The Saturday Night Joke

A 4th of July observation................

Today our little town celebrated by still holding its annual 4th of July Parade. Mrs. Mis Hum and I belong to the local ATV Club and our club was represented very well at the parade with machines proudly displaying American and Armed Forces flags.

A local radio station was doing a remote live broadcast. And as our machine was inching toward the official starting point the "news guy" shoved his microphone in my face and asked, "What does the 4th of July mean to you?"

My response, "Independence and freedom."

He then asked, "Aren't you afraid of the ......(long pause)?

All I could think to say was, "Oh Hell no!" And he shook his head and we rolled on.

I'm horrible at estimating crowd sizes. However, I estimate the crowd size at about 2,000-2,500 people that spanned the parade route of 3/4 of a mile. Not a Karen to be spotted. People of all ages were there, smiling, giving us waves and or the thumbs up. Children gathering candy that we were tossing at them. Just Americans celebrating the birth of our great country.

Yeah, Mr. Fake News wanted to start up with the Covid Kung Flu crap. But, I wouldn't let him ruin an enjoyable portion of my day. We all forgot about our nations troubles and gathered to celebrate the goodness, after all we are Americans.

I guess that's what the 4th of July means to me.

Contrary to the Democrats in this country. Our country is still admired by foreigners.

1. My partner’s American and whenever we travel to the States I’m always struck by how ridiculously friendly everyone is. I’ve had long conversations with people I’ve only just met who are just genuinely interested in what life is like in other countries/how I’m finding America etc. And people tend to be very giving of themselves as well. In Britain the standard response to ‘How are you?’ is ‘Fine/great’ whatever, whereas American’s can give you a complete breakdown of their life at the momen. It’s nice though.

A couple of years ago I was flying in to meet my b/f, a blizzard hit and I got stranded in Newark. The airline was NO help (‘act of God’ and I ended up spending 6 hours in a blizzard trying to catch various trains to Philadelphia. Everyone I met along the way was so helpful. When I finally got to the Philly suburb where my bf was he insisted on taking me to his cousin’s party at a bar before we went home. I was tired, soaking wet and pissed off, but as soon as I walked through the door a barful of people I hadn’t seen in a year all yelled my name, ran up and treated me like a long lost sister. I cried

That’s what I like about Americans.

2. Americans think “in trial balloons”. They always explore new ideas, ways of doing things. A lot of times, silly and mediocre stuff comes out of it, but when a balloon flies, boy, does it go a long way.

As another birthday comes to an end. I feel so much better knowing we are safe thanks to the FBI. Roger Stone is a different story.

“Hushpuppi,” a Nigerian scammer suspected of trying to launder hundreds of millions of dollars, was taken into FBI custody in Chicago on Thursday evening.

Ramon Olorunwa Abbas, a.k.a. “Ray Hushpuppi” and “Hush,” a Nigerian national, had just been expelled from the United Arab Emirates for various suspected crimes after his arrest last week.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says that Abbas will face criminal charges “alleging he conspired to launder hundreds of millions of dollars from business email compromise (BEC) frauds and other scams, including schemes targeting a U.S. law firm, a foreign bank and an English Premier League soccer club.”

It's funny how they despise meat, yet imitate it as often as they can.

TEL AVIV/ZURICH (Reuters) – Israeli start-up Redefine Meat plans to launch 3D printers to produce plant-based steaks mimicking real beef next year in a bid for a slice of the fast-growing alternative meat market. Meat substitutes are increasingly popular with consumers concerned about animal welfare and the environment, boosting sales at Beyond Meat, Impossible Foods and Nestle. Redefine Meat, based in Rehovot, south of Tel Aviv, will first market test its “Alt-Steak” at high-end restaurants this year before rolling out its industrial-scale 3D printers to meat distributors in 2021.

“You need a 3D printer to mimic the structure of the muscle of the animal,” CEO Eshchar Ben-Shitrit told Reuters. The machines to be launched next year will be able to print 20kg an hour and eventually hundreds, at a lower cost than real meat.

You don't need a machine to mimic, just buy the Goddamn steak, you know you want to.

Is this the perfect cure for that midlife crisis? 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat.

Let's face it, the name "2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat" really lacks length and gravitas, especially for something with 707 horsepower. Luckily, Dodge has rectified that situation, adding one more word to the moniker—Redeye—while also pouring 90 more horsepower into this four-door doom sled. Still, you had to see this coming.

After all, the Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat offers a Redeye version (the most powerful iteration since the demise of the Demon) and shouldn't the mechanically similar, four-door Charger sedan be extended the same opportunity? It's also in keeping with the Dodge playbook of keeping its relatively aged lineup of cars fresh by constantly pumping them full of 'roids. And so the 2021 Dodge Charger Redeye offers 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque from its 6.2-liter supercharged Hemi V-8, all of which is shuttled to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission that's received a beefier torque converter to handle the greater output.

Mental illness is a bitch.

THE PEOPLE WHO DREAM OF BEING AMPUTEES
People who suffer from BIID — Body Identity Integrity Disorder — go through life believing their arms or legs don’t belong to them. How far will they go to feel ‘complete’?

Sofi didn’t hate her feet, she just never really felt like they belonged to her. In fact, everything below her knees seemed more like stilts, due to an ever-present identity dysphoria causing lifelong, emotional anguish. Even a passing glance at her toes could incite months of depression and suicidal ideation.

And so, in 2005, at the age of 19, Sofi began contemplating ways to chop them off. The freight train was an option. It hauled cement and trundled past her seaside home in Scotland at 2 p.m. every day. She considered draping her shins across the tracks, but envisioned being dragged by her legs for miles and opted against it. A shotgun could work, but firearms are nearly impossible to obtain in the U.K. She even thought about staging a car crash, but the unpredictability of an “accident” that could injure others seemed imprudent.

78 70 The nearby small town had a dandy parade today and it was well attended. There was a collection of floats that gave the history of our nation's founding and the usual collection of school drill teams, rodeo royalty and high-powered vehicles. Even had a helicopter flyover to start things off!

Best of all was that when Old Glory came down the street, folks stood and paid their respects. Every time.

Yeah it is full of the meat version of carob, but what does the 3d printer accomplish?

Celebrated Independence Day at Mom's here in OilTown. Son grilled hot Dogs and hamburgers. Lots of sides, including of course baked beans. Watermelon. A great American feast. And swimming.

A brief hearty rain at sunset has not dampened the 4th. Sounds like a war zone in every direction. Thumps and bangs and whistles and snaps. Going on and on and on.

'Merica.

By the way, if you didn't catch Trump's full speech at Mt. Rushmore, I recommend it.

"People who suffer from BIID -Body Identity Integrity Disorder -go through life believing their arms or legs don't belong to them. How far will they go to feel complete? "

We try to cure these people that feel their body isn't right?
We counsel them. We try to help them realize their legs, or hands, or whatever are really theirs. We do NOT allow a doctor to mutilate their body.

Why do we allow, nay, ENCOURAGE other people to mutilate their bodies by cutting off their own sexual organs? Why do Doctors cater to their delusions? Shouldn't we treat a person that wants to remove a breast or penis the same as someone who wants to remove a leg?

In twenty years, I think these sex change doctors and therapists will be treated as the quacks and monsters they really are.

I cannot understate the number of places, large tents usually, selling fireworks. Often there is a large cargo container along side. Direct from China I guess. There is no shortage of buyers either. I have heard and seen fireworks on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th starting as early as an hour before sunset. People have an increasing love of fireworks and cannot wait to shoot them out. We no longer need baseball games nor government displays of fireworks to celebrate our independence. I see that as a good thing. And now back to watching the citizenry shooting of fireworks.

Join your Lakewood neighbors in a "Candlelight for Community" moment in your front yard on July 4th at 830pm. At that time, light a candle and join your fellow residents in singing "God Bless America" throughout Lakewood. Since our nation's founding, Americans have faced challenges and continually strived to make our nation better, building on the sacrifices and advances made by those who came before us. We continue to do so today.

The City of Lakewood hopes that this showing of community solidarity through a candlelighting ceremony brings us all closer, despite the need for social distancing to maintain health and safety for all."

255 I've been making French bread. Tired of buying it. The sandwich bread is so cheap now, it breaks in half under its own weight. Forget trying to spread butter on it. I suspect they are using cake flour (cheap .. no protein) from golly knows where, but you know where.

What works good is starting a "sponge", about a third of the flour, and yeast + the water and let that do its thing for 24 hours. Way better flavor.

It seems odd to me that fireworks are legal in so many localities. I "grew up" in a suburb of Louisville, KY in the 1950-1970 era and fireworks were illegal. You had to drive to Tennessee to buy them. Now they are legal in KY and IN where I now reside. With all the safety freaks in charge it just seems they would not have allowed fireworks to be legalized. Firecrackers aren't as good as they used to be. They weakened them in 1967.

285 We try to cure these people that feel their body isn't right?
We counsel them. We try to help them realize their legs, or hands, or whatever are really theirs. We do NOT allow a doctor to mutilate their body.

Why do we allow, nay, ENCOURAGE other people to mutilate their bodies by cutting off their own sexual organs? Why do Doctors cater to their delusions? Shouldn't we treat a person that wants to remove a breast or penis the same as someone who wants to remove a leg?
_______________

Yeah, it really doesn't make sense. These BIID people feel that their arms or their legs don't belong on their bodies, just like "transgender" people feel that their penises or their breasts don't belong on their bodies. No doctor in the U.S. will amputate a healthy person's arms or legs just because they don't want them and believe the limbs should not be on their bodies. But many U.S. doctors will happily chop off a penis or remove the breasts of a person who believes they were born in the "wrong" body, in terms of their biological sex.

What makes one of these body dysmorphic conditions surgically "treatable" and one not? They both involve people whose beliefs about what they are do not match the observable biological reality. Why are the "transgenders" treated as heroes for their delusional thinking about their bodies, while the BIID people are just treated as nuts?

Lots of artillery fire around here. We put the dogs up early tonight and gave them dinner.

The rescues are doing well. Beast has a bad neck and bad teeth; he got some soft soaked kibble that was easier for him to eat. Musya is a little spitfire and gobbles down anything you put in front of her.

Doppel is the worst off mentally, flinchy and very uncertain of his situation but willing to be touched. His sons, whom we've named Rocket and Blaze, are more curious about us and accepting. They didn't know what to do with dinner last night but happily dug in tonight.

It's a long road for all of them, poor things, but they're doing as well as can be expected.

310 Make of this what you will:

I spent the day in Dana Point today, in Orange County CA, a former conservative bastion but not so much in the last decade. The turnout for the Fourth was huge, and the marina was full of boats, paddleboarders, kayaks, dinghys, trailer boats, yachts, you name it. Even though our imperial overlords had closed the beaches, people were crowded onto anything that floats and almost nobody except a few old people was wearing a mask.

What was even better is that I must have seen at least 30 big TRUMP 2020 flags flying from boats and dinghys, along with maybe a hundred American flags and five or six Gadsden flags. I saw about 10 people wearing MAGA hats too. I never see people in MAGA hats! OTOH, the was nothing, NOTHING, that showed support for Biden.

Driving home I swung through Huntington Beach and found lots of houses bedecked with bunting and several with big TRUMP signs or flags. Again. Biden supporters must have been hiding in their basements (just like their man).

This is purely anecdotal but honestly, I've never seen such a one-sided political display in OC. I'm really starting to believe that the normals have had ENOUGH OF THIS SHIT and they're going to turn out for Trump in some really big numbers.

I'll go out on a limb and predict that Biden is heading for a train wreck, along with his disgusting party of terrorists.

No cops patrolling tonight. Last night we watched the cops cruise back and forth for a couple hours trying to find the guy that was setting off BIG BOOMS on a regular basis....city must of got an earful from the local Karens about those..... hehe

Fireworks are good harmless fun......as long as somebody doesn't lose an eye....or finger.....or a toe.....um.....eh......or their dangly bits. Yikes. Be careful with the splodey stuff out there Horde.

Happy 4th!!

352 I suspect the "secondary" death rate from the idiotic overreaction to wuhan flu ought to classify this whole sordid ordeal as an epidemic of stupidity...

My favorite part is where the Tyrants require the face diaper even though right on the box it says "Does not protect against Covid".

So we have three possibilities here:

1) The Veil protects no one.
2) The Veil protects you.
3) The Veil protects others.
(both 2 & 3 is possible)

The first one we toss out because how does one justify wearing a device that everyone agrees does not good?

The second one is falsifiable if the wearer still comes down with Covid.

The third is the one our betters are using since it is not falsifiable. That is, if people get the 'rona despite you wearing The Veil the argument is "they got it from that guy over there not wearing The Veil".

There is no way for the individual to confirm the efficacy of wearing the face diaper.

Yet another way to know it has nothing to do with public health and safety, and all about power and control.

They instantly stopped what they were doing because his car looked like an unmarked highway patrol car.

After a few moments of nothing happening, he rolled down the window and yelled/slurred "Keep it up man, don't stop what your doin!"

Then he proceeded to do maneuvers in a drunken manner. and eventually left.

Because the Big Civic Authorities/Government Numpties aren't doing the show, the Citizens have said, "Fukkit, hold my beer. WE'LL show you what fireworks are all about!"

And instead of passively watching the Government Show, the citizens are not only doing their own thing, freedom-style, but HEARING from other parts of the field that Americans are alive and well and Fed Up to the Back Teeth with all this control-freak shit. Because sound waves travel, baby. This is better than the jungle telegram: hearing all that defiant celebration is red-pilling millions from coast to coast!
Another anecdote: a friend of mine in New York City says that THREE women she knows who are staunch Democrats and "hated Trump" the last election have now said they are rethinking everything because of the Lockdown and the Riots -- and beginning to discover they've been lied to all their lives and they are definitely going to Vote for Trump this fall.
In fact, two of them said they had had vivid dreams that God told them Trump is "chosen," and they Must vote for him [as president, not a prophet or anything.] And that the dreams were so vivid, they dare not disobey.
There is something in the Zeitgeist, friends....

It was the last 30 seconds this morning before I left the house. Running around turning off lights, checking locks. Heard water running somewhere -- what's on? Looked at the floor -- hot water all over the place. Dove under the kitchen sink.

Some line has detached and it's fsshhking around shooting hot water all over soaking me, I can't even see to get to whatever valve I need to shut off. I start yanking things out from under the sink blindly until I can feel my way around the bottom and I start turning things. Finally it's the valve. It's off.

I just got home and fvck, I wish I knew how to reconnect lines like that. I think whatever went wrong happened about two months ago when I got a new dishwasher installed.

Damn I wish I was handy.

470 Had a weird wind event here today. Right around 3:00 P.M. it clouded over, and thunder could be heard. I was getting set to make a run to the dump, but I had to put the golf cart in the barn, so it wouldn't get rained upon. Drove it in the barn, got off it, and the skies opened up with rain. Made a mad dash to the Suburban, dog was already aboard. Drove to the dump, and the storm followed me there, about 4 miles. Now the wind was blowing so hard, I had to force the driver's door open to exit the truck. Went around back to throw the trash bag in the bin, and when I opened the barn door on the 'burb, the wind whipped it right out of my hand, and then slammed it closed again, clocking me on the back of my left hand in the process. Took a little hide off, but no blood.

The wind was fierce, taking small limbs off the trees. I went and hid out in the bar for an hour, and spent time with friends there. By the time I got home, it was nice again, so I fed the dog, and spent an hour on the riding mower. But I noticed stuff had been blown over. Some scrap truck doors. some steel shelving leaned up against the north wall of the shop.

Weirdly, there was a tub near the garage that was full of empty cans and bottles. They all got blown out, but the tub remained upright, and the empties only went a yard or two. Must have been a vertical microburst did that.

489 I hope everyone had a great Independence Day.

At Casa de Clinger, we made homemade ice cream that we took to the church, where our Pastor read the DoI, a fellow parishioner read Patrick Henry's A Call to Arms and I got to honor grill hot dogs for 3 dozen military veterans and police officers.

Later, Little and my nephew and I went to watch the fireworks, which the citizens of our county organized to put on and fund because the leftoid Mayor of the city that usually puts on fireworks kiboshed the usual celebration over the alleged COVID threat.

As we watched the fireworks, nephew, Little and I discussed contingency plans in the event of a total societal breakdown where the two of them discussed wood burning generators, the availability of AK-47 rounds versus AR-15 rounds, and how to set explosive devices to blow the bridge near where our position would be.For my part, I chimed in that we would need to identify leadership targets instead of simply picking off the liberal zombies at the gate, soft lawyerly targets first.

It's was an all-around great American day.

Happy Birthday America and JJ Sefton!

Chevron "Blazo" was the popular brand of white gas here in Alaska for many years. No longer readily available. Old-timers swear it was way better than Coleman fuel (plus you could buy it in bulk, while Coleman fuel is usually packaged for small retail sales).

There's many an old cabin with kitchen cabinets made from wooden Blazo crates, and shingled with flattened-out Blazo cans.

There was a Barona guy at a shootin' match a few years back. He talked about how great it was, he and few buddies had set up their own range and steels area at the reservation.

We brainstormed during the match, and I thought convinced him that a nice shooting range, tailored towards fun and people who'd pay $ for it - steels matches, interactive targets, etc - would be a great business idea for the reservation. Never saw him at a match again, but I wonder if he brought it up with the tribal council.

Fascinating evening.

Sitting high on a hill on the back patio of a hotel overlooking the river valley. The entire valley is full of privately shot off fireworks some very high-quality. The municipal show starts in 20 minutes.

two tables away a mixed group of guys and gals are discussing the benefits vs downsides of Crimson Trace laser grips.

the soccer moms at the table in front of me, who look very much like Karen, but aren't, are keeping an eye on the little ones while discussing which kind of alcohol makes them the most horny. Too bad I'm married... High value targets here tonight.

little ones are at the edge of the property absolutely fascinated by all of the fireworks down in the valley.

Weather is perfect.

Despite being in Idaho, none of Aces ubiquitous klansmen boogeymen are present. mostly whites a couple blacks a couple Asians and a couple mutts are in the group. all are totally integrated and happily chatting with each other sharing food and booze.

I love my country more than ever.

Posted by: rhomboid at July 05, 2020 12:34 AM (El6T/)

Yeah I was wondering about that seeing I'm only about 1/2 hour from DC by plane. They flew over somewhere around 3:30 give or take. It was pretty sunny and they were flying somewhat in the direction of the sun, so it was a little hard to see exactly what the planes were. There were probably 4 fighters in the first pack in a fairly tight formation, almost like the f-22s that were in DC. The commercial looking plane I couldn't make out. It might have been a tanker, which might make sense. Not sure what fighters were on the wings of the B2, or they few that came after. Maybe they were the F-15, 2 escorting the B2, and 2 flying behind. I would have been able to identify them all if it wasn't for the sun. It was really something to see though.

584 So update on the popcorn dilemma.

I think the problem was when I added the margarine it cooled the oil, and although it came back up to full temperature, it took too long. The kernels need quick heat to pop.

I tried again today with oil and all popped no problem. Then I tried again using the kernels which would not pop yesterday, and they too all popped! (I only did this because i had a couple old kernels stuck to the spoon and they popped unexpectedly.)

I still need to work on technique since they pop too quick and the ones on top don't get any sugar coating.

611 You have to read this in a sort of "frozen tundra of Lambeau field" voice. The year was 1999 and I was a captain in the U.S. Army reserve (JAG, to be specific, transfer from signal corps). I was assigned to prosecute a sergeant (E-5) who had popped hot (tested positive) for methamphetamine. Funnily, defense counsel was the great, great granddaughter of Fort Ord (well, the Edward Otho Cresap Ord who was the fort's namesake) and her father had been a client of mine (well, he was my boss's client but I knew him and worked on the cases -- Ord was a well-known tax attorney). Anyhoo, it's a slam dunk, right? Well, my JAG boss told me to be careful because the soldier was Latino and blah blah blah. (Apparently, he was otherwise an ok soldier and well-liked; he just got caught cranking it, so to speak.) So my judge panel is two reserve majors and an active LTC. The accused's defense was that he was overweight, being pressured to lose weight and improve his physical fitness, so he went down to Mexico to buy diet aids. He admitted that he spoke Spanish but he couldn't read the label on the product because there wasn't one -- he just asked the guy at the farmacia for something to help him lose weight and took what he was offered. The guy put on a real sob story - didn't know what it was and had to get in shape. So my argument wasn't so much that he popped hot -- let's take his accidental BS at face value -- he demonstrated a gross inability to perform at the level of sergeant by taking an unknown medication in a foreign country without making any attempt to find out what it was or to seek help in this country first. I lost 2-1. The LTC (my vote) basically lauded my performance but told me that I had no chance to win because of PC. It was one of those "I don't get paid enough for this aggravation" to stay in (there's more though). Overall, I'm glad I served. I can talk the talk, walk the walk, and call for artillery.

It's the gummies that are unobtainium. Kind of odd. You'd think the company would, you know, want to sell MORE.

And if you know the Japanese Starburst - Hi-Chew - they have a shikuwasa flavor, apparently, but I've never had it, and never seen it in Japanese stores in the US.

663 Was supposed to play poker Friday night. The COVID "spike" scared two of our number enough to bow out. I was saddened and pissed. Bought a rack of St Louis ribs for the 4th, then reached out to the host of our now-cancelled get together. Took him a few hours to get his bearings and accept my offer.

He arrived with his son at 2. I wrapped the ribs in foil and added fresh coals for another hour to sweat them as we hit the community pool. Met some neighbors and enjoyed a blissful time of non-COVID recreation. A couple with two very young kids carried on in the way of parents from the time before the Tyranny. It was a healing time for me and my friend.

At around 4PM, I unwrapped the ribs and mopped them with my sauce, adding more coals to cook it in. My friend brought a Ravage cabernet that he strongly suggested I serve with the ribs.

The ribs were ethereal (no surprise, really - I've done this a time or two). We mourned our friend's weaknesses, praised God for our good health and fortune, and recovered a wonderful 4th of July from what could have been a depressing day of isolation.

I
like the Willie Nelson Version. BTW, because of this commentary I
revisited a song I knew I did not like but a lot of
conservative/libertarian commenters on the web seem to like. I Just
listened to Alice's Restaurant.

I
have in the past, particularly during the W years referred to myself as
a libertarian-conservative. Some here used to take shots at
libertarians for various reasons. I am not a Libertarian or even close
to one. I am still a libertarian-conservative because that
differentiates my views from the worn out views of W, Frist, the old
Huckabee, Virgil Goode and Ridge.

With
all that being said. I don't get why many love that song Alice's
Restaurant. I guess it is idealistic is some ways, but no better than
Imagine by Lennon. It is nihilist to me and nothing more. I would say
more but it will only get more caustic. I will leave it at the point
where I say I do not like that song.

"It may be this sound," But there is none of the mayhem, slaughter and horror like what your brother went through in Iraq and the Afgan." it is always out there to do. The only country in Western Europe i have not been to is Portugal. Of course I define W. Europe in my own way lol. I guess I should count Austria, Andorra, and San Marino to be technical about it.

I do want to go to Portugal for sure. I could hang out in the Madeira island and well, drink a lot of Madeira.

737 Actually, firing off fireworks to "ward off" C19 is a perfect concept, and just as effective (and worthwhile) as 98% of the measures being taken today for that alleged purpose.

But fireworks at least are fun, and don't cause social and economic harm.

Sir-

Sparkling white wine from USSR/Russia.

Called "Shampanski" but cannot say that on the label because of conditions of French support for New USSR in the 20's.

I am not much of a champagne drinker, but the dry version is not bad.

It was a staple of underage drinkers in the Hungarian People's Republic. They still sell it today with the same label (modified to EU requirements).

i am not so sure there was one. Not saying there wasn't but I don't recall a vote with two choices. Sure there was a second in theory.

So here is my factoid. Francis Scott Key's son was murdered by the infamous Union General Daniel Sickles. Sickles was one of the first in Western Law to successfully argue the defense of temporary insanity. After that, he rose even higher and became one of the most colorful Americans in history. Read a Sickles bio and you will not be disappointed.

743 Miklos the "pol-sukhoi" (medium dry) version was the first course in many night-long alcohol debauches in the USSR in my first time there. Even the girls could drink that.

After that it was right on to cheap vodka (normal Soviet stuff, 3 rubles, "3 on a bottle").

I didn't drink all that much - some people on the program matched our Russian friends, it was unbelievable.

Early lesson, well learned-

Do NOT attempt to out drink a Russian on vodka (or a Finn for that matter)

Bring a bottle of bourbon, which being an acquired taste, allows the American to out-drink the Rooskie (once).

Take your trophy and go home.

If I recall correctly in my Russian/USSR studies. The Commissars made a push to plant a lot of vineyards so as to get people more into wine and less into the water of life. I think the higher ups did the same thing in Australia at one point decades ago. . That place makes a lot of wine these days.
