Well, he left for a construction job and I never replaced him, so we hired out the snow plowing and the truck just sat. A young guy from the business next door asked about it and after assessing that he didn't have any money, I sold it to him without the plow for $4000 at $50 per week. That worked for about the first 5 or 6 weeks.
Now, it's been months since I've seen any money so I went over looking for him yesterday. His boss said he's off for a week because his kid is in the hospital.
Fuck.
So much for that truck.

I don't share your feelings. I live in Wisconsin and hate winter. It would help if I skied, I'm sure (we do have our bunny hills to ski on). Or skated. I'm of the age where I look at snow and ice and think of falls not fun, but I wish I enjoyed it like you do. I'd be much happier.

We just went the other way after being back open with 50% capacity after a grand total of 10 DAYS of being off of curbside only. Apparently our mayor was flipping out about variants, but mainly I think it was he was getting a ton of flack about people driving from the Toronto area to eat and shop here.
Boy, how terrible.
Now we are going to remain open at 25% capacity (that'll show COVID!) but all restaurants and hair salons have to close again just after they started to gear up for in-person business.

I've had the 1st shot - Moderna - and am scheduled for the 2nd shot in a couple weeks. The first shot made me sick to my stomach. I basically got it because my daughter dragged me to the hospital and shoved me to the head of the line. She's one of the nurses doing the vaccinations. I just wanted the nagging to stop.

I would not take the MRNA vaccine, from whatever party makes it. Still much too unproven. If the Johnson and Johnson "conventional" vaccine comes to market, I personally would accept that. But I really don't feel the need for a vaccine at all.

I had a friend go through the legal ramifications of allowing someone to drive a vehicle they owned for an extended period of time. All was well until said person had a head on collision with someone who was killed in the crash. They spent a year in court being sued by the victim's family and insurance company being held responsible since they still owned said vehicle as title never transferred. Court decided the driver was not responsible for the accident , but it took thousands of dollars of hiring experts, and additional specialty lawyers to get through it .
Lesson learned? DO not hold title on vehicles you allow someone else to use unless it's a child etc. and your insurance is fully on board. And if you sell a vehicle, demand full cash payment up front prior to releasing vehicle to them and transferring title.

My neighbor bought a well built shed from me a few years ago. I just told him to pay me 50 bucks a month or have his teenage kid come over and do some yardwork for me occasionally, for which is pay the kid and also take off the balance.
Never saw the kid and he never paid me a dime for a year. I went over and told him to get all his crap out of my building, got a mover to come and move it to my yard and now use it for a shop.

The wife and I got the same call from the VA and decided to get the shot. Gut feeling says at some point in the not to distant future you are going to need that card to get on a plane or take a cruise. We were planning on taking a cruise this summer or next, so we decided to get the shot.

I'd have him sign a promissory note, with some modicum of interest, and sign the title over.
You can then decide what to do with the note, but the onus of still owning the truck officially is gone.

The wife and I got the same call from the VA and decided to get the shot. Gut feeling says at some point in the not to distant future you are going to need that card to get on a plane or take a cruise. We were planning on taking a cruise this summer or next, so we decided to get the shot.

No hiss. Cardboard insert inside screw on lid, holding down sealed waxed paper over mouth of jar, so I'd expected atmosphere had still long since migrated both ways. But this particular coffee was dosed with dextrose (powdered sugar) which along with dryness helped preserve it. Caffeine kick was unaffected.
Five hours later, no symptoms, ready for lunch.

They're going after churches and synagogues for not officiating marriages between same-sex couples in which the bride or groom is trans. I've read three different articles about the conflict, particularly with an attempt to explain the "holy" marriage away.
Funny thing is that the Catholic Church has rules in place for trans-men wanting to take holy orders. Basically, "no, but here's an alternate consecrated life open to everyone."

The problem with FuckEx is that nearly every piece of freight is routed through Memphis and there was a pretty bad Ice Storm a couple weeks ago and they still haven't recovered.
Also, the company is working at 30% capacity in Memphis because the natives aren't showing up for work--or got better-paying jobs with Amazon, who also have a presence there.
Don't ask me how I know, but I wouldn't be surprised if Amazon buys FedEx is a few years.

I've had both Moderna shots and feel fine. Had one day of muscle pain after second shot cured by taking a Tylenol. Had worse pain overdoing my exercise routine.
If you are not taking the shot for political reasons instead of medical ones, just recognize that that is what you are doing.

Some churches are only conducting marriages if you are a member of the church. (Church membership rules apply). Some churches are getting out of the marriage business altogether. You go get your official marriage certificate from the Justice of the Peace, then go have a religious ceremony in your church if desired. That way the Church is not performing the actual marriage.

I was giving the P30 to a guy in exchange for work. Let him and his pregnant girlfriend stay here, gave them food and some cash to get back on their feet.
He didn't do any work, left food to rot in the garage and shed. Took off without saying thanks with the Dewalt drill combo I'd just bought. It's a small price to pay to never see him again. Not doing any work is a big red flag.

The vaccine in NOT right for every person. It should be based on your personal health situation. It's why they don't recommend it to people under 18. Even if you have other health issues, depending on how severe they are the potential vaccine effects (i.e. Moderna #2) could be debilitating to your overall health.
You should really take the time to educate yourself on what this vaccine does, and what the potential adverse impacts are. Make an informed decision before you run around with the other lemmings trying to get a shot likes it's a winning lottery ticket.

Oh Gawwd...it has been decades since I had great menudo. My uncle Nacho took us to a tiny Mexican joint in east L.A., can't remember the name. Had a small bowl (wasn't really small) menudo with red chili broth. Was going to order another, but machaca plate arrived. It too was awesome. I recall it being kitty corner from a church. With a long line after mass. Had to wait a half hour to get inside. It was worth it. Good Times...good times.
