Look At Who Twitter Suggests I Follow -- 19 Days Before a Very Consequential Presidential Election

I signed up for Twitter -- don't worry, it's just to be able to read stuff more easily.

This is who they recommended I follow -- 19 days before an important presidential election.

Not a single conservative politician, not even the very popular Donald J. Trump, although, of course, Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton are all recommended.

And Alexandria Donkey-Chompers. And John Kerry. And Michael Bloomberg.

Not a single conservative pundit -- unless you count "David Frum," a liberal who is now all but a declared Democrat (and who only doesn't declare as Democrat to preserve his market value as a "reasonable conservative").

I would include the media accounts it suggested I follow, but it might give away my location. Trust me, they're all leftwing.

And there are conservative media in the area. But Twitter decided not to recommend I follow those.

Twitter is not a media publishers company, supposedly. They are supposedly a social media platform.

Publishers can of course engage in grotesque political bias without being charged with making an in-kind donation to a politician.

They get away with that because they're publishers-- and publishers' can express a viewpoint with First Amendment protection.

But Twitter is not a publisher -- or so they claim.

So if they're not a publisher, just another corporation making a buck, how are they not being sued by the FEC for making enormous in-kind donations to Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, and by refusing to report their in-kind donations, evading donation limits?'

Are they gonna give me the bullshit that it's just MUH ALGORITHM that decided I was a hardcore leftwinger interested in Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?

By the way, the tweet I was looking at when I decided to get the account was by Noah Bloom -- a Commentary-type pretend-Republican but really an effete urban liberal NeverTrumper.

Now, I think he's a c#ck and a jerkoff. But he's not a Donkey-Chompers fan.

So with Twitter only knowing one thing about me -- that I opened a tweet by Noah Bloom -- how did it get the idea I wanted to follow John Kerry, Michael Bloomberg, Bernie Sanders, AOC, Barack Obama, etc.?

If "Muh Algorithm" were tailoring the recommendations according to what they knew about me (just the Noah Blum tweet), they should have guessed that I was an effete urban liberal Republican and recommended c#ck sites like National Review and c#ck politicians like Mitt Romeny.

But they didn't. They went full leftwing.

(Update: I just realized -- the David Frum recommendation is the one recommendation based off the fact that I was looking at Noah Blum tweet. They're both smug, cucked out cosmopolitan pretend Republican NeverTrumpers. But otherwise, the list is simply leftwing politicians that Twitter wants to promote without disclosing the in-kind contribution.)

This is a deliberate corporate attempt to influence the vote of a client.

"Muh Algorithm" didn't do this -- leftwing Twitter executives did.

And they are breaking federal law by not reporting their in-kind contributions. They have turned their corporation into a free advertising platform for Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, and they refuse to admit this in federal campaign disclosures.

If you don't believe me-- sign up for a dummy account and get an eyeful of the socialists and communists and hardcore Democrat activists (like Chuck Todd) that Twitter helpfully suggests you follow.

followlist1.png

followlist2.png

followlist3.png

followlist4.png

If John Deere tractors, say -- who is also Not a Publisher -- turned its corporate publicity into a 24/7 advertising effort for the GOP, they'd have to disclose their in-kind (meaning: not in money, but in goods and services) donations.

Why doesn't Twitter?

It's also supposedly Not a Publisher.

So which is it, Twitter -- are you Not a Publisher, in which case you have section 230 immunity but not immunity from federal law requiring you to disclose in-kind donations to a candidate, are are you a Publisher, in which case you do not have to disclose in-kind donations, but do not have s.230 immunity to lawsuit?

If anyone is in contact with any Republican representatives who do more than posture on this issue, please forward this post to them.

1 Years ago my wife and I were driving west of Winnipeg when I saw a car speeding along a country road intersecting the highway.

I knew he wasn't stopping so I was able to take evasive action. Sure he came to a stop in the middle of the highway.

I assume other drivers are murderous maniacs intent on killing me.

I haven't seen any bumper stickers at all. In the case of Trump voters, they don't want their cars to be keyed or their windows smashed in by a mob in case they get stuck in the middle of a mostly peaceful protest. In the case of Biden voters, who knows?

The nicer the car, the less likely you are to see a bumper sticker on it. The cars plastered with lefty slogans are inevitably junkers.

42 What's really depressing about what's going on in NYC isn't that Comrade Deblasio and his minions are closing in on synagogues like a pincer, it's that there isn't an army they have the fight through to do it. Those synagogues should be protected by throngs of people who take freedom of religion seriously. Same with any church that has the balls to open.

The absence of rage on the streets by free citizens is what I find most depressing.

Rights.

Use the same mechanism that has been used for the equal Rights movement, public accommodation.
---

This is perfectly reasonable. Folks like to claim that the Constitution only limits government action (in theory), but the truth of the matter is it's purpose is to recognize the Rights given to us by God. The government is not merely forbidden from infringing on our Rights, it's sole legitimate purpose is to protect them against anyone else who would infringe them.

#2 raised an eyebrow for me, too. That is four million Benjamins. So how much is that?

A bill is 2.61" x 6.14" x 0.0043"

So assuming a large standard suitcase, it is about 30" x 20" x 12" and we'll assume those are inside dimensions.

In 12", you can fit 2,790 bills, so each stack is that many. You can get three stacks longwise, and 11 stacks in the other direction, for a total of 31 stacks. 31 stacks is 86,490. There is some wiggle room here, but the point remains that about 100k bills is nowhere close to 4 million bills. They aren't even in the same universe.

Not to mention that 4 million bills would weigh close to 9,000 pounds - or more than I'd try to lift in a suitcase.

My assessment, for what it's worth: bullshit (unless it was bonds or something that isn't cash).

153 Another fun thing to consider is putting a valuation on the "in kind" contribution.

For example, at what price would twitter be willing to to sell to Trump the "service" of squelching a negative story from a major newspaper then making your selected counter-narrative story trend everyday until the story goes away?

And if it's not for sale, then I guess it's "priceless" which makes the fines and legal penalties stackup pretty high.

+++++++++++

You can
get three stacks longwise, and 11 stacks in the other direction, for a
total of 31 stacks. 31 stacks is 86,490. There is some wiggle room here,
but the point remains that about 100k bills is nowhere close to 4
million bills. They aren't even in the same universe.

Not to mention that 4 million bills would weigh close to 9,000 pounds - or more than I'd try to lift in a suitcase.

My assessment, for what it's worth: bullshit (unless it was bonds or something that isn't cash).

2% and lower you don't have to worry about distorting things too much. Income taxes are very inefficient, sales taxes are somewhat more efficient, the most efficient are those where payment is effectively disconnected from economic activity(so creating no disincentive towards work or generating value).

As for punishing specific undesirable groups of people, a tax code is less practical than declaring them an enemy of the state and taking their stuff.

And this is why the monopolies and cartels need to be broken up. You can make your own social media company if you want, but only if:
- You also have a captive hosting system and don't need to buy capacity on the market
- Have your own fully-replicated DNS infrastructure where you can't have your names fucked with
- Have your own backhaul and network backbone where you won't get throttled by the carriers
- Have your own payment processing network, where you won't get iced out by the payments cartel
- Have your own bank, where you won't get your accounts canceled

So yeah. You're welcome to start your own social media enterprise - as long as you have your own technical economy to go with it.

I was at a doctor's office this morning, signing in, when a very attractive woman came in. She was wearing exercise tights, and when I say tights, believe me when I tell you that word was accurate. Left absolutely nothing to the imagination, IYKWIMAITYD.

I'm a normal heterosexual male, but I felt embarrassed for her. Genital displays are usually reserve for the zoo.

ones who'd ever seen a camel had been in the War and when they described
it to the ones who hadn't they were not believed, and to think that a

but that's what they said it was, and thereafter she could not buy bread

347 Don't worry Ace, Josh Hawley is total on the case and will stop Big Tech from interfering in our elections, by holding a Senate hearing in a week..... which the tech guys most likely won't show up to, but I mean all that really matters is that these weak republicans have campaign ad material for next time, since they won't be able to hold any decent hearings for the next 2 years when they lose the senate in November.

This was an issue that should have been dealt with years ago. They had all these CEOs on capital hill and allowed them to sit there and li, and they did absolutely nothing about it. They know that as long as their particular seat is safe they can just play the game and not do any hard work.

348 Twitter, Facebook, and Google are publicly traded companies. Suspend their trading and remove them from the stock exchanges, pending the outcome of investigation for election tampering/manipulation. Make the process part of the punishment, because we all know how slow and deliberate a government investigation can be.

It was what the ladies called her "private parts" and the men called her "baby-hole" and the doctors (or 'doctor,' there was only one to serve the county's four beats, and he was busy enough that the women usually doctored for each other anyway) called her "vagina," but every man in that store that day who saw it called it a "camel toe," and even though this was deep in Mississippi and the only ones who'd ever seen a camel had been in the War and when they described it to the ones who hadn't they were not believed, and to think that a thing that walked in hot sand had toes like a man was simply too much, but that's what they said it was, and thereafter she could not buy bread or linen or go to church or any other thing she did in the course of a day without some one of them in a group of boys (or men) saying "camel toe" aloud and the rest of them helplessly collapsing into piles of howling laughter...

Largest note ever was $100,000.00 featuring President Wilson. Issued between Dec 18th, 1934 and January 9th, 1935. Issued by the Treasurer of the US to Federal Reserve banks only against an equal amount of gold bullion held by the treasury.

They were only for official transactions between Federal Reserve Banks and were not circulated among the general public.

Yeah this dipshit troll is full of it. I have a twitter to talk to and follow precisely one person for non political reasons. I will also look at tweets from others. It would at times have Trump in the recommendations. Twitter seems like it has four recommendation settings. "Popular" which is where you get the celebrities and singers. "Regional" which based on my location I would get recommended to follow the sports teams in my state. "Similar" which would be similar people to those you are already following. And then their is "previous viewed" which is why I would get Trump recommended to me and maybe some others.

I just looked right now and the political name recommendations are pretty much exact to what ace lists. All liberals.

I spent a lot of time researching why it is so hard to poll in PA. There are some counties that are very important to get samples from, such as Greene and Monroe, that are rarely polled.

If we have two showing a Biden lead within the MOE, that is a very good sign.

It ain't over by any stretch, but Trump winning in PA looks certainly possible and maybe probable.

It feels like the higher ups realized that polling was doing it wrong a couple of months ago, right about the time Democrats had the quick pivot away from riots and they dropped from the news.

It felt like they suddenly fixed something in their models, probably lowering black turnout and raising non-college educated white turnout, and realized that they were looking into the abyss.

That was about the time that their swagger disappeared.

527 I highly recommend two shows from a dude named Steve Conrad, a name everyone should honestly know by now.

One is Patriot, and the other is Perpetual Grace.

They are both relatively slow dramatic burns in the Coen (?) mold. I am not a Coen fan but I can see the influence especially in the quirkiness of the comedy.

Both shows are precise, fun, well acted, well shot, well styled, with incredibly drawn characters who all seem to have a life of their own. You can tell he has been inside his characters heads, and knows every possible thing about them.

Neither show is remotely political/sjw in nature. They touch on a couple hot button things but only as part of the story. I detect no lecturing or condescension. The purpose of the story is the story. Refreshing!

549 Lady in front of me got the green light and started to go. About halfway thru the intersection she got t-boned. Hard. Idiot coming down 291 ran a red light. I was right behind her. That could have been me. I"m still shaking.
--------------------------------

A number of years ago now, I was the designated driver before we had a term for that. Anyway, end of the night, I was the only sober one in the crowd, so drove a friend's car with a couple of us in it.

I'm in the right lane, and there's a truck in the lane to my left. Truck starts racing me, we go back and forth, slamming on brakes at red lights, and squealing tires as we take off on the green.

At the next red light, once it turns green, the truck doesn't move. No revving up, nothing. Just sits there. I can see the intersection to my right, but I cannot see anything to my left. So I sat there, wondering why we were both sitting there.

All of a sudden, a car goes FLYING through the intersection from my left. Must have been doing 60mph easily on a 35 mph road. This took just seconds from the light turning green to the car running its red light. I would have been T-boned and probably killed instantly, the car would have hit my side of the car.

I could barely drive the rest of the way, I was shaking so badly. Everyone else in my car was passed out and had no idea what we had just dodged.

I hope the lady in the green car survives and thrives. These things happen in the blink of an eye.

When relief agencies, with the help of the U.S. military first started moving food into Somalia, whenever that was, the first approach they took was to air drop food into a field outside a village.

Residents of one village heard this was about to happen so they rushed out into the field to catch 50 pound bags of grain and whatever else. People were, of course, badly injured or killed.

Horrifying but my first thought was the WKRP Thanksgiving episode.
