Fox News' Daytime Ratings Fall 32%
From the Washington Times, on last Tuesday, the 24th:
Fox's daytime viewership dropped 32 percent from the two weeks prior to Election Day to the two weeks after, the Nielsen company said. The post-election, weekday average daytime viewership of 1.63 million was roughly equivalent to that of CNN (1.68 million) and MSNBC (1.71 million). CNN was up 33% and MSNBC up 9% during that time period, Nielsen said. It's not unusual for a cable news network popular with fans of a certain candidate to see its audience to drop off when that candidate loses; MSNBC's ratings briefly collapsed four years ago when Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton. The difference here is that Trump has been actively encouraging his followers to abandon Fox and hasn't actually conceded. Newsmax, the conservative network that Trump has been touting, saw its daytime average viewership jump from 88,000 the two weeks prior to the election to 474,000 the two weeks after, Nielsen said.That ratings gain by Newsmax is a bit less than the ratings lost by Fox. So conservatives are still engaged with the news -- they're just disengaging from Fox. Meanwhile, a repost. I posted this on Thanksgiving. Some might have missed it. Fox News is now threatening guests who appear on Newsmax, telling them they won't be invited on Fox. They're also branding their own viewers, and former viewers, "fringe," "far right," and "radicalized."

Producers on some Fox programs have been told to monitor Newsmax's guest bookings and throw some sand in Newsmax's gears by encouraging guests who appear on both channels to stop saying yes to the upstart. According to Fox sources, producers were told to avoid some regular guests if they kept showing up on Newsmax after being encouraged to stop. Management's goal: to remind guests who's boss in the right-wing media world.Fox News denies this. But they're lying. Memo to Fox: When you threaten people, they tend to talk about it. To everyone.

The staffers also said that the competitive dynamic is having an impact on some of Fox's programming choices. ... Sources at Fox derided Newsmax as "far-right" and "fringe" and they singled out Kelly for particular criticism. But there has been a noticeable shift in the way they talk about Newsmax.
Conservatives who attempt to delegitimize other conservatives as "far right" and "fringe" are not conservatives. They are liberals.

They're airing Tucker Carlson tips during the day to Con the Rubes so that neoliberals and plain old liberals Paul Ryan, Chris Wallace, Chris Stirewalt, and Bill Sammon can keep their jobs. By the way, the Fox staffers who talked to Tater savaged Maria Bartiromo as a lunatic conspiracy theorists. They hate you just as much.
Multiple staffers pointed to programming adjustments, like the airing of Mark Levin's right-wing talk show on both Saturday and Sunday nights, that are meant to appeal to the Fox base. Levin's show used to air just on Sundays. Last Saturday, however, Fox aired a six-day-old episode of the show, full of out-of-date claims about Trump's legal challenges. The staffers said the frequent re-airing of clips from "Tucker Carlson Tonight" during the day was another noticeable attempt to appease viewers.

So, the questions now are how do we save what we have? What do we want
to work for? (That means pitching the Left's morality and starting
fresh) How do we achieve it. Tactically dramatic displays, like the
Japanese found out, are worthless and counterproductive.

Beat the absolute crap out of mostly one or two stories a day, superficially, for hours on end as each host (or panel) repeats what has been covered repeatedly. Insert enough promos, commercials, and "breaking" chyrons with musical accompaniment (for Pavlovian response) to pitch "new" material while cutting off each and every "guest" because they simply don't have enough time... ever.
It is one of the most over-produced networks on the planet that almost never goes deeply into a subject and brings experts to discuss solutions. It's emotional chatter to elevate viewer blood pressure and keep it animated. It was a good formula for a while because at least it had the courage to say the words "conservative", "Republican", and "Christian". But it's simply not enough when the rhetoric is, it appears, mostly used as a marketing plan and pretty insincere.
Imagine. It took FOXNews to drive me away from the news. I tolerated it for over a decade but their egregious political shenanigans over the Trump administration pushed me over the edge. I'd have bet SMOD would've hit us before that happened.

I had a sharp lesson in this last year. I listened to an hour long interview between Candace Owens and Larry Elder. That same day, the TV was on (Fox, was kinda paying attention to Tucker) when Hannity came on with Elder as a guest. I stuck around. They gave Elder like three minutes and he could barely make a complete point.
Why bother with watching a couple of minutes of someone with something to say, when you can probably find at least one (and usually multiple) long-form interviews on demand, with interviewers who usually let the guest talk? It was night-and-day.

That WAS the case, yes. However, the government, for some reason, put a deadline on when you could file at mid November.

I had a history teacher who was sharp as a tack when it came to crap like this. He basically said the most useless job in politics is VP. He said thats where you put people who you want out of the picture, basically the most expendable. He went to tell about how teddy roosevelt was picked to be VP to get him out of the way, because his anti corruption crusade was interfering in people's "business", so they stuck him in the VP slot where he would be neutered. Of course they didn't quite plan on the president getting assassinated which moved ol' teddy to the president slot. At any rate, I always remembered the part about the VP being somewhat useless, or in his words, the most lonely man in politics. Kneepads is definitely the most expendable of all the power players on the left. I wouldn't put it past the left to remove her first.

Tore computer system down, and used compressed air to blow dust out of printer, tower, keyboard, speakers, and monitor. Set computer back up, and tidied cables and clipped/taped them to rear framework of computer desk so they don't drag on floor.
Washed one concrete block wall; mortar joints loaded with dust.
Vacuumed and mopped half of bedroom floor. Next job: shift some furniture, and mop more.

You can watch YT vids on something like Brave and not monetize them. If you want, there's even commercial free websites you can view them on that won't even let them know it's been viewed, so they don't get the view numbers. Names escape me for the moment.

Don't know if it was here (gubs) or elsewhere, a similar conversation was occuring. The discussion was that .mil went with gas operated, versus inertia operated, so that they could hang the kitchen sink on it, without sacrificing reliability. You have a bunch of stuff hanging off it?

I have a shell sidesaddle on the receiver. Y5/Confederate Fifth said it might be the culprit. Yet....I had this side saddle on it all along and it functioned fine last time I took to the range (probably 2+ years ago)

Easy for me. I gave Trump a pass on the (R) thing, because he wasn't really one of them, and it showed. And he did his best. I have no quarrel with how he comported himself... the (R) thing was what he had to do to get by, and he wasn't perfect, but he was damned good.
I haven't voted for any other GOP above the local level in the last three cycles. And I won't ever vote for *anyone* with the (R) label again.

I can do a detail clean, then try another woods walk. See if that matters. Though it would not make me super glad to find out that just sitting in a corner would make the gun non-functional.

I have to disagree. At some point when you know elections are so rigged that your vote truly does not count, voting just gives the totalitarians cover. Why do you think totalitarian government uniformly have compulsory voting? Because if they didn't NO ONE would vote and their sham would be even more obvious.
As far as juries go, mention the words "jury nullification" in the hearing of a judge and you will be out of the courthouse before you can say Bob's your uncle.
