Trump Acquitted in Impeachment Farce; Seven (Soon to be Ex-) Republicans Vote to Convict; Establishment Shill and Chinese Agent Mitch McConnell Votes to Acquit, But Then Openly Calls for Trump to be Prosecuted/Persecuted with Further Criminal Show-Trials

Here are the Handmaidens for the Leftist Totalitarian State that voted to convict:

-- Sens. Mitt Romney of Utah, Susan Collins of Maine, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Ben Sasse of Nebraska, Bill Cassidy of Louisiana, Richard Burr of North Carolina and Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania

Note the unremarkable presence of Deep State goon and Mark Warner's personal dick-warmer Richard Burr on that roll of shame.

@JackPosobiec

Mitch McConnell is now calling for Trump to be prosecuted as a private citizen "for everything he did while in office"

Here's China's Bitch Mitch calling for lifelong legal harassments for Trump, his family, and all of his staff.

The bright young things that are all out Marxist, loud and proud, are in everybody's face and causing the old guard on the left headaches. The Trump faction is causing headaches on the right. The old guard just wants to get back to uniparty gift, the Trump right wants to put America first and the Marxist tribe want to burn it down and replace it with communism. They did two impeachments trying to exorcise Trump and his influence from the right.

Posted by: Wyatt Earp at February 13, 2021 05:33 PM (VWp7G)

62 Problem McConnel has with his assertion as regards accusing Trump of "everything he did while in office", is that insofar as I know, and could've observed from afar, Trump did nothing wrong, illegal or unconstitutional.

In other words, Trump's term in office was just as free of crime and malfeasance, as was Trump's business dealings pre-politics. Had there been pre-political "dirt" on Trump, you KNOW they would've incessantly published and aired every spec of it on every channel and every publication.

The mad egos of the GOPe are such, (and Dems are worse, if possible), is that they conflate what they do not "like", with what was legal, permissible and within the bounds of law.

One of the greatest shames of our system of politics is that the politicians no longer fear the fists of an angered electorate. This, needs to change.

Those 7 traitors know their political career is over - retirements, etc. The ones who need to get the message good and hard are the Romneys, Collins, and Nikki Haley.

For it is not an enemy who taunts me--then I could bear it; it is not an adversary who deals insolently with me -- then I could hide from him. But it is you, a man, my equal, my companion, my familiar friend. We used to take sweet counsel together; within God's house we walked in the throng. Let death steal over them; let them go down to Sheol alive; for evil is in their dwelling place and in their heart.

But I call to God, and the Lord will save me. Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan, and he hears my voice. He redeems my soul in safety from the battle that I wage, for many are arrayed against me."

Relatively young politician Ben Sasse chose poorly. Very poorly. Somehow I was under the misnomer he was former military. Wrong. Just another Ivy League "superior". And McKinsey worker, like Pete Buttjudge.
From his website:
Like many Nebraskans, Ben learned about hard work in corn and bean fields at an early age. The son of a coach and a graduate of Fremont High, he was recruited to wrestle at Harvard and subsequently earned a PhD in American history at Yale. An occasional professor, Ben has spent most of his worklife helping companies and institutions through technological and leadership disruptions. He's worked with the Boston Consulting Group and McKinsey and Company, as well as private equity firms and not-for-profit organizations, to tackle failing strategies across dozens of sectors and nations.

Sasse is a young American traitor to the Constitution. What is his preferred Grift, I wonder? We'll find out soon.

There is a reckoning coming.

Trump was impeached while President. The trial was just a continuation of the impeachment which the constitution gives the Senate jurisdiction. They could have chosen not to go forward as unfortunately there is nothing in the constitution that addresses the timing of the impeachment. It leaves that up to the Senate.

300 I also think the defense was poorly framed. In a show trial The Narratives are all.

The constitutional arguments are what they are, though I think the Bill of Attainder (legislating punishment) should have been more emphasized. But the freaking elephant in the room is that if we are a Republic in which people, and elected officials can FREELY SPEAK on the issues of the day, you can't call even vehement disagreement "incitement."

If a President believes he was wrongly ousted by a fraudulent election then by God it's his right to say so in the strongest terms and ask his supporters to do all they can to right that wrong.

Basically the Fuck You defense. Might have cost a couple more cuck votes but the point needed by made.

350 295 C 137,
No, that is not true. The two previous post hoc impeachments, one dealt with an expelled Senator Blount, it was rejected by the Senate as superfluous and contrary to Article I removal of senators. The Second was Sec. of War Belknap who resigned minutes before being impeached by the House. The Senate took up the trial and acquitted, in part because of the mootness of the nature.

In addition, read Tillman and Blackman dealing with just exactly who are officers of the United States (Tillman did a lot of research on emoluments clause using the same language). In effect, officers are appointed, not elected and thus the H&S lack the power to bar the electorate from choosing who they damn well please for office. In addition, you cannot start a moot proceeding in order to punish someone. The power of the Senate to remove Trump was moot and thus the Senate has no power to try a moot case in order to issue post hoc punishment.

We will remember and it's only less than 2 years and we'll have a chance to demonstrate the price we will demand and that they will pay.

Sadly some of them (probably why they voted the way they did) are not running in 2022 or 2024.

No matter we will take out our ire on those that do run and deny the others the benefit of our scarce dollars.

They've shown that they couldn't care less about how the covid has been used to bring us to financial ruin all to get rid of Trump.

And there will be more evidence for those that can now see that will convict them of their treason.

Since the Dems have established the impeachment process to be a political ploy, when (if) we are in control, we should run an impeachment train on the dems - if for no other reason than F*** YOU.

HOW IS IT that a NEW Congress "forwarded" an Article of Impeachment from an Adjourned House of Representatives, to a Newly Seated Senate?

Shouldn't that whole mess ought have re-started from "zero" with the Newly Seated Representatives?

The whole fucking thing is the fetid, rotting corpse of the body politic, twitching long after death as it's eaten away by rats, roaches, pestilence and decay. And that's just the Republicans. The Democrats are even worse.

I think Trump needs to take a hand in this now...in general, 74M people are trying to find a banner to rally under - and leadership in the Republican party would rather suck up to the voters that already have a party they like - you can't have leadership that demented and expect to lead it for long.

Burr, I think, is too intensely stupid to even know what a RINO is; he has simply taken the path of least resistance, allowing himself to be cajoled, bullied, intimidated and wheedled into doing the bidding of stronger-willed Democrats, rather in the manner of a slow child being tricked by the mean neighborhood kids into eating worms. He is NOT, I repeat NOT Josh Barro, Andy Levy, any of the chicks people have imagined him to be over the years, etc. He's just an average Italian guy who likes cats that got red-pilled with regard to Islam on 9/11. His writing and analytical skills are due to his law background. That's as exciting as the story gets, folks. So, basically, if you out him, you're just outing an average NeverTrump dick and accomplishing nothing. There is no point to that. Take care.

The only rationale I could think that Willard the Rat could be a positive was his performance taking over the Olympics and making it something other than a financial Hiroshima. Ironically I think, for better or worse, he's a natural executive which is a major reason why he's been a miserable failure as a senator.

"Allahpundit" rose to fame in the immediate Post 9/11 world, by making great mock of all things Islam, in a very Jewish way of "voicing" (well, typing) things said and done by Muslims, but in an Over the Top, exaggerated "Muslimish" and quite frankly, very funny manner. T'wasn't his intellect, analysis nor polling that put him in the spotlight. It was his Catskills worthy schtick, and if he'd schtuck to that, he'd have actually been worth a damn. The major problem is that the left has a lot of deranged broken lunatics like the guy that shot up the Republicans at practice that have nothing better to do than wait it out. In compromised jurisdictions, the politicos often want someone taught a lesson and order the police to slow walk any response so they permit all kinds of online, phone, and acts of vandalism like keying cars, etc. The action left are broken people and that is why they are effective tools--they have nothing much to lose in many cases. The problem with that is that the Dems can turn a city into an unsafe deathtrap with high taxes a lot faster than it can be turned around. Took Rudy one term to turn it around, and a second for the city to begin to thrive. Bloomberg, to his credit, did not mess with success much during his twelve years. DeBlasio ruined all the hard work in a mere 5 years in office.

Fleeing to red states is no longer a long term strategy either with refugee resettlement, illegals, and blue locusts.

Blog hosts like Ace are already having problems keeping from being deplatformed including the milk toast versions like Conservative Treehouse. There are law enforcement agents and probably informants that post or lurk here so advocating kinetic action only brings heat to people that do not deserve it.

So, what to be done, to persuade Americans that a change must come generally requires a severe crisis, to persuade Americans by and large that enormous changes need to be made, requires a massive crisis. We have one with the clock ticking now--the federal deficit and debt bomb.

So, preparing for that outcome for family and friends is the most critical mission right now. When a currency collapse and hyperinflation will occur is uncertain but probably within the next 5 years. At that point, people will be ready for a change from the current regime to almost anything.
Remember, this is more a coup than a revolution--they have nothing like a majority of popular support behind them and the regime legitimacy is fading by the day due to overreach and arrogance.

Its his pimp___ of Treacher that causes the most objections. I believe PJ Media owns a slice of Insty now and are pulling the Goodfellas schtick on Reynolds before they torch the place.

The most generous explanation I can come up with is that Reynolds has a contract with PJ media allowing them to promote their writers on his site.

As for the lack of response, that's what concerns me the most. I've been asking as politely as I know how for the last year and can't get even the courtesy of a response. Which I think is because the entire side has been turned into a grift to get advert clicks from outrage porn. Because there appears to be very little respect for the audience. I know Reynolds has seen the complaints because he posted around them. I don't have any explanation for why he is ignoring the ones that are asked in good faith. But I don't think it bodes well do people like us.

Yah i'm not going to advocate anything like that. I get that now. I ran afoul of it only because for so many years I had heard people talk about how violence was still on the table, if only as a last resort, and I wanted some examples of what that would actually be.

By the reactions to such a innocent question I've been way out of proportion, which makes me think something else is in play. All I was looking for answers like " if they suspend elections that's the last straw for me" or " yes there's a line that once crossed would cause me to abandon the rule of law but I'm not going to be so stupid as to discuss it on open comms". I think the question bothers people because they don't want to commit something you'll be ashamed of ignoring later on.

On the other hand, I went over this with Professor Jacobson at LI for about a year and got no response. So the most generous conclusion I can reach is that he believes if violence is needed to defend the Republic then it is no longer worth defending. I don't agree with that but I can understand i

585 582 buddhaha,
You need to preach to the officeholders in Washington, not the voters. The voters now are abused and despised publicly by their own officeholders. Why stay in an abusive relationship because the other side is worse? 'Conservatives' in office have not conserved a damn thing other than corporate graft and payoffs to the wealthy.

If the GOP wants to stay a party with voters at this point, most of the existing leaders and officeholders need to go. An alcoholic bum picked up off the street could do better than McConnell and McCarthy as a leader. At least the alcoholic bum would be glad for three squares and a warm roof, McConnell is ungrateful that his constituents just reelected him a multimillionaire influence peddler to office and thinks he has the right to scold their champion.

586 Impossible for me to see how this doesn't end in violence.

Posted by: Sam Adams at February 13, 2021 08:11 PM (VDbGO)

This comment is not aimed directly or only at you.

We've already had the violence. Baseball field and all across American cities.

I think it's a coping mechanism. I keep reading things like "soon they will be coming for us" and "it can't be long until the violence starts".

Except both of these have been happening for at least the last year and are only being ramped up now. But like I said - coping mechanism. With a hint of denial.

590 Once upon a time, in the days before the internet (1990 to be exact), I wrote several contribution checks to GOP senate candidates and sent them to the NRSC, since it was too time-consuming to look up the addresses individually.

Not one of those checks made it to their designated campaigns, but at least the NRSC didn't cash them either. Looks like things haven't changed much in the last 30 years.

592 583, Read Martin van Creevald's particularly his books on insurgencies and terrorism although he is fully cognizant of other military history. Sci-Fi authors, Jerry Pournelle and Michael Williamson's Freehold and other writings along with other military sci fi writers also describe various scenarios backed by actual knowledge of sociology, science, military history, and other pertinent experience. RAH in the Moon is a Harsh Mistress, 6th Column, some of the books and short stories in his Future History, and some of his YA books also discuss pertinent problems.

594 Question of the Day: Have they labeled the Right "insurrectionists" so they can someday use the "Insurrection Act"?

Posted by: ... at February 13, 2021 09:53 PM (jBRLB)

595 #586,

I think we've all been waiting for our government to react in our defense.

Whether it's shooting Republicans for shits and giggles, or burning our businesses and our cities down, our government, both R and D, have shown that they really don't care.

They have also shown that they have no intention of ceasing their War against us.

If we are going to lose all that we have, including our freedom, and have absolutely no representation at all, then we are a people with nothing to lose. That will change the dynamic, permanently.

606 It's all irrelevant unless Trump can reverse the election, which it unlikely at this point. They are poised to legalize 30 million illegals by 2022, ensuring that the GOP never wins at the federal level again, at least in most of the swing states and Texas/Florida. It's over. We are doomed.
