Be sure to write to Mitch McConnel and Liz Cheney and demand that they do further favors for these wonderful pillars of the Surveillance Society. The only purpose of the Republican Party is to deliver favors to corrupt oligarchs.

We've moved American industry to China, and now we're moving the Chinese government to America.

Can't wait to see all the defenses of BoA posted by our paid-for Paycheck "Conservative" Media, nearly all of whom are on the corporate payroll.

3 Why/how would BoA records give any idea about participation in the "riot"?

Except as a confirming bit of evidence of presence in DC (use of an ATM), for someone you already want for a specific reason - that I can see. Though I have no idea about the propriety/legality of what BoA did.

9 Bank of America has been a bad actor a long time. Don't banks have to be chartered in individual states? I think that's the case and, if so, individual bank commissioners need to yank this bad actor's charter.

There seems to be some weird absolute need for there to be hidden evil mysterious forces "behind" the people who are doing exactly what they/their party/their organizations have been doing/trying to do my almost my entire life. So which one did the mugging? In the end, does it matter?

But if you withdrawal $9000 too many times, you get charged with a conspiracy to avoid having your withdrawals reported.

This is a good idea.

It's also a good idea to have at least one other email address and associated digital artifacts (ecommerce accounts, etc.) for things you don't want easily traced back. Obviously this is tricky for physical goods shipments, so usually the thing to do is have one (or more) pseudonymous personas for spouting off on the interent and another, clean one for things going to your home address. I think that the Citizen's United decision opened the floodgates to unimaginable spending levels by these quasi political organizations that have by and large bypassed the old PACs and party organizations with iterative shell political organizations almost all on the left. BLM finances are a perfect example.

The old saying is politics is downstream of culture and the radicalization of America started with culture after the Cold War ended and that culture was created by and large outside of government officials.

Michael Malice uses anecdotes from time to time, of how the Norks are required to believe certain things about Dear Leader that are of course absurd on their face. But if it gets said, no one is allowed to dispute it, which is how you get examples such as his ability to operate complicated machinery, getting holes in one on golf courses, and of course, his ability to stop time.

It's a sinister, less cute way of illustrating the "Emporer's New Clothes" type scenario, and I have the feeling the next few months/years, however long they keep that clown in office, we're going to see things like that here, in this country.

OTOH, Wells Fargo got rung up for generating bogus accounts for its customers. So they're no day at the beach, either.

Not in the BoA class, but not that far off it, either. BoA made me spend a whole fucking day to transfer my mother's accounts to another bank. I had to 1) produce the most recent statement, 2) write and hand-deliver a letter to them, 3) leave and get the letter notarized, etc., each requirement being associated with going home or somewhere else.

I used to bank at Chase, but they pissed me off by sneaking in fees surreptitiously from time to time. I had to scour their statements every month to make sure they weren't doing the cable company trick on me.

We now bank through Fidelity, and are happy with them. So far.

Maybe that is an attack avenue on those outfits? Does Section 230 permit them to screen for and suppress only certain types of misinformation? I doubt it, but could be wrong.

After my Step Dad died I inherited a bank account from some bank in PA. It had a balance of zero. I received monthly statements and tried several time to close it, with no luck. He died in 2008. I just got a notice closing the account couple of months ago. Evidently people are actually out of the loop in mayor banks.

This year I'm short by $1.34. I shit you not. If I choose to ignore it my payments got up by about a buck.... for the next 20 years. Amortize that shit.

So... I will write a check, mail it in their envelope and enjoy watching Wells Fargo take my $1.34 and spend several thousand dollars processing it.

227 Wells is no saint--I remember the fake account thing--but at least when they're screwing around with customers it's been local yokels doing dumb shit that (theoretically) doesn't directly impact the customers. Not organized, centrally planned ops for the oligarchy.

Something I forgot to mention in my how2privacy post, remember that IP addresses can and often are recorded by websites you visit so throw in Tor or a VPN for the really sensitive stuff. And run the browser in privacy mode so Google's all seeing tracking cookies have a harder time. Tracing IPs across multiple sites through system logs is more of a DOJ thing than something an SJW brigade or corporate slut would do when doxing the proles, but something to keep in mind if they start explicitly outlawing wrongthink and blacklisting non-compliant vendors like the pillow guy.

228 I once got a letter from a collection agency asking for a different amount than the payment I was defaulting on. Heh, I hate collections agencies with a passion.

One got a hold of me a while ago, past tax bill, I'd moved out of state and forgot I needed to file in the state I left, so, I contacted the State IRS, asked how much I owed, paid it, then, when the collection agency called, I told them to check with the state IRS.

246 From Lee Smith's The Thirty Tyrants in Tablet Magazine:

"Biden's inauguration marks the hegemony of an American oligarchy that sees its relationship with China as a shield and sword against their own countrymen. Like Athens' Thirty Tyrants, they are not simply contemptuous of a political system that recognizes the natural rights of all its citizens that are endowed by our Creator; they despise in particular the notion that those they rule have the same rights they do. Witness their newfound respect for the idea that speech should only be free for the enlightened few who know how to use it properly.

Like Critias and the pro-Sparta faction, the new American oligarchy believes that democracy's failures are proof of their own exclusive right to power--and they are happy to rule in partnership with a foreign power that will help them destroy their own countrymen."

Highly reccomended.

Many of these corporations are structured like Ford where the control rests with a few founders and the plebes get stock appreciation but little control. They view America as a resource to be strip mined because essentially, they don't identify with the country they happen to reside in (aka cloud people) and the rest of the citizens in that country (dirt people more or less).
The cloud people believe that the Earth is flat and from their perspective, that is what they see. The common people of the world see something else-elites that basically do not care if the common people thrive or benefit from the flattening.

So maybe go with something like "Thanks GA Republicans that chose not to participate on or about January 5, give or take a week, even though Republican politicians passed the ability to invade your privacy into law and further enhanced those abilities after 9/11."

I think that would probably be a good shame post.

337 Physical and emotional fatigue is definitely also a factor. Usually the purge-ee has been physically and psychologically pummeled for a long time leading up to the final ride to the scaffold.

And in the aristocratic era, when personal and family honor was Kind Of A Big Deal, it was expected for notables to die well and those watching would fondly remember the gallant ones. This was, after all, a time when having one's sentence changed from beheading to hanging was a great humiliation; the nobility, being of a warrior tradition, are supposed to die bloody, not being moked out by a piece of wood and a rope.

The fact that we are about to let the government make examples of Andrew Rittenhouse, the redditt traders, Ashley Bibbitt, Donald Trump's stolen election, fencing in the Capitol, BoA spying on its customers, Facebook silencing us, Twitter shadowbanning us, Google censoring results, Youtube deleting every video we agree with.....makes me question what we will fight for. There is plenty of literature regarding people about how some manage glory or death--most usually death and a lot of it involves drugs and alcohol. Others are driven by rage and revenge.

A few are natural bad to the bone genuine killers of men like Wild Bill Hickok. He was once queried about his success as a gunman and he basically said, he will willing to pull the trigger when he drew when the other guy wasn't quite there yet mentally. Army studies also indicate that most of the effective killing by small arms fire was done by a relatively small percentage of men that had an outsized effect on enemy casualties. A military officer wrote a book, On Killing, Col. Grossman I believe, that describes on how the Army more or less reprograms recruits to be more lethal in combat.

Sometimes I wonder if the ZFG attitude that many youngers have regarding the concept of national identity is a consequence of the dry, largely meaningless ritualization of the anthem and the pledge of allegiance. Like how the most mystically oriented religions tend to produce the most hardcore, dyed in the wool atheists.

I was in the infantry, during Desert Storm... but was stateside when it all went down. There's a certain point I think, when one's training kicks in, and even if you don't THINK you might pull the trigger, you do. In part due to training, and in part due to your buddy next to you pulling his trigger. And once that initial time, that baptism occurs, it's infinitely easier the next time, even if the the next time it's only tiny fractions of a second difference.

I'll follow the right leadership to support the proper missions, but I am too easy a man to make a target out of. It makes my wife uneasy as I make COVID difficult for everyone. They held one of my boys out of elementary school for two weeks because he sat at a lunch table with someone who was COVID positive based on the seating chart. I was a dick to the person who called me, the nurse who followed up with me, and the principal and the teacher. My wife was not happy, but I told her you have to put up resistance at every single point or else this will continue forever. If they had to inform 10 families their kids were being kept out for 2 weeks, I hoped they got 8+ ear fulls. I imagine I was probably the only one.

I just need one state to secede and I'll move there and be happy.

408 SFGoth,
Much of our civic nationalism came about due to the massive immigration to the US from about 1870-1920 and the Civil War. Things like the Pledge of Allegiance, the emphasis on the national anthem, even the Civil War monuments, common history, etc. were meant to bind disparate regions together to prevent another Civil War. WWI and WWII, with a large percentage of males serving and almost universal effects in the US bumped up civic nationalism again. However, since the 1970's to the 2020's, massive immigration has been accompanied by identity politics and essentially destroying the idea of nationhood as racist. Education and culture have separated generations from each other and any social glue like the national anthems, public recognition of faith, pledges of allegiance, honoring military service, sharing a common history, etc. are gone. In the breach, 2021 civilization has individualism, identity with a tribe, and virtue signalling.
Remove the social glue from a society, all you have is like a chair with no glue in the joints of society--shaky and likely to collapse under a load.

421 362 Concur. My fighting time is past. It's not necessarily the job of every-man to take-up arms. Some people's roles involve simply keeping the lights on. I'm building a library of classics of western civ in hopes it will eventually find it's way to someone who will want to rebuild once this all goes to shit.

That's where I expect to wind up as well, unless someone starts directly shooting at me. One of the reasons I got so deeply involved with 3D printing is because it enables decentralized manufacturing--with the right materials and tools, someone can make what they need to a 'good enough' standard with a greatly simplified supply chain.

FYI it is, or at least used to be, possible to download an archive copy of the text portion of Wikipedia. Not sure about images, though if it's possible you're talking many, many terabytes of data. Say what you will about the objectivity of their current-events articles, but it's a good resource for historical and technical information. Project Gutenberg also offers some kind of a downloadable collection of all their stuff but I've not messed with it. I should.

At 4% debt servicing becomes unsustainable for the USA after 1-year. Translation - you will never see better than 2% return on "savings" ever again.

426 In the breach, 2021 civilization has individualism, identity with a tribe, and virtue signalling.
Remove the social glue from a society, all you have is like a chair with no glue in the joints of society--shaky and likely to collapse under a load.

In Rat areas, even this will not be enough. Urban America is far less stable than post-Tito Yugoslavia. Quite a few of the disparate factions only tolerate each other because they're being fattened up by government money. When that ends, hello!

443 @301 A whole RACE gets a NATIONAL anthem?
Old and busted. New hotz? The local city-county-state office building has a monthlong display of the "Pan-African" flag, even with the US and state flags. As we know, most slaves were not taken in areas that had national identities, and they were taken by others who were not operating under national colors. Descendants of those people, for the most part, cannot say what country their ancestors would have been from (although I'll give you this, that DNA testing can give some fractional clues for regional tribes).

There is no vexillology at all involved in African background until well after the slave trading era of the western hemisphere was over. And yet somehow "we" have come up with one flag to represent a whole continent -- free tribesmen, slave captives, slave hunters, slaver merchants, the whole shebang -- for a month. Bet they can find a way to blame the Jews.

446 The little girl in the small Midwest town was famous for her soft hair that smelled of sweet, ripe peaches. For years, her parents vigilantly protected her from the visitors who travelled from all over the world just get a sniff of her magically sweet hair. But one fateful summer day, there was a knock on their door The mother opened it just enough to see the old man in a leather jacket and aviator sunglasses casually leaning against her porch railing . Ive come to smell her hair, he slurred. Before she could react, the old man whipped off his sunglasses, glared at her with lifeless, dilated black eyes and screeched. Trunalimunaprzure! The mother screamed in terror.

It's one thing to lose an empire and altogether another thing to lose your country.
