Susan Rice would be a brain-dead choice. Sure, she fits the profile of a "woman of color" with prior experience, but she is at least hip-deep - if not neck-deep - in Spygate. Her role is pretty well known. No charges have been filed, of course, and they won't be. Despite that, a lot is known and the attack ads would be a nasty combination of trivially easy to make and brutal. She would be a catastrophically bad choice. I don't think they're too smart to make it, but I also don't think we're lucky enough to get it.

There's a curve. It's an asymmetric bell curve, with a long right-hand shoulder and tail. It describes every epidemic in humans, ever, including this one. We're moving through it, are mostly through it, and nothing we've done or could do can or could make *any* changes to it, in terms of final score (barring effective vaccine or dramatically more effective therapies).
I wonder if Trump has even heard of this most basic reality about epidemics, much less asked any of his "task force" to explain what all the economic wreckage has accomplished.

If it means that kids are going to be forced to have their temperature taken and go through health checks every morning before entering school, wear masks all day and "social distance" and sanitize every hour... forget it.
Compare that to online learning where none of that is necessary.
Logistically, how in the world is any school going to be able to enforce all the ridiculous COVID-19 restrictions? They aren't.
And why would parents send their kids into that kind of environment anyway? By now all the parents who work have made arrangements for when their kids are home all day, since they have all been home since March.
I just do not see any scenario schools could open again with COVID-19 restrictions enforced.
Opening them without restrictions? Sure. But if they can only open if they have health screenings every morning, mask-wearing all day, "social distancing", etc... forget it.

No where near as insane as giving an extra $600 a week to people who refuse to look for a job--or who were collecting already BEFORE the pandemic.

the stimulus checks didn't bother me nearly as much as the unemployment boosters and business loans that will likely be forgiven. It absolutely encouraged people to not go back to work
In hindsight, I should have gotten an enormous loan for my business because it will likely be forgiven.
A lot of these businesses like restaurants go out of business anyway to the tune of about 90%.
If it were up to me, I probably would have made some universal tax cut holiday as the stimulus that ended this year.

Mot people do not know who she is. If she is on the ticket, and is implicated in the scandal, the claim will be even more that the scandal is just political.
You will hear this: "Suddenly this person we never heard of is implicated RIGHT AFTER she is nominated as VP? What a COINCIDENCE!"
And every Democrat will then have cover to block and lie and prevent anything from being done.
