Joey is a rescued sea otter pup.
He was rescued at just fourteen days old. Here's one of his first feedings. Here he is being trained to float in water. Even though he's a sea otter, he didn't like water for a while. Later, he got the hang of it: Joey plays with his toys, while floating on his back. As one does. After learning to just float and not be scared of the water, his rescuers began teaching him to swim. Joey wiggles to help you towel him off. Joey now swims around in his great big enclosure. Live Joeycam here. Truth.
It goes back to the early 1900s when a German physician felt that it would help prevent the spread of TB. Why masks are so prevalent in operating rooms is because it is relatively cheap way to feign infection control measures.
Some of the take-aways from those papers on masks (and the University of Minnesota surveyed over fifty of those documents and provided a summary back in April) is that it is the result of bureaucracy.
For example, Medicare doesn't pay hospitals for a covered patient who returns within 30 days due to an infection, so panic ensues and they form epidemiology teams to come up with ways to reduce infection.
The mask, shoe coverings, wrapping briefcases in trashbags while in the operating room (as if the trashbag is magically sterile); even tucking in the top of scrubs into the waistband because they were worried that dead skin cells we always generate would fall out and somehow get into the patient.
There was a supervisor whose responsibility to enforce these measures caught an ER nurse rushing out to get some specialized equipment for a cardiac arrest and he stopped to scold her for not having her shirt tucked in. Meanwhile the patient is dying.
What happens is clueless people are given orders to come up with something, no matter how stupid and pointless it is because "SOMEBODY [else] DO SOMETHING".
So stupid stuff comes out and becomes legacy action.

Tom, Logan Ohio has a grand total of 7,000 residents. It's located in a poor rural southeastern section of Ohio . The school system is following regulations required by the State of Ohio to host spectators at it's outdoor sports venues. The guy is the school resource officer who was asked to work the game for security.
That area of Ohio has a terrible meth problem, along with various other crimes that result from poverty, broken families, teenage mothers and no jobs. The Craigslist killings about a decade ago occurred within 20 miles of the area, and so did the meth house murders about five or six years ago, when a family was killed in two different locations, including children.
I grew up about 60 miles from Logan in Southeastern Ohio myself. Our coaches and bus drivers used to kick the asses of unruly, disobedient kids and no one thought anything of it. You NEVER found parents acting like total assholes in front of kids like you do today. No one would have tolerated it and they would have been shunned. And we didn't have the widespread issues with crime, assault, and absolute disregard for authority we have today.
This woman was tazed NOT because she wouldn't wear a mask but because she put it in her pocket after using it to get in, then not only refused to put it back on, but refused to leave and she started fighting with the cop who then tazed her ass. I can't think of a single mother back when I was in HS ( this was a junior high game) who would have done such a thing. It's no wonder we have 15 year old girls twerking and flipping off adults at events. 17 year old teenagers at Antifa events screaming at cops and lighting fires and breaking windows. Hell, they are just protesting and doing civil disobedience, right?
So today, the school received threats over this incidence, that were severe enough they had to lock it down. Calls for protesting went unheeded, except for four or five people who held up signs supporting the cop. Because the locals know what they are up against in their community and they don't want to see what few police they have fired over this.
People seem to think I'm some kind of Karen over this which is incorrect. It's pointless to require people to wear masks in an open air stadium with limited attendance. But it's not the schools rule, or the town's rule, it's the state who can shut the entire thing down on Friday because it's a public school funded in part by the State of Ohio. It's easy to sit at a computer and fire up comments to sue some school resource officer carrying out his duty and some little bitty town trying to cope with pandemic rules, but the fault lies with DeWine's Health officials. Direct the vitriol at them .

Logan's income in large part comes from tourism. The LPD destroyed that. Whether or not they acted completely within the law.

Dan Crenshaw knows PR, finally someone who understands it! So we need to keep him on our side. Yeah I disagree with his stand on red flag laws - but Trump wasn't always on our side either. We need talent.
