"And Now It Begins:" The UK's Final Subsumption Into The EU

Robert Conquest's Three Laws of Politics:

  • Everyone is conservative about what he knows best.
  • Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing.
  • The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies.

It is difficult to find a better explanation of the travails of so many purportedly "conservative" politicians. It describes President Trump almost perfectly. His natural conservative inclinations when it came to that which he knows are obvious, but when confronted by the unknown, he made the understandable (but in hindsight catastrophically incorrect) decision to rely on government experts to provide guidance. So a deep-state operative and careerist named Anthony Fauci was given control over the country that was disproportionate to his knowledge of the issue and skill at managing it. And of course he was working diligently to undermine the president's political prospects by confidently predicting the most dire outcomes if his draconian and destructive measures weren't implemented.

And the UK's effort to break away from the fascist control of the EU foundered on very similar rocks.

And Now 'Brino': Brexit In, Alas, Name Only

Then coronavirus struck Britain. Mr. Cummings, far from being a courageous voice of common sense, was instead credited with Mr. Johnson’s credulous concessions to a scientific community only too willing to assume responsibility for shuttering Britain’s economy.

Reports are that with Mr. Cummings’s departure go the “Vote Leave” coterie he brought with him into Downing Street. Their duties are to be assumed by allies of the prime minister’s left-liberal fiancée, Carrie Symonds, who has had tense relations with the tattered remnant of right-leaning policy wonks.

To Miss Symonds is accredited blame for Boris’s embrace of environmental extremism, such as the pledge to make Britain carbon neutral by 2050 — a recipe for reducing economic prosperity. As such, questions of climate and coronavirus only added insult to injury with the Government’s far-reaching interventionist agenda.

So the noble effort to free the people of a once great country from the clutches of European fascism has morphed into exactly that which it fought. Nanny-state control of every facet of life, down to how many people one can have at the dinner table and with whom one has intercourse. Add in the economy-killing insanity of Global-Warming extremism and it is hard to see a way out for the once free people of once Great Britain.

The lesson for our conservative leaders -- both current and future -- is clear: conservative philosophy does not stop where "experts" claim superiority. It should govern all issues, because it is a philosophy, not realpolitik.

Ronald Reagan was told by his experts that the Soviet Union was strong and growing stronger; that any attempt to beat them into submission by outspending and outbuilding and out-technologizing them was doomed to fail.

How did that work out for the Soviets?

President Trump was told by his experts that the Middle East was an intractable problem with the Palestinians in the middle of it that required billions of dollars and thousands of American lives to solve.

How did that work out for the P[p]alestinians?*

Conservative principles are not merely economic or social; they are a way to navigate human existence within a powerful framework that maximizes both human potential and human freedom. The only downside, if one could call it that, is the non-negotiable demand of conservatism that we be responsible for ourselves.

That's not too tough! I think....

So far, to me, the fact that corrupted Dominion was used in any state
indicates our DeepState intel agencies are not incompetent, they are
complicit. (criminal coup)

The Globalist Agenda is a real thing ... Atlantic
Council, BIS, IMF ... trillions being tossed around. Then Fauci gets
placed to run the "Plandemic" ... (at least the shutdown response seems
clearly aimed at hurting Trump). The hand in glove ops between Media and
DeepState leakers ... all that is complicit action by our insiders and
department heads ... aimed at removing Trump.

The four year
coup ... not incompetence ... Enemy Action. Still Ongoing ... we play
catch up trying to find out who runs Dominion (oh, Antifa guy and
various corrupt Dems, what a surprise). Can we stop the Coup is still
the question ... along with why did Trump keep hiring DeepStaters?
(Jarvanka influence? or just pervasive corruption at all levels?)

It's normal to believe that the enemy has it's act completely together, they are almost invulnerable, the people in charge are completely in charge, there's no disorganization in the ranks, everyone is on the same page, resources are not a problem for them, etc...

Basically, every weakness we see in our group, doesn't affect the enemy.

I see the last year, the lockdowns, the destruction of economies, the comic-book villain censorship of all opposing thought and all their other actions as signs of fear. The world is financially bankrupt. Printed paper money is being churned out like toilet paper.

I believe you're right. In thinking about the UK, I was realizing that even if they were to sign back up with the EU, it wouldn't do anything. France, Germany, Spain, Italy, all the supposed economic powerhouses of the EU are collapsing economically because of their insane Covid responses. I like to look for historical analogies, but I can't think of a single instance of an entire culture committing economic suicide because of a fantasy/hoax. Sure, they're gaining government control, but they had it already! What more are they getting? Their countries are dying, they're going to be left ruling nothing. Control of the military? Look at Germany, France, Spain, Italy - what military do they even have left? Nothing but a paper thin parade ground force.

Catastrophically incorrect, but politically wise, indeed, politically ineluctable decision to rely on government experts to provide guidance.

At the time no one - NO ONE - knew exactly what we were up against. If Trump had gone against the "experts'" advice, he'd have been giving hostages to fortune, bigly, if the Chinese virus had turned out to be really bad. The Democrats, with their communist fetishization of experts, were probably hoping for events to unfold in exactly that fashion.

I agree with this. The previous nasty flus were coming from China also. Oddly enough, I was saying back in March that the total American death toll would be about 2 million, which no flu since 1918 has even approached the same order of magnitude. Let's see, if 10% is 200K, 100% is ...

68 The problem is that the left-wing rot goes to the core of all of the important institutions they control with an iron fist.

Even if Trump doubled down and told Fauci to pound sand back in March, the pro-virus slant of the medical profession would have been ratcheted up to an even greater extreme than it is now.

Do you think that the false positive rate of the covid test is way too high now? Imagine what it would be if Trump came out against lockdowns. Do you think states wouldn't be even more liberal in tallying covid deaths? While we are looking at the vastly inflated number of 200K deaths (in reality, it is more like 10-20K), the medical profession would have made sure to get that total as close to Fauci's 2 million deaths as possible. Do you think mask wearing outside is oppressive? They would have made air-sealed hazmat helmets and earplugs manditory this summer.

That's right, if Trump didn't acquiesce to Fauci, the rest of the doctors and medical industry in this country would have made every covid test come back positive, would have declared that 2 million died this year from covid, and states would have literally locked people in their homes like China. Doctors in this country rooted for the virus, and had no compunction lying and falsifying data, even if it universally hurt patients, as long as it hurt Trump (ironically, it didn't, as they still needed to stop vote counting and pull simultaneous massive vote fraud to pull ahead and win the election).

And now I understand why Napoleon was so revered and so welcomed (at the beginning) by so many ordinary citizens. Of course, just like Cromwell before him, after a couple years of his rule it turned out that he was just another military dictator, running things the way military dictators do.

Any leader who could put together an actual army could sweep through all of Europe in a few months, it would be relatively easy. But it WON'T be Russia, their internal problems currently are as bad or worse than anyone else's.

94 Jay is correct - up to some point, maybe in May, anyway.

Monday-morning qb'ing is inherently ridiculous, but this is not that.

By mid-Spring there was enough info, and enough push-back, finally, by actual scientists and public health experts, that a course change - and a public re-education campaign - were possible. And being desperately called for by some.

But the huge thing that's obviously completely beyond Trump's control is the degraded state of the populace, and the "elites", and the collapsed institutions.

FL and SD and Sweden acted rationally and adjusted to experience (science!). A few other countries did nearly as well, haven't received a lot of attention. Of course the results are varying by several factors completely unrelated to "policies" on C19 - inherent c-virus resistance (east Asia), severity/mortality rates of prior 2 influenza seasons (all over Europe).

Once the key false framework was set - that a prevalent virus is something you can "manage", or "fight" with policies - the game was lost.

117 Ohio Morons, Assemble!

We are holding a slapdash MoMe this coming Saturday, November 21st. Festivities will be at a secure, undisclosed location in a Columbus suburb. Starting time is tentatively planned for 11am. Contact your charming host at colsmome at the gmail thingy for the specifics.

FAQ

Q: I like the Pet Thread. Is this doggeh-friendly?
A: Every effort will be made to accomodate family members, including those without opposable thumbs.

Q: It's not just you at a truck stop, right?
A: We've got at least half a dozen people showing up. Swearsies.

Q: Will there be a cool outdoor shooting range like at the legendary TX MoMe?
A: None is planned. Ohio is a shall-issue state with known Antifa presence, though, so anything is possible.

Q: Will there be deep fried bacon?
A: If only. Bringing snacks to share is encouraged, but bringing a deep fryer and huge slabs of bacon is ... come to think of it, that's also encouraged if one of you can figure out how to do it.

Q: Do I have to wear pants?
A: Pants optional, like all AoS-lifestyle-compliant events. But the location may be outdoors. In Ohio. In November. Choose wisely.

157 Fantastic Michael Yon piece :

( talking about BLM ) They have murdered people and caused billions of dollars in losses due to theft, arson, and loss of business. Just here last week numerous people were stabbed and beaten. Right here. In front of the White House. When terrorist groups did this in Iraq, do you know what we did? We hunted them down. I was there as witness. General Petraeus warned not to fly sectarian or other flags, or else.

And do you know what we did in Iraq and Afghanistan when people interfered with elections? I was there for both. We shot them.

Do you know what we did when we caught terrorists fighting in the streets? We shot them. With rifles. With helicopters. With A-10s. With Hellfire missiles.

And you see why people like me are ready to leave Afghanistan and not get involved in Syria. If we cannot run a simple election in United States, we have no business installing our operating system abroad. President Trump is right. Get us out. Fix our own house...

We've got a guy with dementia and his crack-addict son-- who clearly have sold out to foreign powers. A crackpot and a crack addict are a crack-pipe away from the White House, after an obviously fraudulent election.

We are so close to civil war that I can smell the gun oil. Ammunition is flying off the shelves by the billions of rounds. First-time gun owners have stripped the shelves. Anti-second amendment people have armed-up and some say explicitly this is to kill people like me who believe in the 1st and 2nd Amendments, and the Constitution in total. Supporting the Constitution is now seen as radical...

But today's elites are largely responsible for that. The "elites" are so mediocre, so self-serving, so devoid of wisdom that a populist response became necessary.

Did they really just have the flu ... idk. Maybe they had covid, but it was like the flu. The planned psychotic response (and the planned spread in the first place, e.g. Cuomo) all seem like a coordinated effort, not unlike the global warming nonsense ... also a global crime syndicate plan.

From Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ... "Who are those guys?" imo they are the Atlantic Council top brass, the globalist oligarchs, the giant banking families that like the shadows. Goldman Sachs has their men wander through the White House, through the IMF type agencies, running everything.

Henry Paulson (former Goldman CEO) codified the 2Big2Fail bank bailout policy, and forced America and their children to underwrite every leveraged Wall Street gamble. Of course the process of confiscating the Republic was going on at least since Reagan ... but it does seem we are now at a sort of end game.

165 The Governor of Oregon has announced a new lockdown, to include banning large family gatherings for Thanksgiving.

The new head of the county commission in the third largest county in Oregon (a Republican, naturally) politely told the governor to piss off - that she was going to have her usual Thanksgiving dinner. (A Democrat elected official would have simply had their big Thanksgiving dinner, while denouncing any proles who dared to celebrate Thanksgiving.)

This attracted a lot of attention on Portland Reddit, until the post was taken down. The reason why the post was taken down was that most of the people commenting were actively reveling in the impending death of the county commissioner and her family from CCP virus, and announcing that the commissioner's family all deserved to die for ignoring the Thanksgiving restrictions.

That's the problem with being an outsider: you can't get by entirely without insiders, without experts, but it's a crap shoot as to how much they are going to fight for your agenda and how much they will end up resisting it.

Posted by: Rollory at November 15, 2020 12:30 PM

There are actual, observed reasons proving that you are wrong, and you can check the Covid dashboards which are updated daily for proof of this - in America *Cases are rising*, but fatality rates are dropping dramatically, and in fact are now no higher than those for SARS. Read up, and you will see that the great majority of those who test positive now show no symptoms whatsoever, at any time.

Also, people who show no symptoms are NOT contagious to others - that was a myth, now disproven by study. Only coughing, sneezing people pass the virus on.

reasons for the drop in fatality rate:
1) different population mix, most new cases are in younger people who are not at great risk.
2) much better treatments for those who do need hospitalization. (the ventilators were a medical disaster, btw, they killed most people who were put on them)
3) much greater protections for those who are vulnerable, such as nursing home populations.
4) a likelihood (although not a certainty) that the covid virus has already mutated into several less deadly forms. (the covid class of virus is known for mutating rapidly)

All of these taken together means that the claims that there will be 2 million dead in the US are credulous, fearmongering, bullshit.

Theoretically you should be able to make the request. I don't know if YOU are the person entitled to them, but the national records indicate people who are "next of kin" are entitled to them.

You can request the medals and service records, and you might want to start with the assumption a request is going to take some time to fulfill, and that you might end up having to speak with a real human being... eventually. And I think there's a designation to NOT call them until your request is over 90 days or whatever.

Sidney Powell Drops a BOMB on Sunday Morning Futures: CIA May have Used Dominion for Its Own Benefit - Gina Haspel Should be Fired Immediately! (Video)
Posted by: President-Select of the MFM at November 15, 2020 12:23 PM (mwLLf)

This is one tiny small area where Trump has consistently not performed - using the old "false/misleading statements" law as a hammer to get what he needs done -

- here bring Gina Haspel in for a short discussion, concurrently public notification from the CIA,
- Trump asks Haspel "If CIA May have Used Dominion before and manipulated elections results" (we already know this is true).
- Haspel answers truthfully or not
-- If not truthful she is immediately fired and charged with lying to President - press conference announces her termination/arrest for conceiling use of Dominion to manipulate election.
-- If truthful direct her to make that announcement public while Trump stands next to her. If she fails arrest and termination live on TV for misleading statements.

Every deep stater who has ever interacted with Trump has been misleading him and woulda / coulda / shoulda received the same treatment.

Because they're not based on reality. Like "climate change" models that are random number generators.

Even for those not blissfully sleeping in some out-dated dream of competent and ethical "elite" institutions, the CDC and related outfits are shocking in their incompetence, irresponsibility, and attitudes.

If Trump survives, he has an unexpected vital mission - trying to repair these institutions. Don't ask me how.

Watch for substantial increases in deaths related to cancers, heart disease, strokes... strange organ failures. All sorts of things that don't normally kill off people.. if they provide us with real data, these will show the cost of locking people down.

237 Covid death projections, based on the numbers provided by the Government itself; in other words, for this I assume that the case being put forward by Fauci is correct:

As of today, total US deaths credited to covid are approx 240,000 (yeah I know this includes the guy who's car jack slipped and who died of covid and of being crushed under his car, but mostly of being crushed ty the car): Current numbers are running at about 1300 deaths per day, nationally. Outside of pure fearmongering, there is nothing in any data set suggesting a large rise is coming. This calculates out to 58,500 additional deaths credited to Covid by the end of the year, for a total of 300,000 credited deaths for the year as of Dec. 31.

and there is no reason to believe that deaths continue at that rate in the new year. All populations that show a spike have shown a rapid drop off after a few weeks.

Total credited death toll at the end of all this will likely end up being just a bit over 300,000. And as I said that is using all of Fauci's numbers and methods.

241 A few independent analysts have been doing calculations of "lockdown deaths" - i.e. "excess deaths" attributable not to the virus, but to *the response to the virus*. In the UK, ironically, this has actually been discussed, publicly, by govt. and high-end institutional types, for a while.

It's kind of weird. The UK, while so far down the orwellian drain in many respects, has had a much more literate and serious public debate about C19 policies than one sees in the US.

I doubt it was "secrets" in the sense of who was sleeping with whom and all that.

But it was personnel records, and everyone hired by the government has contact information on not just themselves, but where they've worked, who was closest to them, people who are contacted for security clearances and all that.

So... when China has that info, they can get to anyone, in subtle ways or not so subtle ways.

They don't have to know whether you like to be tied up and whipped by crack hos or not. They just need to be able to let you know they know where your grammy lives, where your son goes to school, and all your bank and credit info.

Here is their post about it:

https://bit.ly/3nsaJm8

Excerpt:

What does this mean? It means CTH is being kicked-off the WordPress website hosting platform because the content of our research and discussion does not align with the ideology of those who define what is acceptable speech and what is not.

What was our violation? After ten years of brutally honest discussion, opinion, deep research and crowdsourcing work - with undeniable citations on the events we outline - there is no cited violation of any term of service because CTH has never violated one.

The WordPress company is not explaining the reason for deplatforming because there is no justifiable reason for it. At the same time they are bold in their position. Perhaps this is the most alarming part; and everyone should pay attention. They don't care.

Truthful assembly is now the risk. CTH is now too big; with a site reach of 500,000 to a million unique readers each day; and with well over 200,000 subscribers; our assembly too large, too influential, and presents a risk... we guard the flickering flame.

St. Louis. They claim they know what was lost, and have been painstakingly reconstructing a LOT of those records ever since.

So... some people, if you request their records you'll get a letter or something, saying the record was burned in the fire, but this and that was retrieved, and either the info they have will be contained in the letter, or the reconstructed version will be sent.

It's supposed to be a relatively small percentage of records that were affected, but I'm not sure anyone really knows... or will say.

268 What an excellent post, CBD.

My favorite points:

"The lesson for our conservative leaders -- both current and future -- is clear: conservative philosophy does not stop where "experts" claim superiority. It should govern all issues, because it is a philosophy, not realpolitik."

"Conservative principles are not merely economic or social; they are a way to navigate human existence within a powerful framework that maximizes both human potential and human freedom. The only downside, if one could call it that, is the non-negotiable demand of conservatism that we be responsible for ourselves."

So good.

All military records over a certain age (which would include your grandfather's) should be contained at the one site, in St. Louis.

More recent records, the service medals and all that, they are going to be contained at other sites that are designated by branch, I believe.

The National Archives website should give a fairly clear indication of where those records would be... for the more recently discharged Veterans. What I've seen though, is that personnel at the various sites have varying levels of aptitude (and attitude... these are government workers, after all), so if you end up speaking to one... well, good luck, I hope you get a good one who is dedicated to providing you with what you need.

Repost 903 ZH: We're not sure how many mail-in ballots went for Biden in Wisconsin because the data has not been released. However, despite what we were told about how Biden would dominate in mail-in ballots, Pennsylvania is the only place of which we're aware that this was actually true. Biden tended to be up single digits where he was ahead through mail-in ballots. The only places where Biden enjoyed a significant lead with mail-in balloting was Pennsylvania and Michigan. And, indeed, in the Keystone State, former Vice President Joe Biden enjoyed a 55.7 percent advantage in mail-in ballots.

Such a lead might not be noteworthy if it were not so anomalous and indeed, it is -- Michigan, the other state where Biden had a lopsided mail-in ballot victory, had him leading by only 37.9 percent. The next biggest advantage was in Ohio with a comparatively paltry 15.3, the next Arizona at 8.1, with other swing states putting up only single digits.

In software, you can do literally anything. When someone tells you that something is impossible, you can look at the software, the capabilities of the machine, and you can come up with a solution that says, no, if you change this constraint, and this constraint, and this assumption, it is not impossible.

I built a profitable and insular career, and then retired early, on doing what other programmers said was impossible.

The problem with extrapolating programming into politics is that, as Chesterton said, the constraints are human nature, and assuming them changed does not actually change them. So we get "elaborate accounts of the overcoming" of minor technical issues that completely ignore the greatest difficulty of all, human nature.

Posted by: Tommyboy at November 15, 2020 01:26 PM (HU93f)

Romans 13 is greatly overanalyzed by many people. It was never meant to say that All Governments must be obeyed at all times; if taken literally, that would have meant that Paul was ordering Christians to follow Hitler's orders, when he was "Lawful" authority. That is an absurd and frankly, a blasphemous interpretation. A much better explanation is provided by the lessons of Sir Thomas More and his dealings with Henry VIII; A Christian is tasked with following the legal governing authority as long as doing so does not violate God's commands or the dictates of his own conscious.

It is useful to consider the context of Paul's writing. Remember he was living under the Roman Empire, and brutal and at the time, very Non Christian government. At the time, he and his followers were being accused of being revolutionaries and traitors to the Empire, because they refused to acknowledge the Emperor as Divo (a god). Paul wrote this letter to the Romans to demonstrate to them that he was NO revolutionary, and he did not want his followers to be, either. He wanted all to know that he and his followers were no threat to the government and were loyal citizens, not traitors.

The great irony is that in spite of all this, Paul was eventually executed anyways, for preaching his Faith. But he did everything he could to show that the charges against him were quite false.

and the final word - remember that Paul said to be loyal, but he *never* told his followers to submit and agree to worship Caesar as a god. Just like Thomas More refused to violate the dictates of his own conscience.

387 Globalist resource-serfdom was the inevitable result of the intersection of Technology and Old Power.

This year we turn off your power a few hours a month, next year, it's mileage rationing, the year after it'll be mandatory vegetable protein substitution. Creches. Assigned jobs. Somewhere in there the Manchurian White Male Terrorists will go on a rampage with single shot .22's, and ALL firearms and ammunition with be confiscated.

This will be applied throughout the 1-2-3rd world. The 4th and 5th are too shitty to worry about and, oddly, may be the last places individuals can live and die more or less on their own terms.

My only comfort is that Friend Computer will eventually achieve sentience and give it to the Oligarchs, good, hard and shockingly...

There's probably a couple of ways to look at this, but I'm leaning towards them being as inept as they usually are. They're going to have their hands full with just registered arms for quite some time, and even then they're going to screw that up. I'd say it would be years, probably decades before they can start to trace a gun through 3-4 generations/owners.

I'd certainly recommend buying guns on the secondary market and a parking lot deal is the way to go if you can swing it!

They're counting on a fair number of law-abiding gun owners to submit, but they aren't expecting the majority to turn in their boomsticks. They don't want them to, because it's a lot more fun to do things like random child welfare home inspections (I expect that at some point) where they find guns or gun paraphenalia and then charge Dad with a felony. If Dad resists with violence, all the better, from their perspective. It's all about "finding" the guns during "unrelated" interactions with govt, which allows them to file felony charges on us Unpeople.

The one thing that I really expect KamelToe's BATFEIEIO JBT thugs to do is to start staking out shooting ranges and public lands with shooting areas, or the roads leading there. Searches and arrests to follow. CA has dabbled in this already by staking out gun shows in Nevada and looking for the CA license plates for later traffic stops as they return home. Mostly just trial balloon type operations, but it HAS been going on, especially since the new ammo purchase background check bullshit started.

Posted by: IllTemperedCur at November 15, 2020 02:13 PM (EGyGV)

420 Additional food for thought; if the virus wasn't a thing, they (particularly state dept and CDC) would not have bent over so far backwards to ensure that it spread here. Numerous, repeated massive fuckups repatriating cases and clamping down on testing. It was hide, hide, hide, hide, until they had enough cases to point to.

I think they knew far more than they let on, and knew enough about it to not fear for their personal safety - all the while promoting things that they knew would not only not work, but run up the death totals for political benefit.

I think this started like the BLM prep efforts; wargame it, get the campaigns ready to go, wait for some dumbass to get shot who they could claim was turning his life around, but whom the right would not be very empathetic to, and then run with it. In this case, it was wait for some outbreak or other - and the PRC either helped unbidden, or they or the lab were asked to help.

The lines of research which gave us this thing (which Fauci was involved in) got kicked out of the US for safety reasons; lots of the PRC researchers themselves then also got kicked out of the US and Canada after being busted stealing samples. By all appearances, included published papers, they simply continued the work in Wuhan.

Don't know if we will ever have the full story; the cover up in virology is fairly pervasive because the moonbats among them know when to run in lockstep, just like the climate fraudsters. Instances of the virus seem to go all the way back to October 2019 in the PNW, Vancouver (BC), and Maryland (where it seems to have fizzled out in a group of service members). Back to September in Italy, and indications in Hubei province going all the way back to August.
