The Morning Report - 3/16/21 [J.J. Sefton]

CHUDOmar.jpg

Good morning, kids. Tuesday and while we're all preoccupied with what the left hand is doing, and rightly so, with the geront-ocide committed by Angel of Death Cuomo as well as the other four dictatorial Democrat governors, plus the persecution of peaceful law-abiding citizens who did nothing but show up at the Capitol to protest the stolen election, and the silencing of all voices of dissent to the official stories coming out of the Junta on those and other issues, the far left hand is getting ready to commit no-less horrendous acts of necrophilia on the moldering corpse of the nation formerly known as the United States of America:

On March 11, [Bro-Fo Omar/Nur/Burqawitz/Ikeelyou] introduced H.R. 1847, a bill "To suspend obligations of residential renters and mortgagors to make payments during the [Chinese] COVID-19 emergency, and for other purposes." So far only a draft of the text is available.

Essentially, the bill says that real property tenants can stop paying their landlords. Our country was not founded on the moral code that one is not responsible for one's obligations and debts. However, these socialists would make it so.

The communism begins to sneak in in Sec. 5(e), where priority for landlord reimbursement is tiered based on income. Non-profit owners and those with the fewest assets get the highest priority.

Rental property owners get totally trashed if they own a multi-family (five or more dwelling units) structure (Sec. 7). For five years, they cannot sell or transfer their property -- presumably, this includes transfers via a trust to one's heirs -- without the permission of HUD, which will notify all eligible purchasers that the property is available. This is a prima facie violation of the Commerce Clause of the Constitution.

The first right of purchase will go to non-profit or other such housing organizations, at a sale price that HUD approves. We the People... er, sorry, HUD will pay for this housing. We will also pay for operations and maintenance costs, seemingly in perpetuity (Sec. 7(f)(2)). Nothing in this draft bill prevents these guv-funded purchasers from turning around and selling the property. There's no reimbursement provision at all. Not a bad gig, but on the other hand....

New owners of multi-family facilities face life-of-the-facility-long restrictions, including no refusing housing based on criminal history or immigration status (Sec. 7(d)(4)). Hide your teenage daughters, you other tenants, because that means that these private, public, or quasi-governmental organizations must rent to MS-13 if they show up at the door. This provision also abrogates the short-term public charge requirements of immigration law for most legal immigrants -- a feature of immigration statutes that pre-dates Trump, going back to 1882...

...Her bill is a trap to get We the People to pay for everyone's housing and it's the opening gambit to bring all housing under the control of the federal government.

Anyone want to bet that this flagrant Communist seizure of private property won't pass the Senate, let alone the House? This not unrelated story should put aside any doubts whatsoever:

Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said the legislative filibuster had "become the death grip of democracy" during a speech on the Senate floor Monday.

"The truth is, as filibusters and threatened filibusters have increased in recent decades, real debate and bipartisan cooperation have plummeted," Durbin said. "Today's filibuster is often used to prevent the Senate from even starting to debate important ideas. It's not the guarantor of democracy. It has become the death grip of democracy."

Even if it passes and gets signed into law, thank goodness we always have the Supreme Court to nix this catastrophe. And if you believe that, I have a bridge over the East River to sell you, cheap. That is if HUD doesn't make me use it to house illegal aliens. Beyond the fact that to this day Dick Turdbin refuses to answer any questions about his apparent close relationship with would-be mass assassin James Hodgkinson, his willful ignorance of the fact that we are not a democracy (or at lest were not until January 6th of this year) but a representative republic, the filibuster is one of those rules that is supposed to ensure that legislation wildly unpopular with the citizenry that has the effect of radically affecting the nation is prevented from being made law hastily, in the heat of the moment, without considerable time to debate it on the merits. Well, that quaint and obviously racist/white supremacist/insurrectionist notion went out the window with multi-thousand page bills enacted at midnight on Christmas eve with no one reading through them.

These two items fit hand in glove and by themselves on any normal day would be top stories in an honest media. Well, suffice it to say that I consider this here site honest media. And that scares the shit out of me because everyone who has a byline and quite probably everyone who has ever posted a comment is on the radar of Bob from the NSA. Not the commenter but some real live Bob from the real live NSA. Look what they are doing to several hundred innocent, patriotic, law abiding citizens who had the gall to exercise their Constitutional rights to protest the most massive injustice ever inflicted on them, the theft of a national election and the overthrow of a legitimate government. Along with Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse, those guys from Michigan who committed the crime of bitching about Wretched Whitmer and now two saps being set up by the FBI for allegedly causing DC police officer Brian Sicknick's death because of bear spray, the dragnet will no doubt be cast further and wider as time goes on and as more and more failure and misery is inflicted on us via this evil, illegitimate junta.

And you better watch what you say in front of neighbors, coworkers and even family members; any of them who are leftist pod people will rat you out in a heartbeat. That is perhaps the most hateful and depressing thing of all. But, we can never know the future. While what I just mentioned makes an already immensely powerful tyranny that much more effective, no one is infallible. They're human, at least on paper. Their inability to see us as fellow human beings and their inflexibility in their dogma is an Achilles heel that somehow, some way, in some event yet unseen will lead to their downfall. When that happens, or if we will be caught in the undertow is the question.

NOTE: The opinions expressed in some links may or may not reflect my own. I include them because of their relevance to the discussion of a particular issue.

5 Biden will be taken down when the time is right. There are those in the government/military who believe this will happen within 3 months. He is nothing but a placeholder for Harris. The question I have is who is pulling the strings? The Time article talks about all the players involved, but day-to-day, who is pulling Biden's strings and who pull Harris's?

I suspect it's the Obama vs Hillary civil war. Biden will fall after Cuomo and for the same reasons; it's why he and Skankles have been so silent on Cuomo. Skankles got her position as a senator from Cuomo and Harris got her current position due to the influence of Obama's organization.

We know who's pulling the string, it's Obama's crew, Rice, Jarret, et al.

This was called out and understood back in March what was going to happen with the meat puppet.

In fact the ENTIRE election theft and installation of Joey CCP was known back then as well by those who could see.

It's why Deep Donk went to DEFCON 1 over the Ukraine nonsense, the plan had been hatched and nothing could derail it.

One possible answer is a strongman has yet to emerge within the Politburo and we will see the struggle among the Commissars begin once the Biden-mask is ready to drop. History teaches us whoever is most eager to be rithless and blood thirsty wins, and the others move to Mexico to await their ice pic from room service.

44 So you own a small condo complex... you can't sell it until the government has 5 years to set up a new division at HUD. Then they will tell you who to sell it to, how much to sell it for. And if you decide to keep it, they will tell you who to rent it to and how much to rent it for. The renters don't have to pay you, but you must maintain it to every demand of the renter and provide 5 star service.

This is one of those things that is designed to fail so the only way to clean up the housing mess created by these greedy landlords is for the government to take over the whole thing.

Most folks tend to overlook the Einsatzgruppen and focus on the death camps. The Einsatzgruppen shot easily a quarter of all the victims essentially one by one. There is a French priest who has devoted much of the past 10 years to try and find as many of the mass graves as possible. Most were in the former soviet territories of Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova and inaccessible until the wall came down. Now with eyewitnesses, many in their 90s and more than a few reluctant to help, the final resting place of hundreds of thousands may never be known.

So incredibly tragic.

Also, property tax is artificially jacked up (read: higher rent) coupled with a communistic "refund" program for renters that, like most government welfare programs, does not work very well and is prone to abuse.

Lots of idiots in that state.

89 The broad strokes of that housing bill read like a precursor Directive 10-281 from "Atlas Shrugged." I wish I could say a word like "unreal" or "outrageous" or something like that, but I can't. This is all entirely expected.

It still really pisses me off, though. When it passes (and it will), it will be another example of the ensuckering of the good. If you're good and do the right thing, you're a sucker. If you're bad and lie, cheat and steal then you're shrewd and really know how to get ahead in this world. I paid off my student loans only to have the loans of others forgiven. I lived very modestly and saved my shekles for more than a decade to buy a house, only to have the mortgages and rent payments of others suddenly become optional. I pay a king's ransom in taxes and get nothing but oppression from the feds for my contributions - contributions that are extracted from me at gunpoint.

What is the point of being an honest man? Have we now reached the point where being an honest man is now evidence of ignorance or stupidity? It feels that way to me.

97 I currently watching "The Man in the High Castle" and have just entered the dread third season, but-

I'm also reading the book and both contain some great passages and insights into Our Betters New World Order.

The book particularly contains some great passages where the character Frink thinks about how deeply he hated the Japanese for destroying America and wanted revenge bu-u-ut, carrying that hate was so hard, he let it go and became another slob in the Japanese machine.

And there's a wonderful part where one of the character thinks about how unreal the Nazi's thinking is. How it depends on a completely distorted view of reality. Maybe I'll quote that in the next Book thread, it's a great passage with insight into the Democrats/Our Betters.

"Today's filibuster is often used to prevent the Senate from even starting to debate important ideas. It's not the guarantor of democracy. It has become the death grip of democracy."
++++
Correlation != causation, Dick. Is the filibuster causing a lack of "bipartisanship" or is the aggressive and acquisitive way that the party views power causing bipartisanship to lose its luster and compel anyone with a different opinion to obstinately block action instead of engaging to make the deal better, as they already know the outcome? Is the filibuster a threat to "democracy" or is the arbitrary rule of the unaccountable a threat to "democracy" for which the filibuster is used as an imprecise and unwieldy defense - a procedural bazooka that is used because a sniper rifle is unavailable?

Have you even considered causation, Dick? I'm sure you have. You're not a retard. You're just deeply sinister.

First, none of those other living presidents lifted a finger to help Trump with COVID while he was still in office, nor did they offer help during other crises as they have previously done for each other. Don't think we didn't notice that the very exclusive ex-POTUS club has 100% rejected one of their own.

Second, is this about Trump, or is this about yet again 'otherizing' his voters?

The message is: "Your stupid MAGA people aren't getting vaccinated (anti-vaxxerz!!), so could you please drag them into the 21st century and order them to step in line and embrace The Science(tm)?" This is planting the notion that anyoneone who gets covid is a dumb, filthy MAGA unperson.

Read that carefully. That is an extremely efficient tweet and there's a lot to unpack in it. Just off the cursory first reading:
- Opposition to the Left is, definitionally, "extreme." If you are in this extreme group called the "Right" then you are grouped and otherized.
- Being a creature of megacorporate power (in his case, big tech; in her case big finance) means being on the side of the "working people" - so long as you work for their patrons. Other working people don't factor into things.
- The technocracy (the "scientists" in this permutation) must run unfettered for your own good

Warren should win an award for this. It is rare to see a tweet that packs so much into so little space. She gets tops marks for efficiency on this one.

YES.

There is a strong argument to made that our open southern border is extremely inhumane not only because of the risks people take to reach and cross it (those rapes and kidnappings weren't made up), but due to the catastrophic effects that it has on their home countries. People willing to brave a dangerous trek to gamble on an unknown in an alien land tend to either have nothing to lose or to be your best. In reality, it's a mixture of both.

We keep absorbing not only Latin America's criminals and monsters, but also Latin America's most capable and hardest-working. And by so doing, we deprive their home countries of their services. This is also (and interestingly, I think), a Left-compatible humanitarian position that the Left never acknowledges. So much for bipartisanship.

No, no, no. You profoundly misunderstand. He is not himself of the "working people" but he most decidedly on their side. It is, in fact, *better* to have the champion of the working man come from outside their own ranks. They have distance and time and resources and can see the "big picture" of what affects them in a way that those inside the group simply cannot. It is *better* for the working class to be led by one outside of and - due to the vagaries of historical legacy - above it.

Assuming you believe in them, one reason could be that ghosts are dead people who never finished the job. They didn't move on and there is some reason for it. If that reason involves *you* for some reason, it's pretty terrifying because you don't know what to do, you don't know how to be free of it, and you might not even know why you're involved - yet you're being haunted anyway.

I dunno, some of their "best and brightest", like the illegal alien from Ecuador who is Harris County's top official, and the illegal alien that became Austin, then Houston's and now Miami's police chief seem to have a penchant for Communism and utter hatred of Western Civilization.

In the meantime, we have the perpetual neo-luddites wringing their hands over the hypothetical displacement of an abundance of low/no skilled workforce with robots and AI.

Because like leftists they don't obey by the physical rules the rest of us have to follow. Plus more than a few people I think have concerns of just what happens after this life, and the idea it isn't one and done creates fear that there may be some sort of judgement coming, and their inner voice says they aren't prepared for the trial (not that of our own works any of us are).

If that reason involves *you* for some reason, it's pretty terrifying because you don't know what to do, you don't know how to be free of it, and you might not even know why you're involved - yet you're being haunted anyway.

If they exist, they defy physics (intangible) which is scary should they be angry/vengeful.

You should check out the Joe Rogan interview with Dan Akroyd. Akroyd is totally into ghosts and aliens (surprise, right?), and he talks about the friendly ghost that was in his LA home. He also, IIRC, mentions a lot of books/ghost "experts" that may be helpful in your research.

299 Central and S America don't care about the population leaving. Fifteen years ago the UN got involved in changing the adoption protocols for children being adopted by Americans. The concern was that too many of the kids were being torn from their native culture. The adoption industry in Guatemala was huge for example.
It provided jobs in the hospitality industry for all the adoptive families who would visit the country usually more than once. It provided money for the lawyers and bureaucrats who processed the paperwork. It supported the orphanages and foster families who provided the kids. It provided tourism dollars. All that crumbled when adoption procedures became more onerous and fewer families adopted children from south of the border. Families paid thousands to adopt a child. Today they could get an illegal for free, but you'd still have to do the paperwork.

"Margaret is fully vaccinated. Her mother, Edith, is, too.
But the state will not let them hug.
Edith lives in a nursing home, at Washington Center in Argyle. By current
state rules, the nursing home can only let her have visitors who stay 6
feet away. The visits must be supervised, to ensure the resident and
family member obey the rules. Logistically, that has led to limits: at
Washington Center, family members can sign up for one 30-minute

305 This is the Chinese way of doing things because they simply see "citizens" as widgets to serve gov't interests. Bad vaccine-a million die, meh, we got more where those came from.

I don't believe for one minute that this is unique to Communist Chinese culture. For example, look at how British military officers considered the fate of the foot soldiers in both World Wars. The officers sought to fight ruthless barbarians using gentlemanly methods which would absolutely guarantee the needless deaths of tens of thousands.

Churchill had a clandestine group of guys who were a cross between SEAL and MacGyver who were wildly successful in bringing technology to sneaky guerilla warfare. The military brass upon discovering how dirty tricks were winning the war were offended by it and spent much of their resources trying to sabotage the efforts of Churchill's irregulars from winning the war outside the rules of gentlemanly warfare.

Because, in fiction, they are assumed to have effects in the physical world.

But, if they just float around or show up at inconvenient times, they're merely a nuisance....like houseflies.

___

That is also the left's goal. They want the govt controlling rental properties. It is a bipartisan goal. The left gets control, the right gets billions for its developer paymasters.

The end goal is something like Obamacare where health insurance is technically "private" but it is really govt run. Aetna is a private company that sells policies. But those policies are controlled by the govt and indirectly paid for with govt subsidies to the buyer.

Rentals will be the same way. Blackrock will technically own and rent the units. But it will all be paid with Section 8 money.

That area of the country is super ghosty. Some times there are ten ghost tours going on at Gettysburg on a single night in the Summer. Ghost tours are a significant part of the town's economy. There were real legends that go back to the battle, the most famous was Iverson's Pits. People saw ghosts there way back in the 1800s.
Then a guy wrote a book called "The Ghosts of Gettysburg" It sold well, so he wrote "The Ghosts of Gettysburg 2" and on and on. Yes there is a 7th book of ghosts, an 8th book of ghosts, etc.

And lock up the market before that, which might be the actual goal. There is a massive impending problem with regard to housing prices (if you like high prices, anyway) and that is interest rates. Most people don't buy houses, they buy payments. Low interest rates let you spend more for the same payment. As interest rates increase (which they will have to at some point in order to deal with inflation in the absence of growth - even if it means private interest rates dislocate from official interest rates), housing prices *will* suffer and will likely suffer hugely. Piling on to achieve ideological objectives while the problems are masked by other mechanisms isn't a terrible strategy.

Plutarch, a playboy / explorer / historian, after speaking to a number of city leaders after the spread of the Gospel were mourning the silencing of their Oracles.

My wacked out hypothesis is that, in review of the mysterious Nephilim and of Elijah's contest against the priests of Ba'el and the Oracles up until the apostolic age, demonic spirits were common and the source of many mythologies around the world. Since then, the demons have "been bound until shortly before the Last Day" when they will be released to deceive the nations until the final return of The King of Kings.

So a sign of the imminent return is where the demons are released and we will see things that haven't been seen since 70AD, but were fairly normal before then.

Ignore them. That's hard to do, but ignore them to the best of your ability and soldier on doing the right thing for you and yours.

A somewhat tortured metaphor I am working on:
There is a titanic axle running through the center of the world. It is attached to a gearbox that keeps the works turning. It is old and it is worn and the gearbox is full of grit and gravel. It lurches and often results in nasty effects. It needs to be cleaned up and repaired, but you can't do it. The job is too big and too complex for anyone to actually handle.

So don't try. Focus on what's making you miserable and fix one thing at a time. Deal with the stone in your shoe that's giving you pain and callouses. If you do well, you'll be rid of that stone and your life will improve. And it just might turn out that the stone in your shoe was also a piece of grit in the gearbox that was binding up the axle - and the world will get a little bit better, too.

Zero dark thirty when I hear distant barking. It got nearer and nearer then a white luminescent dog like a husky ran a few circles around my post. Then it sped off as the barking died down.

368 Ghosts are scary for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is that they're dead and simply shouldn't be here. So instinctual supernatural dread. Though it's an inexact comparison, note that when angels show up in Scripture, they're always telling people not to be afraid, because you would be.

In literature, their ability to make themselves known to us is often limited. So they manifest in ways that are often alarming: creaks, groans, whispers, a shadow or touch that shouldn't be there. Their motives are hard to discern, and often seem less than friendly. Even when "benign," they mostly seem interested in selfishly using us to achieve their ends, which most people understandably want no part of.

384 There is a hotel across the way from Staples' HQ in Boston. Stayed there one night prior to a meeting there.

Woke up in the middle of the night to find a youngish man sitting in the chair next to the bed. When our eyes met I detected malice and angrily shouted "What do you want!?" and began to get out of the bed in preparation for violent contact.

Said young man dissolved into a mist or vapor and disappeared through the doorway into the outer room of the suite and disappeared. Never saw anything like that before or since.

386 Biden is blathering about restoring people faith in govt (hint: many of us never head very much to begin with) and thinks shots in arms and big checks will do the trick. Another hint: a vaccine of questionable need to fight a govt induced pandemic and floods of with borrowed money to ease the pain of govt forced shutdowns doesn't do much to restore my faith in govt.

But at least the idiots that love big govt will be be happy.

-----------
I know what you are saying, but I don't understand the thinking behind it. Many people have been unable to work for over a year. Waitresses, restaurant workers, beauticians, etc. What good does $1400.00 really accomplish? What about landlords who haven't been able to collect rent or evict? Are people really going to "make do" and be grateful? Go along to get along? s Sarah Palin says, only dead fish go with the flow

Posted by: Chillin the most at March 16, 2021 09:37 AM (lonOK)

387 The "Foreseeable Future" part is what scares me the most. The Phizer vaccine is providing great news about the vaccinations. Young children are the least prominent vectors of the coronavirus. There is no risk factor that would require children to go along with this charade.

I've tried discussing this with my daycare executive. I've talked to the state government employees about this. All I get is stupid emotional blackmail about how "PEOPLE WILL DIE!!!"

That's the thing that bothers me the most. I want to share my and my children's joys with my neighbors, but most things I would normally do to give me joy has been shut down due to panic. My church is effectively shuttered, most outdoor activities are cancelled, most opportunities for people to meet and talk with each other are postponed for the foreseeable future. This sucks.

396 @327:

Joe, much of this is predicated on the modus vivendi that the Fed will not raise interest rates In no small part because the USG could not service its debt. Obviously it cannot last but it is where things stand. The currency is being devalued as is common in the looting stage of a late empire. In turn, manupulators and their cronies with or attached to the Fed scoop up as much as they can while they can. BlackRock has made Bezos look like a piker.

This is a forcible taking that the 14th Amendment would have prevented when the United States was a constitutional republic based on the Rule of Law. As things now stand, private property can be seized and any complaints will result in persecution and possible prosecution. States may ignore the diktat but they had better be willing to both absorb and deploy violence because these folks ain't playing.

400 damn. late to the thread and you all are talking about ghosts!

true story- heard the ghost of my dog coming down the stairs shortly after she was killed by a vehicle. she had run away from the people caring for her when we were on a family vacation. she never had gotten used to being away from us (she was a springer spaniel and they can have some separation issues). anyway, she'd been missing and finally saw my mom looking for her near the highway. she ran to my mom and was killed.
later, don't recall if it was days or weeks, we heard the sound of something coming down the stairs and a dog chain rattling.
I tell my kids and wife this story. they don't believe me. my wife thinks we were all (me, my mom and her friend) were having some kind of hallucination. we weren't.
anyway, heard that a few times and then no more. this was some 35 years ago.

403 This came out towards the end of the Obama administration. Trump put it on hold. Here it comes again.

It is the other piece of the puzzle. You end single family zoning, force the construction of multiple family units, and end eviction from the multiple family units.

"'HUD has said that even quarter-acre (lot) single-family zoning, in their view, may very well be discriminatory and perpetuate "segregation,"' Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino told IBD. 'This is about changing every block, every neighborhood to the viewpoint of federal bureaucrats.'

"HUD plans to release 'geospatial' data of every U.S. neighborhood to show racial bias patterns.

"HUD says localities can 'overcome' such patterns in 'low-minority areas' by, among other things, 'amending a local land use or zoning law to remove barriers to the development of affordable housing in areas of opportunity,' where jobs, quality schools, parks and grocery stores are more plentiful.

"They can also satisfy regulators by expanding Section 8 subsidized housing in those areas."
