The Consequences of Election Fraud - What If LBJ Hadn't Stolen the 1948 Texas Senate Election [Buck Throckmorton]

200 fraudulent ballots in 1948 changed the course of 20th Century history. We cannot let election fraud in 2020 do the same to the 21st Century.

In the 1948 Texas Democratic Senate primary, Lyndon Johnson (“LBJ” came up just short in his race against Coke Stevenson, trailing by less than 150 votes after all the ballots were counted. But six days after the election, the local political boss in Duval County produced 202 more ballots that had been “found.” Exactly 200 of them voted for LBJ, in alphabetic order, and with the same handwriting on the tally sheet that voters had to sign. LBJ won the election by 87 votes. Texas was still a one-party state in 1948, so winning the Democratic primary meant LBJ went to the US Senate in 1949.

What if Coke Stevenson had not been cheated out of his Senate victory? How different might history be if LBJ hadn’t become a Senator?

There would have been no Kennedy-Johnson ticket in 1960 without Senator Johnson. LBJ had become the powerful Senate Majority Leader during the 1950s. Because Texas had voted for the GOP presidential candidate (Eisenhower) in both 1952 and 1956, Kennedy picked LBJ to try to bring Texas back in to the Democrat column. Without LBJ, would there have been a President Kennedy? Without a President Kennedy how different would history be?

What if Richard Nixon had carried a Johnson-less Texas in the 1960 presidential race, defeating JFK and becoming President? There would have been no JFK assassination. And with Nixon stepping down from the presidency in 1965 or 1969, there would also not have been a Watergate in 1973.

More importantly, without a Senator Johnson in 1949 there never would have been a President Johnson from 1963 to 1969. Perhaps the awful damage done to this country by President Johnson could have been avoided.

The civil rights movement started during the Eisenhower administration, and it was gaining momentum when LBJ became President. Just when black Americans were finally escaping the government-mandated poverty of legal segregation, LBJ rushed through the Great Society to keep blacks dependent and poor, destroying the black family in the process. Without LBJ’s poisonous welfare policies, how different might things be today?

How about Vietnam? How different might history have played out if Richard Nixon was Commander in Chief in the 1960s?

Without the Kennedy assassination and Vietnam, how different might the 1960s have been culturally?

Without Watergate in 1973, we likely wouldn’t have had President Carter’s disastrous presidency. Of course, without President Carter we probably wouldn’t have elected President Reagan. But, without President Carter we may not have needed a President Reagan.

The mail-in ballot debacle of 2020 is for the purpose of sowing confusion. Democrats want to harvest as many ballots post-election as are needed to change the results of ballots cast at the ballot box. I will accept the results of election day. I will not accept my candidates losing after ballots continue to be found after the election. 200 fraudulent ballots in 1948 allowed “Landslide Lyndon” the opportunity to cause so much lasting damage to this country. We cannot let it happen again in 2020.

35 Willowed: The reason why the Hunter Biden stuff was held this long is that they had to wait for the actual ballots to go out.

If it had gone out earlier, the Dems would have attempted to "Toricelli Option" and switched out candidates.

Harder to do that now with millions of ballots already in.

I know, I know, maybe some of those would have switched, but I doubt it. These are hard-core Dems would vote for whatever name was given them.

What this will do is crush late-deciders and drive up GOP turnout.

"Machine" politics has created a lot of bad politicians.

Maching politics in Chicago kept The Daley's in power for decades. And old man Daley and his machine did their best in making sure Cook County and Illinois went for Kennedy in 1960.
Lyndon Johnson, was, in my opinion, a lot worse that either Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama.

He set in motion policies (with the help of his congressional Democrat majorities) that did change the course of this country from that decade. And he did escalate in Viet Nam.
Matt Ridgeway warned Eisenhower how much manpower a true escalation would cost in the mid -1950's, and so Ike avoided that. Lyndon, though, proved him right.

The 1960's under Lyndon. Guns and butter. Always a proven Democrat formula for distributing the wealth.

Presumably the inability to find a compromise candidate would've meant a Republican defeat in that election(the two guys with the most support divided the radical and conservative wings of the party). So the war delays 4 years. The treatment in the aftermath is more ambiguous, Lincoln did favor a much more lenient approach but it's not impossible that some theoretical alternative would have been similar, or very different.

The new ballots were logged and witnessed, which is why people noted the alphabetic order. Stephenson wanted to challenge - the disputed ballots were ordered held in a small wooden country church which was tightly locked up, until they could be examined more closely. Just before that examination began, that small country church caught fire in the middle of the night and burned to the ground, and all of the Mystery Ballots with it. With no more evidence, there was no more challenge, and Johnson was the winner. He literally burned down a church to do it.

I agree. However, I think the more pertinent question is not whetherwe will allow it to happen, but whether the GOP will allow it to happen. We've seen how much they despise Trump and do everything in their power to block and deny him. They would be overjoyed at mail-in cheating, because, like Pilate, someone else did the dirty work of getting rid of Trump while they kept their hands clean.

And if, may God forbid, the election ended up in the House, do you honestly think the GOP would hand the Oval Office to Trump? Never. The death threats, bribes and intimidation doled out to the representatives would be epic.

We want Trump to win. The GOP does not. In the immortal words of Boss Tweed, "What are you going to do about it?"

They use what works, because it sure has in the past and it always follows the same pattern. "Found" ballots after tallies are in, and they always always always favor the Democrat nearly 100%. Look at CA in 2018. Numerous elections were won by the R, only for ballots to keep coming in well after the initial counting, flipping all of those wins. All.

208 154 the common red thread ... without the Soviets (Russia) interfering/infiltrating our politics, many things would be different. The Naked Communist (book) revealed the plan, Paul Harvey talked about that plan as well ("if I were Satan, I'd keep doing what I've been doing") ... But whether Satan, Commies, or Democrats ... they have tearing the fabric of America as their tactic for control.

At some point DeepState (globalists) became their own entity, or Hydra with many heads. They (CIA chiefly?) got rid of Kennedy (?) since he wanted to break them in a thousand pieces. Nixon won in a landslide, they got rid of him (with media leading the charge). Reagan renewed America in many ways, but started the deficit spending debt cycle. Bushies/Clintons/Obama took us down the primrose path to socialism/communsim/globalism.
Posted by: illiniwek at October 16, 2020 05:14 PM (Cus5s)

Court nobility typically exhibit certain traits repeatedly across history. One of which is a tendency towards globalism, or something like globalism. It's how things like a "lingua franca" come to exist. They're basically a separate social class which have more in common with the nobles of other courts than they do rural nobles or their countrymen.

Certain conditions tend to foster certain types of sin. One can't very well live like Hunter Biden without the opportunity to live like Hunter Biden. Like then clings to like, and they encourage this behavior in one another. So we see depraved court elites emerge time and time again, followed by the collapse of the current iteration of a country.

239 There was another notable LBJ scandal that Texas Monthly wrote about some years ago, don't know if Caro ever touched on it. I'll go off memory since I don't have time to look it up, but I remember it pretty well. (some details might be off)

In the early 60's, Texas was home to a notorious and flamboyant swindler, Billy Sol Estes. He was a fantastic conman, came out of nowhere using non-existent oil fields he talked himself into millions of dollars, before his empire collapsed. It was always claimed that he got away with so much because he had the support of a number of big name Texas politicians, who were well paid off by him.

One of the first men to really figure out what he was up to was a Texas agricultural agency officer, who realized that nothing was adding up. He early on tied Billy Sol to LBJ, and started pursuing him hard. Then suddenly, he was found dead.
At the Same Time, LBJ had managed to install one of his personal cronies and bodyguards high up in the Texas Rangers. Since he had such political pull, he was given sole authority over the investigation into this death.

The ag agent had been shot 4 times at close range with a high powered rifle. LBJ's hand picked man investigated it, and officially pronounced it the Worst Case of Suicide that he had ever seen. And that was the end of it. Billy Sol Estes was hustled off to jail on fraud charges, and seeing what happened to people who didn't do what they were told, he never said anything about who he had been paying off.

This all happened, btw, one year before JFK was shot in Dallas.

The way I see it, there are large pressures that build up, and the Great Men are unusual figures who can alter the course of things. Oftentimes it takes a few of them(when you look closely at it, it's not just Alexander the Great, it's also his father, it's not just Caesar, it's also his political allies, not just Scipio, but Marcellus and Fabius as well). Killing them also tends to alter things. On a more localized scale, the current Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia is likely to alter the course of their country, or die in the attempt.

328 LBJ had a mean streak. There has to be more than one skeleton in his closet.
S'funny...when I think of LBJ all I can remember is him flashing an abdominal scar and picking dogs up by the ears.
Despicable POS.

President Trump has delivered for Black Americans!

He created UNPRECEDENTED economic opportunity, closed the wage gap, and passed the First Step Act to unwind the legacy of mass incarceration.

Oh, the Beatles would still have formed, and might well have come to the U.S. and sold a lot of records. The phenomenon that we think of as the Beatles might not have happened, though -- or they might have had a solid 5-year pop career and then faded.

334 I LOVE history hypotheticals.

I just found out recently that Abraham Lincoln had almost joined the Donner party, but changed his mind. How different would history be if he had joined them and then frozen to death?

Half this country has gone full-Orwell. Pro-life is "hateful" because it speaks to deny someone access to "healthcare".

=======

The alma mater of me and the Mrs. not surprised. They want to think they can measure up to U. of Iowa. Even when I was there, the student-run (but not official UNI student newspaper) conservative paper would often end up in trash bins as soon as they were dropped off in front of buildings. Because, you know, freedom of expression.

Used to be a catholic student center right across the street from campus. Wonder if they've managed to close that down yet.

Nah, that can't be right. I just saw a Vaseline commercial of a pregnant black mom talking to her unborn baby about how racist America is.

She had BLM written on her bare belly, so serious.

That's propaganda. Once in 7 years they DO something about it, but the head of steam has been building all that time.

Spock even says so in the Cloud Minders: 'Exceptional Feminine beauty is always disturbing"

342 The same of Barack Obama.

If Jerry Ryan hadn't have nuked her husband's senate race, which allowed Obama to run against a fill in (Alan Keyes) he never would have been a Senator.

The pattern and the problem is that Democrats are repeatedly rewarded for cheating. The better question would be what if Republicans fought back and won?

347 I'm from MO. We elected a dead guy, Mel Carnahan to the Senate. Somehow, some fcuking way his *widow*, Jean Carnahan, was allowed to serve 2 years of his term, despite not being on the ballot. His retard son tried to run years later, and got spat out.

353 Without Carter, would we be further with nuclear power plants, with designs that were safer and reused current 'waste' (thus becoming MUCH more efficient)?

And Iran might have been a different situation, what with the dithering mush from the wimp.

Also, agreed that, though we might not have gotten Reagan, we probably wouldn't have needed him. There's probably strong parallels to Trump - At this point, we really needed a Trump after a weak president who emboldened our enemies. The same exact ones in fact, considering Iran.
