Even As the GOP Flips Another House Seat, Fox's News' "We're Just That Damned Good" Decision Desk Arrogantly Refuses to Retract or Even Comment on Its "Call" that the Democrats Would Pick Up +5 to +15 Seats

Credibility. Accountability. Honesty.

That's Fox's brand, huh?

Republican Michelle Steel has taken the Huntington Beach area seat away from the Democrats.

Earlier, Christopher Gage wrote a barnburner of an article chastising Fox for standing by its "call" just because they will not admit error to the conservatives they plainly despise.

As the GOP continues gaining seats, Fox News has refused all calls to rescind its absurd "call" that the Democrats would win +5 to +15 seats.

In fact, they're so arrogant, they are refusing to even answer legitimate media inquiries about it.

Deb Heine asked if they were standing by the call, and if so, why.

She got the same answer the leftwing media usually gives conservative critics: No answer at all. Nothing but static.

Trusting that they have the media power to smother the story in silence.

It's a good question so American Greatness emailed Fox News Corporation Monday morning to ask it. We didn't receive a reply.

The Fox News Decision Desk made its wildly inaccurate projection early on Election Night, saying that Democrats would win at least five seats in the House. The bad call was devastating to Republican morale and set the false narrative that President Trump had no coattails.

As Gage noted, "this happened while Californians were still voting."

Why does that matter? Because there are four districts in California that Democrats won from Republicans in 2018 and which Republicans were trying to retake. They are likely to win at least three of them.

...

Fox News anchor Martha McCallum reported on Election night that according to some projections, Democrats could pick up as many as 15 seats.

We now know the GOP are projected to gain up to 13 seats, and are 21,000 votes shy of retaking the House, according to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

...

American Greatness emailed Fox News' corporate communications vice president Irena Briganti Monday Morning to ask if the Fox News Decision Desk had rescinded its inaccurate projection, but did not receive a reply.

Giving the finger to conservatives' questions about mistakes?

Fox News has nothing more to learn from CNN. Their transformation is complete.

Meanwhile, the Fox house is burning down -- and the "News" division has forbidden daytime to even cover election fraud.

@JackPosobiec

"Everything except Tucker/Hannity/Laura is cratering. Daytime's been told not to have any guests on from the campaign/legal teams/White House."

Mollie Hemingway tweeted she'd be on Fox tonight.

Most people responded that while they were fans of hers, they were no longer watching Fox.

It's a mystery. They topped ratings every night over all the other news channels for decades and they said hey, you know what real leadership looks like? Being just like everyone else.

12 I don't really know what to do about this.

But I'd say calling VA immediately, and saying D's were on track to pick up house seats definitely suppressed votes out west.

AZ and NV may have went R if the R's out there didn't think there was no point in going out and voting.

I mean, maybe not. But we'll never know.

But I do think that Fox thought it would suppress votes. Which is why they did it.

16 Starting to get sporty. Cold civil war could go hot before this gets too much further.

The MAGA march in DC this weekend *IS* happening. Eventbright emailed everyone that had signed up that the event had been cancelled. It hadn't.

The whistleblower in PA either has recanted his sworn affidavit or hasn't, depending on whether you believe the Postal IG or O'Keefe. They bother posted about it at the same time.

We are starting to see big tech and media moving from a somewhat passive censorship roll to active interference.

Reminder, these things are not done when you believe you are holding a winning hand.

On CNN Blitzer interviewed Schiff who says Haspel might be fired soon, after Esper was fired. How would he know? Why would he comment about her at all? And why would she brief the Senate Majority Leader today, if she is about to be fired?

Things are getting sporty.

It's very possible (I'd say likely) that he waivered a bit on the details of the story, the cops threatened him with charges for signing a false affidavit, and he said "well, I don't know. I don't remember" or something, and so they turn around and say "he recanted his story."

That kind of stuff happens all the time. I've watched cops write in reports "the suspect then admitted to this Officer that his original story was untrue" when I have the damned body cam footage and that's not at all what happened.

Yeah, I remember making fun of them for their media circle jerk "election simulations" which seemed very odd to me, since they had people playing military generals and the supreme court, and I kept thinking "what? 78 The democrats studied the 2000 election and learned a valuable lesson. While most of us dwell on the counting of chads and hanging chads and court decisions, the real story of that election night happened early in the evening. FL was called for Gore nearly an hour before polls closed in the Panhandle. I turned on the TV, saw that it had been called, and said to my wife "Al Gore is the next President." i was deflated. It's been estimated that Bush lost 10k net votes in the Panhandle. It had to crush Republican GOTV efforts in west of FL. Yes, FL was eventually moved to undecided and then to Bush, but much damage had been done. And so the Dems sat on this newfound maneuver until needed. And here we are. No calls, delayed calls, wrong calls all in the favor of the Dems.

Not sure about that.

Midway through the movie the government thought they had Michael Corleone dead to rights. They had a sworn affidavit from an insider in the family claiming all these crimes were done, etc. When the day in court came, Michael came, bringing with him the whistleblower's uncle from Sicily to sit beside him. It was, essentially, a threat: If you don't recant, you will die, he will die, everyone you love will die.

He recanted in court and the government flipped.

Great scene.

128 Willowed, and Important:

Let me spell this out to people.
Follow along carefully.

The state legislatures of WI, MI and PA were just returned to office with solid Republican majorities.

These
aren't DC beltway squishes, they live in their own communities. It is
literally, demonstrably, *provably* more dangerous for them to betray
their constituents than to do what is right.

Their communities were ROBBED. Their constituents watched as a statewide election was STOLEN.

Happily, they can take it back. They can give those electoral votes to the rightful winner.

The
court cases will prove the depth of the fraud. Discovery will force Dem
Secretaries of State to admit they allowed any old ballot to count.

All the crap about safeguards? Yeah, it will be exposed as b.s.

This is why the Dems are going apeshit.

Reality check: People who know they are winning are chill and relaxed.

Compare and contrast Obama 2012 with the Dems today. They are NOT acting like this won this.

Which is weird, because supposedly Landslide Joe blew away Obama's vote totals!

Be not afraid.

That impression was reinforced late yesterday when I noticed the resume of Chris Miller, the new acting Defense Secretary. He's from the Midwest, born in Iowa. 163 Also from "voter fraud" to "election fraud."

This isn't about a bunch of individuals deciding to take the risk in submitting a fraudulent ballot (even if that happened, too), this is about organizations using various *systems* to change the election results. Big different.

223 A bit of advanced thumb-suckery here.

The 3 key fraud states (PA MI WI) have big cities which have enjoyed some spirited peaceful protests (i.e. idiotic destructive and deadly riots) in the last 6 months. Except for MI, interesting.

Anyway, I have close to zero confidence in the PA legislature acting like adults and doing their duty. No idea about MI and WI.

But if in fact these legislatures end up voiding the election, there will be festivities (Phila, Madison, Milwaukee), maybe Detroit but not even sure about that. But how much? Common sense and the unvarying local anecdotal evidence and reactions from the locations themselves tell us Biden of course had zero enthusiasm there (one of the mysteries, or tells, of the election, depending on how it goes).

Those most likely to engage in festive peaceful protesting in these places are simply not people who care about Biden, per se. Nor are they as full of anti-Trump hatred as they might once have been.

Might be a dud. However, I can see outsiders coming in, bigly. And if you thought the NC bathroom policy boycott was something, wait until you see what happens to one of these states (especially if it comes down to one of them, as it might) if they are seen as flipping the presidential election.

They'd take the British albums, chop off some songs, change the title, sell a 10- or 12-song album when the original British was 14 songs, and sell the remainders as singles, so they could make more money.

It was even worse I believe with the Stones' early albums.

233 I meant to mention this below. Someone speculated that Haspel went to McConnell say there was no evidence of fraud.

I know it was sarcasm, but there is an important point. Director of CIA can't brief anyone regarding any US based investigation. They aren't supposed to know about it, it is a Title X violation.

What Haspel would be allowed to brief on would be something like illegal use of an intelligence tool for domestic purposes.

Not say that was it, but it is a permissible point of discussion.

246 Let me remind you that no pollster called the UK election of 11 months ago right either.

And now, for a bit of humor this Marine Corps birthday:

(Some of you may have seen this before)

One day a pilot was taxiing towards a runway, getting ready to take off. But he needed a time hack for his watch. So he got on the radio and asked the tower what time it was. The air traffic controller couldn't see him, so he asked the pilot, "Sir, what kind of pilot are you?"

The pilot looked at his radio in disgust. "What do you mean, what kind of pilot I am? The time is the time no matter what!"

The air traffic controller calmly replied, "Sir, what kind of pilot you are determines my response.
If you are a commercial airline pilot, it is 3:00 pm.
If you are a Air Force pilot, it is 1500 hours.
If you are a Navy pilot, it is six bells.
If you are an Army pilot, "the big hand points at the 12 and the little hand points at the 3."
And if you are Marine pilot, it's Thursday afternoon.

If the D's suspected that the R's were involved in anywhere near as much fraud as they are, we'd have voter ID laws, no same day registration, no mail in voting, etc. in every state in 2 minutes flat.

But as long as only one side (as far as we can tell) benefits from massive amounts of election fraud, well ... we're being suckers here.

Okay, but if you have one half (or more) of the power structure that benefits from election fraud, how do you propose punishing those who engage in it?

They won't pass laws that make it harder to engage in fraud. They won't investigate for possibilities of fraud. They won't prosecute suspect fraud. And they deny fraud is even happening.

So ... what? We just get angry every 4 years and accept that this is our reality?

Posted by: Harry Paratestes at November 10, 2020 07:19 PM (UPoLF)

297 And the only things that confound the reasonable - in fact irresistible - expectation that Trump would triumph fairly easily, and that fraud must be what accounts for PA MI WI, are NC and AZ.

Senate races. NC is in "WTF?" territory, as the Dem exploded like a Tsar Bomba, mid-campaign, with one of the most incendiary scandals of recent years.

And in AZ, the always-mediocre McSally lost (by 7??) to a really unimpressive (leaving aside the creepy and loathsome part) challenger. If Trump wins by 389 in AZ, and the GOP senate race is lost to a very unappealing gun-grabber (AZ!), by a blowout margin ..... then maybe it *is* conceivable that Trump lost in MI.

Posted by: rhomboid at November 10, 2020 07:19 PM (OTzUX)

++++

That sounds like a good reason to fall in line with the righteous indignation of your voters. A politician who doesn't spend half his time covering his ass is no politician at all. When the moment comes they will say "We agree with you! We're angry too! We will do as you say!" because these are STATE legislators. These people are us, uncorrupted by the One Ring of DC Power.

That sounds like a good reason to fall in line with the righteous indignation of your voters. A politician who doesn't spend half his time covering his ass is no politician at all. But it's a very uphill battle. Not only is this a political question, which courts hate to touch, but the Constitution specifically grants Congress the right to decide when elections are and when people are sworn in, and they've passed legislation spelling that out.

35,000 ballots were delivered on the same day as the "sent" date.

Yup. Machine Messiah and Tempus Fugit are two faves--and I really liked the release Run Through the Light

Drama is good because it still has two of the best parts of Yes: Howe and Squire.

Heck, most of the really good pieces that Yes put out were Anderson/Howe compositions. So, although I think Peter Banks got the shaft from the group, Howe was the writer that Yes needed for some awesome pieces like the *feat* of Gate of Delirium.

Am I in the right ballpark?
Posted by: Warai-otoko at November 10, 2020 07:25 PM (6FeV1)

The polls predicted him +5 to +15 going in to the election.

Clearly those numbers were wrong.

And like, honestly, every election seasons polls are wrong. They spend all summer saying the D is +10 or +12, then it "tightens" at the end, then they say "well, yes we had D+3, but, you know, with the margin of error and all, we weren't really THAT wrong when we said Trump wouldn't win. Just a little wrong."

So we can discount the polls.

And election day is full of fraud, possibly in the millions of ballots in swing states.

Understanding that -- how do we know the country doesn't routinely vote 55 or 60% republican, and the D's cheat so much that they win a decent amount of the time?

Not this much fraud, but it is measurable to a degree.

Prior to 2018, Broward County was fraud central. After Brenda Snipes almost cost DeSantis the Governor's race, he fired her and forced Broward to clean up their act.

You can go look at the partisan split in Broward in 2016, 2018, and 2020 and see a massive improvement for the GOP. It is still a blue district, but voting at something like 55-45, not 65-35. The shift didn't come because Trump suddenly got more popular in that county.

Posted by: Harry Paratestes at November 10, 2020 07:21 PM

Here is another crazy stat.

You know how people say the country is split 50/50? Not the case at all.

Over the past 100 years, voter turnout (total votes cast / total eligible voters) typically falls between 50-60%. Over the past 40 years, it has bottomed out at 49% in 1996 and peaked at 58.2% in 2008.

Turnout this year looks to be about 58% or so. With Biden with 51% and Trump at 49%, that means that it's actually...

Biden -- 30%
Trump -- 28%
Apathy -- 42%

Who knows what is the partisan breakdown of the 42%.

Whether NC has a strong executive or not, the Constitution tasks the legislatures with time place and manner of elections. That is not colorable and would not survive challenge.

Also, part of the PA suit is that Dem localities broke the law to contact Dem voters so they could cure ballots before election day but Rep areas followed the law and did not. That is an equal protection violation that applies equally as well in NC.

Plan B, which had to be executed at the last minute when Trump was outperforming their expectations, was to cheat in so many places that the courts wouldn't overturn them all, and Trump would just give up out of futility.

It is actually a bold move.

Instead of cheating and not being detected, cheat in such an outrageous manner that no one can believe it really happened.

Posted by: Harry Paratestes

========

Harry, all you have to do is look at how the California Propositions went this year.

- Resumption of affirmative action: NO, by 12 points

- Raise taxes for schools and local governments with property tax on commercial and industrial property: NO, by 4 points

- Voting for 17-year-olds: NO, by 10 points

- Transfer of property tax breaks for seniors: YES

- Rent control: NO, by 20 points

- Require and MD at a dialysis clinic: NO, by 30 points

- Leave cash bail in place: YES, by 12 points

Similar thing happened in my community, where voters overturned a permit for a pot dispensary that was voted in by the city council and never put up to the citizens for a vote. I think they were just pissed that they were never asked.

When you present these issues a la carte on the ballot, people reveal what they want. The trouble is, they don't seem to connect voting for a particular candidate/party to how their lives are running.

(As soon as someone realizes this, California's constitution will change and no referendums or propositions will be allowed.)

They seemed less good the second night. They weren't, really, but it was EXACTLY the same, same set list (maybe one song different, don't remember), same notes. So I wandered off in search of bands that would be interestingly different from night to night.

Also, Jon Anderson has a remarkable voice, but he has almost no stage charisma. I had to keep looking to satisfy myself that he was really there.

Issue an order that none of the disputed elections are valid until the disputes are resolved. So January rolls around and there is no EC vote. What does Congress do? They can pass legislation to delay all the dates and Trump continues in office.

Point is, they aren't bound to the dates congress established in their rulings.

523 Harry, all you have to do is look at how the California Propositions went this year.

Similar thing happened in my community, where voters overturned a
permit for a pot dispensary that was voted in by the city council and
never put up to the citizens for a vote. I think they were just pissed
that they were never asked.

When you present these issues a la carte on the ballot, people
reveal what they want. The trouble is, they don't seem to connect voting
for a particular candidate/party to how their lives are running.

(As soon as someone realizes this, California's constitution will change and no referendums or propositions will be allowed.)

Not 100% true JJ. Statistical analysis is admissible and was used in the 1976 case challenging NY presidential results. But it has to be coupled with proof that fraud occurred.

First you prove there are enough incidents of fraud to show it was not localized, but widespread. Then statistical analysis can show the impact of the fraud.

Right now the stats are solid showing how much fraud there was and the real impact of it.

A stable society exists thanks to a strong rule of law, and the founders knew this.
If you know that you are going to lose the court case if you breach the contract, you won't breach the contract, no matter how much you are tempted.
Property rights are hammered out for every possible scenario, because there are people who would like very much to seize your property. The same with inheritance laws. No point in trying to pull a fast one, if it is clear you are going to lose.
The Constitution is not a very long document, but transition of power is set forth in alot of detail--exact dates, and who has to do what. If you don't do your job, then your state doesn't get a voice. No deviations permitted, so that no one thinks there's an upside to trying to seize power.

I think the SCOTUS opinion is going to take some time and I don't think it will be a question of a recount.

The problem in PA first and foremost is a Constitutional one. The governor and the PA Supreme Court clearly violated the law by usurping power that belongs to the PA legislature. Changing the rules for late voting as was done by the Gov and the Court without the legislature was clearly unconstitutional and if that is true every vote counted under the unconstitutional act is illegal.

I think SCOTUS will wait and see what happens elsewhere before ruling.

655 There's a tweet going around with Jake Tapper correcting Joe Reid on her dumbassery about 538's website being a reference to how many votes were decided between Bush and Gore in 2000 (it was 537; 538 is how many electors, etc).

Anyway, conservative media is laughing at Joe and using Tapper's tweet to do it, and they're playing right into his hands.

Jake's tweet is only 30% "Joe Reid is an idiot."

The other 70% is "Biden is Bush and Trump is Gore."

And that's simply not accurate, though I wouldn't expect as much from Tapper.

In Florida you had...
1. an automatic recount
2. an automatic machine recount
3. an automatic machine recount that Gore sued to become a hand recount
4. an automatic machine recount that Gore sued to become a hand recount but only in Gore friendly precincts

The Supreme Court stepped in and said "you're disenfranchising voters. Stop." At that point, FL's sec of state certified Bush the winner

In 2020, neither Trump nor Gore have won PA (or any of these other swing states). Some are still counting, some will auto-recount, and some will be sued for a recount by Trump.

The difference is Trump is asking for a full state hand recount, not just a recount in Trump-favorable districts. In fact, if anything he'd want a hand recount in Biden favorable districts! Trump is fighting to maintain the integrity of the enfranchised, not support disenfranchisement by allowing spoiled ballots into the pile.

It's apples and oranges

But Jake is trying to pre-argue that SCOTUS will "overturn" the vote in PA. No, at most SCOTUS will say "these ballots in PA, these ones over here, the ones that are illegal? Those are illegal and shouldn't be part of the final tally." That's not overturning anything. That's getting the numbers right before the election in the state is certified.

notice that he tries to imply that Florida was Bush's and so SCOTUS didn't "overturn" the call. No. That's very clever of him but it's a lie. He's saying that because he wants to later say PA is Biden's and so SCOTuS shouldn't overturn the call. But Florida wasn't Bush's until it was certified and that didn't happen until the SCOTUS told Florida's supreme court to stay out of it.

PA is not Biden's nor is it Trump's, not until it is certified, and if it can't be certified, then the state house will handle what to do with their electors.

but again, this is NOT, like Bush v Gore, no matter how badly the media wants it to be

I don't remember who, might've been James Woods on twitter, said "if you want to know what the DNC marching orders are today, just listen to Jake Tapper."

So the story is "Trump is Gore except he won't concede."

And I just did a quick search of various "mainstream" news sources and, lo and behold, that narrative is everywhere today.

At least the commies had government-appointed media to carry their water, or else. Networks in America are technically free; they just sold out.

674 543 Whether NC has a strong executive or not, the Constitution tasks the legislatures with time place and manner of elections.

Actually, the Congress may determine the Time.

Posted by: Article 2 Section 1 Paragraph 5 at November 10, 2020 07:43 PM (BBWrU)

Point conceded but you have to admit, Article 2, you do not give any veto power to the Governor of NC.
Posted by: redbanzai the Southerner at November 10, 2020 07:46 PM (946rW)

But article 2 does not give a legislature the ability to Ex Post Facto just do whatever they want.

Otherwise, why bother with Presidential elections.

The Legislature sets up the procedure, prior to election day, that determines how electors are selected and seated.

The Electoral Count act of 1887 came about, because during one prior election, some southern States had a situation where the Governor sent in one slate, and the Legislature sent in another.

That Act says the Governors Slate wins in that case.

It also says that a Legislature CAN change election law prior to Election day, and there is a 'safe harbor' time limit when, if said law is disputed in court, they have until 6 days before the Electors vote to get it resolved (and the new change can then still take effect).

Now, 1887 has never been tested in court. So who knows how the Supremes would view it.

But it sure reads like it was never intended that a Legislature could just over ride the existing law, and put in electors THEY voted on.

Also BTW, they didn't set off fireworks in London and Edinburgh, and church bells in Paris did not ring to celebrate Joe's "victory". The fireworks were from Guy Fawkes Weekend, and the bells were being rung in solidarity with those who couldn't attend Mass due to the Wuhan regulations.

717 Mark Steyn was a co defendent with National Review against Michael Mann, with the idiots from Jones Day representing them both. So Steyn has a lot of experience with them. I read his opinion of them years ago and it wasnt good

Steyn eventually went independent and now appears to be winning his part of the case against Mann, while Jones Day just wracks up costs that get paid off by NR cruise participants. So Steyn obviously had better strategy than Jones Day. He also holds a grudge.

Now, Mark Levine flipped out and went after Steyn (not by name) and accused him of dragging volunteer lawyer for the Trump effort through the mud (apparently Levines wife is one of them). I did not hear all of Mark Steyn today so I do not know how true this was, but Levine does holds a grudge against him since Steyn sued Levine and the original funder of Levine TV for breach of contact and has won. And he may not like it that Steyn is a front runner to inherit the EIB network slot of Rush passes away (a guess, nothing more!). Its one of the things I view Levine in low esteem for, and I usually like him a lot. (Although he was a frothing never Trumper before the election, I and many like me have forgiven him for it - his transformation seems real).

Inside baseball, but I find it disappointing that Mark Levine can be so vindictive. He is that way against many others (although the grudge match against Glenn Beck evaporated after Beck reached out to him, and now Levines tv show is on Blaze TV ). Steyn is no where as rich as Levine, and seems like a nicer guy overall. That he is not a lawyer is a plus

Yes, he and Rush are not authoritative. But given Steyns experience withJones Day, I bet he has them pegged to rights on this one.
