A few months ago, I was on an offshore project, working for my usual project manager. Said PM is a wormy, lazy, lying, pill junkie piece of shit-- constantly behind on everything. Well, he's doing his usual lazy piece of shit thing, and it gets to the point where he doesn't respond to any emails or pick up his phone for three days straight, leaving me trying to coordinate with our client and make the job happen without him, just doing shit on my own.
About ten days into the job, and it's after shift. I'm lying in my bunk around 2200 and I'm absolutely boiling with rage at this fucker because he refuses to do his job. I'm steamed, BP and pulse up, visualizing walking into his office with my heavy bag gloves on and pounding him into hamburger on the floor tiles. Then I realize something: He's never, ever going to change, his bosses are never going to bring him to heel, and he will never, ever do his job properly. Me raging into a heart attack will do nothing but hurt me. So I let it go. This is like that. Anger will fix nothing by itself.

Sure, everyone is into different stuff. I hear so many pop culture names and have not a clue who they are. I have read sentences about pop culture figures here and the only thing I understood were words like "the, and, and he".
Justin Thomas is a young PGA Tour superstar. Pretty much everyone likes the guy. He is buds with guys like Charles Barkley, Tiger, etc. He is not some PC idiot and actually has a personality.
BTW, Ralph Lauren is nothing. Most of those top PGA Tour guys are sponsored by investment banks and those types of business. Years ago they were mainly sponsored by golf equipment companies.

"Forever Changes" is an astonishing album that combines rock, psychedelic rock, folk, a touch of prog, and generally astonishing lyrics that all come together in 3 to 5 minute songs that are actually quite listenable. We had Trump signs everywhere in our State. When I traveled West of Harrisburg, all I saw were small businesses with HUGE signs stating TRUMP 2020,and below those words was this. NO MORE BULLSHIT.
Trump had the biggest rallies I have ever seen here.

Quietest plane I've ever been in? The Cessna, I made my first jump from, when the pilot cut the engine at 3,000 feet just before I pushed myself out the door. (It was a solo static line jump and after my chute deployed and I was hanging suspended from the sky in disbelief of reality, I looked around, looked down, and noticed how freaking quiet it was. I think I was afraid to talk to myself in order not to disturb the god of anti-gravity.)

I can't say I am depressed nor am I thrilled that war is upon us. I just feel... resolute, I guess. I am terribly worried about family in NJ who have no weapons. Given NJ gun laws, it would likely be months before they could get the paperwork through the police processes to even buy a shotgun.

We went out to eat last night at a small pizza spot, with wood-fired oven. Their appetizers and pizza are sp good...
Anyway, walking in the small "downtown" area we discovered a fine restaurant - one of our favorites - was completely gone. Empty. With trepidation after dinner we drove the couple of blocks to another favorite, a Portuguese restaurant. It was still there, and had a "we're hiring" sign in the window. So that was nice. Two out of our three are still there.

yep, that is a good description of it. Then add holding your rucksack, and weapon. We had to strap that belt through the ruck suspenders, which made it seem even less safe to me.
And then when you get in a blackhawk, the difference is so stark. Those UH1's were not very fast, particularly on turns.

Being a grunt we always got a safety briefing from the crew chief prior to doing helo ops. Part of that briefing included how to fasten the seat belt at which time we all busted out laughing. You see when a grunt is fully loaded with all his battle rattle your butt is barely on the seat and that seat belt damn sure ain't long enough to go around you.

It'll be a millimeter by millimeter close inspection, and way over the top preventative service campaign. Gonna change the fork oil, repack the steering head and swingarm bearings, new final drive oil, purge all the old brake fluid and replace with new, and etc. Bike is 38 years old. My job will be to make it as new as it can be.

I was able to find a dealership near Ann Arbor who worked with me, and got a surplus Harley galvanized shipping skid for only $50. (H.D. dealers have to put a $500 deposit on those and return 'em to the factory.) Then, I got the shipper lined up, and that's where the delay occurred. He missed a pickup time window at the shipping dealer, and had to wait till he was in Michigan again. Good news? Dealer forklift loaded the bike strapped to the pallet in the enclosed box truck, and sent it on it's way. 850 lb. load, MI to near Galveston. $450, total. Receiving dealer forklifted it outta the truck, and has it waiting on me. But I'll be elsewhere tomorrow, and can't change plans.

When I was about 11, dad wanted a trail bike, and was looking at the Honda 55. I convinced him the Honda 90 was the way to go.
He pulled the yellow Honda 90 out of the back of his pickup and rolled it down a ramp. Checked the oil and fluids, and then fired it up and drove it up and down the gravel driveway of about 3 acres. Then he told me to hop on and give it a try.
Never having been on anything motorized, I pulled the throttle back, kinda panicked and drove it right into the neighbor's old wooden fence. It shattered and I kept going another 50 feet or so until I figured out to turn the throttle down.
But hey, no damage to the bike or me. And the neighbor, an old retired guy with his wife, just laughed like hell as he was watching.
I did have to pay for the materials to fix the fence, though.

Am I the crazy one here? Why would anyone trust MeAgain, or anyone that is assisting in her "conservative" rehabilitation (fuck you, Ben Shapiro). Amazing how our 31 yr old furnace had a 20 yr warranty. All the new ones are 10. But it's quieter and seems to heat our old inefficient house more evenly. And thankfully it wasn't sub zero yet. Only ever got down to 52 in the house.
