But once you're there, they got you. The other part of it (which is brilliant) is the way they wind you through the place. That's got to be half of it. You simply cannot get from point A to point B without walking past the entire alphabet. So all of a sudden, you're buying a doormat and matching vases when you were there for a fucking table.

Yeah, this one has a bit more of an angry tone than the one Ace posted yesterday. I mean, I couldn't get too angry at somebody saying something about me having to work on Thanksgiving.

I think the type of store you're working has a bit to do with it - I know my experience working a hardware store would be very different than somebody working a kitchen store or clothing. In my case, people usually had a problem and were there for me to solve it for them, so that alone puts it on a different foot starting out. IKEA is more of a do it yourself place, so other than stocking, running the register or cleaning up a kids barf, I'd imagine most interactions would be the same all day long.

Last year I was trying to get my plants just during the first of lockdown - I got a bunch of crap - all mislabeled. Even though I went to 2 different places (home despot and Ace) the plants were identical. So, 2 shitty-ass beefsteak tomatoes that weren't, and possibly the lousiest tomato I've ever had.

So this year I went to the best nursery in NorCal, and got some decent plants. It's just me, so I don't need much. I still have a thai pepper that's looking great from last year, and a serrano, but i pulled the rest. I'm trying a rocoto, I might go back and grab one other unusual one. The rocoto has the fruity flavor of a habenero, is the size of a small bell, thick walls and just regular hot. Really nice.

271 a very good and cheap sauce you can get is Melinda's Ghost Pepper Wing sauce They have it at Walmart. I have had my share of sauces and that one is a winner. Not just for wings mind you, it is great for everything. And if you want to try a taste of the super hot peppers, there is your chance and still you will be ok and actually like it. It is made in Colombia, so you know it is high quality.

Implementing that wherewithal requires a great deal of courage. The actual means, of course, will vary, and I'd suggest the political venue first. That failing, then grab the cartridge box.

The ballot box has failed, so I guess we should grab the cartridge box.

You first. Show us how it's done. Be the change that you advocate for.

Some people don't understand that embedding a video/post here doesn't monetize them there. Not unless you click to go there. So in a way, Ace is ripping them off. Same with YT. They can't run commercials on embedded videos, which is why they want you to click through.

The only time I bitch is when there's a link to someplace like NYT, which is why I'd like to see archived links. But I understand that's one extra step, a possible 2 minute thing, multiplied many times over the course of a day...

So I bought from another supplier. I still planted some of the Pepper Joe's seeds, but I don't know what they'll turn out to be. Maybe they'll be right.

Virginia went pear shaped because the deep state kept growing and prospering. Sure everyone from NY and PA moved there, what else were they going to do? But they moved there because the deep state prospered and everyone always knew they would always choose themselves to prosper. I said in 2017 that the first thing Trump should do is send the Fed largesse afield. I am not saying look it up, but if you do, you will se me saying it.

Sure it would not be easy, in fact it would be almost impossible. But the only way to turn VA is to turn OUT a few hundred thousand government workers. I mean, why should only one tiny place reap all the dividends? Why can't other parts of the country get in on the government gravy train?

298 Nova used to be statist, there is no question there. I don't care if you called yourself a Dem or Repub, most Repubs were statists. What is going on now if actually very recent. This is not Austin and it is not Portland. The idea that NOVA leaders would go full on radical leftist is very new. Even five or six years ago this would have been unheard of. Again, this is not some hippie land. That the virulent radicals took over in NOVA should scare the crap out of people. That is not the history of NOVA, regardless of party.

It tells me that the virulent wing will take any place, at any time. The only way to stop the true radicals is to defeat them. I look to states like WV, TN, and FL for guidance. Because VA is gone and now the true radicals are in charge for the first time in the state's history.

try a video on Korean Buldak. Or try one one Buldak Ramjun. AKA, Korean fire chicken noodles. If you check the yt, you will get a million hits. I had them btw. If you have them with cheese, and milk, they are damn good. Maybe you will need a beer or even some milk, but honesty I liked them. People act as if they are the hottest thing ever. Like I say, throw in some cream, milk, and cheese. Dress them up with some grilled chicken, scallions and an egg. You are getting very close to the best food ever.

304 Ikea's shelving system is pretty good, and some of their desks and tables are made of real wood and pretty decent for the price. Their cheap tables are cheap, but if it's going to be up for a while you're probably better off with a cheap Ikea table than a plastic folding table from a big box store.

Their upholstered stuff is pointless unless you're broke but still want upholstered furniture for some reason. I also have some of their 'downstairs' stuff like dishes and generally like it, but it should be noted that I'm a dirty rotten millennial who didn't get to buy housewares back when Wally World wasn't setting the quality standard.

307 298 Nova used to be statist, there is no question there. I don't care if you called yourself a Dem or Repub, most Repubs were statists. What is going on now if actually very recent.

It's actually a complete blow up of the republican party and a capitulation to the radical in the democratic party. Primary turnouts were miniscule and most didn't notice school board and attorney races...now, after Covid, I expect the democratic party to push back slightly to the middle, since Nova is 30% radical, 50% democrat (but only motivated to vote in elections to beat repubs), and 20% republican...

I have said that if any repub ever wants a chance in Nova again, his 1st words should be "I love the feds and I want to support them any way I can". It doesn't even have to be true, b/c most of the office holders here can't do a damn thing to affect fed worker jobs and policies. But, none of them have been smart enough to play the politics game. Knowing what politics to spout b/c you'll literally never be called on it, so you can actually set decent law enforcement, education, and tax policies...
