Republican Congressmen Urge Censure for AOC, Over Her Ridiculous, Violence-Inciting Claim That Ted Cruz Tried to "Murder" Her;
Congressional Staffer Snowflakes Bleat About the "Trauma" They Experienced, Watching the Capitol Hill Riot on TV

It was just a few years ago that a deranged leftist, incited by hot chatter from Rachel Maddow, attempted to execute seven Republicans at a baseball field.

Deranged mentally-retarded tart Alexandria Donkey-Chompers is now essentially painting a Steve Scalise type target on Ted Cruz's back, implicitly asking her own deranged followers to avenge her attempted murder.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Thursday accused Sen. Ted Cruz of almost having her murdered. Really.

She was responding to a two-word tweet from Cruz agreeing with her about the need for a congressional hearing about the recent stock market insanity. "Happy to work w/almost any other GOP that aren’t trying to get me killed," she wrote, presumably with a straight face, before calling on Cruz to resign.

In fact, Cruz did not try to have AOC murdered. What he did do was formally object to the certification of the Electoral College vote in a more or less ceremonial joint session of Congress on Jan. 6, the same day an angry mob forced its way into the U.S. Capitol.

...

[M]oving the linguistic goalposts the way AOC and Pelosi and others on the left routinely do is dangerous. This isn’t just some Twitter dunk-fest. Manipulating language to impute guilt or wrongdoing to people or groups merely because they’re your political opponents is a recipe for escalating civil strife.

Mike Lee and Chip Roy are urging a censure of this deranged little drama-queen attention-whore snowflake.

"It has come to my attention that Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez sent out a tweet a few hours ago in which she accused one of our colleagues -- twice -- of attempted murder," Lee wrote in a letter to the Senate obtained by The Federalist. "I believe that, as a conference, we should immediately and publicly call on her to retract her statement and apologize. If she refuses to do so -- and perhaps even if she doesn't -- I think she should be admonished or censured by the House."

Neither of these guys mention the shooting of Steve Scalise. They should.

Speaking of deranged little drama-queen attention-whore snowflakes: This article by the leftwing Roll Call rag is everything.

Insurrection aftermath: Staffers struggle with trauma, guilt and fear

'You all had it coming,' callers tell congressional aides still reliving the day in their minds

They replay the day in their minds, hear threats when they pick up the phone, and try to keep doing their jobs. Congressional staffers are still struggling in the aftermath of the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, whether they hid from the violent mob in their workplace or watched in terror from home.

Spoiler: It's mostly "watched from home."

Speaker Nancy Pelosi addressed the ongoing toll last week, when she told reporters that she attended a session on trauma hosted by the Office of the Attending Physician and Office of Employee Assistance. The items stolen from her office and the glass and furniture broken at the Capitol were simply violations of property, she said, even if they signaled a larger threat to democracy.

If I can quote the Democrats from March through like fifteen days ago:

"It's just property. It's insured."

"I respect the speaker's office and the accoutrement of history that is there. But I'm more concerned about the damage that they did to our staff, to our colleagues in the Congress, to the custodial staff," she said. "That is damage. That is damage that must be addressed."

No staff was in fact "damaged."

They mean "Mental damage."

More than a dozen congressional aides and workers within the legislative branch spoke to CQ Roll Call about the anguish of the past few weeks, most requesting that their names not be used so they could candidly describe their own mental health and the resources provided by their employers.

Now, most of the congressional staffers were not in the Capitol-- they've been working from home for months, due to covid.

But guess what? They say they were still "traumatized" by the danger that was not in fact approaching them.

They were mentally scarred by the non-threats.

The hallways have been relatively empty for months, as the small city that is the Capitol complex adapted to the coronavirus...

But staffers who worked from home on Jan. 6 say they are traumatized too, describing feelings of guilt and helplessness.

...

Another staffer who was teleworking on Jan. 6 said she is having a hard time, and being remote is making it even harder. Two days after the attack, she got on a long-planned video call with two staffers from other offices and finally shared some communal grief.

People who were not in the Capitol are getting on Zoom calls with other people who were not in the Capitol and having flashbacks to events they did not witness and danger they were not in.

...

"There's a lot of stress and anger going on," Connolly said. "We're validating feelings, whatever they are."

"Interestingly, the people I think who were struggling the most are the people who physically were not here," he said.

That is interesting. Mental illness is interesting.*

One Senate legislative staffer focused on health care has felt an extra burden of providing resources to her peers, simply because she has relationships with mental health organizations.

Wait, she is a fucking office flunky who talks with mental health organizations, so now she's a fucking honorary psychiatrist?

When the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention emailed her some resources, she hit "forward" to send them along to her colleagues.

Holy shit, she hit "forward" on an email. What a legend. Is it too early to give her the Congressional Medal of Honor? Do they have a specific category for Email-Forwards Above and Beyond the Call of Duty?

Back to whining about the mental trauma not suffered by staffers who were not present and therefore not menaced. But they're getting Mean Phone Calls from alleged Trump Supporters, about having "deserved" what did not in fact happen to them:

Often, it falls on junior aides like staff assistants to field the calls and voicemails coming into an office. In pre-pandemic times, more experienced staff might overhear them getting slammed and give them a break or coach them through dealing with the aggression. But COVID-19 remote work has weakened some of those backstops.

"These are 20-somethings sitting alone in their apartment fielding these calls," said the House Democratic aide. "Obviously, really abhorrent and demoralizing stuff for staff who have already been through a lot."

Minorities, women hardest hit, as usual:

Black staffers, many of whom marched to promote protecting Black lives against police brutality, watched as a diminished Capitol Police presence was overtaken by the overwhelmingly white horde, in some cases opening doors and taking selfies with insurrectionists inside the building.

"I'm not sure I can say I've truly been able to 'cope' with these events, but in this time I have prioritized self-care and allowing myself to feel the feelings I have instead of pushing them out of my mind," one Black staffer told CQ Roll Call.

Self-care, because they witnessed a white person taking a selfie. On TV.
I wonder how the citizens of cities besieged by antifa and BLM for a fucking year feel.

Oh well, who cares about them. They're mostly white. Garbage-people beneath contempt.

They have now done more reports on the "mental harm" experienced by Congressional staffers watching MSNBC from home than on the actual bullet wounds of the seven Congressmen shot by the Maddow-inspired leftwing assassin James Hodgkinson.

The nation is doomed, and it deserves its doom. A weak, stupid, evil people will not prosper. They have not prospered in the past. They will not prosper now.

* I said that as a joke. Mental illness is not interesting. It is extremely boring. Mentally illness comes in a few major types and otherwise it's all the same. These snowflakes who have "mental illness" as their chief personality trait are all barely-sentient ruminant robots.

100 Self-care, because they witnessed a white person taking a selfie, on TV.

You know what? I'm not the person to judge someone else's ability to cope with trauma, real or perceived. Some people just have no reserves to fall back on. If they've never endured true hardship in their lives, or do not have a family structure to fall back on, I get it.

But as a person right now today is trying to stay out of the hospital, who is trying to stay off of a feeding tube, who is trying to avoid ECT - these people are making a mockery of those who deal with mental illness on an on-going basis. They are minimizing what can be a very debilitating way of life. So when someone talks about mental health care, they are no longer talking about people like me. They are talking about twits.

This isn't a millennial thing- the WSB army is filled with them. It's not strictly a political thing. They know they have declared war on 75 million Americans, the capitol riot just reminded them of what actual conflict might entail, and ooops now they feel vulnerable and are scared hiding behind 1000s of national guardsmen.

They see they pushed people to where they are willing to commit illegal acts and put their lives at risk rather than submit and kneel quietly and they are scared of what that could mean if it escalates. And they intend to keep pushing....

Stopped doing that when Barky was elected. Thought about doing it when Teh Donald was elected, but didn't.

Now? I'll never throw a party again. Even watching 1776 is a sick joke.

Welp the administrative state has been amassing power for quite a while. I was afraid they'd fuck with Drumpf right from the getgo by delaying social security checks and such; and when that didn't happen (probably because they could've been fired with cause) I had a misplaced sense of security. The DOJ and State Dept. deserve to be nuked. Probably everyone else too but start there and see what happens.

At the state level, Ohio conducted a reasonably legit election. The rest of you living in corrupt turd states have some planning to do.

I'm sure that would cause a furor, DHS would be going full blast on the hunt, the FBI would be searching under every rock, and those that wrote it, acted in it, watched it, appaulded it, funded it, said nothing against it, would find themselves in a heap of legal trouble, out of jobs, and no access to bank funds.

Serious you guys, that would be traumatizing. My homeowners insurance won't cover the $52 worth of desk items if, God Forbid, my place of business had been burned down!

I am in fact, jealous of the people who lost their businesses to the BLM/Antifa/Democrat fires over the summer. At least they know its over...I still have to worry...are they gonna set fire to my $57 dollars of desk items?? (I forgot about my happy desk air noodle!)

The business owners who lost their businesses to fire over the summer? How lucky. They got to take their turn first. I am still waiting!

But you know, we definitely have to waste four hours of 35 people to discuss this non-problem.

At one point they asked if anyone in the group had any stories about harassment. We all sat their stone faced. They kept prodding...don't be shy. One person put up their hand and asked, maybe it just doesn't happen? Our trainers insisted it happens ALL THE TIME and that people were just afraid... I looked aorund an no one seemed afraid. I think we sat there for a very awkward 10 minutes.

322 My complaint about Scorsese is he's credited for talent that I just don't see.

I recall vividly the scene in Cape Fear where he rotates the camera in a 360 spin (and maybe does a dolly zoom, I forget). It was utterly distracting.

Same in his Dracula--he did this matte thing when what's her name is falling where we see like three images at once. It was like a bad 80's portrait, and distracting, and didn't work.

It seems to me--and maybe I pick on him--but every visual match is unsubtle, every camera effect demands that we notice hey hey everybody it's time for a Scorsese moment. And they all miss.

All the lefties are freaking out over their irrational fears over the Jan 6 events. Way I look at it is if you are a govt. worker and you are afraid of the general populace, then that is a good thing. Let that fear guide your decisions. And deciding to put up a fence isn't going to save you, btw.

If I ever have to have a IRL sensitivity training again, I am so using this! And no, I won't care if they fire me.

460 I believe that they truly believe this. It is the only way that they could reconcile the national rejection.

One of the hardest things to do is to admit that you are wrong. Not just "I made a mistake" but that your basic presuppositions -- your foundational ideas on how everything works and fits together -- are wrong. That you were not just mistaken but your basic ideas about truth and reality are false.

That's not just embarrassing, its psychologically traumatic and people will do almost ANYTHING to avoid it, no matter the overwhelming evidence.

It's disgusting

467 387 Fenelon,
'Really-he sounds like a malignant narcisscist.'

Even years ago, his attitude is typical of the people who climbed highest on the political scale of power.

I used to be involved in politics--that is why I got out of it.

Even at the local level, the exercise of power is sought by far too many people that should never have it.

468 460 Christopher,
Wise people admit that they are wrong so that they learn from it.

We no longer worship being wise but instead of intellect. Thus, being wrong results in social demotion. Most people cannot handle that.

White horde? Like Vikings?

Bless you for a good laugh, Ace, and bless you for your moral clarity on this as well. Yes, this is an active and virulent issue of mental illness. Anyone claiming to be terrorized by the events of 1/6 are either lying or suffering from significant mental illness.

475 So, "4," you have a "youngest" and yet you refer to your target class as "millennials." How much over 38 are you? Everybody in the country from 22 to 38 is a lot of people to bite the ass of all at once. Maybe they will eat you alive while you are still screaming. Perhaps one will absent-mindedly shut off your life-support switch on the way out the door. Just remember, you started it.
