My MIL was a saint-a follower of Jesus who raised six kids including her own granddaughter when her daughter had a child out of wedlock and was unable to care for her, all the while having a alcoholic husband who worked but then came home and drank himself into a stupor. When she died people in her apt complex came to the viewing and funeral to express how she had given money to help them through various difficulties-something her family didn't know about. She helped shape my husband to be the wonderful man he is. Thanks, Dorothy.

Their pastor gave a sermon last week that was a grad-level dissection of the duties and rights of government and he was arrested and jailed immediately thereafter. Great sermon and if you haven't heard it, it is linked right at their site. He is in solitary confinement right now. Also, the church has an outstanding written statement up that is a quicker explanation of current events.

I saw this in 2007. Took until 2011 to convince my wife to move.

FWIW, a group here tried 13 years ago to put principled pragmatics in local offices. They had some success, with a majority on the County Commission, and earlier a majority on the City Commission. I am the only one left in office.

We have another who started with us, and he has turned to the dark side under pressure.

The rest were targeted and removed. I even infiltrated the Dems recall meetings, before I became better known. They feel that are the only ones who should have power. Forever.

So 4 years with the County Commission, and three with the City Commission. A lot of effort, but we are out of power now.

Nothing coming from any governmental organization concerning climate or weather can be trusted. IIRC 12-18 months ago noaa refused to provide the core data it's using for temperatures. All they would release is the adjusted data.

I think I liked my Mother in Law more than my wife did. She gave me some of the best marital advice I've received "marriages work when both parties do what's necessary to make it work". 226 Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but since everyone else reported, it's 52 here. The high today is 68. Yes, the high was 27 six days ago. This is why we can't tolerate cold in TX - no chance to acclimate.

(I like it that way, though. I spend 3-4 months of the year shivering as it is, and when I was 9 months pregnant in August, in Houston, I still wore a sweatshirt in my office and went outside for a few minutes every hour so I could warm up enough to get enough feeling back in my fingers to type. I would LOVE to move to the tropics someday, bugs notwithstanding.)

This is nothing new in Canada, as Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn can attest to. Their persecution started way back in 2006 when they got crossways with Canada's human right tribunal or some such bullshit. It's an eye opening read.

234 I read some article about the Pastor in Canada who was jailed. Some person also posted a tweet "what have we become?" These people need to stop wondering why other nations have followed bad causes in the past and see how easy it is for them to do, too. Fear of the powers that be is all it takes. The more they say they'll take from you, the more compliant you become, it seems.
It's also interesting that religious services are targeted but the churches and synagogues here can still run nursey schools an rent space for yoga classes.

I should consider that here. The joint I go to is expensive, but the equipment is new and they have an area set aside for vacuuming and detailing. They also provide towels, window cleaner and have compressed air lines to blow out vents, get water out of cracks, etc.
