The Morning Report - 3/4/21 [J.J. Sefton]

daomingyen.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday, and as the Left continues its purge against Andrew "Angel of Death" Cuomo, albeit to cover up his mass murder of the elderly which would implicate four other key Democrat governors and in essence the party and its policies itself, a number of stories across several categories gel around the much more crucial story: the consolidation of power into absolute power by the Democrat-Leftist-Globalist axis.

First up, late last night the House passed this H.R. 1 bill, the so called "For the People Act" which guts the already festering corpse of the 9th and 10th Amendments by essentially nationalizing elections. I guess by "people" they mean their people. In perpetuity.

The bill creates a nationwide automatic voter registration program, which would likely result in double-registrations and the registration of non-citizens. In fact, H.R. 1 explicitly exempts from prosecution people who are "not eligible to vote in elections for Federal office but [were] automatically registered to vote" (Sec. 1015).

It allows felons who have completed their incarceration to vote. H.R. 1 also includes a new program providing for public financing of federal elections, matching small-dollar donations 6 to 1. The match would kick in for each grassroots contribution to a candidate up to $200. A $200 donation to a House candidate would garner a $1,200 match in public funds for a total contribution of $1,400, for example. The bill would reduce the number of members on the Federal Election Commission from 6 to 5. Democrats argue that this will allow the commission to avoid deadlock and do its job, but Republicans warn that this would make the FEC a "partisan weapon."

The bill would also require politically-active organizations, including 401(c)3 nonprofits, to disclose donors who give $10,000 or more; expand the definition of election-related communication; and reduce the influence of independent expenditure-only "super PACs." Such campaign finance regulations would limit Americans' ability to band together to advocate political causes they believe in.

While Democrats' railing against "dark money" has convinced Americans there is something inherently sleazy about groups of Americans spending money to advocate for causes they believe in, Americans do not lose their right to free speech when they enter the political arena. The mandated disclosure of an organization's donors, in particular, undercuts this fundamental right.

Well, thank goodness when this winds up at the Supreme Court, the justices will do their duty and the sanctity of the United States Constitution will prevail. If you believe that, I have a shit-ton of preferred stock from the Dr. Seuss Publishing Company I can let you have, cheap. The second story is supposedly a scratch formation of the 1st SS Panzer Division along with the Ozark goobers who buggered Ned Beatty in Deliverance are planning to storm the Capitol tomorrow. Full disclosure: my Secret Q-Anon Bullwinkle Enigma-to-Yiddish decoder ring deciphered the message "eep-opp-ork-ah-ah" as "don't forget to drink your Ovaltine, snap Titty Caca AOC's bra strap, and give Pelosi noogies hard enough to melt botox." Seriously, does anyone with half a functioning brain really believe this crap? Well, if it keeps the National Guard in DC eating salmonella-tainted Spam with iron filings and rat droppings while bivouaced in a garage, then that's the cost of freedom I suppose.

The U.S. Capitol Police have increased security because they obtained intelligence with a supposed credible threat against Capitol Hill. The attack is reportedly going to happen on March 4th, which is the original presidential inauguration day.

The United States Capitol Police Department is aware of and prepared for any potential threats towards members of Congress or towards the Capitol complex. We have obtained intelligence that shows a possible plot to breach the Capitol by an identified militia group on Thursday, March 4. We have already made significant security upgrades to include establishing a physical structure and increasing manpower to ensure the protection of Congress, the public and our police officers. Our Department is working with our local, state, and federal partners to stop any threats to the Capitol. We are taking the intelligence seriously. Due to the sensitive nature of this information, we cannot provide additional details at this time.

Nothing has happened since January 6th. Nothing close has happened since January 6th. Nothing happened on Inauguration Day! The Capitol Police already said they do not have a timeline to remove the barbed wire fencing around Capitol Hill. FOX 5 saw an email saying the National Guard could stay in DC until the fall... I am not the only one who can see through this power grab.

There is no Q-Anon, there is no threat to the government from "white supremacists" or "insurrectionists." The only racists and insurrectionists that exist are in the Democrat Party and the Leftist movement, who not coincidentally are in fact the very insurrectionists who have actually destroyed election integrity that they accuse us of wanting to do by insisting on voter ID among other things, and it is they who rigged the election and have seized control. So, institutionalize the degradation of laws that protect the franchise and now turn the already weaponized law enforcement and security agencies that took out President-in-Exile Trump against anyone and everyone who dares call them out on it.

Democrats attempted to impeach Trump even after he left office, and the January 6 riot fuels their ongoing jihad against Trump and his supporters. Led by Joe Biden, Democrats have now branded them as domestic terrorists. For Biden AG pick Merrick Garland, terrorist acts are only committed during the day, like the proceedings of January 6. For his part, Wray feigns an even-handed approach.

"We don't care what ideology motivates somebody," Wray told senators Tuesday. "We don't care whether it's left, right, up, down, diagonal or any other way. If the ideology is motivating violence and violates federal law we're coming after it." Again Wray leaves room for reasonable doubt.

The FBI boss kept rather quiet during riots across the nation in of 2020, headed by the Antifa-BLM axis. If the live-streamed murder of police officer David Dorn drew any outrage from Wray, nothing appears in the record. On Wray's watch, the FBI is also stonewalling the homicide investigation of DHS whistleblower Philip Haney, gunned down last year in California.

Clinton crony James Comey spearheaded FBI operations against Donald Trump. Comey crony Christopher Wray will spearhead FBI operations against Trump supporters. Trump saw it coming back in 2019. "They're not after me, they're after you," he said. "I'm just in the way."

I have to admit, I'm torn. Part of me thinks we have to do whatever we can, however we can to try and claw back politically from this; we can't just knuckle under and give up. But in the face of the Enemy now completely ignoring anything that even remotely resembles Constitutionality and worse, a Judicial system that has no problem rubber stamping the fraud (I refer you to Oregon Muse's outstanding rant yesterday on this depressing angle) and thugs and enforcers outside of government eager to be Junior "G" Men - "G" for Gestapo - I cannot see a way forward that entails elections or any sort of normal, civil discourse. Indeed, that is as dead as the nation formerly known as the United States of America.

Pray. And keep your powder dry.

7 These governors, county commissioners and city mayors who all demanded unconstitutional lockdowns, forced institutionalizations and other things that could not ever be passed by legislation should also take full responsibility for the outcomes.

There is a reason why the Founders did not make provision for these kinds of direct attacks on liberty and freedom against We The People - because it would be tyranny. And tyrants rarely suffer the consequences for their evil.

There must be eye-for-an-eye consequences for using the powers of the police state to compel people to do things that harms or even kills them.

Maybe that will cause the next batch of petty tyrants and despots a moment of reflection before making decisions that kill thousands, destroy millions and cost trillions.

10 Good morning, all. Kudos (in all seriousness) to GOPe leader McCarthy for keeping all his troops on the reservation on the almost straight party-line vote on this "election" monstrosity - not that elections matter anymore.

Perhaps related - I wonder what these guys know that the rest of us don't, given that they're projecting the USA to lose 228-million in population by 2025, as well as the remaining denizens of this dirt losing about 70% of our purchasing power.

23 Morning peeps. Beautiful weather (finally) has arrived in the Bluegrass. I got a yuge brush pile ready to go.

It occurs to me that one of the reasons Cuomo is on the hot seat is the persistent poking he received from one Janice Dean of FOX. I think her voice had a little more volume because of that. I'm not saying she and she alone was the cause of Party Tit's downfall, but she sure helped.

Now, if there were other like minded media or political personalities in the states where the governors made similar decisions that would ramp up accusations you might see some movement there as well.

There are different answers to this in each case but responsible conservative prospective parents should plan on either homeschooling their children or being able to afford to send them to a good private school when considering having children. Nah, this is MO, where water leaks only cancel school.

And a good thing did get done yesterday. At least once a semester, a homeschool co-op stands on the steps of a city church and prays the Rosary for an end to abortion while the kids parade the sidewalk with pro-life signs. Not a single insult hurled or disagreement with the local populace was had, and the neighborhood is decidedly liberal. Many waves, thumbs-up gestures (with the proper appendage, not the one reserved for our current junta) and other signs of support. I'm old enough to remember when the "smart" set thought fighting abortion was divisive. At least in MO, this fight brings many together.

65 Good morning

>>"Why are parents desperate to return their precious offspring to the degenerate hands of the public-school system?"

That's a dumb question, really.
First, kids need to see and have fun with their friends again. The social isolation is damaginging them.

Seccond, getting kids back inschool enabled parents to get back to work 100%/

Third, depending on the governor's policies, school shutdown orders have affected private schools's ability to be open; if oublic schools re-open then private schools are also open.

Yes, public schools suck and no one should put their kids in them. Punishing kids right now amidst a bunch of other pandemic issues (job losses, etc) and then saying "Well schools suck anyway!" is piling on. I would imagine a lot of parebts who still have kids in public schools are figuring out how to change that, but in the meantime, we need to get the economy up and running and kids back in a healthy socially life.

But we all know Tax Day.

78 Mr. Hick, the long-standing problem in this country is that too many people work for our government or their institutions, like schools. There is no mechanism before an election (heh) for them to suffer for their decisions. You drive unemployment to whatever percent? Maybe your salary should go down to some percentage. Even this week ADP reported that on 117k private sector jobs were created in January, an awful number. But no worries, 103k government jobs were added. Now I know it can't be a direct relationship, but does anyone think the 117,000 will pay enough taxes to support nearly as many government workers?

104 Mike Pence (born 1959), like his (former) boss, is a Boomer CivNat. They were (and still are) incapable of doing anything, or even thinking about doing anything, that falls outside of the very small, well defined set of things in the Civic Nationalist toolbox - write your CONgressman, campaign, voter harder, trust the Courts, etc.

When confronted with the obvious theft of a national election they reached into their limited toolbox and found nothing that said "In Case Of Massive Systemic Failure..." because Civic Nationalists don't believe Massive Systemic Failures can happen because rules, because Constitution, because MUH NORMZ.

Pence (and Trump) were both disappointments, on that score, of course, but at least it's understandable as we're all products of our raisin'. That they seem to have learned fuck-all from this process however, is disqualifying for future leadership.

We may, at some point, be able to afford civics people again. But now is not the time for that.

Think about the proportion of our countrymen and women in these categories, with the description of woman not to be confused with being sluttish alone. We are in trouble.

IIRC Pence was chosen because is was low key swamp. Trump didn't pick him. Pence was selected FOR Trump, as were most, if not all, of his administration. I still think this was Trump's biggest mistake. For him to let this type of "administrative task" go on behind his back while he wheeled and dealed with heads of state was poor management. I think Trump thought it wouldn't matter in the end as that's how he ran his business. He made deals while the "little people" tended to the details.

This is the problem. The misapplication of "science" into public policy.

If "science" told me that putting antibiotics into my chickens would prevent a certain disease, and the cost of the antibiotics was good insurance against the risks, then I could use that knowledge to decide to apply that to my chickens.

The problem here is: People are not chickens; people are of the Imago Dei, and in either case we are not the disposable property of politicians.

When politicians stop seeing us as sovereign individuals with our own minds, hearts and souls and see us as chattel, or worse, prisoners in need of constant micromanaging, then we get what we are seeing today.

regarding schooling, sure home schooling is preferred, but for those of us who can't it's imperative that we take a decided interest in what the schools are teaching. i feel like i've done a pretty good job keeping my son on the right path despite what his school, and his mom, have tried to plug into him when he's not with me. remember, we can beat a lot of the programing with active participation.

164 The House bill on elections must go now to the Senate and is not eligible for reconciliation. So, the question is whether the Dems will risk nuking the filibuster to do it. If the Senate nukes the filibuster, then Katy bar the door--packing courts, legalization of illegals, and so on but that will probably destroy the remains of whatever regime legitimacy left.

BTW, if you are on Social Security and Medicare--under such situations, be afraid. Scotus has already ruled that both of those programs and their recipients are subject to changes in congressional law regarding benefits and even access to those programs. You have no individual right to these benefits even if you paid into the program throughout your life--your right is collective and subject to new laws passed by Congress, it is not vested.

I have trouble making eye contact with masked people. Maybe I am the weird one, but I find the masks drop everyone into the Uncanny Valley and I don't even really see masked people in public as fully-formed human people. I have to force myself to make eye contact with masked people, and I don't usually do so. The exception is if I'm one-on-one with someone for a while (the dentist, my insurance agent, etc.) - the time involved allows me to overcome the Uncanny Valley problem, perhaps, but those transient interactions do not.

181 In light of what is happening to the schools, I wish I could get across the concept of eliminating all public schools in favor of pure vouchers.

Parent(s) would receive a voucher in the ballpark of $20,000/yr/student. After that, it's up to the free market. The only provision for the parent to keep receiving the voucher is that their child passes the test at the end of the year for their grade level. If the kid fails, the parent has one year to catch them up and also pass the next year's test. If the child fails again, a professional education adviser gets the voucher and makes the decisions on how it's spent.

Existing schools would be bulldozed. No certification of anyone who wants to teach. Whoever the parent decides to hire to teach their kids handles everything.

If someone wanted to home school, they keep the money.

219 It is relatively easy to determine when Republicans lost their guts on Capitol Hill, trace it to the rise of the surveillance state.

Essentially, the Deep State has big data of pretty much everything and the ability to run google like searches for individuals that tie up who they talk to, how long, where their credit cards have been used , their geolocation, bill payments, text messages, email headers, credit ratings, and so on. This is the publicly admitted surveillance.

Then there is access via secret clearance files if they held a sensitive position in the military and/or government, which includes direct conversations with neighbors, admittance of wrongful acts, and so on. More questions as you go up the ladder.

Plus, add in the helpful folks at Googul, Microsofff, Fakebook, Ebay, Amazonia, and the myriad ad placement reporting that compile individual dossiers of search histories, emails including content, web site access, and so on. Android is basically a spyware program disguised as a phone operating system for example. How many of you actually trust that your microphone on your phone or smart tv/alexa/nest/and so on are actually off and not recording?

If this passes, we need to all:

1) set up a campaign for the House
2) Set up a campaign consulting company, controlled by close friends or children.
3) Donate all our spare cash to our own campaigns. Every penny.
4) Collect matching funds.
5) Spend all the campaign funds on consulting fees with our captive companies.

See: Bernie Sanders, any number of others. The "campaign consulting" scam is the most lucrative one since the "charitable foundation" scam.

The test is a necessary compromise so that the taxpayers get value for their money. Everyone can agree on certain standards that (for example) an 8 year old should be able to read and write at a certain level, they should be able to basic math, have a preliminary knowledge of geography and history.

Yes, it's not the ideal for every little snowflake, but we can't just give money away without checking the results.

Most existing home schoolers will be so far ahead of these standards that it wouldn't be a factor.

They don't. Essentially the entire testing regime has to change for any valid online assessments.

Multiple choice testbanks or even short answer are essentially useless for this sort of schooling because simply the monitoring of ips, video of students taking the exam in real time, and so on, becomes so onerous that no teacher will willingly use it except as a post hoc investigation. Not worth it on a quiz or even a bi weekly exam. Plus, a school administration has to be swift and sure to punish people with tech 'breakdowns' that might be caused by the student versus actual real ones.

293 Stop all public education, give up on it, it's a
failed experiment. Fire all the teachers, burn all the schools down.
Let parents figure out how to get their kids educated - or not. Even
if they never do anything at all and the kids grow up illiterate and
ignorant, they still won't be any worse than what public schools are
producing now.

I get it, truly. But what I can't ignore are all the children for whom school is their only safe place. It's the only time they are not with their abuser. It's the only reprieve they have. We're talking little kids. If it were not for school, I do not know if I would be here today.

If we want something to happen we need an organizational structure to achieve it that is not tied to the Republican party.

This requires money - lots of money. The hard left started smaller with some money from billionaires and laundered federal money, but now they have more money then they know what to do with.

Any time a Republican suggests something like this they get shot down by the GOPe, which is not surprising.

Pederasty is a thing that destroyed the program on the House side but the blast from the Foley actions in 2006 helped destroy any momentum to keep the House in the fall elections despite Foley resigning his seat.

Robert Livingston apparently was a member of an exclusive sex club involving swinging in NO and had the shortest tenure of Speaker ever. The strings are that the kid has to learn to read, write, make change for a dollar and all the other things any reasonable person expects from a basic education. We, as a society, need to provide an incentive to teach these kids so that we don't have to support them when they are adults.

Suburban schools are not a very big part of the problem. Urban schools, such as Baltimore, turn out kids that after 12 years of education can't do anything. I would actually provide more money ($30,000/yr) for inner city kids. Let the mother have the cash in exchange for schooling the kids. If she has 4 kids, that's $120,000/yr to work with.

But like I said, the kids have to pass the test.

I don't think they even give "F"s anymore. What they would do is set the kid up with an IEP ("Individualized Education Plan") which would lower the standards that the kid needs to meet. Schools get additional money for each student with an IEP.

So you end up with schools were the brightest / top of the class are OK (might have special programs, might have those special programs cut for being "racist") and the bottom which are filled with IEPs. The kids in the middle get nothing special.

In Baltimore, not one boy in the entire school district could pass a test for math at grade level. We're talking thousands of kids.

By eliminating traditional schools and abandoning the education-industrial complex, we can get away with this crazy concept that teaching can be taught. Teaching is a talent, much like having the ability to sing. It's not something that can be bestowed on someone with an education degree.

The ability to connect with another human being and transfer knowledge, being able to make someone understand concepts and processes, is unique. As with singing, you can spend years getting a degree in music appreciation, but in the end, you'll still sing off key.

347 Regarding kids in school, the literacy rate for colonial America with few formal schools was 80-90 percent. Schools do not make for literacy. The onus, as always, whether a school exists or not, is for the individual to want to learn rather than be a passive individual.

Posted by: Truck Monkey Report at March 04, 2021 09:18 AM (flINI)

371 356 andycanuck, the media is the Democratic party PR department.

The question is whether the Dems will nuke the filibuster in order to pass this. Even the Republicans Senators will balk at this bill because it will doom all of them from getting any more sweet grift even in currently safe seats.

So, it is a real test for Schumer and the few swing Dems like Sinema and Manchin whether or not to nuke the filibuster or to upset the left AOC coalition.

Nanzi's house is going to keep serving up these bills like a court packing bill, and so on to the Senate. I think in part, to cause the filibuster to die because each subsequent filibuster will cause the left to go nuts over the Senate balking over one or another leftist dream being stopped.

So why is Nanzi doing this? To undermine Schumer because with the filibuster gone, neither Schumer nor McConnell will have much importance anymore other than scheduling. Is it to placate the AOC coalition while not accomplishing what could be done? Dunno.

Academic performance has suffered dramatically and proportionally as less in-person instruction is given. The job, wage and overall economic prospects for an entire generation of children has been greatly diminished.

This is the Democrats plan for America- to destroy it starting with your children. They want to make their occupation of government permanent, so you have no choices.

Parents know this better than anyone. You can't hide it. That's why they are trying to take all the decisions out of your hands with bills like H.R. 1, which will make corruption endemic to the system, so your voting against this despotism won't matter.

Any person who put a Democrat in power with their vote should think long and hard about their future, their children's future and our nations future. Because as long as Democrats rule, those will all slip further away.

In all fairness to Venezuela, the previous big political parties had become so blatant in corruption that people voted in a strong man (Chavez) that had previously tried to launch an abortive coup against the regime that failed.

Chavez came to power with a popular majority to destroy the existing regime, no such thing has been demonstrated for Biden.

Chavez did it and in fine authoritarian fashion, like Erdogan, considers that democracy is a bus, when you reach your stop, you get off. Thus, ensuring the first election that gets you power is the last meaningful one.

I just can't see HR1 surviving any suit brought on constitutional grounds because the SC would be saying they have no role any more if they uphold it.

436 "The counter argument by the Dems is the time place and manners language in the Constitution itself plus the 15th Amendment.

The key is whether or not the Senate will nuke the filibuster because a court packing bill will not be far behind that event.
Posted by: whig at March 04, 2021 09:36 AM (pO7gM)"

I am not seeing the 15th Amendment angle. There seems to be enough jurisprudence and case law related to Article 1 that it would curb stomp any other argument. Plus if you look at potential outcomes, it would rob the states of rights duly assigned in the Constitution.

It is utterly embarrassing that "pay people enough to live" is a stance that's even up for debate.

Override the parliamentarian and raise the wage. McD's workers in Denmark are paid $22/hr + 6 wks paid vacation. $15/hr is a deep compromise - a big one, considering the phase in.

There is one thing Ocasio-Cortez's argument left out, though: Denmark doesn't have a nationally mandated minimum wage. Typically, trade unions work to keep wages above $20, but there is no federal wage, USA Today noted in a fact check last month.

438 The Elaine Chao IG report about relatively mild abuses of power and/or misuse of government resources is pretty telling on the DC system.

On one hand, the abuses are nitpicks and of the sort probably 95% of Cabinet secretaries also do, so it points outs that the lefty federal department functionaries probably just had a hard-on for hurting Mitch McConnell (Chaos's husband).

On the other hand, Chao has been in and around government leadership for multiple decades, so you'd like to think she would have learned by now not to misuse government resources ... but it seems the opposite. Then finally to top it off, no prosecution for misuse of government resources ... because? Certainly not because higher ups realized Mitch McConnell still has a bunch of power.

441 167 I continue to be alarmed at how many more people I see in masks now than I did last summer. I would have thought most people would be sick of them and doubting the continued pandemic theater. Instead, it's being accepted as the new normal, I think?

Correction: HR 1 is the poison pill to kill off free and fair elections and the country.

443 436, The Dems will argue that people of color are disadvantaged from registering and voting with current rules via disparate impact analysis which has been recognized by Scotus as a valid indication of racial discrimination.

The rule of interpretive construction is that whatever is in the Constitution has to be read in such a way as to not conflict with later amendments. So, the fact that Motor Voter was not successfully challenged along with later HAVA actions regarding elections, give the patina of legality that Scotus, especially Dred Justice Roberts, cover to rule for the federal government.

444 The past century has lined up elections at the edge of a pit with a pistol to the back of it's head.

2020 pulled the trigger and blew it's brains out.

445 Last night on Stacy on the Right she had on a labor expert who was describing the labor bill the Dems in the House are resurrecting to pass next week. It repeals all 27 Right to Work statutes currently in place and then makes any future Right to work laws passed by any state illegal. Forever. They passed this thing last October and it died in the Senate.

446 People are wearing masks out of fear. Fear that has been instilled in them for going on a year now. It will take even longer for people to let go of that fear, if ever. They blinded the masses with fear and fake science. It always works.

447 203 >>I have trouble making eye contact with masked people. Maybe I am the weird one, but I find the masks drop everyone into the Uncanny Valley and I don't even really see masked people in public as fully-formed human people.

Masks greatly inhibit nonverbal communication, such as smiling, etc.. People act differently when masked.

448 433 Nick, the problem for a Dem senator is that once the filibuster is done, then the Senate becomes effectively a smaller House of Representatives and each member loses their individual powers which affects grifting and campaign funding (which some grift from directly).

I can actually see that fellow senior Dems encourage Sinema or Manchin from behind the scenes to screw up attempts to get rid of the filibuster and probably Schumer himself.

The power of the majority and minority leader is control over the floor of the Senate and the filibuster is part of that. So, senators get a lot of grift that House members don't so as prevent legislation as much as to pass legislation. Convert it to a straight party regime, it changes the nature of the deal with the majority and minority leader. The minority leader becomes like in the House, a non-entity. The majority leader, would more or less be a mere puppet of the majority.

The question is whether Dems are ready to declare democracy over until the Republicans begin to cheat as much as the Dems which happened in the Midwest and New York in rural areas during the 1870's to 1900 or so.

Posted by: whig at March 04, 2021 09:53 AM (pO7gM)

449 448. I agree. And for the right price, the 71 year old Manchin will fold like a cheap tent. Sinema is really all that stands in the way, as she will have to live with the real fallout.

Every time Slow Joe and Jenny Psaki talk about the coming wave of green jobs, they refer to them as "good union jobs." The Dems will nuke Right-to-Work if they can, and all House bills for infrastructure and green crap will require only unionized employees get the jobs funded by the bills.
