Study: Infection Rates Have Fallen In States That Ended Lockdowns, While States That Remained Locked Down Still Have Infection Spikes

Oh.

"Blood on their hands."

How much longer will they lie just to delay facing their next massive loss of credibility?

I wonder, is the White Labcoat League of Fake Twitter Scientists discussing this study, or are xhey pretending it doesn't exist?

Please, someone alert the Twitter Fake Epidemiology Council of Tom Nichols, Ron Fournier, Karenpundit, and Dr. Guy P. Benson. I need to know what The Experts think.

Gentlemen, you have guided us through this crisis with your many, many uninformed Twitter Pronouncements -- pray, do not abandon us now in our time of greatest Tweet need!

Quintanilla also noted JP Morgan’s discovery of the same pattern happening in other countries that have released their lockdowns.

"Same goes for various countries, adds JPM. This means that the pandemic and COVID-19 likely have its own dynamics unrelated to often inconsistent lockdown measures that were being implemented," Quintanilla continued.

Oh, by the way, the CDC now says covid does NOT spread easily by contact with surfaces, making the complete destruction of our economy seem especially pointless.

For those of you still wiping down groceries and other packages amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, breathe a sigh of relief: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now says the novel virus "does not spread easily" from "touching surfaces or objects" -- but experts warn that doesn't mean it's no longer necessary to take "practical and realistic" precautions in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Although when the change was made is not currently clear, the federal health agency appears to have subtly shifted its guidelines from March which simply said it "may be possible" to spread the virus from contaminated surfaces.

"It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes," the CDC said on a now-archived page from March 28. At the time, however, the CDC did note that this possible method of transmission "is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads."

Even so, the CDC now includes "surfaces or objects" under a section that details ways in which the coronavirus does not readily transmit.

Believe Science

Whatever Science says this week. Or whatever you think will help Joey Rapehooks biden get elected.

Refusing to acknowledge these facts: Ron "Mark My Words" Fournier, who predicted, on April 20, a soaring infection and death rate in Florida and Georgia, and whose last word on this matter was "check back in three more weeks."

As Ron DeSantis pointed out: It's now been eight weeks since the media predicted apocalypse.

What is Ron Fournier tweeting about?

How horrible it is that people are protesting transsexual governor "Gretchen" Whitmer's lockdown.

He's still pretending that any loosening of the lockdown will lead to mass deaths.

Previously, he had claimed Trump's secret plan was to continue holding rallies to deliberately infect the old so as to increase his chances of... winning an electioN?

Ron Fournier has not commented on Governors Cuomo, Murphy, Wolf, or Whitmer who literally did intentionally infect, and murder, thousands of elderly people in nursing homes.

And senior citizens tend to vote more conservatively.

He doesn't have time to comment on actual facts, but he does have to time to spread unhinged conspiracy theories and existential hysterias.

45 Why do they keep talking about infection rates, when the reason for the lock-downs was supposed to be hospitalization rates?

We were supposed to be doing the lock-downs so that our hospitals did not get overwhelmed, remember? Infection rates go up as more people get tested. But since most people who test positive for this virus don't experience any symptoms, they are not going to need to be hospitalized.

Here in AZ, our lock-down ended May 15, and hospitalizations have slowed down to single digits.

There is no reason to continue these stupid lock-downs, which were probably completely useless and unnecessary in the first place.

My guess is this has a lot to do with wording and combining results. The last poll I saw like this was basically a lie.

You get 30% who say we should keep some stuff closed (cruise ships, casinos etc) and slowly open up things like restaurants.

You get 20% who say we should open up everything but over time, not all at once.

And you get 5% who say keep it all closed forever because the bad Orange Man might get me.

And the reporters add it all up and say 55% want shut down to continue! Because technically, they all do in some form or another, to some degree.

But as of today, I'm done. Just done. It has taken me two decades, but I am now publicly announcing that I am deleting my Drudge Report bookmark and never going back.

Death rates are where its at: I
in Texas, deaths rates are up marginally (it doesn't go the other way) to 1440.

640 of those deaths were in Assisted living and Nursing Homes.

If my math is right, that means in 4 months there have been 800 deaths from the Wuhan flu in non-nursing home folks ( in a who-knows-what physical condition,) in a state of 29 million people.

You never hear deaths or death-rate any more.

The numbers are proving it.
We shut down for a fairly nasty flu.

There just ain't much difference, especially when you're plotting data points that are supposed to be in two distinct groups.

Except for the economic hit jobs and the attacks on civil liberties. Those are different...

307 It's interesting how they have covered this. When they first started giving instructions on dealing with the Wuflu, they said to ventilate your home. That advice was dropped within a week or two, but is still the advice given in South Korea. We were supposed to be so careful about going out in public, yet no one ever mentioned taking off your shoes at home to prevent spreading it that way.

Personally, I lost my fear of it, when I saw that video by the doctor treating patients. He said that he knew he could protect himself because it spread by extended contact. Still don't know if anyone actually vetted that video but it seemed genuine. And everything I've seen since then seems to confirm that it's spread by real contact. I will still risk a hug or two.

This is the first indication of a problem - doctors treat people, individual people. When the 'doctor' gets command he 'treats ' all people as the worst case of the same ailment. Even though 99% do not have the ailment. Doctors do not have the skillset for mass care.

If doctors were in charge we'd all be on parasite pills instead of just having water treatment plants.

319 This is like the Tylenol murders.

Not that big a deal as far as deaths go but it changed the way we do our distribution. Seals, tamper alerting. And how big businesses in the supply chain take responsibility. Most have forgotten by now tho.

What we will have is voluntary masking unless close quarters or other reasons like hospitals. People will be reminded to distance themselves while out among strangers or in strange settings.

And who knows a vaccine may be found. Of course there's research that thinks that those who got regular flu shots may have been more susceptible to this virus.

Which is one reason the elderly got hit so hard. More flu shots and lower immune system.

The studies have said that people who are infected "shed" the virus (by coughing, sneezing, spitting, whatever) for several days. Other people get infected when they are in close contact with infected people who are shedding the virus. That's why most of the people who got infected were other family members living in the same house, or other patients living in the same nursing home.

The studies say there isn't much chance of infection from a quick interaction with an infected person, such as walking past them. But if you're in the same room with a virus-shedding infected person for several minutes while they're sneezing, coughing, whatever, then you're probably going to get infected too.

Flattening the curve so we didn't go all Italy was a great idea.

I think we could have done a lot of this all voluntarily.

Where we screwed up was anyone anywhere allowing Chinese Coronavirus infected people anywhere near nursing homes. Staff, residents, visitors, anyone.

Actually, no, the exact opposite.

Eating boogers naturally inoculates you against infections.

You think I'm joking, but I'm not.

Let me repeat:

EATING YOUR OWN BOOGERS KEEPS YOU HEALTHY.

It's called The Booger Theory of Self- Inoculation.

Well, I made up that last part, but it SHOULD be called that.

There was a study a couple of years ago done in Germany, and they studied kids who ate their own boogers versus those who did not. The ones who ate booger got sick at a vastly lower rate than those who eschewed booger consumption.

Apparently boogers are loaded with antibodies and dead viruses that got trapped in your sinuses and then killed by your immune system. When you eat them, you reinforce your own immune response to those viruses, just like an inoculation.

I'm too lazy to dig up the study, but it's real.

Eating bogies is good for teeth and overall health, scientists conclude

It might be wise to look away now if you are eating or have a weak stomach, but scientists have discovered that ingesting bogies is good for teeth, and overall health.

Scientists at a number of universities including Harvard and the University of Saskatchewan and say parents should not discourage their children from picking their noses because they contain 'a rich reservoir of good bacteria.'
...
The findings even suggest snot could defend against respiratory infections, stomach ulcers and even HIV.
...
Austrian lung specialist Professor Friedrich Bischinger, who also contributed to the study, said research show people who pick their noses are healthy, happier and probably better in tune with their bodies.

"Eating the dry remains of what you pull out is a great way of strengthening the body's immune system," he said.

"Medically it makes great sense and is a perfectly natural thing to do. In terms of the immune system, the nose is a filter in which a great deal of bacteria are collected.

"And when this mixture arrives in the intestines it works just like a medicine.""

It depends how you want to define it. It causes flu-like symptoms, so calling it the flu isn't wrong. But the fact that there is a coronavirus that causes a cold doesn't mean that SARS-CoV-2 is a cold virus.

397 Feynman was one of the greatest physicists of all time and his famous quote is that "science is a belief in the ignorance of experts."

Science is a method. It does not preclude those who use it from being ignorant or wrong simply because they ascribe to that method. Indeed, scientists are by definition ignorant of anything worth actually studying. Once the principles behind something are well known enough to make predictions then it becomes engineering.

Posted by: An Observation at May 21, 2020 09:39 PM (m8xKM)

410 People much smarter and more informed than I, for months, have thought that this virus has a maximum infection rate, like the many Corona viruses that came before and largely went away without any vaccines or mass lockdowns.

Looking at Sweden as a good example. Today they released that without the jackbooted lockdowns of other countries, they've hit a herd immunity of 7.7% (with less deaths and infections than NJ) But the media is trying to spin that as herd immunity not working (though they are wearing masks and social distancing which leads to a lower rate.) Not surprisingly they are completely ignoring how pointing out lower herd immunity is also admitting this either isn't as communicable as they lied about pr isn't as deadly (neither which work for their narrative) They also ignore that even a 1% herd immunity means 1% who can't can't pass it on or clog up hospitals for a number of.

Hopefully when this is over we do have hearings on it, specifically the false data and fear mongering that went into destroying the economy, followed by those figures being held accountable.
