The President Extends his Actions against CRT

After President Trump's Constitution Day speech last week which blasted Critical Race Theory as "ideological poison", Christopher F. Rufo, who has revealed many of the poisonous effects of CRT training, took another victory lap this week. President Trump has extended his actions against CRT to contractors with the Federal Government.

Rufo was amazed by the President's new order. Some people have been very upset by the President's actions, others have been very pleased. Some have even had some fun:

If you follow Rufo's Tweet, it explains what the executive order does. I think this is key:

The executive order also opens the legal floodgates: the President instructs the Attorney General to assess whether critical race theory trainings create a "hostile work environment" and constitute a violation of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.

Sue these people who make employees suffer because of their skin color, or who try to force employees into cadres of Critical Race Theory advocates!

Reaching Out to the Left

Many on the Left are characterizing the President's actions as "censorship" and as an appeal to culturally conservative white voters.

Is Critical Race Theory Naturally Totalitarian?

James Lindsay (above) has just co-authored a book on Critical Race Theory and related "Woke" theories. It gets into the weeds of how these theories developed in academia, from Marxism through Postmodernism, etc. It is a thorough treatment. We've discussed it before. People have been thinking about this issue.

I lost track of my favorite. Maybe it was deleted. Something like Marx and Hitler had a baby. Doesn't fit every CRT theorist, but fits the writings of some of them pretty well. Particularly in the sense that white people can never be redeemed from their racist natures, sort of like for Hitler, Jewish people could never be redeemed.

I thought this was an intriguing segment (with some emphasis added a little further down):

The Race Crits were a more racially-focused aspect of the Law Crits, and decided the focus of the state on human rights was actually the barrier to the change they want to see. Human rights protect property and white people, they are the very thing that prevents revolution.

Now, hold on just a dang minute! My woke friends are always chanting things like, "Women's rights are human rights". Now he's telling us that Critical Race Theory was deliberately devised to deprive people of human rights?

Impossible!

Not being racist is itself a form of racial consciousness (from white people), according to Critical Race Theory. Not being race conscious (and treating people as individuals) is therefore a form of racism.

The problem is that politicised "race consciousness" is actually exactly what made the Nazis do evil, and what we vowed would never happen again. We have various other aspects that bind us together in multiracial societies, we should adopt them, such as the American identity.
Our decision to not be racist is a political choice against Nazis and Critical Race Theorists, according to both of them.

Wait: when CRT activists tell us that being non-racist is bad and that we must be actively anti-racist, they're telling us to think about race all the time like the Nazis did? Only maybe with better motives and goals, defined by them?

Just trust them. Do what they tell you to do. Remember that they did some great things at CHAZ/CHOP. Chanted about a guillotine. Set up a white-free zone for People of Color, with borders enforced by white people. Two young black men killed and a few more shot. It was the fault of the police, because it was a police-free zone.

So if the liberal state refuses to be racist, with force, what are your options? Well, the most obvious choice is subversion, as Crenshaw (the lady who coined the term "intersectionality") tells us on page 1 of her foreword.
The CRTs literally want Nazism for non-white people, which I think will lead to a dramatic increase in the popularity of Nazism among white people. I think this would be a bad thing, so I advise against mainstreaming Nazism for any race.

Well, that's a bold statement.

But go ahead. Reject Nazism. Reject Marxism. Reject Critical Race Theory. Treat people like individuals. Don't think about race all the time. Sounds good to me.

Marcuse, Horkheimer, Adorno, Gramisci et al, individuals most people have never heard of, had an extraordinary effect on America and it continues to this very day. That's the genesis of the Unpleasantness we're witnessing right now. It took almost 100 years, but they have been very thorough about what they set out to do.

I'm encouraged, sort of, at least this is at least being talked about publicly. I've tried explaining this in years past, and it is a bit complicated because it doesn't lend itself to soundbite explanations, and it is some real mind fvckery of the worst sort. Certainly back in the late 60's, when Ayers or even Manson were angling for a race war - there was no way whitey could be a part of movements such as the black panthers. At best, the managed uneasy truces to achieve similar goals. But at the end of the day, they knew they'd have to be at each other's throats.

How on earth did whites manage to work their way into what should be an exclusively black movement? But here we are, with white kids blowing shit up and living vicariously as black people. I think one of the problems is that *nobody* knows what's what outside of the ability to fix reference points. When they get you unmoored from your reference points "Science is RACIST", they can turn you upside down.

Add to that, that the most common reference point the average person has is the reactions of other people. And that is the default for youngsters.

Teens have started to unmoor themselves from their parents assurances, moving into the world of adults and do not have fixed points in the adult world necessarily. So they look to their peers who are going through the same process.

It is really easy to get people turned around. And then they come out of college and influence adults who want to stay hip and current or have some gripe with the current system....

Myself, I struggled a long time to find my moorings. And so I understand, that quite a lot people *just have* moorings. They haven't necessarily put a lot of thought into it.

Back in the day, I worked on turnkey graphics systems (early 80's) Barco monitors. Little tiny things that were 20" deep, maybe more.

The damn things would give you a tan after a few hours. Honestly, I have no idea how I've gone this long without needing glasses. The refresh rate on those old things was what, 60Hz? So the thing is strobing away, you could cook an egg on top and enough radiation to keep your coffee warm next to the keyboard.

Add to that, that the most common reference point the average person has is the reactions of other people. And that is the default for youngsters.

Obama did stuff Nixon only talked about doing, but one is corruption personified and the other is "scandal free". Why? Because academia and the news acted as if nothing Obama did was a big deal and people took their cues from that.

Same thing with Hillary and the left. If you talk about how she handled classified information, they sneer, "but hER EmAilS" at you. It doesn't matter that she got people killed. It doesn't matter that several nations were reading those emails from her poorly secured server. People acted as if it wasn't a big deal, so the public yawned.

I'm reminded of the "arguments" of Charlie Manson. If you tried to reference God, the Bible, philosophers, or any other mooring point when arguing with him, his immediate response was to claim he was that mooring point. "I am God, I am the Bible, I am philosophy, etc." When you consider that he attracted teenagers who were questioning everything (primed for unmooring) who hadn't found what they needed elsewhere, it's not hard to see how he manipulated them.

Academia does the same crap, only in a more sophisticated way. They insert their authority and moorings as replacement for the traditional ones kids used to grow up with.

She wrote an opinion where she dissented regarding a convicted felons gun rights. It was a weed possession charge. Her basis was that, to remove the 2A rights, a man has to be shown to be dangerous - not just breaking the law as written.

I have about 50 folding knives and I use them all--I really only have couple of safe queens. For EDC I keep coming back to my Ontario Rat. I'm not sure why, but it seems like a near-perfect knife for me.

Indeed. It could be argued that this is precisely why liberals want "free college" for everyone whether or not they wan these people to learn the discipline of study.

College has become that first time an offspring is out on their own. Again they are clinging to their fellow travellers, their peers, and they are being introduced into a newer, and to some degree, more cajoling authority.

I mean some of this could be unconscious, because some of this started back when Buckley wrote God and Man at Yale (1959). But I guess it's always been the case that college is a critical, transitional, and transformational state.

And as they have begun using it, they have just found it more and more effective for turning out the desired product: people who think the way the elite want them to think.

Because the power to "transform other people's lives" which perhaps is the "good" side of what libs express as their motivation is also when mishandled the power to *control* other people's lives in changing yet others.

And the more resistance you receive in trying to "do good", the more you want to control those who you see as minimizing the "good" you are doing.

When it gets into the current feedback loop and becomes a bubble, it can't hear the outside world anymore and entrenches.

351 OT: got word protests are happening in the city where I live. So, I decided to take a look at the area where one of the protests is supposed to take place. I wanted to eyeball the area, looking for any signs that BLMantifa was pre-staging equipment. (supposedly, protesters were bused in last night. And, no, my wife wasn't any to happy that I decided to check out the area.

I kept a 1 block radius from the advertised site of the protest, and...nada to see, though it is early. It being early is why I decided to take a chance and look around a bit.

However, the trip wasn't a complete loss, because, as I headed downtown, I naturally got caught at a couple of stops lights, and was hemmed in by the cars around me.

Getting caught at the light wasn't the problem. However, the thought crossed my mind that, while being in a car, surrounded by a mob wasn't a big deal, what would be a big deal is getting hemmed in by a couple of cars, then being surrounded by a mob.

All it takes is a driver to freeze in front of one, and, watch out.

As I told my wife, I took the chance to look, once, and, that was enough.

I saw a piece on Ingraham, done by Raymond Arroyo (sp?) highlighting ACB. She grew up in the New Orleans area in a large Catholic family. They interviewed one of her sisters, and two friends that grew up with her and know her to this day. I think this interview is informative, because fellow New Orleans citizen Arroyo did the interviews. He talks "Narlins".

All of these people, all of them, told the Amy they know is very smart, social, kind, driven, and helpful. ACB is involved in her Church as a fellow parishioner. They kept giving examples of her intelligence and ability to quickly grasp complex ideas. They simply couldn't say anything about her.

As to her background of the nonsense the Left is smearing her with, well, look at what npr said about her background:

Barrett was raised in Metairie, La., a suburb of New Orleans. Her father, Mike, was an attorney for Shell Oil, and her mother was a stay-at-home mom.
