The Morning Report - 1/28/21 [J.J. Sefton]

hesthose.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and I'm not going to lie to you. Things are getting bleaker by the day, and we're only eight days into what is for all intents and purposes an illegal, criminal junta. With the stroke of a few dozen crayons, Joe Stolin has wiped out thousands of jobs with the shuttering of Keystone XL, which will multiply exponentially as the blast wave hits the rest of the economy, ditto for canceling of drilling and mining permits on public lands, halted the construction of the necessary and effective border wall, and sending what's left of our demoralized and abused men and women, and now Frankenstein monster hermaphrodites and other psychotic freaks and other bitter Klingers who make Dame Edna look like Chesty Puller into various and sundry third world meat grinders for no other reason than to keep Raytheon and TRW stocks pumped. Would be fitting if the same Wall Street corporatists and cronies got the Game Stop treatment as well, but I digress.

That and so much more in only one week was the hobnailed jackboot to the groin. Now comes the stomp on the head. Political persecution and punishment of any and all voices of opposition. Daniel Greenfield at Frontpage Mag:

The difference between resistance and sedition, between protests and insurrections, is who's in charge. Democrats resist Republican elected officials. Republicans however commit sedition against Democrat elected officials. Democrats protest, Republicans riot. These aren't distinctions in law. The only real distinction is who's in power and who's on the barricades.

Political hypocrisy isn't a new phenomenon, but Democrats weaponizing the national security state to suppress the political opposition over the same behavior they engage in is a serious threat to the survival of the United States as anything other than a banana republic in a civil war.

The Democrats fired the first shot when the Obama administration used the national security system to target members of Congress during its time in office and then, in an election year, went after President Trump's associates based on Hillary Clinton's opposition research.

Instead of being held accountable for abusing national security to target their political opponents, Democrats, their media, and their allies in the system doubled down with fake investigations of the same worthless allegations that they never managed to substantiate.

After four years of falsely claiming that President Trump was a Russian agent and that the 2016 election had somehow been rigged with Facebook ads in an event that was worse than 9/11, the Democrats have pivoted to claiming that questioning the 2020 election is worse than 9/11.

Now the old abuse of the national security state under the guise of hunting down the evidence that Republicans had rigged the 2016 election has turned into abusing the national security state to punish Republicans for suggesting that the Democrats had rigged the 2020 election.

The only consistent thing here is the Democrat abuse of national security to target their political opponents while magically transforming election skepticism from the highest form of patriotism to sedition, and riots from a moral crusade into a major threat because they are now in power.

Well, you can't have a Great Reset without an even greater deprogramming of wrong-think. Victor Davis Hanson in American Greatness:

Retired General Stanley McChrystal warns that the Trump movement reminds him of the al-Qaeda terrorists who once flocked to a similar "powerful leader--presumably Osama bin Laden.

Indeed, our retired military, once critical of the use of the military as domestic police, had no objection to deploying nearly 30,000 soldiers on Inauguration Day in the capital--all on the lookout for nests of Trump insurrectionists.

So Pentagon budgets perhaps should readapt to this reality. What good are missiles and jets when NRA members with MAGA hats roam freely in our midst?

To help McChrystal and Austin, we could enlist former CIA director John Brennan, former FBI Director James Comey, and former DNI director James Clapper to form a Deprogramming Task Force to root out the "enemies within."

Public spirited administration appointees--working closely with Silicon Valley, Wall Street, Hollywood, and New York media elites--might issue lists of all social media users indulging in "hate speech" and "big lies."

As both of these great writers note, much of the apparatus of "deprogramming" America in service to its "fundamental transformation" was put in place or ramped up starting with Obama. In truth, the real deprogramming took place over the course of the past 50 or more years in our schools, where two to three generations of American children were brainwashed into hating their country, society, culture and parents. Now, they are in every corporate boardroom, factory floor, business, union hall, military unit, police force and of course classroom across the country.

If you want to call it a ray of hope, the confusion over the impeachment and removal from office of Donald Trump, who has already been removed from office, evidently is going to go forward. Cuck Schemer is clucking his blasphemous chicken lips in lowlife Brooklynese that the trial will go forward. Ultimately, though aside from the five scum traitors on the GOP-wing side of the Senate, there will not be nearly enough votes to reach the two-thirds majority to convict.

No matter, it's all for show. When they go after Trump - in or out of office - they are going after you. Let them. Go ahead Schemer. Turn Donald Trump into Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi or more appropriately Natan Scharansky and Andrei Sakharov. Do that and you stoke a fire that is ultimately going to consume you and your ilk.

That fire is going to be something to see. Let it burn. Make it burn. Until then, the beatings will continue until morale improves.

28 Biden could be the greatest gift of all. In a very short period of time, it will become obvious he is not in possession of his faculties and it will occur to a lot of people that he was never fit for office. Yet, he was handpicked and dragged across the finish line. When everyone knows he is a puppet, the obvious question is who is the puppet master?

29 Thanks for the links Mr. JJ! I think this is interesting: Remember how Obumbles (et al) could reliably get career Dtards to fall on their swords to save "their" agendas? (See: Obamacare aftermath)
Now, the Uniparty is so powerful, they can get (nominal) Republicans to fall on their swords for the Dtards agenda.

Me too, but I fear it will be short lived. The SEC will dig up a 1930's law about "trading collusion" or some such bullshit, and hound those Redditer's to the end of the earth. The IRS will pull out the Lois Lerner sized strap-on and destroy them.

Sorry, Kamala will take over. The demise of Biden will be attributed to a sudden neurological event. The public will not be able to ask who is the "puppet master" or they will be blacklisted like every minor Trump official who is being told "no job for you". The libs are making examples out of all the low level Trump people from DC. The blacklist is real and it will be extended to people who ask too many questions.

Yes. Expansive "national security" claims have one requirement. It is in fact the same thing that our dead Constitution requires. It requires honor and justice - not among the document or structures themselves, but among the *men* shepherding those structures.

There is no honor or justice, and this all is abused. It's why I am no longer surprised by anything. I lament what is happening and and I hate what is happening, but I am not surprised by it. There are no limits or boundaries anymore.

This was all entirely unforeseeable and in reality, her actions likely emphasize the generally smart move (at a fundamental level, though not in execution) that the hedge fund made. The hedge fund thought the stock was overvalued and ripe for profit-taking on a short position. The company insiders sold at about the same time and price. They agreed that this was as good as it was likely to get for a while.

The mistake was naked shorting it and putting >100% of the float short. That was so recklessly stupid that it is astounding that these guys are the masters of the universe.

Game Stop (GME) is a failing brick-and-mortar video games business centered in malls. It has been sliding down the razor blade to bankruptcy for a long time. Late last year, the stock climbed a bit, into the $20 range.

A hedge fund decided that it was ripe for short sale profit. So they shorted it aggressively and then announced their position to help drive the stock down further. Their position was extreme, ending up with >100% of the tradeable shares in a short position (they shorted it over and over again). This is weird and is where the hedge fund made a catastrophic error.

A group of day traders on Reddit noticed this and decided to punish the hedge fund for being stupid and/or for going after gaming (this is unclear). They pumped the stock up to obscene levels to punish the hedge fund by forcing them to cover their short positions to stop the bleeding. This broke at least one hedge fund and damaged multiple others as they had to sell off core assets to cover their losses. GME trading then became manic.

Naked shorting is illegal (as it should be, seeing as it's fraud) after the 2009 crash. If *you* tried to do what the hedge fund did, you'd be stopped by your brokerage house and likely investigated by the SEC. Hedge funds, though, are still allowed to it for reasons that make no sense whatsoever.

Not even. Margin is just credit. Borrowing money to buy equities. People do it ALL THE TIME with no shenanigans or manipulation. Short selling HAS to take place on margin--those shares are BORROWED.

Remember kids, the object of the stock market is to Buy Low and Sell High. Nobody says you have to do it in that order, ergo, short selling.

The Republican party is so damn corrupt that it doesn't make sense to me for Trump to stay in it.

Instead, with a new third party focused on Americans and a sound nation, Trump would draw a good percentage of the Democrats who simply can't continue to watch their party go Communist.
And more importantly, the Repubs will have to either go down with their ship, or publicly announce they are leaving and going to the new party. Every time that happens, another brick falls. And face it, the ones left know they aren't getting re-elected if they don't change.

224 Too many people confuse the troubles of the day or the hope that our problems will be lifted soon with the fact that God will not be mocked.

That is the exact opposite of what Galatians 6:7 teaches. If one simply continues to read the part after the comma, they would also see "for whatever one sows, that will he also reap".

If individuals (and some may assert nations) sows wickedness and sin, then why be surprised when a bountiful harvest of evil comes in that season?

1. That is what secondary markets are. Typically money does not flow into or out of the business in the process.
2. It also as a consequence doesn't wreck businesses. Whether a business goes through bankruptcy is more up to the creditors than the shareholders.

The political realities of a third party are that depending on the platform will only split one or the other of the two main ones.

The GOP is dead to me. But they have the money and infrastructure to run candidates in virtually every race up and down the ticket. A new third party., even with Trump on top does not. Even if left unimpeded by the Junta, it would take at least a decade for it to even remotely become effective enough to win races that give it a majority.

The Republican Party has really changed over 4 years.

All Cheney needed to do was quietly decide not to attack the most recent Republican president, who wasn't even out of office at the time, and she could have continued in leadership based on solid wins in her House race back "home" in Wyoming.

Instead, she shit on the party as a whole, preferring a pointless fight based almost exclusively over personality rather that took the side of the opposition party rather than just being a good foot soldier, and as a result she literally has no future in the party at all.

The next couple of years in the GOP are going to be interesting to watch. They thought they'd be free of Trump, his style, and his policies. They were wrong.

I do not see that, at all. Of course it depends on how it's done, but the model of New York's Conservative party would be unlike what the author describes. Unless they're Charlie Goodell.

I realize that state laws vary, and in some that wouldn't be feasible. But where it is, I don't see how it would necessarily fail. It would even be possible for the new party to run in those places the GOP chickens out.

Of course they will. The downside, though, is that retail investors provide a *lot* of liquidity, especially on platforms like Robin Hood that allow fractional ownership of expensive equities. If they ice out the retail investors to eliminate the possibility of a distributed short squeeze, they're going to remove a lot of equity value and cause volatility to increase quite a bit and probably secularly (a persistent, long-term trend).

They're playing with fire by icing out retail investing. They'll do it anyway and get away with it, but that risk the pawn off on the rubes is going to have to be taken up by the insiders and institutional folks.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we are the RINOs.I have little in common with the leadership in my party. I'm a Republican by default, in name only.

Do you think Mitch McConnell worries about what the Lord thinks of him when he is positioning himself to receive large bags of government contract cash? I do when I think about whether I should take as a drink at a party without asking the party host if it is okay.

Do you think that Republican lawmakers care about abortion? Free speech? The lives of our 18-25 year old soldiers from rural America? The nuclear family? Whether John's Hardware can compete with Home Depot? Cuture? History? Anything other than wealth and power? They don't. They don't answer to me, I answer to them.

The tldr of the Martha Stewart case is that her broker, who got away scott free, did insider trading and she panicked and lied to the FBI about something when they came to question her. As far as the financial world and regulations are concerned, the professional who orchestrated the whole affair, ie the broker, is the guilty party. At one time I was a flight engineer. It took me 2 years of training to get a basic qualification for my job. Availability of Flight engineers were the rate limiting step in generating aircraft to fly supplies overseas to Iraq. AF Chief Gen Jumper decided the AF was not paying its fair share in death in Iraq and ordered that AF E6-E7 would be sent to Iraq to be convoy commanders. I was selected to go. They can't fly as many C5 aircraft as they need to, but are willing to fly one less because it is not faaaiiirr that the Army is losing more soldiers. I guess in his mind, it is just an enlisted job, how hard can it be? Just plug another enlisted into the job and keep flying.

They say they tested for that response and that it does not occur for this vaccine the way it did for Dengue

518 So I was reading about the mRHA vaccines. They cause a fake immune response to the Chinese Flu. So second dose is a booster to ensure the cells no how to respond. There is some thought that in older people that down the road if the see the real virus their immune system with respond with an auto immune response, possibly killing them.

I'm not talking about driving it by money and organization. I'm saying we're driving it by just openly saying it, the GOP is an enemy to us, not our allies.

This I can attest to. Half my portfolio is in metals paper and I know they fuk with it. But I also know they will drive the dollar to worthless territory so buckle up, hold on, you'll be glad you did. Don't let em shake you out if you got in at the last bottom (like I did).

525 I'm for this approach instead of creating a third party. Doing a hostile takeover of the GOP would be far easier than establishing a new party with all the quirks of each state being fulfilled.
Posted by: jwest at January 28, 2021 09:07 AM (/BlEx)

Why do we keep saying this?
We tried... a few times now. The GOPe just tanks the races to teach the rubes a lesson. They tanked house races, senate races and a president... but next time we got em... What will we be doing differently to enact this "takeover"? I'm open to it, if there is a plan more than get em in the primaries!

528 At the SFGate (San Francisco Chronicle) website you can find out that those Redditors that saved Gamestop from the hedge fund shorters aren't so great after all. From an employee making $11 an hour the celebratory tone from the Redditors is THE WORSE THING EVER

529 I think it's going to take something like Holder's Federal overtake of the Ferguson, Mo police after Mike Brown applied to the leftist dominated school system. I don't know where the federal troops would come from, since they're on the side of the indoctrinators.
