The Morning Report - 2/5/21 [J.J. Sefton]

gorgogoogle.jpg

Good morning, kids. Friday and the weekend is here. Near the top is the House voting to strip Marjorie Taylor Greene of her committee assignments, with 11 useless sods from the GOP wing of the Democrats crossing the aisle to stab one of the few honest, open voices of dissent remaining in Congress in the heart, or in her case, the throat. I'll say this up front - I could care less about what Greene allegedly said regarding so-called "conspiracy theories" and whatnot. The fact is she is a staunch supporter of our deposed President-in-Exile Trump and by extension the American people. Given the fact that the Democrats continue to smear her and all of us as "insurrectionist" for daring to even question the legitimacy of what was clearly a hijacked election makes me stand by Rep. Greene that much more staunchly. Beyond that, as has been pointed out here and elsewhere, the fact that the entirety of the Democrat congressional contingent and the majority of its GOP wing include vermin such as Eric Swalwell are praised and elevated as great Americans despite knowingly or otherwise cavorting and consorting with Red Chinese agents, among other things, makes the persecution of Greene that much more loathsome and detestable. Then again, the fact that the government as a whole is indeed an illegitimate junta that has about as much regard for the Constitution as I do for dog turd on the bottom of my shoe, Greene's removal from committees are a meaningless gesture from a practical legislative standpoint. Indeed, if she plays her cards and the media right (and there's no guarantee she can), the Dems would have made a blunder in not following Vito Corleone's advice of "keep your friends close but your enemies closer."

All that brings me to the related and more important story of Bank of America now actively and eagerly working with the FBI to hunt down and persecute anyone who was in or even near the Capitol on Black Wednesday. This development is absolutely bone-chilling in its implications.

What we've witnessed in the last twenty or so years is a fusion between big corporations, from big tech on down, and the federal government. Both institutions have complete fealty to a Democrat-run state and will do all in their power to preserve it.

The Constitution? Feh! Just a ragged old piece of paper that -- as they correctly understand -- has meaning only if people believe it has meaning. Silly little things like the Fourth Amendment don't matter if the Democrat party is threatened...

...Once upon a time, only the government was powerful enough to censor people and it was only the state that had the criminal laws and police power that made illegal searches an issue. Now, though, corporations have taken over the public squares in which speech once took place and they possess every bit of private information we own.

Because the corporations and the federal government share common values (after all, they all went to the same colleges and were taught the same way of thinking), they are tag-teaming: The Democrat-run bureaucracy, White House and Congress, express an unconstitutional desire and the corporations fill it without implicating that hoary old document.

Letter of the law? Feh!

Spirit of the law? Feh!

And that gets me to Tucker Carlson's report on Thursday night. It turns out that Bank of America voluntarily got on the computer and searched its databases -- that means, it searched your private financial records -- to learn whether you traveled to D.C., stayed anywhere within a vast radius of D.C., bought anything at a weapons store in D.C. (whether ammo or a can opener), and bought airline tickets to anywhere.

Stalin's head of the secret police, Lavrentiy Beria, once said, "Show you the man and I'll show you the crime." Biden's new government/bank fusion says, "Show me the bank records of a visit to D.C. and I'll show you a radical white supremacist insurrectionist who needs to be dragged in for questioning." After all, that's what happened to this man.

If you're not terrified right now -- whether or not you were anywhere near D.C. -- you're not reading the situation right. What we're witnessing the federal government's police power and the corporate world's information power coming together to perform a complete end-run around the United States Constitution.

As preternaturally invasive and freedom-killing as our current "progressive" government and its bureaucracies have grown to become since the New Deal, what our friend Andrea Widburg stated, emphasis mine, is the birth of a tyranny that is orders of magnitude more thoroughly all-encompassing, powerful and malignant as to make even the most repressive regimes on earth seem like comparative pushovers. Certainly, corrupted law enforcement agencies will be a part of the apparatus of coercion, but as you can deduce, will play only a supporting role, the populace getting "sporty" at some time notwithstanding. Forget the phony Reichstag Fire of January 6th. The information that millions of us blindly coughed up not just on social(ist) media but everywhere over the past 25-30 years since the burgeoning of the digital age has not only been monetized by the neo-maxi-zoom-dweebies of the Billionaire Soys Club (imagine if they had to pay royalites), but is to be used as the ultimate tool of coercion and submission. If, or perhaps when we abolish cash and institute digital currency, anything and everything you purchase will be compiled, indexed, filed, numbered, referenced and cross-referenced for anything "troubling." Not just cigarettes, booze or even porn. But firearms, ammo, an American flag, a contribution to B'nai Brith, a subscription to the Limbaugh Letter, hitting the AOS or CJN tip jar etc. etc. And when you want to buy a house, a car or health insurance (assuming it's still allowed) you might get a little note from some apparatchik stating you have to turn over all your weapons since "owning firearms is dangerous to your health."

This is what happens when two to three generations of our children are brainwashed all day and every day from kindergarten through post-graduate. You don't need a Secret Police when potentially anyone including your own family members will do that job for free in order to "stop white supremacy" or "save the planet."

C.S. Lewis nailed it:

"Of all the tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under the omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber barons cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

Have a good weekend.

Read this on Cernovich's Twitter feed:

Democrats banned MTG from assignments based on comments she made before elective office.

Republicans had a majority out and they did nothing.

This is why the 2016 era voters won't be coming back for the GOP in mid-terms.

And make no mistake, this isn't a fictionalized novel, with added bits such as this for added drama. It is real and it's happening in America now. Our complete dissolution of constitutional rights is crumbling faster than even I ever anticipated, and an incredibly rapid rate.

Based on the GOPs actions over the course of the last 5 years, the last 6 months especially....
I don't think they care if voters vote for them.
It's not like they are trying to advance an agenda that's broadly supported by flesh and blood voters.

And even if some get voted out, there are enough "Think Tanks" and K-Street sinecures to insert establishment made men and women into make work jobs.

Pence got his slot at The Heritage Foundation, I'm sure Liz Cheney will never be lacking for a landing spot somewhere.

35 I had just commented on the ONT about going to Castrol Oil's web page to use their 'oil finder ' page to look up what oil to use for one of the cars.

And damn if it only asks for two pieces of info, in order to find the correct oil.

Your vehicles State of registration

And the license plate number.

What does an international oil company do to gain access to the vehicle registration data base of all 50 states?

Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice, Bubonic Plague Survivor at February 05, 2021 07:40 AM (3D/fK)

36 Quote from the Time article:

Their work touched every aspect of the election. They got states to change voting systems and laws and helped secure hundreds of millions in public and private funding. They fended off voter-suppression lawsuits, recruited armies of poll workers and got millions of people to vote by mail for the first time. They successfully pressured social media companies to take a harder line against disinformation and used data-driven strategies to fight viral smears.

BOA is not the problem, it's a symptom.

So I'm asking myself, what does it take for an oil company to have access to a nationwide state government data base of vehicle registrations?

Money. Give me money.. A whole lotta spendin' money .. This has been going on a while. Gubbmint records - your personal info - are a commodity. You can't access any of it. But everybody else can.

Basically government at every level uploaded every scrap and stitch of info, from the benign to above top secret to their America Online account since about 1992, and then every hacker stole it, the government sold it, every hacker sold it back to the government, which then sold it to Castrol, or something.

There isn't anything left to steal, I expect. "Privacy Act" applies. It means your personal information is private. You can't access it.

And the cell networks providing mass tracking of cell phone pings. Their technology to do this is pretty impressive. They can draw a circle on a map at a given time and tell the system "show me where all devices in this radius go over the next week." I don't know how far back in time that system goes, but it does exist. I saw an anonymized version of it in the initial 'Rona panic when they showed how those oh so irresponsible Spring Breakers down in Florida dispersed all over the country when they left.

I am sure the LE outfits don't get just the anonymized version.

The concerted efforts to shove mail-in voting down everybody's throats, the repeated efforts to thwart every attempt to strengthen voter ID requirements, the outraged cries of "voter suppression!!!" and "white supremacy!!!" any time anybody suggested any type of election security measures, etc. -- that stuff was obviously being coordinated, and the end goal was also obvious: to make Democrat voter fraud as easy and widespread as possible.

And supermarket discount clubs. And various other similar programs. This is how a "social credit" scheme will be implemented in this country. It won't be so heavy handed like it is in China. That would be a hard sell here. Instead, if you misbehave then you'll be kicked out of those programs for various reasons. If you're a regressive, you won't restricted from transacting - that's bad for business and makes people restless. No, your life will just cost 5%-10% more than it does now. That's a lot. Essentially, the deplorables will be forced to live with an inflation rate that is 2-4x higher than the non-deplorable population's. And as HR departments continue pushing boundaries on hiring discrimination, the deplorables also won't be able to earn all that much.

The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election

This is the inside story of the conspiracy to save the 2020 election, based on access to the group's inner workings, never-before-seen documents and interviews with dozens of those involved from across the political spectrum. It is the story of an unprecedented, creative and determined campaign whose success also reveals how close the nation came to disaster. "Every attempt to interfere with the proper outcome of the election was defeated," says Ian Bassin, co-founder of Protect Democracy, a nonpartisan rule-of-law advocacy group. "But it's massively important for the country to understand that it didn't happen accidentally. The system didn't work magically. Democracy is not self-executing."

Actually other than being a drama queen, which the old goat lived for, that's pretty low on my most hated acts by 894. Paul Ryan could have resubmitted the bill that Gaylord vetoed multiple times on the first day but instead he dragged his monkey ass and put together a terrible replacement bill until it was too late to craft another. What McPlanecrash turned thumbs down to wasn't a good piece of legislation but instead the last sellout by Eddie Munster.

Credit Unions are a better choice for most ordinary consumers and most of them cooperate with each other regarding use of ATM cards, accepting payments on loans, etc.

In most cases, people can join one pretty easily through work, club memberships, military service (or even parent's military service), or even your utilities. Check your websites for HR, utilities, club memberships, etc. for additional benefits listing and that is where you can find what credit unions you can join.

If the Supreme Court doesn't make the point that federal elections are now much more suspect than Olympic level sprinting, the fix is in. Of course, even if they did concede that the unprecedented Dem cheating should result in the Biden-Harris ticket being about as legitimate as Ben Johnson, how on Earth could they enforce it? At that point you'd be starting a civil war, only you gave Biden "control" of the military first.

Not that it matters. I am a CU member, and I will continue to be after I move (albeit a different CU). If you're looking for one, let your feelings guide you in part. If you walk in and it feels like a big bank, walk right back out. Some CUs are trying to play that game and they have all the same problems. If it feels like a normal, old-fashioned bank, then consider it more seriously. As for membership, most are regional (there are organizational ones, too, of course). If you live, work or worship in the service area, you can join.

As to networks, there are two: ATM networks and "shared branching" networks. The big ATM network is "Co-Op Network" and virtually all CUs participate. It is the largest network in the country. Co-Op also has a "shared branching" network where you can use a different credit union to do cash transactions, cashier's checks, etc. It is also big, but less complete than the ATM network.

Who cares? Walk in and talk to them. See how it feels. If it feels okay and not like a big national bank, then go to their website and look at things like asset allocation, risk grading, financial health scores, etc. This is all public and if they're helpful when you're talking to them about opening an account, they will even help you find it (many CU websites aren't great).

If the institution looks healthy and like it's being managed well and it feels right and friendly and the staff is helpful, open an account.

There are a few different issues in play here:

1 - The national elections were absolutely rigged before the fact and stolen after the fact when the rigging came up short.

353 I'm not entirely sure the C.S. Lewis quote entirely captures the environment or mental state of the American left.

As a smoker, I'm used to moral preening. Any smoker can tell you that they've been advised by nearly everyone they've met, by every medical professional, by advertisement, by celebrity that they should quit because it's bad for them. This is fine, as it's often with good intention. You learn to tune it out.

But after some time, the narrative changed. It became popularized to say smokers are killing other people. And if I'm killing other people then it becomes justifiable to treat me as a murderer. Morally repugnant and deserving of death myself as an act of self defense.

When you begin to frame all arguments with "my opponent is a killer" and the government codifies it, the oppression and tyranny is not "for your own good", but rather because you are a threat. No one would argue that they should kill you for your own good if asked point blank. But they would tell you that they would be justified in killing you if you were a threat to them.

We all know the answer. Those GOP Senate clowns would rather lose than help Trump win. Well, now they lost too. Having GOPe members lose, and fundraising dry up, are pretty much the only way to get any substantive message to McConnell.

362 Ziba,
Joe Mannix is giving you good info. If you are comfortable with it and eligible for it, USAA is another option for banking but it would be primarily online and phone to access.

The bigger national type credit unions also have online banking but in most cases, you can still do things like make payments or use the atm in network at that local credit union and that credit union passes on the payments or atm transactions to your home credit union.

I'd add that at some point reality ceases to matter. One time as an experiment I stood outside a Metro station with an unlit cigar in my mouth. Honestly, there were some people who walked past me doing that passive-aggressive fake cough thing.

I think the same thing is happening - the fiction has become the fact in the minds of the oppressor's lackeys, and they are only too willing to abandon critical thought since to do otherwise would mean taking a hard long look at what they are doing.

I am not so sure it did. While I don't necessarily believe that it started out as an op, it certainly became one and I think that the transition point if it occurred was Easter 2020. That said, I am not certain it worked the way they wanted it to. Sure, it has had its successes and on balance it probably worked out, but I don't think they expected it to be the fault line that would fracture the West into to pieces. It isn't just here that it is *the* point of division, it is also true throughout at least Western Europe. I doubt they wanted that outcome. They wanted near-universal acquiescence. Having a significant plurality or possibly even half of people split over it could not have been a goal.
