A 3-judge panel had ruled (2-1) against Sullivan and told him to dismiss the case already, but the entire court (composed of mostly Dims) said no, we have to let the trial judge make his decision on the DOJ's dismissal motion. If he f*cks that up, then we can order him to dismiss it, but we must give him the benefit of the doubt and let him make his decision before we tell him it's wrong.

Respectfully, I disagree. I think Trump was the weakest candidate in the race (or at least among them -- he was probably better than all of the ones at the kiddie table). He had lackluster Republican support, because he had no conservative track record and his New York mannerisms did not go down well in flyover country and the South. (His stature has grown enormously in the meantime as he has produced amazing results, I might add, but none of that was in the mix in 2016.) He was saved by the fact that Hillary was such an awful candidate and she was, well, Hillary, and millions could be easily persuaded to vote against her. But I think any of the major GOP candidates could have beaten Hillary, even low-energy Jeb.
