Time To Party Like It's 1773!
[Long Running Fool]

On December 16th, in honor of those Bostonians who dressed like Indians (and thus committed a terrible hate crime) who had the audacity to dump King George's tea into Boston Harbor rather than pay the King's tax, I will be holding a Mask-Burning Party, my place, at 6:30 PM PDT. If there are any morons/moronettes nearby (SE Washington State), drop me an email and I'll send directions.

The colonists protested taxation without representation and the suspension of their rights as British subjects.

Me, I'm not protesting a damn thing.

I AM asserting my rights as a free American citizen. I have the right to free speech and the right to peacefully assemble. These are not rights conferred by government, nor are they rights the government can revoke; they are granted to me by a power greater than the government. I intend to exercise my rights fully, despite the unconstitutional edicts of Governor Inslee.

I further assert that I have the right to pursue happiness - and the non-scientific twaddle about masks gives me the sads. So, I'm going to burn some of mine in my front yard. That will make me happier. I'm inviting friends, all three of them, neighbors, and random passers-by.

The only people not invited? Well, the petty tyrants, of course. And, those folks who are in the danger zone for the WuFlu - elderly, one foot on a banana peel, the other in the casket. We're Americans - we're capable of good judgment. (Most of the time and when it counts, that is.) This flu is dangerous to one group. Toast us from afar, please, and we'll return the compliment.

If you can't make it to my Mask-Burning Party, I understand. Wednesday nights are a tough party night, and I live in the middle of nowhere, the epitome of fly-over, drive-around, you can't get here territory. So, consider having party of your own. The Boston Tea Party wasn't the only event of its kind - there were similar splashes up and down the Eastern Seaboard. Go wild, have your own party, laugh at the progs, remind them of who and what you are .

Ornery. Independent. Americans.

******

Joining me? Holding your own party and want to swap pictures and video?

15 Appreciate the idea.

What we really need to do is coordinate millions of us to stop wearing the masks, open our businesses and get back to life.

If enough of us ignore their mandates, they can't enforce it. But if we do it onesy, twosy, we will be divided and they can bring the force of law down on the few.

Many means more of us have a chance.

I found an empty house in my neighborhood,

Called all my friends and slipped a hundred to the guard.
We turned on the radio and had a party on the patio.

Oh. That seems less gross. Like a public hot tub that you paid money to use, and presumably has people walking around making sure nothing untoward is happening?

There's a bar like that in NYC, it has a pool and hot tubs. You pay an entrance fee. Never been, but I mean -- not much different then being a member of a country club, right?

Posted by: Harry Paratestes at December 04, 2020 06:19 PM (UPoLF)

39 Let's be honest, the Revolution was won by a special few starry eyed dreamers and patriots with the stubbornness and fortitude to fight the world's most efficient military barefoot in the snow with dwindling ammo.

The majority of their colonial fellows were apathetic. Some were even sympathetic to the crown. Our founding fathers dragged their neighbors' lazy butts over the finish line and then handed them power to govern themselves (the ultimate payback). No wonder they wrote about the dangers of the "tyranny of the majority."

So yeah, I am all for partying like it's 1773.

What did our founders do in the face of a tyrannical and oppressive government? Did they privately grumble? No, on the contrary they publicly grumbled. And when they won Independence they enshrined in our Constitution the right to do what they did, because they knew the day may come when their new government would turn oppressive. They wanted to ensure the freedom and EASE for the people to meet and publicly rile each other up to action against THEM.

They were amazing, weren't they?

We owe it to them to do what they did.

They assembled. They debated. They riled each other up. And when the time came they dressed up like Elizabeth Warren and dumped tea into the harbor.

Today our government is acting like George III. It's time people respond accordingly...

Reading Jacques Barzun's tome "From Dawn to Decadence" has made me more philosophical and less depressed about the prospect though. Barzun was convinced that Western Civ took its' huge wrong turn with WWI and has been headed for the crash ever since. He said we are definitely in decadent times and the decadent period might go on a while before the crash, but he thought eventually there would be a renewal - if for no other reason but boredom. Social workers are ill equipped to deal with violent clients. My hospital even exempted them from the training in handling physical violence and only had them take verbal de-escalation training. All the medical/nursing/nursing assistants and techs had to spend plenty of time proving we could defend ourselves and restrain violent patients. This was a very stupid choice

148 There are three types of Republicans:

1. broken glass common man voters - we know who we are and how far we're willing to go

2. Trump supporters - guys like Newt, Hannity, Cotton, etc. These guys will say the right things, but they're still playing the "we gotta stop the radical agenda!" as though we haven't stepped over a red line already

3. the outright traitors - your Mitt Romney types, both in public (Mitt) and private (Mitch)

How many are in category 3? If you counted every single republican in the country that either didn't vote for Trump or who is ready to toss him to the wolves, you've got maybe a million.

How many in category 2? Let's peg the number at maybe 20 million. Maybe 30 million.

How many in category 3? The rest of us.

How many voted for Trump? 75 million maybe.

That's a lot of millions.

He's a member of the GoP tribe that's imploring the people that keep his tribe employed to keep doing that. Specifically, I think Newt said derogatory things about GA attorney Wood. He did that in response to Wood's statements concerning the Senate runoff and the lack of support Wood sees from GoP for Trump. It's what Newt would do. It was very predictable.

189 It's simple. RINOs cutting deals with Joe Biden is preferable to Democrats adding 2 states and packing SCOTUS. With those two things, and with President Biden/Harris using the FBI as a political weapon, how do we EVER win another election? They will make junk mail voting permanent, crack down on any Republican fraud, and let Dems go wild with fraud. This will make it impossible for us to win. They will go after DeSantis with BS investigations, anyone who tries to push for election integrity will be accused of "voter suppression," all voter integrity statutes (like Florida and Ohio have) will be tossed in the trash. It will be permanent Democrat rule AFTER A LANDSLIDE FOR TRUMP. If they take the senate, they win. We can't worry about whether GOP Senators are perfect enough. THIS IS NOT THE TIME for that. We are fighting for our SURVIVAL, for the SURVIVAL of democracy in America and therefore of freedom of speech and democracy around the world. If America falls, other countries will follow.

239 The founding documents only assign one DUTY to we the people. Looking at the rampant tyranny I fear it is time we execute that duty.

" But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--"

Big tech is silencing our voices, big media is lying to millions, our own party fights against us, every level of our government is corrupt, city, county, state and federal. Every bueaurocacy in the govt is corrupt.

It's time. I'm willing to pledge my life, fortune and sacred honor just as those brave patriots did before us. I understand fully what that means, I lived it for 20 years. I'm all in.

261 Speaking of Newt, here's my Callista Gingrich story.

Back in the late 80's early 90's I went to a fundraiser for my Rep. at the time, Steve Gunderson. They were both from a little town not to far from me, she was on his staff. Anyway at this party she was all over him and it was obvious to everyone she was angling to hook him. Me and this guy were chatting it up at the bar when Rep. Gunderson comes buy to shake hand and stuff, turns out the guy was his Dad. His Dad goes to him, "I think she's the only one here that doesn't know you're gay." Then Steve says to us, "She knows, it doesn't matter, she's trying to snag me or anyone else with power in D.C., she's a real piece of work and I pity the bastard she does end up with."

My Callista story.

ok, if true (always have to preface a comment this way these days with breaking news) then this could actually be a breakthrough, assuming Antrim county is one where they had the crooked machines.
