The Adverse Effects of Obama’s Executive Order 13583 and the Purge of Generals and Admirals Are Now Obvious Two disastrous actions taken by Barack Hussein Obama during his presidency have delivered extensive damage to the US military, just as planned. The first was the systematic purging of nearly 200 senior officers over five years and their subsequent replacement by Democrat loyalists, as reported here. His second ignominious action taken was the 2011 Executive Order 13583 directing “government-wide diversity and inclusion training,” which, by 2020, included the implementation of Marxist critical race theory training in all federal agencies including the US military services. The results from these actions are now crystal clear. Retired Obama-era flag and general officers (FOGO), in direct violation of Article 88 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, have publicly criticized President Trump and even called him a threat to US national security, as noted here and here. Several may even be preparing for a military coup, as reported in this shocking video from Col Richard H. Black, JAG Corps, USA (retd), a former head of the Army’s Criminal Law Division: You have nothing to fear, but fear itself and incompetent government. BIRM Thousands of North Carolina residents were recently told they had positive coronavirus tests, but it was a mistake. According to new data from the Rhodium Group analyzed by ProPublica and The New York Times Magazine, warming temperatures and changing rainfall will drive agriculture and temperate climates northward, while sea level rise will consume coastlines and dangerous levels of humidity will swamp the Mississippi River valley. Taken with other recent research showing that the most habitable climate in North America will shift northward and the incidence of large fires will increase across the country, this suggests that the climate crisis will profoundly interrupt the way we live and farm in the United States. See how the North American places where humans have lived for thousands of years will shift and what changes are in store for your county. A filmmaker has been arrested for allegedly recording a pornographic movie at the Osun Osogbo sacred grove in western Nigeria, police say. The world has failed to meet a single target to stem the destruction of wildlife and life-sustaining ecosystems in the last decade, according to a devastating new report from the UN on the state of nature. From tackling pollution to protecting coral reefs, the international community did not fully achieve any of the 20 Aichi biodiversity targets agreed in Japan in 2010 to slow the loss of the natural world. It is the second consecutive decade that governments have failed to meet targets. The Global Biodiversity Outlook 5, published before a key UN summit on the issue later this month, found that despite progress in some areas, natural habitats have continued to disappear, vast numbers of species remain threatened by extinction from human activities, and $500bn (£388bn) of environmentally damaging government subsidies have not been eliminated. The city government of Anaheim, California, has asked Gov. Gavin Newsom to issue regulations that allow Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen, after the lack of commerce brought a $100 million shortfall to public coffers. California’s theme parks have been closed since coronavirus restrictions began in March. While Florida’s Disney World reopened in July, its counterpart in California has remained closed, affecting the local economy throughout the region. Admin worker Hollie Hodges was enjoying a day in Weymouth, Dorset, with her husband Craig, 32, and their seven-year-old daughter Lola when they noticed the odd behaviour. Hollie, 34, recorded the footage on September 6 and said: ‘We were really shocked by what we saw. It was a really drunk gentleman on the beach being quite loud and weird. ‘Then he slept on the beach and he had sand all over his face and he was stumbling around looking a bit lost, so I started recording. A prosecutor comes to his senses, reluctantly. Tonight's Feel Good Story of The Day. While Mark and Patricia McCloskey are still facing felony charges in St. Louis for displaying firearms as hundreds of protesters marched through their private neighborhood earlier this summer, a man who pulled his gun on protesters in Gainesville, Florida earlier this summer has seen charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon dropped by prosecutors. 64-year old William John Connelly was originally charged with six counts of third-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, but the local prosecutor dropped the case earlier this month, telling police that there simply wasn’t enough evidence to proceed with the criminal charges. I'm about to read the one about Obama purging the conservative officers. In advance, I ask: can this be reversed? Posted by: Blonde Morticia at September 16, 2020 10:08 PM Reversed? Not really. You can fire the current group and promote new ones, though. I don't know how much of this is from Obama, or just changing demographics within the military as a whole. I was part of a senior group of officers in a small plains state National Guard discussing how the Guard could better respond to ongoing riots in the early days of the Furious George riots, and there was more than one officer recommending the Adjutant General (State Guard Commander) and Governor do a press event where they took a knee in solidarity with peaceful protesters. I respectfully said the idea would alienate a lot of military and law enforcement personnel, and that course of action was thankfully dropped. For those people who wonder how Portland could possibly do worse than Ted Wheeler, I give you Antifa Sarah Iannarone, his challenger in November.
A sample: In an Aug. 7 interview on KGW's Straight Talk, Iannarone repeatedly declined host Laural Porter's invitation to disavow property destruction at the nightly protests. "Peaceful protests, in my opinion, might not necessarily be moving the conversation forward," she told Porter. Iannarone says Porter didn't give her a chance to fully answer the question. The day after taping the show, she sent KGW a statement. "Criminal activity is illegal, and of course I don't condone it," she said in her follow-up. "What I'm focused on is ensuring police do not use violence and even lethal force against people who have done nothing wrong." Translation: of course she condones political violence, so long as it is directed at people she doesn't like. And my favorite: Iannarone and Brian Borrello, an artist on the Triangle project, sought restraining orders against each other in 2010. In court documents, Borrello accused Iannarone of spray-painting an image of "an ejaculating male penis with the words 'loose cannon' on my workplace door." Portland deserves her. https://tinyurl.com/y4hv3d3y Posted by: The ARC of History! at September 16, 2020 10:36 PM (I2/tG) 158

In order to forgive someone, it helps if that someone is wanting or is at least be capable of receiving it. From your description, it sounds as if the POS in question is not worthy of forgiveness, and is certainly not seeking it. And, by God, if this someone screwed over our troops, then he is evil and deserves the hell being unleashed on him. (I have a soft spot for those who defend and have defended our nation.) That being said, thank you for your service. I believe you have mentioned this situation before, and it is enraging. Please be sure the hatred that you have carried around all these years is not poisoning your life. Carry just enough of that burning ember to make it through your mission, and then let any excess hatred go like a butterfly on the breeze. Value wise, it's near impossible to beat a Mossberg 88. Don't know if they still make 'em, but that was a lot of kit for small money.
I'm oriented towards the classics, so mine are Remington 870s with 18.5 barrels, and genuine Remington magazine extensions. My plans are to add some tactical accessories to the bedside gun, such as a flashlight and side-saddle shell holder, but that's about it. I can aim a combat shotgun with just a simple bead sight just fine, because that's what I've practiced with for over 40 years. If I were going to "upgrade" the sights, I'd get a Remington slug-gun barrel in the same length, and replace it's Rifle Sights with a set of TruGlow fiber optic units. Those are pure hell good for being very fast and highly visible, and about as fail-safe as you could ask. Although I've seen fiber units fall out in heavy 3 gun competition use, that was only after several matches worth of many rounds and shotguns being rudely dumped into holding barrels and onto carpeted range-tables. Keep It Simple for me, is the watchword for any gun I've got set up to grab in the middle of the night from a deep sleep. _____________ Dennis Prager recently had an epiphany. He'd previously always said that the Left's moral compass was broken -- but now he realizes they never did have a moral compass (i.e., they don't divide the world and people into good vs. evil, as we all do). They have a class compass (rich vs. poor), a race compass (black vs. white), a sex/gender compass (male vs. female vs. 57 mental illnesses), and most importantly a power compass (oppressor vs. oppressed). Conclusion: doing evil in the name of whatever they define as "social justice" is justified. Posted by: ShainS at September 16, 2020 11:21 PM (WqPYg) 306

The web site requests a particular character set, and requires a different character set. So the safest thing to do is always use no special symbols. That includes using only straight quotes, no curlies. ObPlug: I have a script for this in my book, although you'd have to buy something like Pythonista to run it on an iPad. (Which I do.) Simple solution, though, is just avoid curly quotes. Hold down the apostrophe button and choose the one that is straight vertical. AOP. The reason that the Judge and the Governor type revolvers are held in such LOW esteem, is this:
Both feature at least partially rifled barrels. If they were pure smoothbores, they would be illegal shotguns with sub 18.5 in. barrels and sub Overall Length, under the National Firearms Act (NFA '34). So, that rifling. Just flat out turns the .410 shotshell into a 5 yard weapon, and 10 yards is going to see some of the pellets simply miss the target. Even a proper Riot Gun has a Cylinder Bore "choke". That is where the bore at the muzzle is the same diameter as the bore at the chamber mouth. Sporting shotguns narrow the bore at the last 3" or so at the muzzle, concentrating the shot column, so that the shooter can "pattern" game further from the muzzle. Conversely, a "rifled" shotgun is the modern, LESS USEFUL version of the "duckbill" muzzleloading shotgun, of sailing-era fame. At least the Duckbill had a horizontal spread. The Judge/Governors spread it out like the flare of a trumpet, damn near instantly upon clearing the barrel. The vaunted website Box of Truth delves deeply into these matters, and is recommended. The problem with 410/45 long foot guns is the rifling. Rifling spreads shot. A rifled shotgun patterns horrible. Better to have a dedicated gun. 410 will work better in a smooth bore. 45 long colt needs rifiling.
Up close it might make sense. Real close. Mossberg 930s are inexpensive and reliable. My son owns one. Great gun. Cycles anything. You can get a shorter barrel. Posted by: USNtakim at September 17, 2020 12:15 AM (0OmEj) 395

..I have a Remington Versamax in 12 ga. It's gas operated using graduated porting. Love the gun. Little difference in recoil between 3.5" BBB and 2.75" No. 8 birdshot. But, I dont think it's in the bargain price range.
Posted by: Okie Infidel at September 17, 2020 12:16 AM (Pc+1u) I've heard nothing but greatness about that system. When does the patent expire? There's no shotgun that Stoeger can't make with decent quality at 1/3 to 1/2 the price of the real thing. Jim Sunk New Dawn Galveston, TX Posted by: Jim at September 17, 2020 12:20 AM (QzJWU) 401
Jim Sunk New Dawn Galveston, TX Posted by: Jim at September 17, 2020 12:11 AM (QzJWU) My counterpoint to that is: the intended use of such a pistol is nightstand gun for home defense. Few rooms are more than 5 yards across. You might see 10 yards down a long hallway. If a few pellets miss the target, the others won't. And you can always rotate the cylinder around to one of the .45 rounds. But, revolver. Simple, point and shoot. Don't have to rack a slide. And small enough it can be concealed in a hidden compartment of the bed headboard, so that children in the home cannot find it. Or casual burglars, while you are away. I read two of the Box O'Truth articles on the Judge, both the 2.5" and 3" models. Both have very short barrels; essentially they are snubbies. This is why I suggested that a six to nine inch barrel would be better. Also, he says that rifling messes up the shot pattern. Elsewhere, he says, since the shot stays in the shot cup until it exits the barrel, that the shot won't lead-foul the rifling. Which would sort of imply that the rifling imparts spin to the shot cup, which in turn causes it to spew the small shot out by centrifugal force. Seems to me the buckshot and slug rounds would not be so affected. Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at September 17, 2020 12:48 AM (JCLg4) 438

My condo is "shotgun" style (pun not intended). I know that crossbows can't be left loaded for long periods of time, but, but, if the stew looks like it's about to hit the fan, you could load them for a few hours. Ok, so what if I retrofit my condo to put in in-wall crossbows at the end of the main hallway? Ideally, you'd have several and they'd be remote controllable. You could also rig a portable battery of several more crossbows, load them, and send them out to the hallway by remote control. Ideally, you'd have two and a second person loading/controlling that one so there's minimal lag time. I'm cool with biodegradable-upon-contact-with-blood bolts so that they can't be retrieved and used against you (and that Green virtue signalling gives it a nice bonus).

I was playing around with my new well water system today, just noticing some interesting things. I told the plumber to put me a 1" fitting on the main inlet before the shut-off so I could put in local bladder tank right there in the garage. He'd heard of that, but wondered why. I've got a little over 600' of 1" pipe from the well head to the temporary spigot down at the new house site. When I hook the house on to it, that will add another 80' or so to it. So call it about 700' total of 1" line. There is a noticeable inertial pressure drop at the end of that 600' when you throw the ball valve spigot open. There is a mass of water in that pipe, about 24 gallons for 600' of 1" pipe that has to accelerate up to equilibrium speed. That causes a noticeable pressure drop -- less than a second time, but you can see it nicely. And that is one of the reasons a pressure tank, acting as an accumulator at the end of a long run of pipe can help. On the flip side, when you shut that flow of water off rapidly, you've got that mass of water moving, which then has to stop on a dime. This causes a pressure surge, and is the cause of water hammer. The pressure tank on the end will absorb and damp that out. Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at September 17, 2020 01:41 AM (rCwaK) 511

Those inertial effects, with the water flow starting and stopping are a function of the velocity and density of the fluid. So, with a given flow, it will be worse with smaller pipe. I've seen it much worse with a long run of 3/4" pipe on some old well systems, which was undersized for the length. 1" will handle 10GPM just fine for that length (head pressure, the house being down hill from the well head, will just about make up for the flow drop, roughly). But those inertial effects are still noticeable. This stuff fascinates me to no end. My Flxible coach RV has air brakes, and it's nearly 30 feet from the brake treadle valve in the very front to the rear axle. So it has a "quick release valve" on the chassis near the rear axle. Apply the brake via the pedal, and line pressure causes a diaphragm in the valve to close a vent port, and air is routed to the two rear brake pots. Release the brake pedal; the line pressure drops, the diaphragm opens the exhaust port, and the air in the pots is vented by way of that port, instead of having to travel all the way back up the line to the exhaust port on the treadle valve. What it is going to be fun is adjusting the pre-charge pressure of the tank at the house to just match the minimum pressure. Because of the elevation difference, the static pressure down there is much higher than at the well head. But, with flow, there will be drop due to that, and I'll have to measure and tinker with it to get it just right. As it is, the standard recommendation for a pressure tank is precharge should be about 2psi below cut-in. This cuts down drawdown capacity a bit, but it provides enough cushion to keep the bladder from bottoming out before the pump gets started and up to speed. Me, I like to tinker with that and get it just right at the edge. My tire gauge accuracy is not enough to trust to 1psi, but it looks like that's what it ended up at, maybe a little over 1 psi below cut-in. It takes a while to do that, pump it up until it bottoms out, once you've adjusted your cut-in pressure. Then slowly bleed it until it stops bottoming out. And you want to do that at the max output flow you're going to hit. For me, that was a 3/4" spigot at the well head. It and the H&K G-3 (from the lower quality Spanish CETME), set the bar for NON crew-served, man-carried 7.62x51 firepower. From the mid '50s to the early '80s. Not even the vaunted M-14 kept up with those, in terms of sustained durability for decades. The M-14 was pulled from service long before it was obsolete. I've fired many variants of the FAL. It is too heavy for it's caliber. The ergonomics SUCK. So do the sights. It handles, clumsily. ------- Unspoken, but implied: The kinetic energy increases as the square of the velocity. Thus, for the same rate of delivery, the velocity in a 3/4" pipe will be roughly 1.78 x the velocity in a 1" pipe (if my math is right). Of course, the volume of water in the 3/4" is lower, by a factor of the difference in cross-sectional areas, ~0.56. So, the energy difference should be 1.78^2 x 0.56 = 1.77 greater in the 'slug' of 3/4" water. ....maybe.. Mike,
That sounds about right. With flow, if you want to get deep in the physics, you look at the momentum flow as well as energy. The pressure spikes/drops can be expressed in terms of that momentum. IIRC. A rule of thumb is that fluid velocity in a pipe should not exceed 5 ft/s. IIRC, the water hammer (and the acceleration drop upon start) spikes depend only on the velocity (and density). If you exceed 5 ft/s, you're getting into the possible danger zone with pressure spikes. Rather than Sch 40, most of that 600' is SDR 21, which is a little bigger ID that Sch 40, and so the velocity is slightly less than Sch 40, and so is the friction drop. I used Sch 40 for the stub ups and under the dirt road just to be safe, so there is probably 20 - 30' of Sch 40 in the run. The advantage to lysergic acid-filled bolt tips is the havoc the survivors cause among their own. So Andy Tifa thinks it's just a flesh wound. Wait half an hour until he thinks his brigade has been co-opted by aliens, from Mars!

>> publious - How come the wellhead is so far from the house?
I always wanted a good water system around here, and put it close to the shed and shop. So I could use a 3-phase motor, running off the shop power. Also, that was a location of an old bored shallow well that had good water capacity. Wells are very hit and miss around here (has to do with fractures or "veins" in the bedrock, I think). It's not uncommon to drill a dry hole 500', and then have 10 - 20 GPM maybe 100' away. So besides water for the new house, I'm putting in some frost proof hydrants around the shop and garden area, and will likely hook my folks house to it as well. Capacity wise, this is the best well we've had around here. Which is what I was going for. Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at September 17, 2020 02:32 AM (rCwaK) 545
A neighbor of mine, a couple years younger than me, drilled a well for his new house when he built it, maybe 15 years ago or so when he got married. He built right at his old great-grandfather's house place, which had burned down a decade or so before that. On their first attempt, they went 600'. He said he was begging them to stop at 400', but they said just a little more, we'll hit something. They had nothing but a bare trickle at 600'. They moved to another spot less than 100' on the other side of the house place and hit 10GPM at 150'. Posted by: publius, Rascally Rapscallion of a Poperin Pear at September 17, 2020 02:35 AM (rCwaK) 546
Another thing was power. There was none down at the new house place until Mrs. Duke got there, and she takes her time. There was an old shed nearby that had power, running from a power line coming down the field. They had to put the temporary power right there at the transformer. Mrs. Duke is going to run the 7200V down off that pole underground to a pad mount near the house. So, if I'd drilled the well down there, power would've been a problem. I would've had to rig a long temporary run of some wire to it. This way, I got it up and running before Mrs. Duke got the transformer in. There are vanishingly few instances from my life where I have needed to forgive someone for doing me wrong. In fact, I can scarcely remember any wrong that still hurts. That's a blessing.
On the other hand, I still cringe to think wrongs I've committed, cruel or callous, over the years. Those are harder to talk about. Posted by: SloPitch Whiffer at September 17, 2020 02:45 AM (p7r9F) 548
The record well capacity in this area was about 100GPM, and that was about 3 miles from me. They hit the mother lode, and I forget how deep it was, but it wasn't too deep, maybe 250'. That was an estimate, because the capacity exceeded the driller's ability to measure. He was blowing out water as fast as his compressor could go, and it was still flowing. Of course, they didn't put anywhere near that big of a pump, just a regular sized one. This well is at least 30GPM capacity. I put 1.5HP, 15GPM pump in. I was almost going to put a 2HP, 20GPM class in, but the tank capacity would've been too much ($$$). As it is now, she'll pump about 17GPM at the well head wide open. That will fill a 500 gal spray tank in about 30 min. And that's what I wanted. A good well with some capacity for that if I want to. 60 It's also sad about Marc Bolan dying so young. Everything I've read about him says that he was a great guy, always very friendly to everyone, including fans. Posted by: qdpsteve at September 16, 2020 10:18 PM (L2ZTs) ************* The UK radio legend Danny Baker tells of the time as a 16 year old working at a fashionable record store in the West end of London in 1973, that they would often get rock stars popping in to buy rare imports or just even check on how their own records were doing. Marc Bolan was one. He walked in once and saw Baker wearing a shirt that he took an instant dislike to. "Why the fuck are you wearing that horrible shirt?" He asked the young starstruck shop assistant. "My mum got me it", Baker - who was a very working class Saaaf Lahndahn boy - replied. "Well we can't have that." said Bolan, who promptly took off his silk bespoke Parisian made shirt with a tiger design on it and handed it to the dumbfounded Baker. Baker reckoned it cost about £150 and that's 1973 prices. Baker put it on, Bolan looked at him and said, "There that's better, isn't it?" And then paid for the imported records he was there for and walked out of the shop...bare chested! Baker took the shirt off as soon as he got home and didn't wear it again but put it away for posterity. Until a few months later when he returned home one day to see his beloved silk shirt, stretched soaked and ruined hanging out to dry on the clothes line after his mum had gone through his room looking for dirty laundry. We wound up not even getting rained on. Thanks for asking. My good friend lives on the northwest edge of Mobile Bay. They lost power for some hours, got a bunch of limbs in the yard, but that's it. Farther east, people are hurting though, and they have my sympathies. Heck, I'm still feeling bad for those in Laura's path, where 28 people were killed by that storm. The city government of Anaheim, California, has asked Gov. Gavin Newsom to issue regulations that allow Disneyland and other theme parks to reopen, after the lack of commerce brought a $100 million shortfall to public coffers. California's theme parks have been closed since coronavirus restrictions began in March. While Florida's Disney World reopened in July, its counterpart in California has remained closed, affecting the local economy throughout the region. Yeah, Disney World may be "open", but it has a ton of ridiculous COVID-19-based restrictions that go along with being "open". Mandatory mask-wearing for all employees and customers, "social distancing", I think only a certain amount of people can be in the theme park and on the rides and attractions, I think health check and temperature check before getting into the theme park. And, if they are like Cedar Point in Ohio, you have to reserve tickets for specific days in advance. Sounds like a really "fun" time. No, thank you... Congratulations, you now live in an Anarco-Tyranny which means persecution of Whites and failure to hold blacks to any sort of standard. How long can a strong civilization withstand this? How long can our fragmented one survive this hypocrisy?
