The Morning Report - 2/4/21 [J.J. Sefton]

Good morning, kids. Thursday and I don't know how much more of this upside down, Orwellian, Kafkaesque nightmare I can stomach. It all boils down to one thing: It's the hypocrisy, stupid. After murdering America, gutting its corpse and now prancing around in its rotting, maggot-ridden skin-suit, the Enemy now demand respect by loudly proclaiming themselves to be the standard bearers of truth, justice and freedom. The Democrat Party that quite literally kept people in chains, threw people into concentration camps and has used political violence on numerous occasions, up to and including assassination, has projected that guilt upon all of us and created the greatest scapegoat in history since the Jews. And for the sin of our mere existence, we are to be annihilated, or should I say "re-educated."

The immediate target is of course President-in-Exile Donald Trump, who is currently the subject (I won't say defendant because it gives this mockery a sheen of legitimacy) of a farcical show trial dressed up as an impeachment. As Trump has stated, "In reality, they're not after me. They're after you. I'm just in the way." That is the Tsar-Bomba of truth nukes right there, my friends. One of the leaders of this creeping blob of cancer is Cuck Schemer, aka Chuck Schumer, a man (on paper) who has never done an honest hour's, let alone day's work in his miserable existence. Of all the shrill, shrieking, screeching megaphones of malevolence, his lowlife, nasal Flatbush accent is among the loudest and most detestable in its hypocrisy. Mollie Hemingway lets him have it at The Federalist:

Less than one year ago, Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York led a mob on the steps of the Supreme Court while a case was being heard and tried to thwart the natural deliberation of justices by violently threatening two of them to rule in favor of his and other Democrats' preferred outcome.
"I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won't know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions," Schumer threatened the two most recently confirmed justices, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh.
The threat was so alarming that even leftist activists such as Laurence Tribe condemned it. Schumer received a rare, same-day rebuke from Chief Justice John Roberts, who said, "Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous..."
... Schumer's threats came just 17 months after the Supreme Court had been besieged and attacked by abortion activists upset at Kavanaugh's confirmation. Like the Jan. 6 event, the October 2018 siege also involved Vice President Mike Pence being condemned by protesters. As he walked down the steps of the U.S. Senate following the vote to confirm Kavanaugh, the crowd greeted him with chants of "shame!"
Across the street, hordes of protesters broke through a police barricade and attempted to beat down the 13-ton bronze doors of the court. Protesters included a topless woman with a Hitler mustache and another woman who scaled the Contemplation of Justice statue in front of the court and sat in her lap to the cheers of other protesters...
... Democrats' argument in favor of Trump's impeachment is that even though he told his protesters to be peaceful, his refusal to accept the 2020 election incited a mob. What to do, then, with a Senate majority leader who issued a violent threat against Supreme Court justices after a multi-year campaign to undermine confidence in Supreme Court confirmation processes?

Mark Levin piled on, and underscored Hemingway's remarks, with volume:

"[I] want to talk quickly about Chuck Schumer -- you mentioned it," Levin said. "He threatened two U.S. Supreme Court justices. He threatened the Supreme Court. He assembled a mob on the stairs of a Supreme Court that tried to break into the Supreme Court, but for that 13-foot bronze door there. And he warns those justices that they are, in fact, in for hell if they don't vote the way he wants. He threatened the Supreme Court. He used the Kavanaugh hearings him as Mollie Hemingway so brilliantly wrote, 'to convene a mob, to disrupt hearings.'"
"Who the hell does this clown, Schumer, think he is?" Levin continued. "Stomping all over the Constitution with a 50-50 vote in the Senate, trying to impose his will on the American people, on the whole country, and now going to have a rogue trial? He's the one that should be on trial and all the other reprobates that have for decades been threatening the American people and making outrageous comments to try to stir up and create fringies [sic] among their own base."

Cuck Schemer is a clown the way that little corporal with the Charlie Chaplin moustache, was a clown. He may not be a great speechmaker, but when you have the power of the State behind you, the trains will run on time just the same. Not him personally, of course, but an alarming number of people who voted for "President Joe Aqualung" that are up your street and in some cases living under the same roof as you. How did this happen? Slowly, then all at once.

The relentless and escalating censorship being practiced by Big Tech and the establishment media, along with the ongoing canceling of dissent by corporations and academia, are designed to stamp out rebellion. They are designed to prevent the Overton Window from being pulled back into the realm of common sense.
Put another way, now that the establishment has gotten the Overton Window positioned exactly where it wants it, any shift in "acceptable political discourse" poses a grave danger. An article published in July 2019 by the BBC made the establishment position embarrassingly plain on the threat represented by right-of-center narratives. "The more mainstream these narratives become," security correspondent Gordon Corera wrote, "the greater the tension will be over whether they really are extreme or whether they represent acceptable political discourse, and the views of a substantial number of real people."
"Acceptable political discourse," expressing "the views of a substantial number of real people." We'd better closely monitor and manage that, hadn't we? What members of the Trump rebellion must remember is not only that they are not extremists, but that the term "moderate" no longer carries the tepid connotations it once did. To be a moderate centrist today is to have common sense. To be a moderate centrist today is to reject the extremism of the mainstream establishment. In today's upside-down political culture, moderate centrism has become stigmatized as extremism. But common sense, moderate centrism is only extreme insofar as it presents a mortal threat to America's corrupt ruling class, who have betrayed the nation and the people who made possible their lives of wealth, privilege, and power.

When decent people like Kyle Rittenhouse will now be treated like a terrorist and probably faces the rest of his life, which won't be worth a plug nickel, in a Federal prison while actual terrorist Joanne Chesimard is probably on her way to being pardoned and as her likeness is carved into Mount Rushmore (after they blast away the four evil white men), we are through the glass, and darkly.

Why don't we, at this point, know the cause of death? Because it wasn't the mob, I would suggest.

The articles I read yesterday said that the autopsy report has not been released publicly, but people who have read it say the ME found no sign of any head trauma, which appears to rule out the theory that he was hit in the head (either with a fire extinguisher or some other weapon) at the Capitol. The other theory was that he had experienced some sort of allergic reaction to tear gas or pepper spray or had some other sort of respiratory issue from something he inhaled at the Capitol or some substance he was exposed to, but that was also ruled out as the ME found nothing to support it.

Sources are saying that the officer had an underlying medical condition, still unnamed, that caused his death.

So bottom line is we still don't know what killed him, but it's looking more likely that whatever it was, it had nothing to do with the events of 1/6.

I am inclined to agree, but it might not be technically necessary. A soft secession (nullification) is probably more likely, and more likely to succeed. The nullifiers can do a PR blitz that they're doing nothing the Left hasn't (for what are "sanctuary cities" and drug decriminalization or outright legalization if not nullification) while the states tell the feds to pound sand and start filling in the gaps in the budget that it will cause (yet never caused for the Left, of course).

Nullification leads either to success (unlikely) or outright secession and possibly war (more likely). I would be on the lookout for ever-increasing nullification, probably starting in the Dakotas or Oklahoma.

I'll have some of the details wrong I'm sure, but apparently he and his family moved to a safehouse because of threats to their lives and his attorneys contacted the prosecutors to inform them of the move. The prosecutors sent paperwork to the address on file (the one they'd been informed he'd moved from) and it was returned because there was no forwarding address, and now the prosecutors want Kyle back in jail on a "wherabouts unknown" premise since they're unable to make his current address available to the public.

it's amazing that it's gone downhill as much as it has. sure, there have always been peaks and valleys in it, but in the 00s there was still some funny stuff but you could really see it changing. now, it's completely unwatchable.

Honestly - it's surreal. I've felt like this for quite some time. Right now, I'm in my home office - munching on a warm bagel with ham and cheese and washing it down with a diet Coke. Typing random thoughts on the computer to people I don't know. Looking around at quite a lot of nice stuff in a nice house, for a self made fellow of lower class beginnings.

And I know - I'm absolutely sure - that in a period of years and maybe even months, none of it is going to be the same and probably quite a bit of it gone. Yet, all there is to do is eat this bagel and type until I'm ready to start working - because it's just too damn soon to do anything else yet. It's bizarre.

Every evening I came home he'd destroyed something including chewing off a panel on the back door. It took all my restraint not to terminate him. But once they turn a year old it's like a switch flips and they stop doing it.

Part of the issue is past relationships in the House, I bet that if you knew the representatives voting for her that a lot of those were from the Bush Cheney era and had money raised for them via those two and maybe were recruited by those two to run.

Another part is the leadership, since Newt and his team (Dick Armey, Tom Delay), the Republicans went back to non-confrontational leaders. But, these leaders are ruthless with the rank and file because they control the resources--cmte assignments, funding, etc. Most representatives do not want to run their own funding operations so they outsource to the party. This makes donor and leadership factors more important in decision making than their constituents. Ultimately, it often breeds an attitude of contempt for their constituents who they assume will vote for them in order to keep their religion, guns, and taxes low. The rest of the issues, these party apparatchiks follow the leadership line which follows the big donors.

Most members then choose go along to get along in order to avoid hostility and the temptation to stay in the group herd for protection is almost overwhelming.

That's a fine line, Fen. They play make-believe for a living. That is not important so far as professions go. It is often enjoyable (thus their audience and market), but not unique or particularly productive. Actors - as Hollywood has shown us - are interchangeable parts. There is no reason for them to be idolized or deified like they are, and plenty of reason to do the opposite.

I agree with you, but that's quite a different point than saying they're "lying for a living" I think the world would be a much greyer place if I couldn't have seen or see "All Creatures Great and Small" or "A Man for All Seasons" or "Rumpole of the Bailey" or any number of shows and movies. You don't like the idolization and you don't like the politics. Neither do I, but I still enjoy the performances

Sure. Art matters, and I won't argue otherwise. Performances can be great. A truly great performance can overcome mediocrity in the actual creativity (the writing and, in the case of cinema and TV, the direction), but that is fairly rare. My point, I suppose, is that actors are not particularly special (with rare exceptions) and shouldn't be elevated beyond whores in terms of how they are viewed.

Leo McKern was actually a right wing populist, no idea about Scofield. These days, however, we have a very good idea about where actors and singers stand politically. We know they support transgenderism, abortion and open borders. We know because they are constantly telling us. And no matter how many times they go to rehab, how badly they behave, they are still idolized. Yeah, we are talking about modern entertainment and actors, because in all honesty you probably couldn't find anyone under 35 who know who Leo McKern is or even saw A Man for All Seasosn. They have difficulty telling the two world wars apart, but they think profane, actors are like saints

I feel inspired we must immediately begin passing specific legislation in red states against a federal gun grab.

After failing to grab our guns under Obama through legislative means the left are now making lists and coordinating to grab our guns under the cover of night after the next big domestic terror attack.

Remeber tmamvy Pelosi saying they will parachute in or go under the fence? Remeber, that was just for corporate controlled insurance under more civilized times.

Reality is that most people aren't brave hear. That is a horrible and doomed plan. The majority of cops will follow orders and side with whomever signs their retirement papers. Most people will surrender their guns and few sad ham handed resisters will only fuel the media narrative to support the grabbing.

Clock is ticking.

465 Just a quick question that I hope someone can answer for me. As I understand it, the US Senate consists of 50 GOP, 48 Dems, and 2 Independents. Now I understand that the 2 Indies caucus with the Dems, but the fact remains that they are NOT Dems. So why is the GOP not the majority?

I don't think it's automatic, unless there is a clear majority of D vs R. I think there is a pro-forma vote that determines which party is in the majority and who is the leader of th chamber.
