Woman in Fredricksburg, VA Calls 911, Complaining That Violent Thugs Are Blocking Her Car and Jumping on It; 911 Tells Her The Police Have Been Ordered to Let the Terrorists Do What They Want

This mayor subsequently apologized -- to the protesters, for allowing the police to disperse them earlier.

"Imaginary:"

Government and police are straight-up telling people that they're on their own and will have to rely exclusively on self-help to defend their bodies, their property, and their freedom.

Good luck trying to get convictions against them after you've told them that they literally have no other recourse than pulling out a gun.

I'd vote for it. Party-line. If the stance is, "these people - all of them - have fucked up so catastrophically that they need to be replaced wholesale. Amateur Hour would be better than these professionals" then I'd vote for them party-line. They wouldn't even need a platform.

That's like blaming him for New York's nursing home policy. 2) The Democrats thought they could bait Trump into cracking down so their pet media could scream about militaristic fascism for six months.

But he didn't. And the troubles they expected him to crush just grew and grew and grew.

And these aren't national troubles. These are confined to certain localities, all of which are--shocking!--run by Democrats. Does he think no one notices that?

OK, this touches a personal nerve.

I know I've bitched about this many times. But here in Denver, our City Hall ordered cops to undercharge illegals for DV and DUI so they wouldn't get felonies and be automatically handed over to ICE after their "sentences."

When you see street level police agencies openly enforcing two different sets of law for the benefit of the local politicians, and those politicians get re-elected, that's very bad.

Add in the element of large-scale street violence to that mix during an election year, and I start getting this weird "Weimar '32" feeling.

I have a question about this. I know they have no duty to protect. That is settled law, as contemptible as it is.

Do they, though, have a duty to do their jobs at *all?* Because having no affirmative obligation to protect is quite different from not having to do *anything* at all. When they stand by and do nothing - don't make arrests, don't investigate, don't touch the Anointed Left, refuse to investigate anything but still hand out speeding tickets, etc., then what is that?

I think there is a strong argument to be made that these police departments are in black-letter breach of contract. What the hell *is* their job, anyway? They certainly aren't doing it, and their executive leadership should be sacked. Mine would be if my company never upheld an agreement.

Trump looks like he's disengaged, he's looked like that ever since Mattis and Milley stabbed him in the back over the Lafayette Park incident. That's what Rush said today, and I think Rush is onto something there.

Reagan would be on TV every night, telling the people what was going on, what was wrong with it. Reagan would be naming who was causing it, telling people they needed to rise up and oppose it. That's what leadership is about, that's what is missing right now.

104 We'll see soon enough but the degradation of the country will most likely "trap" the swath of voters clueless enough to be "swing" voters on Trump's side. No matter what he does/doesn't do. That's pre-cooked. Dems were already, generally, on the side of racist authoritarian degradation, Trump was already, very much, on the "normal" side of law and order, respecting American symbols and traditions, etc.

Overall conditions are likely to make Trump's re-election very likely regardless, by November.

But getting the votes of "trapped" voters is no accomplishment nor does it mean much for what follows.

The worse the Dems get, the worse the GOP can, and will, become (worse = less useful, more seat-warming, more duplicitous, weak, etc). Why? Because - "what are you going to do, for THEM????!".

105 OK, this touches a personal nerve.

Yes. This. It is *very* bad and the double standard in policing is grotesque. It is a black-letter 14th amendment violation.

I am white. Like lily white. Obviously not Latino. If I creep over the speed limit or forget to signal, I get an expensive ticket. If I were to drive drunk, I'd go to jail and be out 10 grand. As a citizen, I have *no* recourse at all. None.

Yet latinos don't even get charged or ticketed. The cops don't want to have to go through all the paperwork if it isn't going to stick because the perp is an illegal alien.

It's incredibly perverse. Citizens get *worse* treatment than illegal aliens under sanctuary schemes. It's appalling.

We here know that BLM and antifa are just the Democrats' troops.
People who aren't as plugged in to what's going on and all they see is rampant violence and no action from government at every level. So it's not Trump's fault as a matter of causality, but he's equal in the "not doing anything" category at least visibly.
Sure, there may have been arrests, and there may be ongoing investigations, but until there are results, namely an end to the violence and destruction, those things don't matter. Which is why some of us would prefer a more visible, kinetic response.

I have a question about this. I know they have no duty to protect. That is settled law, as contemptible as it is.

Do they, though, have a duty to do their jobs at *all?* Because
having no affirmative obligation to protect is quite different from not
having to do *anything* at all. When they stand by and do nothing -
don't make arrests, don't investigate, don't touch the Anointed Left,
refuse to investigate anything but still hand out speeding tickets,
etc., then what is that?

I think there is a strong argument to be made that these police
departments are in black-letter breach of contract. What the hell *is*
their job, anyway? They certainly aren't doing it, and their executive
leadership should be sacked. Mine would be if my company never upheld an
agreement.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 26, 2020 05:54 PM (hYcqw)

Bill Barr said this and I agree with him, that 'qualified immunity' is too little immunity for police officers. If a police officer commits a crime, the municipality can do a limited hangout and let the officer take the fall, rather than being held responsible for hiring or fostering criminal officers. Look at Baltimore: instead of Baltimore being held responsible for bad policing, they charged those four officers for something or other, they got off, and there was zero useful reform (the police just got scared and won't patrol some areas.)
If you're going to use voting as the accountability lever, you have to put the important pieces on the table. By reducing police immunity to lawsuits, you place the onus and the responsibility on the police, rather than on who employs then and sets their policies. The way the police are behaving as you've described, Joe, is the natural result of this arrangement.

Since the police have no power to set policy but must bear responsibility for the results of that policy, they do the only safe thing they can do at the moment which is.. nothing.
This is part of why police are so useless in UK as well.

We were packing two handguns, mucho ammo, a couple of knives, a scanner, a first aid kit (which honestly is always there), binoculars and some other assorted "prepping" stuff. For a drive to NC.

We ran into several blacks at rest stops along the way. No issues, no glaring at us, typically just a nod and a smile. Same at the hotel we stayed at. There was an "extended black family" in the room next to ours. Aside from the kids being noisy, but not late at night, nothing.

I think, based on my limited experiences, this whole race war thing is way overblown. The media is really trying to start a race war and the most vocal, militant blacks are getting all the air time.

That said, my "baggage" that included guns, ammo, a scanner, etc. says something.

I was on a jury (not a criminal trial, but a civil case with a distinct racial element) in one our deepest blue cities and saw this happen first hand. Two people openly admitted in the jury room that they intended to obstruct a verdict in the hope of ensuring a settlement down the road for their racial comrade, regardless of the facts.

1) The media was even more monolithic and anti-Republican than it is now. Not only that, but Reagan had a relatively united and homogeneous nation to appeal to.

2) Even if Reagan literally owned the media... dude, this is an op, brought to you by Soros/ Bloomberg and sponsored by the New York Times' advertisers. Tucker gets paychecks signed by the surrender wing of the Uniparty: do you think he wouldn't turn on a dime and condemn the President the minute action was taken? Reagan was good, but he wasn't that good. If anything, the "success" of the Lebanon intervention might indicate what Reagan could have expected in a nationwide insurrection.

Trump did a hell of a lot more against ISIS than Reagan did against the Hez, so he's earned quite a bit of benefit doubt-wise.

No, it's a shitshow.

Take a step back and look at it like a normal, less-engaged citizen. You see the mayor/governor who promised you a chicken in every pot all of a sudden deciding to tell the police to just let your business burn to the ground.

You can't even drive your kid to soccer practice without fear.

This is ballot box poison, pure and simple.

People know their local government - they know the idiot in city hall and the twit up in the county courthouse and they can apply direct pressure to them.

Sure, in Chicago and Baltimore, no one cares, but a lot of the places where this is happening are upscale communities. People pay through the nose to get good schools and responsive police.

And it's being taken away. They're been tricked.

My local burg jumped on the "cops bad" bandwagon and even demanded the "school resource officer" be removed.

Yay! Love and virtue!

But the first death threat that school gets (and it will get one) they will shit themselves and demand TWO cops. The first soccer mom who gets her car jumped on will go bananas and DEMAND to know why the police aren't doing something about this.

I listened to the 911 call and its aftermath and as far as I'm concerned the dispatcher has it right. The mayor apologized to the "protestors" after she heard that call. With leadership like that, can you imagine what would have happened if cops had shown up and fixed the situation the only way possible -- with force?

No wonder the dispatcher told the frantic woman to "Call City Hall."

This is the very scenario we've said was the next step. Cops won't respond because they know they'll be hung out to dry, so elected leadership needs to be on the hot seat.

228 Masks are not only useless they are dangerous.

I wore surgical masks daily for 36 years as an anesthesiologist. Their purpose was to reduce the chance that I would infect an open wound with bacteria from my mouth. This article of faith has been shown to be false. If staff who are working outside of the immediate sterile field do not wear masks, there is no increase in wound infections. And this is in a closed environment where staff will be present for hours. This casts a very large cloud of doubt on the utility of masks for COVID-19.
Another problem arises when we look at the use of masks by the public. Even accepting the uncertain premise that masks are useful, "incorrect use and disposal may actually increase the risk of pathogen transmission, rather than reduce it, especially when masks are used by non-professionals such as the lay public." Given that most "masks" are simply kept handy for use when required, set aside, and then re-used, most mask-wearing by the public is likely to increase virus exposure, not reduce it.

Exactly.

The same governors who claim that they *personally save everyone from COVID* are now acting powerless in the face of rioters and sitting on their hands as their cities burn.

And somehow, this will translate into voting for Biden because...why?

These people smashed local landmarks and the cops did nothing. So...Trump is the problem?

Sorry, I'm not seeing that. I think when local citizens see their cities in flames, they want to know why the cops have been told to "take a knee," not why Trump didn't send in paratroopers.

247 I think, based on my limited experiences, this whole race war thing is way overblown. The media is really trying to start a race war and the most vocal, militant blacks are getting all the air time.

Everybody here knows I play music at a club down here that bears the name of an extremely famous blues guitarist whose guitar was named "Lucille." Been playing there off and on ever since it opened nearly a decade ago. The clientele is about 85% black and a healthy mix of locals and tourists.

I've never had even so much as a sideways glance in all that time. Everybody talks to everyone else as the equals we all are as children of God. Even had a lady engage me as I was walking in one time while she was sitting with her husband. She was an elementary school music teacher in Detroit and we had a fascinating conversation about how the study of music can touch on so many other subject like language, poetry, math, physics and so on.

I've also had many conversations that centered on the exasperation of those who seek to divide us for political gain. Everybody can see right through them.

This whole race war is a fabrication of the progressive left and their various propaganda outlets and needs to be called out and denounced for it.

What is most important is that when Trump acts, it accomplishes something tangible.

He wiped out ISIS and if you want to say "well that was military"... then he also stopped NK from provoking the world with rockets, and he did it like he was twirling a ball of yarn. And that was *with* Democrats and Republicans undermining him (from our side and from Kim's) every freaking step of the way.

This right now is the most dangerous enemy our country has ever faced, and it is nothing to him because he knows their weaknesses, he knows what they want, and what they fear. Just sit back and watch.

I do think that Trump's campaign is missing an opportunity

by not creating a series of commercials filmed in Blue Holes where the riots and CHAZ-like no go zones are set up -

and show the pictures and the stats and the Black home and business owners who got burned out -

and the Democrats who run those areas letting things get out of hand and calling off the police

And simply say something at the end of the ad like

"This is what happens when you elect Democrats to lead your city (or state),

imagine what would happen if they led them the country."

Then grainy fade to black with sinister music.

Y'know, it seems to me that Trump and his team IS speaking out on these issues in public almost every day. Just because the MFM ignores his statements doesn't mean he isn't giving them.

This is the same pattern we've seen countless times in the last 3 years, commies freak out and make fools of themselves, the right frets about Trump not taking action, commies implode, Trump comes out smelling like a rose with a win and the commies spend the next couple of months looking at each other in confusion at how a boorish Queens reality show host got the better of them.

Considering the track record, I'm willing to go on a little faith.

And the TV is telling them Trump made everything worse by letting all the young people go out and party too early.

I really don't understand this. Have they forgotten the 3 years prior to January 1st? Did Trump not do pretty much everything he promised to do while being framed by an actually corrupt government?

Trump did about as good a job as he could have with the China virus. He moved to shut down travel even before the "experts" told him to and he did an amazing job getting the country up to speed with medical supplies, unprecedented outside of something like WWII. This inner city violence is an obvious OP by the left as a desperation shot to take down Trump since nothing else has worked.

Trump is the President of the United States. He isn't the mayor or governor of Minnesota or any other state. Where appropriate the feds are stepping in but the entire point of this OP is to get Trump to overreach and send in the troops when they are being asked for by the states.

He's dong the right thing even if some people don't like the optics. I sure as hell have no intention of not supporting him over optics after all the fight he has put up. This isn't going to stop until they win or we win.

I have no doubt that is exactly their strategy, which is why I think he's wise to let the situation fester for now.

If he acts now, the Reds will misrepresent what was going on ("it was all peaceful, love, and unicorns, and then TRUMP brutally suppressed it!"). Think of how Oliver Stone (/spit) would portray it.

It's a good idea to let the situation get bad enough that everybody knows it was totally out of hand, and everybody will reject the Oliver Stone version as horseshit. At that point, which must be finely judged, come down on the shitheads like a ton of bricks.

1) He is going after the activist elites, which is why Elisabeth Blumenthal (of course) is in jail on federal charges.

2) The President actually needs to aim higher. Start with dismantling the Soros Foundation and work his way up from there. The Dem leadership is composed primarily of total pussies, and putting them directly in the iron sights is how you break the back of Black Lies Matter. Once their legal and financial cover is gone, you can work on deportations.

I mean, you can start firing if you like, and I wish you all the luck in the world. But this isn't the Second Revolution, it's American ISIS. Needs a very different strategy.

344 The new President Trump Press Secretary had the perfect opening.

President Trump should say the same thing whenever he gets a question:

MS. MCENANY: Hello, everyone. This past Fathers Day weekend, we saw violence across the country, but we saw scant media coverage of this violence.

Lets be clear here: The states are responsible for policing their streets. The governors, the mayors are responsible for ensuring that our streets are safe, that the American people are protected. And what we have seen is, in far too many Democrat runs states and Democrat run cities, we have seen violence and chaos and nothing like the law and order that we saw here in D.C. when President Trump stepped in and surged the National Guard.

It is the responsibility of governors to protect their states, to police their streets. The police power rests at the state level. And we expect mayors to step up and to do their job, and governors to step up and do their job in the mold of President Trump, who secured DC after a night of lawlessness two weeks ago.

Finally, the Defund Police movement is misguided. It will only hurt the vulnerable citizens of American cities the most. It's sad, and it is shameful.

359 I get that you're frustrated ace, but what exactly do you want the president to do about local crime committed in states? Do we believe in federalism or not? Is this an issue for the states to deal with or is the federal government to intervene in state matters?

I'm fine with an investigation into things like "who paid for and ddelivered bricks from state to state" and "who is funding these renta-a-mobs" but its not the job of the president to stop riots in states unless they specifically request help.

And frankly, watching these Democrat governors and mayors not just allow but praise and assist rioters, looters, and violence in their midst is hilarious because it does not help them in any way. I know they were hoping for Trump to go full Hulk and send in the special forces, giving them a Kent State moment but he refused to play along.

President
Donald
Trump

People have such short memories. Try remembering what that phrase looked like to you in April of 2015.

Time to sac up and follow the leader. He's the best one we'll ever have. You will miss him so much when he's gone in 2025.

You can choose to be doubtful because the ENEMY keeps telling us they're winning... or you can choose to sit back and marvel at one of the absolute greatest Americans who has ever lived, fighting with every shred of his bare soul to beat back evil for yet one more generation. For Lord knows what reason other than he is *grateful* for what this country, and those before him who sacrificed to make it, gave him.

Yup. Although I'm concerned no one can thread that needle. Anything Trump does will me met with bold faced lies from the MSM.

We need the mob to create a Jeffery Dahmer situation.

372 The options aren't "martial law" on one hand and impotent tweets on the other. There's something called the bully pulpit. Trump has known about the Left and their schemes before he was even elected. The speech he gave at Gettysburg in October 2016 was proof of that (unless Bannon wrote it and Trump didn't believe it or understand it).

No one is better qualified either through personal political experience or basic human nature to use the bully pulpit to engage and inform Americans on the nature, history and intentions of the Left. He should be exhorting, educating, scaring and inspiring us every day on what's happening, why it's happening and what we and the he can and will do. This is a war with a very clear enemy. Trump, like it or not, is a wartime president -- perhaps in the most perilous war in our history. His lack of engagement on it is baffling.

375 Jay, no, we took prisoners in the Pacific, as did our allies. As many as in Europe? Uh, no. But for several reasons - they fought to the death, treacherous "surrender" (which resulted in many not really being given a chance to surrender - all of this on them, of course). But policy and practice was to take prisoners.

Very interesting story about a Japanese-speaking Mexican-American from LA (yeah, I know) on Saipan who managed to get many Japanese to surrender, both civilians and soldiers. Saipan was first encounter with significant civilian non-combatants, and very first encounter with Japanese civilians.

NGU, things have changed, wearing the red cross arm-band back then generally meant no use of weapons except in self-defense or defense of wounded - obviously a situation like Salomon's kind of blurs all the lines. It apparently was a factor at the beginning, in hampering efforts to award a decoration. Ridiculous, maybe, but we are (ha, were!) a rule-following culture.

376 Lets be clear here: The states are responsible for policing their streets. The governors, the mayors are responsible for ensuring that our streets are safe, that the American people are protected.

Exactly. If Trump is failing in anything its that he's letting the left totally control the message and narrative here without going on offense to make sure everyone knows who is failing here and letting the ball drop.

Put it squarely on the Democrats. These are Democrat states with Democrat governments and Democrat cities that have been Democrat for generations. Make sure everyone gets that message.

He needs to understand that bluster and actual results - like not getting us into new and losing wars - don't count. What people want is someone gentle, and also soothing and handsome, like Bill Clinton or Barack Obama.

That's what American needs right now. A gentle shoulder massage that slowly works down the back and you lean forward, teasing your pectorals, touching every so slightly on your abs as you listen to his soothing voice and they work lower...

Yeah, so that's the kind of president I want and what super-hardened warriors I serve with want. Why just the other day a 1st Sgt. came to me with tears in his eyes, bawling like a little baby because Trump retweeted a meme. A meme! My Dad was literally arguing in support of Trump as they wheeled him into the operating room to see if he had enough intestines left to survive.

We buried him wearing his MAGA hat.

I have fired a mixed magazine of Largo and Luger through them (not the best idea) and had mixed results with .380 (robust recoil spring). Not a good idea, stick with Largo or .38 ACP (NOT 38 SUPER).

433 Sounds like an elderly woman on Rush today. She has confidence in Trump but wants reassurance that he knows people are out to get him and a public outline of his plan. Reassurance? This is a 19th Amendment problem. He's the President, not your therapist. He knows people are out to get him - how could he not? - and why should he tell her his plan? What does she add to the mix?

This of all situations requires opsec.

I mean shit, he thinks the BLM and Antifa vote isn't "guaranteed"? And that should worry Democrats?

The radicals know they can control Biden... they will vote for him. Anyone who has watched Democrats for more than three minutes know they "unite" around their bullshit candidate and all their other bullshit.
It's the most basic fact about Democrats there is. BLM isn't gonna go out and vote for Jill Stein. Democrats do what they are told.

D+7 registered voter polls (with, now, even pollsters publicly acknowledging they see/sense a growing "shy Tory/shy Trump-voter" effect, um, aren't real good cheat-sheets for how an election would go.

Trump is doing what he should and can at the national level. It is not his job to police the mayor of Fredricksburg. That is the job of the people who elected her. They voted for this whether they knew it at the time or not. There is a way to recall elected officials in Virginia and this certainly gives the citizens there the grounds to do exactly that.

It does no one any good to pretend that Trump can solve all the things on a federal, state and local level when he was only elected at one of those levels.

The defeatism and blaming Trump do not solve anything. He has been more faithful to his promises to voters than literally ANY politician I can think of at any level of Government. Do you really think Pence wouldn't be mouthing off how black lives matter if trump were not there to set policy and stop him?

If Trump does an address, he should forcefully excoriate Schumer, Durbin and Pelosi for the way they treated Tim Scott and his police reform bill. There are black voters willing to be persuaded and I think that if he shows public support for Scott and demonstrates that Republicans do have a roadmap for exiting this crisis, it could go a long way.

Police in the UK are almost immune from prosecution. they can literally torture a blind man with a Tazer or shoot a Brazilian in London in front of commuters and nothing will happen to them.

U.S. District Judge Gary L. The problem there is there are no consequences. The judge said what Cuomo and Wilhelm did was wrong, but they got away with out for months and will get away with it again, because why not? Politicians need to be held personally accountable when they deliberating and continuously take away people's rights, both these men should have to pay through the nose and/or serve time.
