Re-Education Camp Cafe: Musical Pets Edition

Old vid, but new to me: Kitty-cat sings (parts of) "Old McDonald Had a Farm."

Misanthropic Human posted this on Saturday: Doggie plays the kick-drum on Back in Black.

More of Maple playing percussion on various songs. And more.

This dog has perfect time.

The best musical pet: Buddy Mercury.

Talkative cat.

Chihuahua puppy versus bulldog.

Raccoon eats grapes from a plastic container, then, when they're gone, hands the container back to its owner, probably hoping for seconds.

I remain of the opinion that when there are human/animal clashes, at LEAST 50% of the time the problem is the human, and they're the ones who need to go away.

To ask the question, is to know the answer.
But the rain has been back now and the main roads are bare and wet again.
Unlike the eastern seaboard or the midwest, snow is so uncommon, there are no guys with plows on their 4x4 trucks to clear roads. Makes a big difference. Plus, way too many stupid, arrogant, untrained to drive in bad weather drivers.

Of course all that will be moot, with 22M new "citizens" who will be a robot voting bloc like black Americans have been for decades.

I finished writing a few things that I've been kicking around, mostly having to do with philosophy and various schools of thought that I think have been lost to us generally, but mostly among the "Elite."

I was very happy with it. Kind of a shame to shred the printout but WGAF about any of that shit.

Ma'am, I know you do not mean it this way, but I think millions who died at the hands of totalitarian evil in the 20th century would disagree with you. 20 million for Stalin. 60 Million for Mao's Cultural Revolution. The fairly small 1.5 to 2 million in Cambodia.

When you refuse to even talk about something or use it as a warning or even see the similarities to something you see going on in the present day, all you do is make it a bit more likely that it will happen again. Because this was not a singular event where the Jews were the ultimate good and the Germans were the ultimate evil: this was ONE GROUP of people who had so otherized another, different GROUP of people, that they no longer saw the value to their lives.

You can prep and plan, but, until you live it for a week or two you don't know how difficult no water, no electricity, no heat, no vehicle, no government help, etc really is.

267 Part of the problem, maybe most of the problem, is the unusually high power demand for mid-February - most apartments and a lot of homes have electric "furnaces."

---
A couple of weeks ago, the Seattle city council voted to ban natural gas or oil heating systems from all new construction, joining Berkeley, California in stopping the most efficient, cost effective way to heat homes and apartments known to be available.
Only electric heat and hot water will be allowed.
In the early 60's in WA state electricity was pushed hard, because of massively cheap hydropower mostly from the Columbia River dams.
But builders knew how inefficient it was compared to the fossil fuel of the time, heating oil. Then in the '70's, natural gas lines started to be built in new home areas, and it took off as the primary source of heat in homes.

Today's left chooses inferior solutions, and forces them on everyone. Because they can. Their false political/scientific views are their religion.

I think the Holocaust is a unique event by the gradual, systematic, organized progression of dehumanization, started by the Nazis and taken up by almost every institution, spoken by almost every voice at every level and encouraged, and the systematic ratcheting up of brutality and ruthlessness at every step.

I think that is what makes it uniquely horrible...and that's why refusing to consider that same dynamic could be at work again is so very shortsighted and dangerous. Equally dangerous is refusing to entertain the idea that such an evil dynamic could be restricted only to Germans against Jews (although Jews have certainly suffered in the past and are suffering now).

They put out a lot of heat and you can use those in a suburban house. There's a fireplace here and I have a small amount of firewood. I've never been impressed on heating with a fireplace.

I was watching Portland news this morning. They showed a guy from an apartment complex, where the car port had come down on the cars due to snow plus ice. The guy was unhappy that no one had done anything about it. he was a fairly young guy and didn't look like there was anything physically wrong with him. Couldn't figure out why he didn't clear the snow off the carport or at least move his car out from under it.

I have always considered an electric blanket to be a fou fou kind of thing. But you can power an electric blanket with one, which would be handy with the power down. And LED lights don't draw much power. It will charge your phone and laptop too.

361 Propane puts out moisture in the air. I've always had trailers with metal walls and it's terrible when using propane. I do like it for cooking. If you happen to have a gas stove, look for one of those old cast iron lids that they used on wood cook stoves. Put it over your gas burner and heat it up. It stores the heat and makes the burner a decent heater.

I have been watching a "solo traveler" that goes by Slim Potatohead, on You Tube. He's from Alberta and does a lot of winter camping in a small trailer. He has some good tips for setting one up.

Have you ever tried to start a small gas engine after stowing it away for the winter? Engine runs like crap with the old fuel.

And remember, you can usually buy 100% gasoline, without ethanol, in most areas. Marine fuel on Puget Sound is all ethanol-free, which is one reason why it costs more.

Only run cars or trucks that are made for it.

410 Maple syrup... you know the longer it's boiled, the thicker it gets, right?
So, cheap syrup is thin and not very flavorful. You can take silver maple trees sap, boil it down heavy, and it will be sweeter and better than sugar maple tree sap boiled lightly.
Heck, you can tap walnut trees.

Alright, dammit. Delivery has become completely insane. Virtually anyone you call these days has "delivery" listed on their Google business. But they don't really mean it. Most places have shifted over to the "UberEats/GrubHub/Postmates" model. That is far from the "delivery" I consider to be actual delivery.

For one thing, cash is not an option, and I like cash. For another, these services, knowing they have America over a barrel in this Great Enstupiding caused by the Big Bad Sniffles, have jacked up their rates to a truly ludicrous degree. I can count on a delivery from one of these companies costing nearly as much, if not more, than the meal itself.

Gone are the times, not so long ago, when even in my bumpkin town, I could just *call* a guy at some building where they cook food, and he'd put the food another guy's car, and that guy would drive it to myself in exchange for a nice tip. That's gone.

It's just "fill down a g-ddamn credit application and pay us $25, and maybe, just maybe, we'll bring you a box of lo mein, you fucking peasant. If you're lucky."

I see by the pie chart at the top of the page that your wind "generation capacity" is 10%!

And the chart that shows what wind has actually generated sits around zero for most of the past week, with a half-day spike up to a few percent... wind is actually above the "nuclear" line (4.3%) for a solid 3 or 4 hours... that's... really something. But not something that heats houses.

Remember - the hydroelectric power generated by the massive dam system on the Columbia River is NOT counted as "renewable". Only the bird chopper windmills do.
Leftist insanity.

416 I admit having to fill out a credit application for food delivery is frustrating though.

417 so my 4-day weekend consisted of hiding inside from the cold, only going outside once a day to make sure the truck would start (it did).

and I went to the UPS store and got a mailbox, so I can get ammo in the mail and packages securely. No more hoping someone doesn't steal my stuff off the front porch before I get home.

418 Quint,
You asked for reasons, I give you Mitch McConnell. Basically the Chamber of Commerce cash and a few wealthy donors are propping up the gas bags and they sell out for future prizes.

Mitch has been controlling the Senate candidates with cash and outside pacs since he became minority leader.

He though has basically neutered himself by essentially killing small contributors to the party and the corporate types are just dying to pay sweet contributions to the Dems only and his buddy Donahue is out at Chamber of Commerce.

If Trump starts his own small donor superpac and doesn't share the lists with others, he can shove it right up Mitch's butt and get candidates that Mitch has no say so or hold over. Same as in House and McCarthy is in a much weaker position as minority leader in House doesn't raise much money.

The best thing that conservatives can do is go outside the party organizations to create new funding for good candidates but avoiding the hucksters and grifters that took over the Tea Party is imperative so a strong legal team needs to file complaints, criminal referrals, and other such to get rid of these.
