Comey said that could be an issue as it relates to sharing sensitive information. Rice then wrote, "Comey replied, 'potentially.'Well, really that's Obama suggesting that through a leading question, but Rice seems to claim it was Comey's idea. As to Brennan's attempt to throw Comey under the bus: I'm not certain what Smith is thinking of, but my guess would be that he means Brennan's attempt to claim that it was Comey, not Brennan, who insisted on including the Steele Smears in the intelligence briefing Trump was given. Comey says Brennan insisted on its inclusion, and Comey objected to its inclusion. Brennan says Comey insisted on its inclusion, and Brennan objected to its inclusion.
According to Fox News' Catherine Herridge, sources familiar with the records say that "a late-2016 email chain indicated then-FBI Director James Comey told bureau subordinates that then-CIA Director John Brennan insisted the dossier be included in the intelligence community assessment on Russian interference, known as the ICA." ... But in a statement to Fox News, a former CIA official [John Brennan?] put the blame squarely on Comey. "Former Director Brennan, along with former [Director of National Intelligence] James Clapper, are the ones who opposed James Comey's recommendation that the Steele Dossier be included in the intelligence report," the official said.Remember, the Steele Smears included in that briefing were very convenient for the FusionGPS frame-up, as it provided CNN the "news hook" to report on the otherwise unreportable-due-to-lack-of-any-verification "dossier." Of course that briefing was almost immediately leaked to CNN, so that they could publish about the dossier within days of the briefing, on January 10. Also note that whoever insisted on including the Steele Smears -- which were included precisely so that CNN would get the "news hook" it needed -- is almost certainly the one who then leaked it -- illegally! -- to CNN. (I also know, for a fact, that James Clapper was a source. But he might have been a confirmatory second source, rather than the first leaker, or the one who arranged the briefing to be leaked in the first place.) So one can understand the contentiousness here: Someone might be going to jail for illegally leaking highly classified material. And now, after Rice put the finger on Comey and Brennan put the finger on Comey, Yates puts the finger on Comey:

I think it proves that no one likes Comey, including his fellow partisan Democrats. One of my favorite days, of the past decade, happened approx 4 years ago. It was the day I came to AOS website, and there was a flaming skull. Comey, just weeks before the 2016 election, was reopening the investigation into Hillarys emails. I think everyone agreed that he did that just to exonerate her. But it was a very bad bit of timing. IIRC, the late timing was partly due to McCabe, who sat on the trove of emails discovered on the Anthony Weiner laptop for ~ 1 month. The NYFBI had informed him and he brushed it off until the NYPD threatened to start leaking info, and then McCabe sent Strzok to pick up the laptop and informed Comey about it.

Yup, that's about the long and the short of it. Would I like to see the wrongdoers punished? Abso-fucking-lutely. Is punishing the wrongdoers vital for the appearance of law in this worm-eaten, desiccated husk of a banana republic? Also yes.
But does it matter one iota at this point, in general and extant political concerns? Nope, not at all. The time for relevance has passed. No one cares. They won. Even if Comey goes to prison or hangs - which he should, of course - it won't matter politically. They won. They fucked with the transfer of authority following an election, and did so for years and got away with it. Even if they cook one or two of them. I would like to see that, but I don't think it will happen and sadly, at this point, I am not sure it matters.

When the investigations are done I think it will all be revealed. But if you go back to FISC Judge Rosemary Collyer's finding in 2017 in response to Admiral Rogers shutting down the FISA 702 process she found widespread abuse of the process going back to at least 2012 and that's why he shutdown the process.
That was the entire reason for the Carter Page FISA in the first place, the FBI and it's private contractors no longer had access to use the NSA database to spy.
In her report she found that full 85% of all 702 searches were illegal. There were thousands of requests over that time period, you can do the math.

The NYPD said they would go public, they told Rudy and a couple others, if the FBI tired to bury the batch of Hillary's emails they found on the laptop.

I think the real question is Who, not If. I mean, no offense, but we all want Someone Else to do something, myself included. Right? Everyone has families and careers they don't want to put at risk, or put on hold while they try brainstorm outside the box ideas.
But I wager that if our families and careers were more directly threatened, we would find a way, no matter what it took, ranging from the legal to extra-legal. Some might run for Congress, some might sell grandpa's farm to form a PAC, some might recognize their company's electronics or chemicals are dual use.
I think 20 years from now we will be at point where we WOULD go so far as to form STA Teams to eradicate the corruption, we will discover it's too, they've grown too powerful and our defeat inevitable.
So we have a window of opportunity. I say that it has arrived, but I don't stay open long. We need to find the will to act.
OR find an entertaining hobby and retreat into a private life of intellectual pursuits, ignoring the screams of our neighbors when they are taken in night.
Because otherwise, we are just wasting our time. You mentioned fatigue. I avoid watching some news, because I know it will only radicalize me more.

I did so thinking "OK, this HAS to hurt the dollar. Has to. And that's likely to help metals, and silver has been undervalued for a good long while."
So I do think we're headed into into an inflationary period, but how bad it'll be is something I can't guess.

It's possible they were threatened with their jobs/retirement. People scoff that principles should matter more, but when you are shut out of getting work because you crossed the wrong people, you think long and hard before you give up your livelihood. Especially if you have kids. Plenty of people went into these organizations to do good. The few who didn't are better connected and willing to do anything to keep their power.

Everything was compartmentalized with a very small group at the FBI and DOJ. The entire investigation was run from HQ in DC which was highly irregular and it was done that way to keep people from knowing what was going on.
I'm sure there were plenty of people with concerns, some people that John Solomon believe were from the Intel Community warned him what happened back in late 2016, early 2017, but they didn't know the details.

The currency itself is a reflection of the state that mints and prints it.
