The Quotes of The Day

Quote I

'I was looking around and it just popped up and I thought 'wow, that really looks like a man's parts'. Joleen Vultaggio

Quote II

"Also, I wanted to remind the public that no benevolent government should forbid autonomous adults from altering their consciousness, as long as it does not infringe on the rights of others." Dr. Carl Hart

Quote III

"I think it's a very appropriate way to think of it, so it is directly related to the warming, even though your instinct is to say, wait a minute, this is the new Ice Age. But it's not. It is coming from the global warming and it threatens all the normal weather patterns."John F. Kerry

Quote IV

Well, they should be doing it by paying people low wages. We don’t want low-wage businesses. Most successful small businesses can pay a fair wage. If you look at the minimum wage, it increased with worker productivity until 1968, and that relationship was severed. If workers were actually getting paid for the value they were creating, it would be up to $23. I love small businesses, I’m all for it, but I don’t want small businesses that are underpaying employees. It’s fair for people to be making what they’re producing. I think $15 is very reasonable in this country.” Representative Ro Khanna (D-CA)

Let that sink in...........

Quote V

“It is clear U.S. President Joe Biden is not up to the task he has been sworn in to do."

“Never before has the leader of the Free World been so cognitively compromised,” Sky News host Cory Bernardi

Read and then re-read the following sentence and tell me if it gives you pause. He had, to William’s knowledge, cut off over a dozen men’s testicles by that point, with few if any complications.

Inside the World of Backstreet Castrators, Cutters and Eunuch-Makers

The Daily Beast got an unprecedented look at the world of backstreet castrations where people desperate to have genitalia altered or removed undergo risky, illicit operations.

In 2018, William, a thoughtful, handsome guy in his late twenties with an eye for design and architecture, took a train up from his home in Baltimore to New York to meet a man he’d been chatting with online for a few months. They had dinner, checked into a hotel near Times Square with a nice view of the Hudson River, and got all showered up and clean. Then, the man placed a restrictive band around William’s genitals and injected them with lidocaine. Once William was fully numb, the man sliced open his scrotum, cut off one of his testicles, and cauterized the testicular artery. He would have cut out William’s remaining testicle as well, but his cauterizing tool died. So, he sutured William up instead.

Slowly, but surely, the 3D printing world is opening up Pandora's box. YOU CAN NOW 3D PRINT AN ENTIRE SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE AT HOME. THE TOTAL COST — INCLUDING THE 3D PRINTER — IS ABOUT $350.

3D-printed guns, or functional firearms that can be mostly or entirely manufactured at home with a 3D printer, are getting more sophisticated and more dangerous.

For a long time, 3D-printed guns were still quite slapdash. Early homemade handguns would break apart after firing once, and they served as more of a symbolic middle finger to government firearm regulation than a tangible threat. But they’re getting steadily more advanced, Slate reports. Now, a prominent 3D-printed gun community plans to unveil the designs for a functional, upgraded assault rifle early this year.

Sounds good to me, I'm pro 2nd Amendment.

Can your Tesla, Volt or Leaf do this? Nah, I didn't think so. Hybrid Ford F-150 powering Texas homes without electricity.

As detailed on the F150gen14.com forum, a user in the lower half of Texas says they lost power for three days; while neighbors set up a conventional backup generator to keep their critical home functions rolling, this forum poster busted out their 2021 Ford F-150 Platinum PowerBoost Hybrid. Using the onboard power-supply setup—which is powered by both the batteries and the engine—as a generator, the owner ran extension cords from the pickup to their kitchen to power a few lights, a toaster oven, a space heater, and the fridge.

It sounds as though the F-150 went above and beyond the call of basic duty, also powering a 75-inch TV, a coffee maker, and a freezer for "10-12 hours per day." Keep in mind, temperatures in the area were hovering in the teens during most of this time. The Ford owner says the F-150's hybrid powertrain only chewed through a few gallons of gasoline during this period and noted how the engine would come on and turn off periodically to keep the batteries onboard juiced up. The setup proved quieter than the neighbors' traditional portable generator, according to the user, and thanks to the truck's much larger fuel tank, didn't need to be refueled at least twice per day.

He recently ripped "Cocaine Mitch" a new asshole. I wonder what Donny Two-Scoops is going to talk about a week from today at CPAC.

Former President Trump will be a keynote speaker at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Orlando, Fla., his first public speaking engagement since leaving the White House, a spokesman for the organization confirmed to The Post on Saturday.

Trump is scheduled to speak on Sunday, Feb 28, the last day of the conference.

Trump’s speech will focus on “the future of the Republican Party and the conservative movement,” a source close to the former president told The Post.

Normally you can't shame politicians. Let alone get them to resign. Not the case in Oakley, CA.

OAKLEY — It started with profanity, jokes about parents just wanting a babysitter or to smoke pot in their homes, and then came the horrible realization by the elected officials making these remarks that they were on a live video stream being broadcast to the public.

And now, the three-day saga that has garnered national attention and widespread condemnation has resulted in the resignation of the entire Oakley Union Elementary School District Board, according to a letter Friday from the district’s superintendent, Greg Hetrick. He wrote that county education board members will replace the board in an interim capacity.

“We deeply regret the earlier comments that were made in the meeting of the Board of Education earlier this week,” a joint statement by now ex-board members Kim Beede, Erica Ippolito and Richie Masadas says. “As trustees, we realize it is our responsibility to model the conduct that we expect of our students and staff, and it is our obligation to build confidence in district leadership; our comments failed you in both regards, and for this we offer our sincerest apology.”

Beede, Ippolito and Masadas join board president Lisa Brizendine, who announced her resignation late Thursday.

Good old Disney. Kermit The Frog and Miss Piggy are now adult content.

Disney has decided that “The Muppet Show” — featuring Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear and Miss Piggy — contains “offensive content” and can now be seen only on an adult account.

When viewers open the streaming service, which made five series available last Friday, viewers are greeted with the disclaimer: “This program includes negative depictions and/or mistreatment of people or cultures. These stereotypes were wrong then and are wrong now,” the Daily Mail reported.

There has to be a, "Where does a bear shit" joke here somewhere. H/T Isophorone Blog

It was a bare-bottomed blitz.

Alaskan native Shannon Stevens was attacked by a black bear when she went to relieve herself in the outhouse near her brother’s yurt on Saturday night, Feb. 13.

Following a rustic dinner of sausages cooked on an open fire and a day of snowmobiling to the remote hideaway near Chilkat Lake, Stevens became one with nature — to a dangerous degree — when she faced the wild animal hiding out in her brother Erik’s latrine.

“I got out there and sat down on the toilet and immediately something bit my butt right as I sat down,” Shannon said, according to the Daily Mail. “I jumped up and I screamed when it happened.”

I guess mice and spiders aren't so bad in a privy after all.

Shop until you drop, or get cuffed and stuffed. Genius Award Winners.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. – A couple was caught allegedly stealing lamb and a variety of seafood from a Naples Costco by shoving it in their pants and purse.

Lucrezia Gentile, 71, and Vito Gentile, 76, part-time Florida residents from Brooklyn, New York, were arrested on Thursday.

A witness told Collier County deputies she saw the couple conceal multiple items and leave the store without paying for them. She said she saw Vito fold a halibut package in half it place it in Lucrezia’s purse. Crab legs and clams also were allegedly placed into Lucrezia’s purse.

Vito was reportedly seen placing lamb down his pants. The couple walked through the Costco, paid for several items and left.

I hope he cried like a little girl. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day.

The survival mindset involves a lot of things, not the least of which includes using improvised weapons when necessary to defend your life. An 82-year-old Marine Corps veteran did just that in recent days. After seeing an intruder slash his wife’s face with a large knife, Herbert Parrish grabbed an unloaded shotgun from a wall mount and beat the violent intruder to death with it.

No doubt getting pummeled to death ranks right up there with getting stoned to death among the most unpleasant ways to exit this mortal coil. However, for the intruder, 61-year-old Harold Runnels, Jr., it came about as a result of a series of epic poor choices Monday afternoon in Jackson, South Carolina

19 The F-150 generator story is cool. If you happen to own a diesel tractor with a PTO (Power Take Off) there are generators that run off that. My little BX series, a "sub compact" tractor will run a 3Kw generator. I've no idea how large the generators go, but I've read about 10 - 15Kw availability for larger machines.

An interesting possibility since tractors are typically just sitting around, doing nothing, most of the time.

And there's no cord to pull to start.

It infringes on my rights when I have to pay taxes to feed and house the children of junkies, much less what we pay to take care of the junkies themselves. How much of California's homeless problem is junkies, and what are they spending per year to deal with them?

43 They forgot bought and paid for protesters
and there is something fishy about this attack on Cruz

Angry protesters (main) holding signs reading 'Cancun Cruz must resign' and 'Cruz's lies cost lives' descended on the senator's $2million Houston home on Sunday following his Mexican jaunt. About 30 protesters from the group Houston United Front Against Fascism showed up outside the house he shares with his wife Heidi and two daughters in the River Oaks neighborhood at around 1pm and let their let their voices be heard. They chanted 'He he, ho ho, Ted Cruz needs to go' and held banners decrying his actions after he jetted off to Cancun on Wednesday as Texans froze to death in their homes. In a reference to the family's pet dog, Snowflake, who was left behind when they flew to Mexico, one person held a sign (right) reading: 'Hey, Snowflake... We hate him too!' The senator returned to the storm-ravaged state less than 24 hours later and his wife flew back with his daughters Catherine, 12, and Caroline, 10, on Saturday evening (right inset). Ted Cruz is seen distributing water (inset) in photos shared Saturday.

69 Kerry is an idiot, but you knew that, and a measure of the society's collapse in some respects is that many people won't laugh or be outraged at such illiterate nonsense coming from someone with actual influence over anything.

And Khanna's an idiot and of course you might have known that already too. Last time I checked fewer than 5% of minimum wage earners were heads of household (in which case they'd be swimming in benefits from public assistance, BTW). Minimum wage is for part timers, and, essentially trainees or yutes, who are getting life training and experience - which are as valuable to them as the $, if not more so.

Would love to see where he gets the ridiculous productivity/minimum wage nonsense. If these workers were under-paid they'd have other employment - duh.

Unserious country, dumbed-down beyond recognition.

My recollection is that Khanna is a life-long political appointee, until getting elected to Congress in 2016. Somewhere, I still have the campaign flyers from Mike Honda illuminating Ro Khanna's work history.

He's never started/opened a small business, never worked at one, and had a bit of a problem with following-through on his responsibilities.

The example that comes to mind, from Honda's flyers, is Ro's position on a HOA Board of Directors; he managed to get elected, then, after the first meeting or two, stopped showing up, or at least rarely showed up.

Khanna ... seems to fit a profile. That profile involves Bernie Sanders. Yeah, my part of Silicon Valley is screwed.

166 I once noted here that, long ago, some time in the 90s, I happened upon a book by Gates, about .... well, stuff. Not about MSFT or software. Picked it up, turned to several random pages.

OMG, as the kids say. Just nonsense, from someone who clearly was not a renaissance man, to put it mildly. Silly garbage about things he knows nothing about - and not narrow or obscure technical things, common sense, real world things.

I remember putting it down and then laughing as I picked up the book next to it - by Joseph Nye, a foreign policy dimwit of note. I think it was his "soft power" book. Also absurd, of course. But in retrospect what a perfect pairing - ridiculous books by people who would go on to cause serious damage to the world (though at least Gates probably made great contributions in his own, narrow area - clearly he lacks the wisdom or instincts to stray outside that area, so why does he do it?).

With sound, though, you have to be actively listening to what you want to thrust, rudely, into your film. So you know it has been properly thrust. Rudely or not.

I encouraged her to go to the doc, but no, she stubbornly self treats it, making her own diagnosis. Talked to her today. She finally went to a walk-in clinic. Turns out she has face diaper related impetigo. She also had a bacterial infection in both eyes, also related to the face diaper. She rarely goes out, so maybe wears a diaper 1-2 times a week, for short periods, and she keeps hers clean. This is the tragedy of what this "pandemic" has created. A 91 year old gets a condition mostly seen in children. Eff Fauxchi and all who mandate the useless face diaper.

Bill Gates home is on Lake Washington, a deep 25 mile lake with Seattle on one side and Bellevue and Kirkland on the other.
If you are in a boat and get too close to his dock, armed guards will walk out and give you a very nasty stare. Some would call it brandishing a weapon. Only police can do that, in limited circumstances.
Not touching the dock, mind you, but just close. Which unless you are that close to a posted military or other government location, is completely legal in any navigable water in the USA.

Bill Gates was NEVER a little guy. Was going to Yale and dropped out when the mini computer craze hit and programs and operating systems were in demand so he and a pal formed a company.

And he only lucked out that the guy who actually invented C/PM was in or couldn't be bothered when IBM came looking for an operating system for the new product the IBM personal computer.

And thus the mini/micro computer industry was born. Also because IBM left the PC with open architecture which allowed a whole bunch of small companies to build devices that would work with it.

Apple in their arrogance kept their architecture closed and as a result didn't garner more than about 10% of the Personal Computer market.

Apple didn't get big till they stole the the stuff needed to make wireless phones. If forget who they stole this idea from.

They had a habit of stealing others ideas and then claiming them for their own, such as the Mouse.

It is possible to reload but even those components will probably become heavily regulated.

I saw this during Barky's term. They didn't pull it then as they were preparing for now and figured they could wait and not have the hassle.

Who is to say that the ammunition shortage is solely a function of new buyers. We know the gov't buys hugs amounts every fiscal year and those contracts carry penalty clauses for failure to meet the times stated.

Plus there are only a few actual people who run a lot of the companies that produce ammunition. There's one guy who is running 4 of the brand name ammunition manufacturers. And he has a very lackadaisical attitude about the shortage.

But you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming to go somewhere like the Louisiana bayou or the Florida Everglades. No way am I going to muck around near cottonmouths and Burmese pythons. We had cottonmouths where I grew up, and all it took was for someone to yell "snake!" when I was in a pond for me to do my best Jesus lizard impersonation.

We joke about Iran struggling with 1940s era technology with nukes, but clean tap water is technology from the early 1900s and stuff that there are a number of NGOs that will help you with.

For one thing fresh water is difficult to find in most places in the world. We here in the US are blessed with a large aquifer and a system of lakes and rivers that channels the run off from the mountains.

Secondly it takes technology and technology takes having a stable government. No one wants to invest in technology that may be stolen or destroyed on some rebels whim.

And lastly it takes a populace that sees the need. It may seem racist or bigoted buy many of the third world does not know the need for clean water. Thus they drill wells in areas of sewage runoff or use surface sources that are polluted. If the citizens don't care then why should the current junta?

I have to disagree. There are TWO ways we are programmed. One, through Genetics. Second, by being taught.

Genetic programing has no problem at ALL with killing other humans. If it did, there would have been a LOT less war throughout history.

Its the Cultural Programming that makes it difficult. Its what we are taught, and our Religious upbringing. Problem is that can switch very quickly.

I say this as someone who has been there, and done that. Someone who had to come to grips with his own programed respones.

He dived on a grenade and held it against his belly in action while giving medical aid to 5 other very wounded men, in a bomb crater.
Just trying to keep those other guys alive for another 5 minutes.
The grenade didn't go off, but all 5 other wounded guys saw him do it. Hence the MOH cert.
I asked him about it. He couldn't explain it. Said he was just out of his mind.

I once thought this, but Steve Bannon over at WarroomPandemic.com has changed my mind. It would cost billions and ultimately split the vote, Democrats/CCP win.
Instead, there are about 400,000 precinct committee positions nationally in the Republican party. Around 200,000 of those are EMPTY right now. If MAGA supporters would just show up at their county party meeting, be willing to go to ONE meeting a month at their local precinct, MAGA people would completely own the Repub party. These are the people who choose the state and national delegates.
And Repub politicians are expected at these meetings.
So, call your local party and simply ask when the next meeting is, and ask to meet your local precinct rep. There is a 50/50 chance that for the asking, it could be you.
If the seat is already filled, offer to assist or shadow the existing person.
And be nice! They may be RINOs, but they ain't Commies. Honey/vinegar.

422 Ro Khanna's statement is similar to certain Left attitudes towards energy production: it's lysenkoism - you will either adapt or perish. Khanna's position is that small businesses must find a way to pay $15/hour (or whatever) and if they can't, they should not be allowed to operate (to be replaced by government intervention, of course). It's like crazy energy regulations. They are attempting to create the conditions that force industry to actually develop unicorn power or, less snarkily, perfect these imperfect alternate energy sources. So retorting that the guy is dumb and doesn't understand economics is to have a really fine composite bow, a good arrow, great technique, and shoot at the wrong target. Or in baseball terms, schwing and a miss.

It pains me to say it but I do agree. Patriots shouldn't die for the sake of the Commander-in-Thief. No need to die for lost causes which won't be glorious, and won't be avenged. Let the armed forces atrophy, relying on drones and M-I complex toys instead of valor, hard training, and leaders who can inspire instead of ordering social justice "training".

477 When I started out as a signal platoon looey, I made it clear to my NCOs that it was my platoon and I expected them to run it properly. They always did and we all got along fine. The job of a platoon leader is to let the NCOs run it properly. The job of an NCO is to make sure that looey gets trained properly so that when the Peter principle comes in to play, it does so at echelons way above those NCOs.

The NCO class that make the services run HAVE to be supported or the whole thing WILL collapse, and any one who has been in knows what I'm saying.

There will be some career soldiers and stubborn old ones who stay and offer lip service while holding things together. But political indoctrination is no substitute for training, and officers picked for loyalty to the Regime instead of the Constitution won't make for many victories. The Leftards proudly refused to learn the lessons of 1938-42. Those lessons will have to be learned again, in blood and flaming wreckage.

sounds great CaliGirl! I spent a year messing with them to get it just right. I have always loved the Magarita. The drink is made in the details, no doubt there, it is an art. And the Grapefruit idea is not bad at all, particularly if that is the best fruit you have in season. Hell, the most popular cocktail in Mexico is the Paloma, not the Margarita. And the Paloma is a grapefruit based cocktail.

Well, the entire "3D-printed gun" scare is bullshit, aimed at scaring people who simply don't know that ordinary hobby crafters and backyard mechanics can produce functional firearms from common household junk. You can download blueprints for the Sten submachine gun off the Internet, and probably for many other models, too. But the Sten is easy to make, because it was designed to be cheap and easy to build.

Visited Las Vegas only a little over a year ago. If you had asked me then I would've said the city was fine, and despite a recent pitch on the tourist trade was doing nicely. Indeed, most of the locals seemed to be doing well enough. But then the Wuhan Flu hit, and the state got locked down, and I imagine things hit the skids hard. I have fond memories of the cocktail waitresses and bartenders, who did their best to make me feel cheerful, win or lose at the tables. I suppose in terms of Bartenders per capita, Las Vegas has few equals! But the city is so fixated on tourism, the preceding year must have been grim, even before the election. Not surprised you are pulling out now. The Harris administration will hit partying and casual travel rather hard, I'm afraid.

My Mossberg 500, purchased new and my first gun of my own, is 53 years in my possession this September. Earned every dollar for it picking strawberries, raspberries, cucumbers, and blackberries. I took it on the school bus to school one day so I could have it at gun safety hunting class after school. Bus driver said good things about it, and the 6th grade teacher yelled at me to keep it in my locker area in the back of the class, because everyone wanted to see it and play with it. Nobody was gonna touch my new gun. Nobody did.

It was more than just a different time, it seems now a different country.

It's like people forgot to drive in the last year. Just another tidbit how our society has been harmed by the continued over-response to the CCP flu.
Oh, you did see some group (CDC, AMA, ?) said last week that for the first time in generations, US life expectancy has dropped nearly a year?
People are social animals, and most Americans don't respond well to being abnormally controlled for no logical reason.

Seattle about 10 years ago built a small trolley around south Lake Union area, which is essentially near the Space Needle side of the city vs. where the stadiums are located. The bright city council folks there proudly called it the South Lake Union Trolley.
Immediately, within a couple of days, all the radio jocks called it "the S.L.U.T".
T-shirts popped up and sold out immediately. The city now calls it the Lake Union Trolley, or just "the Trolley", which is not as accurate, as it doesn't go anywhere near the east, west, or north Lake Union area.
Typical Leftists. Dumb it down.

575 i doubt Vegas will ever be the same unless they reinvent themselves. You see Atlantic City and what has become of the place. Sure, it was always a bit shady, anyone who has been there knows that. But the casinos were nice once you finally got to them.

The problem is the Dems have spread gambling wide and far. They control gambling, drugs, and they want to control prostitution. It is an old school Mafia movie but the guys in control are less interesting. There was a time in the 70s and 80s when if you wanted to gamble legally, you had to go to LV or AC. Now most states have casinos. The Dems are not going to give up that largesse. LV will have to do much more than it ever did because people are not going to spend an arm and a leg when they can simply go ten miles down the road.

most of the poeple I know who still care about LV are Brits. They go to LV and Orlando and then say how much they know America lol.

I thought he didn't want to be pirate? That reminds me of a comedian who did a riff on Cowboys. It was pretty damn funny but I can't recall who it was. The basic gist was he found it weird that in large parts of this country it is perfectly normal to dress like a cowboy. But if you dressed like a pirate, people would think you are weird.

646 The whole Big Mac cost thing is taken from an anecdotal cost of living comparator used mostly as a joke 10-15 years ago. While there is (some) causality related to cost of doing business in the comparison it is quickly dismissed by the rational as it doesn't fully define say, costs of employee versus supply, employee versus other business costs, etc. and market factors like scarcity and that thing called competition. People parroting this "statistic" end up like the idiot in California who says there should be no businesses that don't pay $15, as in shut the business down. Stupidity is almost always fatal at some point for humans.

656 The neat part is to track the minimum wage since inception with gold prices, then Milk and gas.

It turns out that the value of one unit of unskilled labor is always "worth" the same amount, and the market adjusts soon after.

You probably don't want to think too much about what happened when women were "liberated" and joined the workforce alongside their husbands who were previously supporting one household with one job.

661 Over the weekend, I was shopping for a particular item. A simple radio. We only lost power for a few hours around here, and it seems the only radio I have is a little earbud thing which doesn't have very good reception. All I want is your typical Panasonic or whatever, small speaker, amfm, battery or acdc. Couldn't find one without having to buy on line.

Yeah, those great little Sony units are impossible to find in stores now.

If you haven't bought one yet, look at the Retekess V115 Shortwave Radio, AM FM Radio on Amazon. We bought one for the camper and it is a fantastic device.

664 662 I imagine it is but Craigslist is off my list of places to visit. Actually, I'm pretty set in my ways. I like going into a store and seeing what's available, handing over money, and taking it home. I'll try Big Lots today, and the Atwoods store (farm and ranch store), and if nothing, order on line.

675 I'm guessing enabling the federal disaster declaration is required to trigger more than just FEMA camps or something, but Abbott should have told the Feds, "we'll manage". Federal money is like crack.

676 That will be blamed on snow in Texas. And Trumps refusal to fix global warming.

Most likely, but they will ignore Trump's Energy Reliability Act advanced by Rick Perry back in 2017 to establish a fund to build capacity in Texas for this very problem.

But FERC, an independent federal agency (which means no accountability) vetoed the act because, in FERC's and the EPA's response, there wasn't enough evidence that a polar vortex could reach and stay in Texas.

So the Climate Change people denied the possibility that the Texas Deep Freeze could happen. So when the liars say that this is a result of Climate Change, remind them that in 2017 they denied that it could happen.

Alas poor RadioShack...they always used to sell weather radios every spring. Walgreens or CVS still sell small cheap radios. Or your local camping store will oversell you something pricy.

That's exactly correct, Reuben. The measure was shot down, and it would have paid providers to hold reserves of feedstocks to ensure grid reliability. Wind and solar get direct subsidies; every watt they make gets a subsidy.

Schumer The Schmuck laffed at Texas and Climate Change, not realizing that TX leads the nation in wind generated 'renewable' energy. They should have relied on it more, I guess huh? That worked out sooooo well.
