I think a lot of the governors, like my very own Illinois Lord Jumbo, are keeping the boot on our necks until they know they've got Joe behind the wheel and he can okay the bajillion dollars from the feds that states. like Illinois, need to "balance" their budgets.
That's one of the reasons the Lord Jumbo has not been too quick on cutting any budgets items.

With my conversations with people who are long term veterans in the business, the staffing, both skills and ratios differs based on what the patient needs are.
While the traditional patient / staff ratio holds for all of the established loads, it has been variable for the CoViD.
The biggest problem is turnover rate. CoViD is burning up a lot of time.
On a more positive note, while distancing and masks are the most worthless forms of NPI and that appears to be the singular focus of government and every entity that is being bought off by them, it seems at the street level there is a huge uptick in the behaviors that do matter.
People are eating healthier, empirically there are far more people running / jogging / just out walking; it is still near impossible to get kettlebells, bicycles and other items that substitute for gym memberships.
So getting natural vitamin D, increasing one's metabolic health, decreasing their waistline - all of those things that do materially ward off CoViD's worst effects are being deployed by the people who government thinks are too stupid to help themselves.

This has actually been attempted before, resulting in utter failure.
However!
This time might be different, this time, we are seeing in real-time, one party conspiring with another party to defeat a Presidential candidate.
That, I don't believe, we have ever seen before.
That could be galvanizing or not.

A couple of books: "A View From The Bottom" and "Our Culture, What is Left of It" can be highly depressing books.
They are compilations of articles written MUCH earlier. In AVFTB, many date prior to 2000. It is those articles that are ironically encouraging.
His role in dealing with this earth's bottom feeders, is going to make it look like this is the norm. In one chapter he briefly mentions an unmarried couple who for unclear reasons decided to take their child by the ankles and swing him head first into the wall killing the child. This is typical of the people who he interacts with.
The "encouraging" part is that what we are seeing around us isn't new at all. If anything, 2020 has made the things around us more obvious, and these things have been going on since Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden.
I don't believe that he is a man of faith, if he is, it isn't apparent in his writings, but he does indeed strongly confirm the Calvinistic understanding of the depravity of man.
His books, to Americans, will appear prophetic because the UK has a bit of a head-start on the former United States in terms of spiritual and moral decline.
What would be a good primer to read before Dalrymple's books would be the second half of Romans 1, where Paul outlines what I call the Romans Road towards Reprobation.
This is man, in his natural element, and his worthless bureaucratic, apathetic, amoral government.

We talked about it a couple of years ago, but I've long believed that engineering principle where X% of the problems are caused by Y% of the parts is completely applicable to humanity as well.
There is 10% of the population that will call the cops for someone assaulting them one week, and two weeks later those same people are the ones assaulting someone else. There are outliers, sure, but I'm comfortable stating that the dregs of society comprise at least one party involved in 90% of all 911 calls.

I have, right before me, several Computer Aided Dispatch systems used by major metropolitan areas. I can see exactly the calls coming in, where they are, how they are triaged and how they are being handled - all in real time.
While there is plenty of what you are posting, burglary, car theft, suspicious persons calls are still high on the roster of calls.

Skimming just 10% off one party and giving to the other would would seem reasonable at first glance... but would actually result in a 20% swing.... so maybe skin 5% across the board.

Same thing happened to me in May/June. Only symptom was the loss of sense of smell and taste. Doc told me to not bother getting tested, since the treatment would be the same regardless of cause. Tested positive twice about a month, month and a half later (needed a negative test to schedule a medical procedure, which was held up around 4 months due to said positive tests).

There's reporting about how anyone who dies with a positive Covid test is treated as a Covid death, despite other causes. Hospitals get paid more for handling a Covid death. No other country does this. Obviously, this inflates Covid death totals, and means that reported Covid deaths won't come down.
There's a Johns Hopkins study that Covid is accelerating the deaths of the very old and the very sick, but these reported deaths are mirrored by a decline in other causes of reported death. It's only a timing difference, you see, typically only of a few months.
I'm not suggesting this is a good thing, but Covid isn't the Black Plague but we act like it is. And we've convinced people that getting Covid is a death sentence.
I tripped over this. The Bronx has had 4,100 Covid deaths, but zero last month.
Way back, I did rough math that with 200k deaths, each with a loss of 20 years of life, Covid would reduce our average life expectancy by 10 days. Turns out 20 years is way high, and the actual figure much less.
This is madness, no?

So it's not really some mysterious loss of smell and taste, it's the effects of having cold like symptoms with a stopped up nose, which obviously accounts for the smell portion and scent actually accounts for 80% of what we taste.
I think anytime you have a cold/flu with nasal congestion everything is going to taste dull and flat.

Because so many place are using the contact-less thermometer prior to entry, I thought I would go pick one up and make fun of it.
Yep, it too is worthless in terms of how they are using it.
Over a period of weeks, several times a day, I would go measure temperature, and it is all over the place. If I go stand around in the cold, then walk in take a temperature, wait a minute or five then take it again, I can get several degree differences. In one case, the temperature wouldn't register because it thought I was dead. If I go do a very heavy 12-14 rounds of heavy bag where I stay in the "red" range at least eight of those rounds, then measure, it might be a half a degree higher, even though I am sweaty hot and need to stand in the freezer to cool down.
What little use it does have is to establish a dope chart of where the temperatures usually cluster given the environment. If the temperature goes up uncharacteristically of the clustering, then break out the oral thermometer to get a real reading.
What they are using in business entrances is just more theater.

Same thing happened to me in November 2019. Sinus infection and bronchitis is what my Doctor said I had. Treated me with anti antibiotics and it took months for it to finally go away.
No sense of taste and short of breath for nearly a month never had a fever.
Now I read a study of the blood supply that says the covid was running around the US in September 2019.

He's biochemist and toxicologist that takes a really rational look at it all.
One of the things he says is contributing to death count is a "dry timber" theory in certain nations.
Essentially the theory notes that in certain countries that had particularly mild flu seasons in the previous years, that the death toll is exaggerated this year because more people that are in deteriorated states of health survived a flu season that would ordinarily wipe them out.
But in countries that had harsh flu seasons last year, the death tolls are lower during COVID.
It's an interesting watch altogether and covers much more than just that.

Interesting perspective, as it matches my own. Many state have moved to restore the voting rights of convicted felons, as long as they have completed all terms of their sentence (some require much less, like Vermont, where in prison inmates can still vote).
What's important here is the concept that citizens, regardless of their current conviction status, still deserve Constitutional protections of their inherent rights.
And if your right to vote is protected, so is your right to self defense.

I would bet you that hardly anyone in the country knows this... that unemployment is down 8 points since April and now sits at 6.7%. Because the media does not report it.
But as soon as Biden-Harris are in office, they are going to report the 1-year difference in Unemployment of April 2021 compared to April 2020 and give all credit to Biden-Harris.
ITEM 2: Unemployment fell to 6.7% in November -- down a record 8.0 points since April as President Trump's economic policies save the nation from the RINOs and Democrats who shut down the nation in an overblown pandemic.
President Trump should call off the national health emergency.
Congress should investigate Johns Hopkins and the CDC for gaming the statistics to inflate the numbers.
By the way, it took Obama 5 years to bring unemployment down from 7.9% to 6.7%. Communists are bad for the economy.

First, how long should Alito given PA to respond. Couple of hours? What would their response be? Do you even know what the parameters of PA's response are? I doubt they get to do what we in CA state court call a "general denial". So if you have hundreds of paragraphs of detailed allegations, it's going to take days, not hours, to draft a proper response.
As for leftist judges ruling "bupkis!", do you really want them to have detailed, evidentiary hearings, probably over several days? So let's say a leftist judge has a come-to-Jesus moment and stops the steal. What a victory that is that gets put on hold pending appellate review. Oh, look at that, it's January 19. Yeah buddy!

Yes. And there's a lot of state law on the books about that state's process. Gov and election officials can't change that process. And SCOTUS can step in if process isn't being applied even handedly, even if the effect of a SCOTUS ruling is to pick the President (Gore v Bush).
Which means this isn't over yet.
It's too late to win in courts over fraud claims. We can win on process claims.

Too be honest, if they served their sentence (too include parole and fines), their rights should be restored. If they are still deemed dangerous they should be in the big house.
If a sentence involves loss of rights beyond freedom to move about (jail / prison) then it should be explicitly part of the sentence.
