Not only are the Cadillacs spray painted, but the access road, jersey barriers, and dumpsters are as well. Very chaotic artistic. My brother took lots of pictures.


A street vendor trailer sells the spray paint and memorabilia. The site is just off of an interstate in Amarillo.

She responded with the Nike slogan. Okay, I filled up the gas tank, picked up the celery and Tater Cremes and came home. I went to put the Tater Cremes in the pantry....

I've spent the last 18 months wrestling with Medicare on behalf of two parents that were in assisted living at the same time. I'm pretty sure the qualifications for working in that government cesspool is brain damage and dishonesty. During the pandemic they required me to drive 40 miles to an office location where they promptly told me the person I was to meet would be calling in shortly (She wasn't even at that office. I could have zoomed her from home). Eventually, I got it all squared away, but never again ...NEVER AGAIN. They are more incompetent than the DMV...by far.

So it's still going? In 1974 my lab partner and I took off on a USA tour from Cambridge, MA. From LA we did the Grand Canyon and then somewhere we started seeing these signs for this steakhouse. We stopped there and had a regular steak and learnt all about that 72oz/potato/bread roll challenge.

Actually, you fixed it *better* than you would've with the ol' WD.

See, WD-40 is neither an oil or a lubricant. That it exhibits such qualities is but a short-term artifact of the "carrier" fluid, which is the base of it's Water Displacing formula.

Oh, and as a bonus? Spray an old tee shirt down with WD-40, and wrap your favorite, old, blued handgun in it before you store it away. You'll come back to find a dulled, mottled, and utterly ruined finish on what used to be a gun to be proud of.

Buy either name brand lubricating oils. Or, one quart of Mobile One, and have all your gun and household lubricating needs filled for a lifetime.

I've been trying to get more Thanksgiving theme lights/decorations for the house. It's an important holiday, and a necessary break between Halloween and Christmas. I wish I could find better items than pilgrims and turkey and pumpkin pie. I really like the Mayflower emblem that's on the Mayflower replica- a white flower in a triangle of green leaves. I thought maybe that could be done with some xmas light strands. Anyone have other ideas?

Depending on the time of day, it takes an hour just to drive from one side of Houston to the other. Katy can be another hour. San Antonio 3.5 hours from Katy. San Antonio isn't even 1/2 way to Amarillo. On the way to San Antonio you'll notice these two little hills. If you look North and South from I-10 you'll notice they go off into the distance.

If you look at a satellite photo of TX, you'll see this is the edge of a giant impact crater which predates the Rocky Mountains. The western edge of the crater was obliterated when the Mountains formed. The center of the crater looks like it is in the Midland - Odessa area.

For several years I volunteered with Catholic Charities in a southern town. We did a huge Christmas drive for needy families. It takes ALOT of planning and organization for an event like that. We would start working on the event late summer. We served 200 families and provided toys, clothes and a full Christmas dinner. Almost all of the families were POC. We would get complaints saying "we don't want white people food". Really, we provided your family with a turkey, ham and many of the usual Christmas dinner items.

Sometimes you can't win.

It takes me a little bit over 3 hours to drive from my home to the TxMoMe city. One hour of which is getting from my location on the far SSE side of HOU to the Woodlands on the far NNW. Ugh. Part of that was cooler-running engines, leaded fuel, and no catalytic converters. On short runs, mufflers would become wet with condensed water inside, and partially-burned fuel would dissolve in it, forming a weak acid, that eventually ate through the metal. A long road trip, say 20-30 miles, would heat the muffler up enough to drive off all the moisture.

Holiday decorations are dictated by the kids. Mom and Dad put up any decorations requiring electricity and heights. The grandkids take over after that. The house and yard are such a mixture of decorations and it is awesome.

Some of the people around have told them we can tell your home is a home full of love and fun.

It's all about the kids. We're only young once.

The Sierra Vista area is godly. Plus they have a nice Honda Motorsports dealership where I almost bought my Honda Trail 125. The Huachuca McDonald's is where the drive-thru part of the business started. Why? Because the military peeps had just enough time to leave the base, drive through and get back to protecting America from southern Arizona. I know, the whole thing sounds like I making it i up.

Went to work on Sons house (basement remod) he has power, however the furnace isn't working.

Just think, there's no reason why we couldn't have a 65 Chevy Impala that wouldn't rust out, get 25mpg on the freeway, have the equivalent power of an old big block, need hardly any maintainance besides oil changes and brakes occasionally, and last 250-300k. Only computer is to run the engine and transmission, and cost $20-25k. Can't make enough money to pay the big shots another $100 mil a year off that though.

"Expert" Allan Lichtman Melts Down In Argument With Master Debater Cenk Uygur (???), Declares That Anyone Saying He's Wrong Is Commiting "A Blasphemy Against Me"

Allen Lichtman, like so many other pretenders in the media sphere, is a literal zero. He is a nobody, a nothing, a nil.

You only know who he is because every four years, the media trots him out as part of their efforts to fill up as many minutes as possible with nonsense.

You've seen him -- he's the guy with the "13 keys" for predicting, or just guessing, the outcome of presidential elections. (He's such an incredible scholar that you haven't heard of him in any other context.)

He claims something like his 13 keys have "predicted" the winner in all but one of the last nine presidential elections.

Some might say that sounds like it's not much of a better record than most people would achieve through simple guessing, especially given that most presidential contests are not close and can easily be predicted by people who do not possess the awesome power of The Keys.

But those people are Blasphemers, as we'll soon find out.

Before Biden dropped out, this Savant claimed his "keys" predicted a Biden win, so Democrats must stick with Biden. The keys guaranteed his re-election!

Mind you, this was at a time when we now know that Biden's internal polling showed him losing 400 electoral votes to Trump.

After Biden dropped out, he guaranteed that Kamala would win. His Keys proclaimed her victory!

But some other people looked at his stupid "keys" and found that, first of all, they were largely about highly subjective things like whether the short-term economy and the long-term economy were positive for the incumbent or not.

Despite that the fact that America is in the grips of high inflation (short term) and on the edge of a recession (long term), Lichtman gave these two "keys" to Kamala Harris.

Nate Silver said, "Wait a minute, that doesn't seem right to me."

Lichtmann blasted him as a know-nothing punk who just didn't know how to properly work the Magic Keys.

During election night, this alleged political "scientist" just kept making up excuses for why his Keys weren't as magical as they usually are, and offering increasingly desperate statistically-unlikely scenarios whereby the Keys would be vindicated and Kamala would win.

Here's some more pathetic cope.

After the election and his complete humiliation, Lichtman announced that he was stepping back from the media and internet to ponder why his Keys had been so wrong.

"My prediction for this presidential election was wrong. I own up to it right now. I am taking time off today."

"My aim is to assess why the keys were wrong and what we can learn from this era and what the election means for the future of our country going forward."

That lasted about 48 hours. Within 48 hours, he'd figured out the problem:

The Keys were right. They'd always been right.

It was the voters who were wrong.

Now back from his intense 48 hour period of reflection and re-analysis, Lichtman has been spamming out excuses about why his incredible, magical, fantastical keys completely got the winner wrong. (Although Nate Silver would say that actually the keys pointed to a Trump win, but Lichtmann is such a hyperpartisan he wrongly assigned keys to get the outcome he wanted.)

His favorite excuse is... wait for it...

"Misinformation." You see, his Keys totally overlooked the possibility that the Democrat's opponent might get to speak during this election cycle, and say things that hyperpartisans like Lichtman don't think is true.

Which is what he means by "misinformation."

His keys work GREAT unless a Republican is allowed to be heard! If that happen, the Keys are of no use whatseover!

Well, it gets worse for Allan Lichtman.

Piers Morgan had him on to offer more excuses for his Fortune Cookies not correctly forecasting the future, but he was confronted by someone smarter, wiser, saner, and more emotionally intact than he is.

And I can't believe I'm saying this, but that Hero was Cenk Uygur.

Lichtman kept offering a 3M factory's worth of excuses -- misinformation, Musk, and misogyny -- for why his Keys failed, arguing that his Keys were as perfect as they ever were, and Uygur basically kept repeating one simple point that, while very basic, was very insightful: "But you were wrong."

Lichtman began yelling, which he always does when his precious Keys are questioned, and culminated in telling Uygur, who I think is a Muslim, that when he says that Lichtman is wrong and his Keys are dumb, that is committing "blasphemy against me."

Yes, this "scientist" said that.

I don't know what prior "debate" Cenk is referring to, but I would guess that Cenk objected to Lichtman's claim that the Democrats must stick with Biden, because of the Magic Keys.

And now... he's quit Twitter, and moved to the Bubble Community of BlueSky, where all the censorship-demanding leftists are moving to.

To hell with these "experts" who are incapable of acknowledging error or honestly judging the limits of their own claimed "expertise."
