101 Just listened to Dana Loesch interview the founder of Code of Vets, yet another claimed "charity" for veterans. As a disabled veteran, I've about had my fill of these - where is all this money going exactly? I've wasted days researching for actual help and every time I turn up empty. For example, I simply needed help getting an urgent ride to the vet hospital - yeah right. Even "DAV" one of the first you get in a search was a joke - they claim to have an entire fleet of vans for just such needs...sorry, dead end. Calls went to voicemail - voicemails unanswered. Should be an investigation into these groups.

Nope. Not since 1988. Became a stay at home mom, money was tight. Learned to not miss it, and later I couldn't justify paying monthly for something we would seldom use. Over the air TV was good enough. Now I seldom even watch that .

The 2020 Michigan MoMe is Saturday at Noon(-ish) in New Hudson, Michigan. The sign-up link (https://mimome.stoatnet.org) is in the sidebar on the front page and in my nick; there's also an e-mail link, if you prefer to sign up that way. If you haven't signed up yet, please do so today.

For targeting purposes, it's the Milford Road exit off I-96, about half-way in between I-275 & US-23. Out-state 'ettes & 'rons what are jonesin' for a MoMe are welcome to join us as well. It's really not that far, in the grand scheme of things.

This will be a low-key, laid-back, high-speed, low-drag afternoon event. We're not promising lavish venues or cabrito or anything, but it will be (potentially) Keto-friendly & at times very loud. The pool is closed per Obergruppenfuhrer Whitmer's whim, so the synchronized swimming event has been cancelled. Mayhaps next year...

Also, if you have signed up for the MIMoMe but didn't click the link in the email to confirm it, please do. Otherwise, we have a hard time knowing if your email address is right and that updates won't get lost. Thank you for helping us help you help us all.

But, not only that.

Disney,on purpose, made a movie totally compliant with Chinese censors, Anti-Male Fymynyst censors, and SJW-Marxist censors,

and it failed with audiences.

Imagine that.

Disney, old pal, how much great popular art came out of the Soviet Union or Iron Curtain countries?

How much out of Mao's Red China or Pol Pot's Cambodia or North Korea?

That would be a number approaching zero.

Unless they were underground oppositional authors like Solzhenitsyn, etc.

Adding Marxist/leftist drivel to your plots, stories, and movies is like adding shit to a delicious banana split.

How much shit are you willing to tolerate in your banana split?

360 Attenborough also says the ocean will turn acid by 2050 and civilization will collapse by 2100.

-

Okay, the polar bear part WAS the dumbest thing I've ever read until I saw the part where the oceans, representing 70 odd percent of the earth's surface, are going to turn acidic in 30 years.

That's not the dumbest, though. Close, but still.

The oceans are going to turn acidic, but civilization will somehow continue unimpeded for another 50 years even though the phytoplankton that supplies huge amounts of oxygen for every living thing no longer exists or provides said oxygen.

You know, I like David Attenborough. I like the BBC nature shows. They're incredible. I'm jealous that we can't produce anything like that anymore in the US.

However -

Attenborough is a big part of the problem with the world in general these days.

He is first and foremost a media guy with a very limited idea of the scientific method and has fallen hook, line, and sinker for the "climate change" fraud.

And acidified oceans? Puh-leeeze.

Attenborough presents himself well in the guise as an expert scientist. He's calm, speaks well and with confidence, sounds educated but not snobby, etc.

And yet, he's no more a scientist than is Pee Wee Herman.

He helms one of the crown jewels of the BBC and British culture in general.

Too bad he's chosen to use his powers for evil and to aid and abet marxist climate fraud.

Sad.

Well said.

It's a shame people honestly, truly don't understand the very most basic element of how science works. The thing that every 7th grader is expected to know, but so many people somehow lose.

If your hypothesis fails, that hypothesis is not valid and you discard that hypothesis.

(A secondary nice thing would be for people to remember that the responsibility of a hypothesis lies entirely on the shoulders of the person making the claim. If someone else shows where it fails, it still failed.)

This has been happening since at least the 80s.

I dated a black girl in the mid 80s, remained good friends with her, and then watched her get scholarship after scholarship - including Ivies - without even turning in applications, while I scored higher in academics and had similar extracurricular activities and got a couple of offers from state schools I actively pursued.

I decided about a decade ago that this "bigotry of low expectations" is a big BIG reason things are coming to a head. I'm certain of it now. We've got five to seven generations of people under 50 who are incapable of thought, logic, and reason, and who have never had anyone more capable than them tell them "no" or "wow, that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard a person say" or "you're not qualified," and them chickens is comin' home to roost.
