BLM And Antifa Are Anti-Civilization

They want nothing more than a return to a pre-civilization world, in which might makes right, and respect for life simply does not exist. Their antecedents in Russia and China proved that beyond a doubt, demonstrating that the path to communism is paved with the bodies of those murdered in its pursuit.

It's the blurring of the lines between acceptable political differences and the murderous totalitarianism of our current crop of communists (or socialists...it's pretty much interchangeable) that makes it more palatable for the flaccid thinkers who muddle through their lives supporting one hip cause or another. How else to explain the idiot soccer moms and ignorant college students who support these organizations? They are far too disconnected from reality to understand that some of the first people up against the wall in a socialist paradise will be the educated (for certain definitions of the word) and the well-off.

At least in the 1930s, and 1950s, with a slight pause during WWII, America knew what it was fighting. There was a basic understanding of the dangers of communism, and at the very least most people were taught the basics of political philosophy, so they had a sense of the differences.

But now? "Progressive" sounds so delicious! We can all progress into the next phase of society, in which yucky competition is a thing of the past, and everyone lives in peace and harmony and gets to drink wonderful double-mocha-half-soy frappuccinos every day, and twice on Sundays!

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" sounds just marvelous! We will all enjoy the fruits of a system in which the abundance of goods and services is a natural byproduct of the unleashing of the workers' natural productivity!

Well, except for those pesky supporters and defenders of the status quo....the cops. We should kill them!

Progressive think tank says blue lives don't matter after two cops were shot in the head

And not just any progressive organization; it is named after a former United States senator! Democrat of course (and from Alaska, which strikes me as odd).

I am no fan of policing in America, as I have made clear over the years. But my frustration with the militarization of the police, and their sometimes heavy-handed treatment of our citizens is a far cry from declaring their lives to be unimportant. That is a clear call for murder, and we see the results of that in every violent protest and in the rhetoric coming from every corner of the power-mad Democrat base, which as far as I can tell is indistinguishable from the hard left.

This is fomenting insurrection against the lawful authority of the people. And contrary to the vapid spoutings of the willing fools who support the riots, this is a tactic in a well-known and used plan to destroy our political structure and institute the brutality of socialism.

Venezuela and Cuba are quite close by...just visit those countries for a glimpse of what is coming.

13 That same "think" tank has posts where they state that the protests are all peaceful and the police have been violent in suppressing them. The fantasy they create provides an internally consistent framework for the other things they claim, i.e. police are monsters, inhuman, therefore their lives don't matter. This isn't going to be fixed by reasoning with the left.

It's like seeing someone smash their head into a brick wall and come away with a caved-in, bloody face over and over and over again. Yet, still believing they can smash their heads into a brick wall and not come away with the exact same outcome. It's lunacy. It's idiocy. It's ignorance on a scale I can't comprehend. 47 These idiots who want the police gone have not the ability to understand even the simplest consequences of their desires. First step, with no police - not naming any names, but it makes it easy for any group of 10 or 20 dudes with AR-15's to stroll in and liquidate whoever they want. Second Step, you get martial law with military troops on every street corner. This has already happened at least once in most South American countries.

The real reason you have a civilian police force is to keep those two things from happening.

66 As much as I am critical of the police, events like what happened yesterday in Los Angeles are uncalled for. I am in agreement, yes: if good cops are so hell bent to get rid of bad cops, they will decertify their unions and in fact campaign to ban police unions. I think jurisdictions everywhere need to stop budgeting to collect X amount of fines from people, be it from traffic tickets or other cases. I think we and they need to rediscover what cops are there to do: investigate crime (not "go home at night", not "keep us safe", they can't; not "serve and protect"). And by the way, the cops by and large are underrated at that role.

But not to the point where cops are getting killed.

And in the new system, the same people who aren't lazy whiners now, will adapt, overcome and go right back to ruling your pathetic life; what's left of it.

So my guess is Joe is down about 8 points.

Florida was won by Donald Trump on November 8, 2016, with a plurality of 49.0% of the popular vote that included a 1.2% winning margin over Hillary Clinton, who had 47.8% of the vote.

150 OK, here's what Wiki says:

On December 7, 2011, District Attorney of Philadelphia R. Seth Williams announced that prosecutors, with the support of the victim's family, would no longer seek the death penalty for Abu-Jamal and would accept a sentence of life imprisonment without parole.[74][75][76] This sentence was reaffirmed by the Superior Court of Pennsylvania on July 9, 2013.[77]

After the press conference on the sentence, widow Maureen Faulkner said that she did not want to relive the trauma of another trial. She understood that it would be extremely difficult to present the case against Abu-Jamal again, after the passage of 30 years and the deaths of several key witnesses. She also reiterated her belief that Abu-Jamal will be punished further after death.[78]

He is still in prison.

I read over his Wikipedia page... whoever wrote it, if they are a fan of his, it doesn't show.

He's been a failure his whole life. One interesting tidbit, he was instrumental in getting the Pentagon Papers into the Senate record.

Has been a failure at politics, a failure at marriage, went on the grift with real estate and other capitalist adventures, and ended in bankruptcy. Until he got back on the politics grift, it says for years he was living off his wife's (second wife, a former Senate staffer/fluffer for Jacob Javitz) salary.

I'm sticking with my original characterization: He's Bernie lite. Not as good at the lefty grift as Bernie.

One apt passage:

"For the anarchist himself... we need not have one particle of concern more than for any ordinary murderer. He is not the victim of social or political injustice. There are no wrongs to remedy in his case. The cause of his criminality is to be found in his own evil passions and in the evil conduct of those who urge him on."

166 113 35 My problem with all of this is that what I mostly read is essentially complaining. What I want to know is, other than voting, what do we do about it? How do we stop it? I see little or no organizing of armed America to stop this, and many local prosecutors are probably salivating waiting to arrest good people who try to defend their communities.
Posted by: Mercenary13 at September 13, 2020 12:14 PM (jUYSe)

Scoggdog used to bring this up all the time; the problem was that no matter how many times someone tried to go through the explanation with him, he'd just ignore it and keep on making the same complaints.

As conservative, order minded, and sane people who understand *why* things work the way we do, we understand that it is worth doing everything we can to try and maintain the rules that maintain a civil society, even when the other side is abusing those rules. We will do everything we can to maintain the Rule of Law as long as we can.

And the reason we do this is because, as Larry Correia has pointed out, people like us have a completely different view on Violence than the Left does. The Left thinks of violence as a calculated tool, as something that they can dial up or dial down, as needed to get the response they desire. A few more riots, a few less riots, a mostly peaceful riot - that all makes sense to them.

We don't think that way - we avoid all of that because to us, Violence is a binary choice, a simple "On" and "Off" switch. As long as the switch is "Off", then we do everything we can to maintain the Rule of Law as long as we can. If the Switch ever flips to "On", then it's going to be Las Vegas time in the Tower at every Antifa gathering from then on, except there will be 20 shooters with high capacity mags up in the towers and no one will stop them as long as anyone is left moving on the street below.

We don't want that, we try to do everything we can to keep things from going there. But if they push us too far, things can go there overnight.

As much as I see that, it doesn't give them the right to spit on the public, early and often, and far too many of them do exactly that.

I keep hearing how we need to respect police officers. Nope. The problem is the opposite: police officers need to learn to respect the public.

I think back to HS: we had two cops on our campus. They got along perfectly with everyone but the gangbangers. Students like me? We'd cut up with them: we'd mess with them and they with us. The reason they did that was because we knew they had a job to do, and the cops were good-natured enough to know WE weren't the problem, and as such, they were cool with us. (But if you were a gangbanger, they were on your ass: THEY were the problem.)

Naivete on my part? Perhaps. But I wonder if we got back to something like that how much better off we would be.

If you look at history, large opposition rarely starts organically by people just deciding, in some concerted manner: "hey lets push back violently to get things back the way they were." They are, like you said, pushed to the point where they can make the very easy mental calculation, "this is now worth my life and lively hood". This point is, sadly, quite far down the line of oppression.

214 Not sure there is a plausible scenario in which the "left" and Dems do more to help the GOP do better in an election. Even what we're actually seeing isn't plausible.

But, 1) it's an incredibly dumbed-down America, and largely as misinformed and uninformed due to the disappearance of any kind of actual press, and 2) at best that leaves us with a GOP, and one emboldened to even more brazen inaction (I like this wording). The worse the Dems are, the worse the GOP can and will be (no goals, no commitments, nada).

Of course a Dem obliteration is still the clearly preferable outcome. But so many seem to still confuse avoiding the abyss with actual "progress", or a course change.

I think we all do it. In the moment we say "he's an asshole." And that's probably fine, for the moment. Especially if it's someone you never have to deal with again... or not all that much.

However, all humans are flawed, and we're all capable of assholish behavior. And if we ask for it, we CAN be forgiven for our sins... which will be granted, in this life or the next.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his needs" was written by a grifter who mooched off of his collaborator Freddy Engels' inheritance for most of his adult life. I can't help thinking that Das Kapital and the Manifesto were written entirely in order to keep Engels motivated to write checks, and wasn't intended to really have an effect beyond that.

Oops.

As a practical matter, I don't have to judge the person. The behavior is sufficient enough to render this person's freedom (and possibly their life) forfeit.

I can non-judgmentally decide they are too much of a risk to leave them around to hurt anyone, ever again.

Call it punishment or call it "for our safety," the result is the same. You rot until you die. However long that takes (even if it means we put you to death).

288 Leave the judging of people to God.

One of the aspects of judging people is within the context of church discipline. There is a point where the unrepentant is removed from the body. That is judging people.

Also particular when reviewing a person for a position of leadership. Yes we judge people.

"By their fruits you shall know them..." which is a clear implication that their works/acts are indicative of the status of their soul.

If you can't tell the difference between the regenerate and the carnal, then maybe you are of the latter.

In the Old Testament sense, if someone's kid was too much of a rebel, the parents could take them out to the town square where the locals would then stone the offspring to death.

The thing about that is stonings require a good number of people who agree that the target needs to be stoned. This mitigates against frustrated and easily excited parents by bringing in the alleged sobriety of the crowd to render/execute justice.

Note, the kid didn't actually have to have a lengthy criminal resume, just being sufficiently an asshole by community standards would be enough.

But my frustration with the militarization of the police, and their sometimes heavy-handed treatment of our citizens is a far cry from declaring their lives to be unimportant. That is a clear call for murder, and we see the results of that in every violent protest and in the rhetoric coming from every corner of the power-mad Democrat base, which as far as I can tell is indistinguishable from the hard left."

We should not run down the rabbit hole that this has one damned thing to do with "defunding the police." If the Left gets their way, we will indeed have police. Those so-called "social workers" they claim to want to deploy as police replacements to the cities? Those are political officers, and they will have lists of those who are not compliant with approved thoughts.

Be very, very careful. These types have no problems with police excesses--want them, in fact--as long as the victims are their political enemies.

340 In terms of Christian Theology, "Judging" meant making a decision as to who was going to Heaven and who was going to Hell, a purely spiritual conclusion. That is God's domain, not man's. But as originally intended, it had nothing to do with Temporal Concerns.

Isn't that an argument against evangelism?

Why ever pitch the Invitation if it is off limits to calculate the state of their soul?

1 Corinthians 2:14 claims that the Bible is a closed Book to the unregenerate, therefore any message that would have biblical truths and doctrines would be lost on the unregenerate but would be edifying to those who have been "saved".

OTOH, Preaching the simple Gospel Message to the Lost implies that you can distinguish Lost from Found.

Furthermore, sometimes its pretty obvious. Like the blaspheming atheist, the Muslim or the Hindu. They aren't saved and the current condition of their soul is pretty well known.

346 331 I kind of wonder if there were "missionaries" in Nagasaki. Pretty much a Catholic thing. Largest Catholic church in Asia, out in the Urukami Valley (where the bomb happened to go, a few miles off-target, oops - but I don't really believe the bombardier's or bomb commander's accounts that there was a break in the clouds, they did it by radar).

Saw nuns there when visiting.

A long-standing conspiracy theory was that Nagasaki was targeted precisely because it is predominantly Christian and that was a despised and often-persecuted religious minority. The idea was, if you believe that, more to frighten than to enflame Imperial Japan in its last days. The truth is far more benign, even banal: the city of choice was the historically rich Kyoto, the former Imperial capital, and the Secretary of War Henry Simpson had honeymooned there and wanted it spared.

Nagasaki had Catholics and the descendants of persecuted Catholics. According to Takahashi Nagai's biographical account, The Bells of Nagasaki, they prayed for peace right up until the bombing. He had a premonition that the city would be destroyed in the war and moved his mother-in-law and children away.

He's an interesting fellow, by the way. He was absolutely shaken when he served as a medic in Manchuria and saw how the Japanese abused Chinese civilians. Even after his own terminal illness due to radiation sickness (he was exposed pre-war while working a radiologist) and losing his wife in the bombing, he called for developing nuclear power.

Which is good from the ChiCom perspective because they don't actually have the military capacity to invade places like Taiwan or Japan. Despite all the $ they've invested in the Navy, they still can't really compete with Japan, and the best they can do with Taiwan is to try to impose a blockade.

Author was a writer for Reagan and Bus 1. Very interesting theory and i'm sure has all of the liberal soy boys getting chubbies with the idea of a Pelosi presidency.

The BLUF of the article is this: pelosi knows all of the legislative tricks and has an iron grip on the collective, tiny, microscopic balls of all the dems in the house. She can do a significant amount of damage if voted in as the temporary Prez while the votes are still counted.

While I will submit to you both that the Chinese still believe and practice the doctrine of Sun Tzu, they absolutely have the air and sealift capability to take Taiwan by force. There is no question about it. The Chinese are near peers with us in the multi-domain environment. Their cyber capabilities are extremely robust and what they may lack in technology they make up for in sheer numbers.
And as I have asked the Horde before- do you think we will actually risk losing a city or overseas assets for Taiwan? And do you not think the chinese are smart enough to hide, give, or use a patsy to deliver an NBC type weapon against us or our equities should we decide to protect Taiwan?

Realistically, for all parties involved, the Chinese will probably take Taiwan surreptitiously, ala the Russian method in the Crimea. Lots of fishing boats, tourists showing up, etc etc. Next thing you know an invasion force is on the island before everyone has had their second cup of coffee. Then it's too late.

If we halted all trade with China could they survive that? Long term? Could Europe, Russia balance that? Africa, South American and the middle east can't. Those are just places for them to exploit and I believe eventually get bogged down in. And China has more near term trouble with India than us.

Taiwan is certainly doable for them as you point out. But they have many, many problems on the horizon that the typical xenophobic asian feelings of racial superiority aren't going to magically solve.

Taiwan has relaunched its submarine program and has been rumored for some time to have nuclear weapons (I have no opinion there but it is widely believed). In the Eighties, less than twenty years after the United States recognized the PRC, I was at a meeting with Taiwanese officials and they felt, then, at least, they had sufficient deterrent to any attack from the PRC. They still claim as much.

I don't think the United States would do a damned thing if the PRC tried to invade Taiwan, and frankly that Fifth Column thing would preclude it. The Taiwanese think this as well, hence their sub manufacturing was "resumed" in March as the PRC started to crack down on Hong Kong. They made a very public announcement to test the PRC, I suspect.

Trump might not, but sadly he won't be President forever. The effing Democrats handcuff American foreign policy because at some point they'll be back in power (/spit), rendering any promise of American help nugatory.

It's not the end game. It's just the goal of Phase 1. As I've said before, this is 1905, not 1917, and the leaders of the insurgency know their history. The first goal is to break the legitimacy of the government. Only later do they tell you what they're going to replace it with in the People's Republic. Until then, it's all free college, Medicare for All, Green New Deal, and universal basic income. Don't ask too many questions.

Yes, the violence gets ramped up after the election, especially since there will be several states where the outcome is not declared. However, that's not the big show. I fear that the Inauguration will feature a spectacular terrorist attack, as well as a bloody riot timed to create a split screen image with the Inaugural Address. What happens January 21, 2021 is completely unpredictable.

Posted by: Caesar North of the Rubicon at September 13, 2020 02:35 PM (jK8Z7)

441 We don't think that way - we avoid all of that because to us, Violence is a binary choice, a simple "On" and "Off" switch.

American students are so disabled by the time they enter college, you could only reinstate a rigorous curriculum at the price of failing out the vast majority. I used to think those "studies" classes were by choice, but further experience teaches that they are "necessary" because everyone gets an A for saying whatever they already learned to say in elementary school, TV, and music.

453 The problem today are many Americans think most cops are bad, not just a few cops. So not only the left, but the right are constantly complaining about cops being heavy-handed and too militarized.

Well, police retirements are up, recruiting is down and many cities are trying to defund the police. So most Americans should be happy with fewer and less aggressive police with no tactical equipment since it is expensive to maintain.

Finally, you might have cops more like Sheriff Andy and Deputy Fife trying to handle mass shootings, riots and terrorists attacks. Violent crime will continue to rise, but cops will be more polite. Lord knows we don't want cops to be aggressive.
