EMT 6/27/20 Prepping the Mind, ep 1: Walk Away

I'm not sure if I'll really make a series of these. It is well known that am comically averse to content.

But I believe it's tremendously helpful to think about things that might happen, and train the brain with some preset pathways that might help me in times of high stress.

I'm not going to pretend I have a lot of answers, much less the right ones. But at the very least maybe it could encourage readers to suss out their own answers for some hard decisions that may come up in anyone's life.

In these times when an attack can come from anywhere, I am reminded of the words of my martial arts instructor, himself ex IDF Special Forces, during knife defense training.

"Come at you with knife, take knife, put knife in neck, walk away."

I remember thinking how that was really bad advice for us in the U.S.

Not the put in neck part, but the walk away part.

Forensics would find you right? And if it did, you had to explain why you left and didn't report anything.

Many years later, and in the growing heat of a coalescing civil war the Left seems all to eager to bring on; and where the authorities seem all to willing to ignore the atrocities of the Left's open thuggery, well, I am much more inclined to his philosophy.

At this stage, I feel like I have a better chance dodging forensics than I do the judicial system.

Let's be real here: If I've learned anything from shows like The Forensics Files and The First 48, it's that they don't solve shit. The cops get lucky because most of the murderers on those shows talk to someone about their immoral act, who, out of higher morals or personal gain, give the cops a tip. And Forensics is simply taking what often appears to be very, shall we say "fortunate", pieces of evidence found in the perp's possessions that make the case.

So yeah, walk away. Burn your clothes. Buff out the dents in the car if you have to drive your way through a mob. Lose the sidearm.

Don't volunteer yourself to the authorities. They want to prosecute someone, and when there is only one survivor, their choices are slim and dead, Slim. You can rightly claim you were defending yourself. Well, to the cops, there's you, a dead guy, and no witnesses.

So most of all: Don't talk. Especially to cops without a lawyer. You are going to get arrested most likely, and then dragged through months of trial, ruinous financial burdens, and depending on the bad guy's color or lifestyle, made a pariah by local and possibly national press.

Well, what has talking saved you that you wouldn't have gone through by not talking and then them somehow tracking you down?

This isn't advice on getting away with murder. My best advice for that is to become a BLM activist. That is not a joke.

This is just my gut take now on surviving an encounter with a real threat to your life, and then surviving an unbalanced judicial system.

Will you feel some sense of guilt? Yes I guess if you aren't a sociopath. You've been brought up to respect authority and follow the law. You've ended a life, no matter how deserving or how unavoidable. That's likely going to sting.

But remember, the cops get to shoot and kill people, often innocent people, because they want to go home to their families at the end of shift.

Your family deserves no less.

If tracked down and tried, your legal defense would be the images of BLM & antifa violence on the news. With luck, you live in a jurisdiction where your jury of peers sees the same images and feels the same sense of fear of a mob, and sense of suspicion in a judicial system that seems all to willing to bend to media pressure instead of follow the law.

Obviously every situation is different. Obviously there are times and places where walking away wouldn't be an option.

I'm just saying: If you ever find yourself in a situation where there's you, a dead attacker, and walking away is an option, it is worth real consideration.

Tells local governments to protect them with those who do not having federal funds denied to them for local law enforcement, and provides for long prison terms for people desecrating them. That will halt the blue city taps on the wrist they normally hand out to these rioters.

At this stage of the race between Scankles and Trump these 'polls' had Scankles up by 15 points yet she lost. The Morons may have noted I no longer put in any posts about polls of any kind. The mentality will get there soon (see also: school system, boy scouts, gay marriage, etc), but - as I've said often - it's going to regardless. Trump is just a speed bump. It sucks, but that's the truth. We're getting socialism. It's just a matter of speed.

What's the best approach to prepare? I don't know. Small rural areas with small rural concerns. Sheriffs that know society is broken, too.

30 days of food and water might not be a terrible idea, either. Holing up and waiting to see how things pan out might come in handy at some point.

34 Nobody talks about cash, but black people understand cash," Johnson told Fox News.

Under his proposal, an estimated 40 million African-Americans would get $350,000 in direct cash payments over 30 years (costing the average taxpayer roughly $2,900 a year, according to his office). The $350,000 would signify the wealth disparity between African-Americans and white Americans.

Still, does it warrant the panic? TX doesn't give an actual number by age, it's a graph. The graph shows that deaths are high in the 70 and up age groups.

When I moved up to Oldsmobiles, Mercedes, and Buicks, the cars got a weekly washing, and when I discovered spray "Wax-As-U-Dry" wax, they got that too.

With all the cameras around, potential eyewitnesses, and chance of leaving some incriminating evidence at the scene, most times I would not just walk away.

After declaring his "innocence" on Twitter, Ron Jeremy officially pleaded not guilty to multiple felony sex crimes, Yahoo Entertainment can confirm. The former adult film star, who appeared in a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday, remains in custody. His bail was previously set at $6.6 million.

On Tuesday, Jeremy was charged with raping three women and sexually assaulting a fourth in separate incidents dating back to 2014. In total, he was charged with eight counts of forcible rape, forcible oral copulation and sexual battery.

In court on Friday, Jeremy's attorney said his client "never, in his life, had sex with a female through force or duress," per the Los Angeles Times. Authorities have received 25 new complaints of sexual misconduct against Jeremy this week since his arrest made news.

Ideologically this is correct because it stands for nothing. From 2017-2019 they had control of everything and didn't pass a fucking thing except a halfassed tax cut. Ryan torpedoed Trump and Devin Nunes every chance he had unlike Pelosi who goes out of her way to shield Nadler and Schiff. I'd like to blame Rove for this but it existed way before he did as George Romney, Nelson Rockefeller and William Scranton refused to support Barry Goldwater.

Do they even bother putting together a platform? It's like the junior partner of the Uniparty.

166 One thing I learned in my gun class, and I don't know if it's state-specific, is that cops can follow up your request for a lawyer with a seemingly innocuous question. Like, how long have you lived here? And if you answer it, you just negated your request for a lawyer, and they can continue to question you. So you basically have to answer EVERY question with, "I want to speak to an attorney."

Posted by: krakatoa at 06:00 AM

Um...I have to disagree on the "often innocent people" characterization of police shootings. That implies that the majority of police shootings are unjustified. The standard of using deadly force is a reasonable fear of serious physical harm or death.

The serious physical harm portion of the standard is why unarmed persons get themselves shot: they are almost invariably violently resisting arrest and the police officer is now fearful of getting incapacitated due to serious injuries. Police officers aren't paid to get an a$$ beating.

Despite what the Marxists claim, incidents of people innocently minding their own business and then getting killed by the police is extremely rare. When it happens, that's why it becomes national news. That's why police across the U.S. were stunned by Chauvin's actions: Floyd had stopped resisting and Chauvin should have de-escalated his use of force.

179 The following goes back to Dean Ing and two of his books - Pulling Through and Chernobyl Syndrome.

Bugging out of an urban area, have a three stage plan.
1. Smartly pack a vehicle with what you need.
2. Stash in the vehicle your stage 2 escape vehicle - bicycles and smaller packs in case the vehicle can't escape.
3. Finally stage 3 - a backpack of essentials in case bicycles are no longer viable for escape.

A couple more bits of advice from Dean Ing.

Don't paint your Stage One vehicle in survival colors and advertise what its for, just go with nondescript.

Be nondescript yourself, don't flash any reason for thugs to stop you and rob you before killing you.

If you are in a city apartment, then now is the time to connect with that rural friend or relative and make plans to relocate if it looks like you'll have to. Maybe move a few heirlooms that you don't *need* but want to prevent being looted or destroyed.

But in most cases, you are better off staying where you know the local geography, neighbors and have a stock of supplies. Refugees historically fare poorly.

It's possible.

It's also possible that Barr wants the charges to stick. Everyone overlooks that Flynn's case was dismissed and almost all of Mueller's other "cases" have collapsed. It was all about new bites, never about putting people away.

If you want people to do hard time, you have to build a solid case and these guys had years to cover their tracks. Yes, it will be fun to watch perp walks, but if the bastards get acquitted, it's all for naught.

230 I think the MFM and the Democrap party consider vote by mail for the November election now a fait accompli. Look at all the people whose risk is relatively low, whose states are relatively low and are still militant on wearing their sheep masks. Way too many have seriously bought into this as some kind of flying AIDS virus. They'll gladly go all-in for vote by mail. It's a huge worry for me. Not so much here in SC, but in all those crucial swing states.

https://tinyurl.com/ydhpozla

Posted by: Vic at June 27, 2020 06:07 AM

Yep, number of cases is irrelevant out of context.

Especially if the only reason for the "surge" in cases is that there is a surge in testing, now that lockdowns are over and people feel they can safely go get tested.

The only thing that is supposed to matter regarding a lockdown is hospitalizations.

And if hospitalizations are not overwhelming the local hospitals, then number of cases is irrelevant.

Remember when the shutdown justification narrative was "slow the spread" way back just 3 months ago?

Hell, even that was wrong, because the assumption was that we needed to "slow the spread", because this was some deadly virus that was going to overwhelm hospitals. But, it's not.

Months later, after hospitals have laid off workers and no hospital anywhere in the country is overwhelmed, we're still having them try to freak us out with "surge of cases!"

Ridiculous propaganda and hysteria.

Well, Hillary did win the nationwide popular vote.

The key to Trump's victory was winning key battleground states by extremely slim margins.

PA (20 EV): 44,000 votes (0.72%)
WI (10 EV): 13,000 votes (0.77%)
MI: (16 EV): 10,000 votes (0.23%)
FL: (29 EV): 112,000 votes (1.2%)

That is 75 electoral votes earned by winning 4 states by 1% or less.

That is how close we came to Hillary Clinton as President.

You flip those 4 states to Hillary and the EV count ends up 302-229 in favor of Hillary.

So, yeah, the polls are garbage, but if the electorate has not changed much over the past 3+ years, then those 4 states are up for grabs, being within the margin for fraud. And we're in for the fight of our lives to win this election.

297 krakatoa, thank you for starting this topic.

This is good advice:

"67 Paul Harrel is an expert gun guy with a utube channel. He says: make a phone call to police before the bad guys do; cops often (dare I say, stupidly) believe the first person to make a call. Cops can make the initial encounter unpleasant.

"With all the cameras around, potential eyewitnesses, and chance of leaving some incriminating evidence at the scene, most times I would not just walk away."

Also, good advice:

Learn and think really hard about how to NOT get into that situation. Because, in that situation, even in the best case, you are badly f'd. Be willing and ready to walk away from places and things that could lead to that situation.

Correct: this all Marxist theater with a few thousand participants being shuttled around about a half-dozen big cities ruled by Dem mayors inside states ruled by Dem governors. These anti-America riots are being facilitated by Democrats.

It looks bad, but this is still strictly a law enforcement (as opposed to a military) problem. President Trump has offered these Donk politicians a life-line but they've batted it away. Now he's letting the residents of these cities "enjoy" the results of the policies espoused by the people they keep electing. It sucks, bigly, especially for the rational folks trapped behind enemy lines, but the normies aren't going to like the image of the U.S. military greasing the treads of their armored vehicles in the guts of commies right now.

It sounds like there is a pretty big number of cases being pursued by the federal DOJ. The whining coming from the Commies about federal charges is a clue that they expected the usual complicity from the Donk politicians, but AG Barr pulled rank and said LOLGF.

I was honestly so hopeful on election night 2016. Pessimistic as I naturally tend to be, even I had no clue how deep the rot was because it's not only the D's who are thoroughly corrupt. Most of the GOP seems to be, too. How can we unelect a GOP body of legislators piecemeal and have any effect at all with the entrenched GOPe that are already there in positions of power? I wish we could go in and overturn all the tables like that black guy in the video the other day. But it doesn't work like that.

Minnesota is basically the same. The reason for this, at least here, is because the dates don't reflect the date of death, but the date the death was reported. Since most people reporting the deaths don't work over the weekend, totals drop way of on Monday (Monday's report shows Sunday's reported deaths). You see midweek spikes as reporting gets caught up.

So, the right move is to use the American Principle of Federalism and let the Blue Holes stew in their own juices.

This is not a PR win for their information operation.

Trump or his people need to be pointing this out with regularity.

And it's never to early to start showing people the real life damage and costs of these cynical, stupid riots.

Get Black home owners and business owners who were burned out on camera to talk about their pain, to tell what they think of all the BLM and Antifa types rioting and burning down their cities.

Get them to tell what they think of the Democrat politicians who called off the police, praised the rioters and let their cities burn.

The United States Federal Government sent me to a Middle Eastern shithole to fight a half-assed antiterrorism war that they had neither the sack or the political capital to win. I learned many things and arrived at many conclusions while I was there.

Now, I find myself watching quietly as my country's "elites" ruthlessly sic their underclass minions on those of us who actually keep the country moving, to oppress them to gain supreme power, to enact their asinine utopian visions.

The elites aren't nearly as smart as they think they are; the underclass is three weeks of no power and cut water mains from death. I do not want what I fear might be coming, to come here. But if it does, I will not be stuck here with them--They will be stuck here with ME.

For everything else, harden your heart, prepare to live without peace, and mentally prepare yourself that evil exists and that good men and women must extinguish it, wherever they find it.

376 Maybe let's think about it another way:

Trump, by my estimation, is apparently not acting to save himself or his "political career" (such as it is). He's acting to save his country.

Sure, he could come down with the hammer with prosecutions, and he might actually win and get a minor bump in popularity for a handful of perp-walks and sentences... but that's not going to fix the problem.

"Progressivism" has to be reclaimed from the totalitarian Left, and placed back in the hands of a Progressive Liberal center-left party. The Democratic Party has long abandoned any pretense at being center-left, and (even just anecdotally speaking) the Democrat electorate knows it.

But they go along because they don't feel they have any other options. The psychology appears to be, "Yes, my party seems to be going off the rails, but we only have to get through this mess, and we can go back to sanity once the Orange Sauron has been defeated".

Progressive Liberals have lost their home, politically. Convincing them that the current Democratic Party is antithetical to their own beliefs must be Job #1.

Current events, if my optimism is correct, are doing a very good job at accomplishing that. We just have to hope that they eventually realize that "saying mean things on Twitter" is nowhere near as deleterious to their health and welfare as "roving death squads of DNC-funded Anarchists". Crazy, I know.

Similarly, I take a dim view on having reloads on your person because someone carrying 30-45 rounds is going to have a hard time explaining that they didn't expect to have to shoot it.

In mid-March I told my friends that eventually, everyone in the country will inhale some of the damned virus cells. Those who it will make sick, will get sick. Those who it does not make sick will not get sick. I believe my prognosis is still valid. I will bet my house that Fauchi, Birx, and all the other docs know this and have told Trump, but they don't believe the citizenry can handle the truth. Their plan is to try to string-out the sicknesses until a vaccine is available.

Flattening the curve was only a stop-gap. But all it did, and all these new bar closures will do, is change the shape of the curve of sicknesses over time. Social distancing and mask-wearing will change the area under the curve - total sicknesses in the US - without a vaccine or a miracle.

The only truly good news is that the docs are doing everything they can to reduce deaths, using Remdesivir, hydroxychloroquine, and other stuff for those who get sick. This may be a larger factor in the reducing death rate than all of the lockdown theater is.

394 The important thing, is that if you kill somebody attacking you, that is self defense, which is justifiable homicide. The Biblical prohibition is not against killing, in fact God instructed the Israelites to kill one tribe of people down to the last woman and child, and their failure to do so cost them dearly. The biblical prohibition is against murder.
That the psychopaths we have for DA's will prosecute you for murder, does not make you a murderer.

If you carry a cell phone, and who doesn't, keep it turned off when out of your house, as you can be tracked and identified with it. There is the most important forensic evidence against you - which would put you at the location of the death. If you do have a cell phone, and it is on, call 911, ask for an ambulance and call your self defense insurance company , USCCA, Law Shield, whoever. That's from a cop perspective, with a cop's qualified immunity to fall back on. I have the permit, but don't yet carry; risks outweigh the benefits - for now.

Barrel, firing pin and extractor are the parts that make identifying impressions on the bullet and casing

for some guns the barrel also has the gun serial #, run with the spare

416 It just so happens that I've been having a running discussion with a friend about what should happen if the street blockings and violent assaults were to come to my neck of the woods. I've always felt pretty certain that if someone tried to smash the windows of my car or assault me here in Texas we have the castle doctrine and defending myself would be a no-brainer to the police and to the courts. after all it was just two or three years ago when a guy I saw someone burgling his neighbor's shed the guy took off running and he shot him dead and nothing happened to him because you can defend not only your life and property but also that of your neighbors. My friend seems to think that with all the craziness that's just happened in the last couple of years that even in Texas we may have legal issues in defending oneself. I hope he's wrong but I'm afraid that in some liberal hellhole like Houston Dallas San Antonio or Austin that he may be right

Posted by: Happy at June 27, 2020 10:16 AM (zGrBH)

417 If tracked down and tried, your legal defense would be the images of BLM & antifa violence on the news. With luck, you live in a jurisdiction where your jury of peers sees the same images and feels the same sense of fear of a mob, and sense of suspicion in a judicial system that seems all to willing to bend to media pressure instead of follow the law.

*****

I think I understand what you are saying here.

But...I don't know if a judge is going to let you bring all that in to the trial.

I think he will exclude a lot of that as not being "evidence" and will confine you a lot more than you think in terms of what you can say/bring in front of the jury.

422 My 2 cents from a long time lurker. I live in very red state. Lucky for us before shit hit the fan we bought 10 acres in country and moved out of town. We live a whole area of like minded neighbors and all have guns. On hill with great line of sight. I grew up on farm so I feel somewhat more prepared than most. Neighbors have gardens and chickens. We have water and food for several days so could get by without electricity and city water. And a creek on our property. Get tablets to sanitize water or be able to build fire to boil. We have in ground tanks of natural gas for heat. Most BLM and Antifa are in minority and are urbanites. Not very equipped for a rural fight. We outnumber them. I am also a ChemEngr. If you can get HF acid you will leave no trace of bodies. Lime works too. Bone and teeth gone. Thought about this for a while. Hunted since I was 6. If you are in an urban area of a blue state think about how you can leave if any way possible. Stay positive. You have a community at AofS. We would take folks in if they had to flee. For us, if all else fails my parents have 200 acres of extreme rural farmland with a well and creek. Desperate people survive. Be of good cheer and do not put your faith in govt. Be there for each other. Oh and K, take your knife after. Leave no evidence behind. Luv ya all.

423 Shit, I wasn't raised to respect authority or follow the law.

I was raised to do the right thing. Where those other things coincide with that, fine.

But they rarely do anymore. I'm utterly unconcerned with what the law may or may not say. And while I fear the authorities, my feelings for them on an institutional basis are as far from "respect" as heaven is wide.

424 Krakatoa has outlined a strategy for dealing with the legal system if you have to kill someone in self-defense.

My two cents?

This could work...IF you are in a dark alley...with no security cameras...you and the dead guy have no common background together...no readily identifiable reason for both of you to be in this spot...no witnesses with or without cell phones...

Then?

If you never come under police scrutiny...meaning they are looking down at a dead body scratching their heads...and after 48 hours of homicide investigation...your name doesn't come up at all...

This could work.

BUT...and this is a big but...

If you have come up in almost any way...

This strategy has a very high chance of changing this from a possible self-defense to an almost certain slam-dunk 1st degree murder.

And you will eat that murder charge...all of it...or you will plead down to some serious lesser felonies and do a lot of years.

Bottom line...

Krakatoa's strategy here is *highly* situational dependent. Meaning that in only a very few situations is it going to pay off. In the vast majority of them...this is going to lead to a slam dunk first degree murder.

Now, Krakatoa *didn't* portray it this way, but this strategy works a lot better for a deliberate murder.

If there is someone you have decided you are going to kill someone yourself, for whatever reason, well this is a way to do it.

Set up the situation so you are in a favorable position, and *bam!* put a bunch of holes in the guy, walk away, dispose of the evidence (murder weapon, blood, DNA, clothes) and then wait to see if you get a call/knock on the door from the cops.

If you don't, ok.

If you do, just remember one word.

"Abogado".

426 This is one of those situations where a supportive community can make a big difference. All those CSI and forensics shows make a fetish of preserving the crime scene. What would happen if 20 allies rushed over and immediately messed up a crime scene before the police arrived? Twenty different sets of fingerprints, DNA, tracks trampling everything. It would be difficult to single out the perpetrator in that chaos. And there'd be a perfectly innocent explanation: "We were just trying to help!" I mean, bystanders can't be expected to behave like professionals.

428 It's true to say the West is in bad shape but those Americans who believe that the EU is as degraded as the US are delusional.
Socialism in Europe is not he same dish being served up to you.
In 30 to 40 years we will be as diverse as you but for people like yourselves facing this tumult you might consider that nothing in Europe, quantitatively, compares to the tribulations besetting you.
In physics and mathematics quality is a euphimism for a lot of quantity. You change the quantity enough you change the nature of the phenomenon. Just because Europe has some of the problems you have does not mean we are in your predicament becuase the quantity is much reduced.
Bonne chance!
