Nearly half of Black small businesses had been wiped out by the end of April as the pandemic ravaged minority communities disproportionately, according to a report from the New York Fed. Black-owned businesses were more than twice as likely to shutter as their white counterparts, the report found. "Nationally representative data on small businesses indicate that the number of active business owners fell by 22% from February to April 2020—the largest drop on record," the report said. "Black businesses experienced the most acute decline, with a 41% drop. Under that assumption, should lockdowns continue? Even if they are effective, should we be pursuing that policy?
My answer to that is "no" and quite firmly so. Even if they do work, we now know enough about the 'Rona and who is susceptible to very bad outcomes (e.g., death or disability) and therapeutic regimens that this particular cure is - in my estimation - emphatically worse than the disease.

We should never assume ... you know the rule.
It does not matter. We have the God-given right to make a living, to walk freely, to not cover my face. And if we are going to enact such draconian rules, we should do so via properly enabled law, not emergency orders that last months on end. Supposedly, there is a supreme law of the land that protects such rights - something about a 9th Amendment and equal protection and substantive due process. Dare I say there are a penumbra of rights that would protect such God-given rights that we all took for granted a mere 10 months ago. While this is saddening, this is but the least of the damage we are inflicting on the young. Infants through grade school learn to watch facial expressions as part of communicating. Now all they see are masks.
Too many of our gradeschoolers are floundering in this learn-at-home environment. We can only hope that more parents go to the reported "pod" model and permanently leave the public school system. But the social skills are going to suffer greatly - especially for teens.I fear for our young, I really do.

While this is saddening, this is but the least of the damage we are inflicting on the young. Infants through grade school learn to watch facial expressions as part of communicating. Now all they see are masks.
Too many of our gradeschoolers are floundering in this learn-at-home environment. We can only hope that more parents go to the reported "pod" model and permanently leave the public school system. But the social skills are going to suffer greatly - especially for teens.I fear for our young, I really do.

I won't dispute there are interested parties.. there is much money to be made in that industry.
I'll say the lock on % of minority especially black vote is more about keeping the cheat going than an actual number. This is my opinion/theory but folks are reluctant to look at they black districts for fraud because of the backlash... but in order to keep people quiet they 95% Dem numbers need to continue. If they were to get in the 70-30 range then having 0 Rep vote districts with 90% turnout might get a second look. That's also a reason everyone is crying about looking at Detriot, and doxing and threatening to murder families... this is a danger to the grift.

The oldest is having a tough time because he's very social and he liked to go out to public events, sports, orchestra etc.

1) Do identity verification. No more aliases to get the card. This would knock out some percentage of members, and you know who the rest are.
2) If you engage in thoughtcrime or speechcrime, you're kicked out of the club.
3) Once you're kicked out of one club, a shared blacklist removes you from the rest.
That's it. No heavy-handed social credit scheme that would piss a lot of people off. Just make the cost of living for thoughtcriminals 5%-10% higher by excluding them from discount schemes. That is greater than or equal to most people's elbow room. What this will do is keep the person poor and stationary and bound to where they are and unable to afford to cause any trouble. Just make their lives a bit more expensive, while their neighbors who all comply and engage in goodthink get to bank those savings.
It's how I'd do it, if I wanted to try it in this country.

I'd bet 95% of the state legislators in question literally didn't even know they had a potential role in presidential elections under the constitutional design.
Lessee now, setting aside the new law of the universe that 100% of All Election Results Are Rigged, since that makes the very existence of these GOP legislatures (and governors) a paradox that breaks our brains, this means that GOP voters in these states are quite content with this situation. Why, it's almost as if the national decline is, in fact, a national decline.

I've been rereading the history of the government's abuses of Mormons, during the time between the trek out West and Utah statehood, when they tried to punish them politically for polygamy. Took away women's rights to vote, denied trial by jury for those accused of bigamy, denied juries to have Mormons on them, government confiscated all their property above a certain dollar amount, like their temples and churches, and forced them to pay rent for their own property. And most timely, vindictive judges assigned to the territory to wreak havoc on purpose, judges prejudged the case before it even came to them.
Is it weird that reading about past corruptions of justice brought me comfort? We have had grave miscarriages of justice before, we are now, we will again. If we are lucky, God in his mercy will be there to help us through it.

I've theorized form the beginning many people are bored by their daily routine and want to be part of some big, epic event and a truly dangerous plague like one of those movie where we are all in danger, bodies stacked like cord wood, panic in the streets, national emergency and real bravery and heroes . Hope is something you give a group that's actually doing something productive to win, even against long odds and even while they're losing. You lie if necessary to create that hope out of thin air. You don't pump hope into a room of people sitting on their asses while the walls are closing in. You take their hope away, to allow them to see those walls and with any luck get pissed off about it.

I'd revise that to read "no amount of fraud justified overturning an election that has been declared over by the media."
If a Democrat was alleging fraud of this magnitude, there is no way any of the networks would have called the disputed states for the Republican until it was settled in the courts. Thus, there would be nothing overturned for people to get upset over.

I was thinking about this today. I think people are addicted to the facebook "like" and do not want to do anything seen as nonconformist, because others will not "like" them. They are afraid of being stigmatized and... "just want to get along." So they go along with stupid ideas so everyone still likes them.

I know. I had to go into a Biohazard Level III lab for my job. It was a full suit, foot bath before and after entrance, etc. This mask thing doesn't meet the criteria.
