The bill would set up a commission to assess the president's ability to lead the country and ensure a continuity of government. It comes one year after Pelosi’s House launched impeachment proceedings against Trump. If passed by a 2/3 vote in both houses, the 25th Amendment would allow for the vice president to become acting president after it was determined that the president was "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." Pelosi, who has raised questions about Trump’s mental fitness for years, has lately used the president’s COVID-19 diagnosis to question his health and his behavior.Nancy Pelosi began wearing masks when delivering press statements for the first time ever, following Trump's covid diagnosis. Making more political theater. Deb Heine notes that during this latest oral fart from the Red Queen, her masks slipped down -- literally. It fell below her nose for almost he entire statement. Rendering it useless for the purpose she claims to be wearing it for (that is, it does not protect against disease when it's not covering the nose). This is yet another #MuhNormz shattering proposal from the communists. The Constitution has already created a "process" for this -- the 25th Amendment itself spells out the process. The Vice President initiates the process of removing a president due to incapacity, which triggers a vote by all cabinet officials. There is literally no room for the House to have any role. The Constitution has already addressed this. You cannot repeal or modify a part of the Constitution with legislation, but only a new constitutional amendment. If you can't add new requirements for holding federal office -- as was ruled was the case when term limits were struck down as unconstitutional -- you cannot give Nancy Pelosi a Single Vote Coup power over the sitting president. It's unseemly that this nasty old bitch is trying to grant herself the power to appoint herself as President -- after all, she just needs to get rid of Trump and then Pence -- and if you've done a partial coup, might as well do the whole thing -- and then she's president. It should also be noted that given that Nancy Pelosi is part of the presidential succession -- third in line -- that she should be subject to a panel determining her physical and mental health. She slurs a lot of words. A lot of words. That's a sign of dementia. Maybe she needs to be removed. She added that this bullshit joke she was proposing wasn't about Trump:

I noticed something interesting, maybe I just hadn't noticed before, but a lot of polling centers this year are at churches.
A TON of them actually, and churches I know are conservative too. I think WHERE you vote in person is really important too. I'm going to check with the conservative politically active locals to see if there's a particular polling center I can go to that I know isn't going to fuck around with my ballot.

No, you can't amend an amendment via legislation.
To change the wording of the 25th amendment (VP needs to initiate, majority of cabinet needs to approve, then they notify House & Senate that VP has assumed power), you'd need to pass another amendment.

To change the wording of the 25th amendment (VP needs to initiate, majority of cabinet needs to approve, then they notify House & Senate that VP has assumed power), you'd need to pass another amendment.

The amendment specifically says it doesn't have to be the cabinet. Instead it says it has to be the VP and a majority of the cabinet, OR some other body that Congress specifies by law.

There's a lot of hate on the left. No doubt, it's plenty to motivate voters. But, that's a very small percentage. In my area? Sure, people hate Trump. But are they angry enough to consider him over Joe? Or are they going to find something else to do Tuesday?

I agree with you that it would be nice for Trump to be able to do so. The problem is the Constitution does allow for such a commission to be created regarding the president, but nowhere in the Constitution allow the president to do so for congress.
Of course, the Constitution doesn't say that congress gets the only say in the president's ability to discharge his duties. The VP still has to agree with the commission's recommendation. That's where Nanzi's effort goes off the rails.

The "other such body as Congress may by law provide" is in there. That would allow Congress, by law, to set up another "body" to "trigger" the 2/3 vote in Congress, but the Vice President still has to initiate it.
Note how high a burden the 25th sets. The Vice-President (of the same party and ticket) must initiate. Then the cabinet (or other body...) must agree. And then, 2/3 of both houses of Congress must agree. And then, and only then, can the VP assume the powers against the President's will.

I agree. There are three hurdles the remove Biden squad must get over, though.
1. Winning a majority in the Senate.
2. Getting Joe to sign the commission establishment bill to make it a law.
3. If Joe refuses to go after Kamala and the Cabinet or a commission declare him unfit, ultimately a two-thirds majority in the House and Senate must vote to remove Joe and install Kamala as Acting President.
Getting a two-thirds vote in the Senate next year is probably impossible, even with a small Dem Senate majority. Schumer will have to get 15 or so Republicans to vote to make Kamala the President.
Looks like the easiest and fastest way to get Joe out of the way is either a fatal disease or a fatal accident. IYKWIM.

Nancy is the living embodiment of the phrase "this is how you get more Trump."
I was a reluctant Trump voter in 2016.
Having lived through the Clinton years in the 90s (my pre-teen and early teenage years), I was raised on Rush and Newt, and grew up with good clean disdain for Hillary.
It was easy to vote against her, but I wasn't about to tell people I was voting for that orange boob. I basically decided that Trump would be a terrible President, that the liberals in congress who schmooze him, get in his ear, and convince him to do everything they wanted.
I was not happy about it, but I decided I would rather enjoy one night of Hillary crying than four years of her cackling.
Four years later, I will crawl over broken glass and there's not a democrat or republican who could run that would enthuse me as much as Trump. He's not perfect, but he's good enough as a conservative and, added to that, he punches back and isn't afraid to point at the liberals and say "these guys are idiots, we all know it, I'm just willing to say it."
Trump is the closest I'll get to my childhood hero Rush Limbaugh winning the White House.
Four more years for life, baby.

You are right about the initial risk to Biden with no or few Cabinet members. The 25th says VP plus majority of principal officers of executive departments. No definition is given for "principal officers of executive departments," so this requirement is open to interpretation.
Ultimately, a Joe refusing to go is protected by the requirement for two-thirds of both Houses to agree he is unfit. Getting there is not likely with next year's House and Senate.

The 25th Amendment Acting President situation is another incomplete, confounding, and frustrating part of the Constitution. Can the elected President ever regain the office after removal for unfitness by 2/3 votes in House and Senate? In Canada up to the 1980s when the Americanism "couch" took over, sofas were called "chesterfields" I assume from a furniture style made for the English noble family. They probably all have design differences, thus the different names, but funny how terms go out of common usage.
BTW, I just watched a Brit Antiques Roadshow where the star item was a French automaton about 3' tall of an arabesque woman snake-charmer based on a real performer at the Folies Bergere that was one of just 15 then known (so number 16) and valued at 40-60,000 pounds sterling!
