The Morning Report - 12/31/20 [J.J. Sefton]

betterangels.jpg

Good morning, kids. Thursday and New Year's Eve. Normally this is a time of promise for new beginnings and hope, but given what we've been through and what we've experienced, I'm dreading what lies ahead. It's hard to believe that less than a year ago, our economy was booming, China, Iran and their surrogates in this country, the Democrat Party were either on the ropes or reeling, as President Trump was well on the way to a massive re-election victory. If I've learned anything over the past four years is that given the evil that exists in this world, nothing is ever safe, certain or secure, not only on a cosmological level but for sure on a political level. With a nod to Sinclair Lewis, it certainly can happen here because starting in 2020 it did happen here.

Despite the cover of a manufactured phony health crisis to subvert an already compromised electoral process, President Donald J. Trump was well on his way to beating even that massive cheat and securing at least a 400-electoral vote and popular vote landslide. That is, until a water pipe in Atlanta caused an in-your-face deluge -- of fake ballots dumped in four major metropolitan areas across six states, drowning not just the real votes, but the Constitution with it.

I didn't think the nation could have sunk any lower than the attempt to overthrow the 2016 election via the Russia collusion hoax. The undeniable exposure of people entrusted with enforcing our laws and protecting our national security as cheap crooks, drunk on power and their own narcissistic delusions of elitism was shocking in the extreme. A lot of folks took that as a sign that Trump and the nation itself were in real danger. I made the mistake of thinking surviving it meant the firewalls were secure. I don't think I could have been more wrong about anything else in my life. I will not make that mistake again.

And yet, here I am once again talking about January 6th. Am I friggin' stupid or what?! I just wasted pixels as well as my time (hopefully not yours), burnishing my newly won credentials in the He-Man Hard-Bitten Cynics Club, and now I'm going to go on about the GOPers in Congress or VP Pence delivering us from Old Sparky with a last minute reprieve. We all know that whether fearing for their lives, or worse, as part of the institutional corruption that Donald J. Trump was elected - TWICE - to eradicate, the majority of Republicans at the local, state and federal level cannot or will not uphold their oaths to defend the Constitution.

But what sustains me is that in spite of all that, there are men and women who still have a conscience to do the moral, legal and righteous thing by saving the nation from being extinguished. So far it's Josh Hawley in the Senate as well as several Congressmen in the House. Rush Limbaugh discussed the nuts and bolts of the process last week and they are hyperlinked here if you're curious. Whether they ultimately succeed - please G-d - is neither the issue nor the reason for my hope. It's because, few in number though they may be, they are there. And while few in number on Capitol Hill, there are tens of millions of like-minded citizens just like them across the country. The last person that I ever expected to lead a movement with the goal of national revival was Donald Trump. The Enemy makes the fatal error of thinking that Trump was a one-off, or like Rush Limbaugh, Trump brainwashed "bitter-clinger" "deplorables" into voting for him. The truth which deep down the Enemy must know is that those two men, titans of communication and influence though they may be only reflect the mood of the people.

The brazenness that the Enemy shows in its actions against the American people is in direct proportion with which the American people have rejected and continue to reject them. And for the capital crime of rejecting them in 2016, we have been sentenced to death. With the bureaucracy, the courts, the media and the schools arrayed against us, our only way of fighting back was every two to four years was at the ballot box. As of eight weeks ago, that is now gone forever, so forget 2022 or 2024 and quite probably beyond that. Whether Trump remains or is forced out, we are still here.

If you thought 2020 was bad, you ain't seen nothing yet. Things are going to get a lot worse, and it's going to get personal. But where there is life, there is hope. Don't vest all your trust in one man, be it Trump, Rush or whoever. First and foremost, you have to put your trust in yourself. Man up, woman up. We all have responsibilities that keep us occupied with putting food on the table and a roof over the heads of our loved ones. But what is all of that worth if the freedom to live your life as you see fit, or to try to make it better for your progeny, is denied you? A moment of truth is fast approaching. I can't tell you what to do because I myself don't know what to do. That's what's so frustrating and depressing.

One thing is clear. We cannot go on as before and while the Enemy has a stranglehold on us we certainly will not go on as before because things are going to be on their terms. But no one is infallible. Not even them. As we reflect back on this past year and the three prior to that, the verdict from my perspective is in: President Trump will go down as one of the greatest presidents in our history. In spite of all the political and social forces arrayed against him, he instituted the greatest economic boom in history, engineered major foreign policy triumphs by challenging geopolitical rivals and enemies and orchestrating Middle East peace deals thought impossible, and helped bring about vaccines against a Chinese engineered biological weapon at "warp speed," among other things.

But his greatest achievement is exposing the decades-long generational corruption of our government to a vast swathe of the populace, heretofore unaware or uncaring. To put an ironic twist on a disgusting threat from an equally disgusting woman who once was first lady, what President Trump revealed will never allow us to be able to go on with our lives as before. And ultimately, that is a good thing.

Before I go, I ask that you consider hitting Ace's tip jar as well as my own at CJN so we can keep the lights on at least until we get shipped off to the gulag. Many thanks for those of you who have done so. It is appreciated more than you know.

I wish with all my heart better days ahead for you and yours and a truly Happy New Year.

9 Just as a matter of armchair poly-sci... I have to imagine that the vast majority of Trump voters were not wishy-washy whatever votes. They were cast with a near revolutionary fervor, in protest against a system gone off the rails.

The vast majority of Biden voters, given the strength of the candidate and his many, many useless years in Washington and his no-platform non-campaign, must have been less enthusiastic.

In terms of "battlefield prep" for any coming Unpleasantness, the pro-Barbarian side is really starting off on the wrong foot there.

13 How can 2021 not be worse than 2020? Look at the trend lines. The Left has declared plenary war on America, with territorial gains on every front. They are suddenly going to retreat? Or, after 75 years of ineptitude in fighting the Left or slowing their infiltration of every institution in America, our side is suddenly going to hit upon the solution or the will to execute it?

To me, the key point came late in that. Which is that these guys are NOT where they are by winning in the free market. Sure, at the start, they did so (in so far as the market was free, which is rather limited).

But once they got rich, it's been government favoritism that was key. As the author points out, the model of Randian competition doesn't apply.

But try to get the average libertarian to see that.

--

The one thing I hold onto is that they have decidedly not gained at the ballot box. Yeah, yeah. But let's step back from the fraud, the brazen cheating, the obviously stolen election(s). Donald Trump overwhelmingly won 2020. The media lost. The Democrats lost, across the board elections as well. Hollywood lost. They were not able to bamboozle the people. The people are not trusting or believing them. Yes, it remains to be seen what kind of uprising will occur if the Fraudulent Turnip is installed. But I believe if he is, and his agenda comes to pass, there will be major moves to untether from the illegitimate US federal govt. JMHO.

Sadly, though, that's a technicality that doesn't matter.

If the traitors aren't hanged and assets seized, I don't see any hope at the federal level. Votes literally don't matter, and they'll matter even less when there are 40M new Illegal American voters.

I think state and local will become more and more important, with county-level politics being the most important. Look around to counites where the sheriff said "I'm not enforcing this mask bullsh*t. We've got actual crimes we're worried about." That's probably where you want to live in the next few years.

There were so many quotes by Pulitzer....crushing the engineer over his "opinion" and not "scientific fact" and then continuing to mock him to his face for being an engineer was great. Every question asked by the committee seemed to be more about what they knew and how smart they were, versus trying to figure out what the witness was showing them.

66 Let's just make it easy. If a "policy" would harm normal Americans in some way, the Crimmicrats are all for it. It's really amazing when you think about it.

Technically, that would be any time the government intervenes outside of the duty to combat fraud and adjudicate disagreements.

Even in prostitution which harms those who are involved. The government intervenes in any way, and the next thing you know they are picking my pocket to spend on NGOs or other groups who "aid" the prostitutes who still are engaged in the trade.

It was exactly what I meant. My main point is that, overall, Americans aren't asleep at the wheel any longer. Hence Trump's landslide 8 weeks ago. We are not going to be herded into a Biden Communist Wet Dream 'Dark Winter' and just look away at our freedoms being stripped and the Constitution being completely ignored. I just don't believe it. Not with what we saw on election day. The real results. There's hope in those numbers. Pessimistic by nature as I am, I see it.

68 Yesterday's daily reading:

John 2:12-17
Do not love the world or the things of the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world,
sensual lust, enticement for the eyes, and a pretentious life,
is not from the Father but is from the world.
Yet the world and its enticement are passing away.
But whoever does the will of God remains forever.

90 A Legitimacy Crisis of the Left's Own Making
_________

That was better than I expected. I knew it'd be on my side, but the author does zero in on the primary problems:

1. The fact that the loss of confidence predates Trump (about which the media and pols are in denial), and, worse,

2. That they simply refuse to even consider the question of whether they are worthy of trust.

The latter is the bottom line. We seem to have reached peak irrationality in that the very technique of rational argument has been forgotten. I see this on even philosophical sites, and it's dismaying.

Reason is, ultimately, the only shared faculty we have. Throw it out, and it's all about whose will triumphs. That is a nasty prospect.

It ain't coming back. And honestly - I don't think it should. At least not as currently formed - and probably not as it's been since at least prior to the Civil War.
We don't have anything like a Republic - and have not for over a century. What we've got is an extremely powerful centralized government, with day to day administration delegated under very strict guidelines to these quaint entities that we call "states". But make no mistake - just about every aspect of our daily lives is regulated, in some form or fashion, by the central government. And that government, in turn, is administered by two political parties firmly united in maintaining their own control while preventing any third party or outside interference in their domination.
Why would we want that back ?

Do they put this feature on a brochure when marketing this to election committees?

Repeat for a week. Compare the sigs on the seven sheets and you may see
some big differences.

I don't believe that's necessarily true. Trump could invoke the Insurrection Act for the purposes of seizing all election-related data and a legally supervised audit. At the same time he could commandeer the network airwaves for a national address. It would be a decision based on an exigent reality of confirmed subversion of election process threatening the viability of the Republic and with all other options exhausted or corrupted.

As I see it, if you recognize the crisis, and the unavailability of the system to address it, than duty and oath compels you to invoke the Act.

How many times does the GOP have to show you that they will simply roll over and lose elections before they ever cede control of their own party ? We sent a Tea Party wave. The GOP co-opted those that it could, denied any kind of advancement to those they couldn't, and used process to deny candidacy to anyone that wouldn't play ball after that. We sent Trump. So they threw the House in 2018, then watched silently while the election was stolen in 2020.

To "take over" the GOP - you'd have to simultaneously elect a President, over half of the House Republicans, and somehow engineer a Senate majority of your own people as well when only 1/3 of that body is elected at one time. We are NOT taking over the GOP.

To "take over" the GOP - you'd have to simultaneously elect a President, over half of the House Republicans, and somehow engineer a Senate majority of your own people as well when only 1/3 of that body is elected at one time. We are NOT taking over the GOP.

This is beautifully written, JJ. Thanks to you and ace for what you do, and, yes, I'll hit it (the tip jar, cheeky monkey).

You have to acknowledge you have a problem before you tackle it, to paraphrase the recovery folks. This is the first year in our lifetimes when most Americans realize things will be worse for the New Year. For the most part we are post-electoral politics. We must learn how to make lives as miserable as possible for those who oppress us. Given their pampered, worthless existences, this may not be as difficult as it seems at first blush. It has to be the primary objective, and we do so with the realization these people are just as evil and entrenched as the Soviets, Nazis, and the other vanquished.

Weep not for America.

Of all the things our beloved president did, the one with which I most disagreed was rebuilding the military. It was obvious our oppressors rule us with an iron fist now and have moved people into leadership who would not hesitate to emulate China and gun down citizens. This was confirmed when the brass opposed invocation of the insurrection act during one of the darkest hours this nation has faced. Hollow out the military and reduce the power of those who want us dead. Our enemy is within these borders and behind the levers of power. Deny him a ready hit squad.

I spend the better part of my mornings reading his links and most of the comments following his Morning Report. Besides, he's a fellow model railroader, so that's a big plus as well! Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year, J.J. Hoping we can look forward to better days ahead.

336 War with another major power can easily be lost in a short period of
time. A strong military is always a dangerous animal, prone to misuse
but a weak or even undermanned military is a foolish risk in todays
world. We live in a world of professional soldiers today.----------------------------------I don't want a weak military, just a smaller one. Namely one with less officers and less men. I'm in favor of a strong Navy, Nukes, elite forces, and other strategic assets.

Who are we going to war with today ? China ? We have no business putting boots on the ground in Asia - and they lack the ability to project power here - even if given friendly basing in a place Central America. Russia ? If we haven't learned our lesson fighting in Europe on behalf of the Europeans by now, we never will. And besides, they had enough problems in Crimea. Canada and Mexico ? I highly doubt we need twelve standing divisions to protect ourselves from them.

Like I said - the Founders were clear. Large standing armies aren't needed when you mind your own business.

339 "I have several customers that want to pay for new equipment this year even if I can't deliver until February at best."

from what I read, I'd guess they are supposed to place the equipment "in service" by the end of year to deduct it. (I think that is what Turbo Tax asks me). But IRS won't be following them around to check I guess.

340 Electrical and power installations are essentially wide open and undefended across the country. No need for such, in a civil orderly country.

341 > Pakis being taught how to properly bang a transgender woman is tots worth it!!

But wait, there's more: it looks like Cocaine Bitch has decided he wants to lose Georgia by procedurally killing Trump's $2,000 proposal, thereby giving the Dems control of both houses of Congress and the Presidency. As far as the third branch goes, expect there to be 20 or 30 Supreme Court justices by the end of Dopey Joe and the Ho's first term.

Buckle up. We're in for a bumpy ride.

344 Yes, it's who they are. But even when we win
(Franken lost), we back down for the "good of the country, to keep the
peace". Well the peace comes with too high a price, this time. The
people who cry about riots are as bad as the rioters if they hand
everything to the donks.

The GOP "leadership" backs down because they are craven cowards and sell outs. It's long past time to kick all of them to the curb. Unfortunately too many people just vote for the name they recognize and we get stuck with the same sellouts year after year

Gone are the days of calling up the citizenry, handing them a weapon and throwing them on the front lines. Sitting in fortress USA with our finger on the button seems like a return to the days of my youth. I will agree with less officers. The military leadership needs a good thorough purge.

Conservative Treehouse very recently had an article that posited that Mitch sees more money in selling his minority votes to Schumer--assuming the fillibuster money making machine holds--to get past filibusters than being in the majority and having to do ANYthing beyond selling America to China and Schumer.
Strictly a money deal to Mitch.

This isn't the DOJ admitting fraud, sadly.
