The Morning Rant

talking ape 02 social distance.jpg
We've been told that we need to "flatten the curve" before we can reopen the country. We were told that we don't want tow overwhelm our country's healthcare system.

But I think we've done this. In fact, many hospitals that have geared up for a covid-19 rush are nearly empty and are laying off staff.

But now, suddenly, it's different. Now we're being told that we can't reopen the country until we get widespread testing. And when you ask them how much is widespread, the response is always more than we have now.

Soon it will be we can't reopen the country until everybody gets tested.

Coming up:

We can't reopen the country until there are no new cases

We can't reopen the country until we have an infallible vaccine

We can't reopen the country until Luke Skywalker and his plucky band of rebels destroy the Death Star

We can't reopen the country until Marshall Dillon marries Miss Kitty

We can't reopen the country until Jerry Lewis releases his 'The Day the Clown Cried' movie to the public.

We can't reopen the country until the return of Halley's Comet.

We can't reopen the country until Arthur returns as the rightful king of England

But ultimately it all boils down to:

We can't reopen the country until Joe Biden becomes President.

A lot of what makes progressives so progressive is that they progressively move the goalposts all over the field. While insisting that where they've just moved them is where they've been all the time. This seems to be a progressive trait. Whenever I see the goalposts being moved around like the Queen of Hearts in a 3-card Monte hustle, I know progressives have staked an interest in the outcome. In this case, it's to see how much damage can be done to President Trump's re-election. They do not consider the bankrupting of this country a price too high to pay to accomplish this.

(h/t Laura Ingraham).

4/29 - SH asks for prayers that the boys would graduate without problems this May and that things would turn out as they hope.

5/5 - H requests prayers for his daughter, who is struggling with a relapse in her eating disorder. The shutdown has greatly complicated the situation.

For Healing:

Caiwyn-who sometimes posts, asks for prayers for their dad who has pancreatic cancer. “Radiation and surgery brought time, but the cancer has still spread.” Prayers for healing.

Brother Cavil had been in the hospital and seems to be dealing with bacterial infection. Prayers for healing.

3/12-Browndog reports that mother’s house is taken care of. Has some financial issues but told that those will be taken care of. Radiation extended till from 28 to 48 days. He thanks the horde for the continuing prayers for healing
4/22 Update: Browndog sends thanks to the Horde for the prayers and well wishes. His treatements are complete, for now.

4/8 MrObvious asks for prayers for his wife, who has been diagnosed with Scleroderma. She broke her ankle on 12/3/19 and has had a very slow recovery due to the Scleroderma medications. Prayers for safety and healing.

Job Issues:

In addition to the people who have been on the prayer list for some time, please add Brother Cavil who needs a better paying job that meets his skill set. He also needs “rough places made smooth”.

Relationship Concerns:

Cybersmythe’s wife decided to leave him. He asked for prayers for her peace.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com

If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her.

Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after five weeks or so unless we receive an update.

Please remember the Prayer of St. Francis:

You could go get the list of people that the Innocence Project and similar organizations have gotten out of prison.

I find the cognitive dissonance astounding. These people are perfectly willing to accept that wrongful prosecution, high-pressure unjust plea deals, erroneous or corrupt conviction, railroading of suspects, etc. all happen. But not if you're Flynn.

Lockdown, vaccines, contact tracing, and flattening the curve are moot if COVID-19 is not as lethal as we have been deceived to believe.

The pre-endemic medical protocols are responsible for the majority of COVID-19 deaths. Start reading on page 13.

https://preview.tinyurl.com/vytf3ye

Until the treatment problems are corrected, there is no reason to believe that COVID-19 is more lethal than the common cold without help from treatment providers collecting $39,000 for each patient they put onto ventilators.

That payment is a bounty on American lives.

There's a couple K the last I saw.

Plus I saw wording that indicates that Flynn pled guilty to a crime they could never convict him in court. They had the evidence to the counter, so even if the lie is not an edit of 302s, he could not make a "material lie" and he plead guilty to a "material lie", which as Andy McCarthy explained several months back is *REALLY* what the crime of "Lying to the FIB" is.

Plus the FIB is having trouble locating the (I kid you not) "real original 302" which may have been edited by Lisa Page to frame Flynn.

We literally fought a war, in part, to create a justice system that wasn't rigged for the state, biased "judges," unmirandized victims, political targeting, etc.

Since the Roman republic there has been constant efforts to create a justice system not reliant on biased judges and corrupt political prosecutors.

Even Torquemada existed to remove prosecution from an over zealous state.

adviser, refused Tuesday to rule out postponing the presidential
election in November, a comment that fed directly into Democratic
concerns that President Donald Trump might use the coronavirus crisis to
delay or delegitimize the contest and one that contradicted Trump
himself.

"I'm not sure I can commit one way or the other, but
right now that's the plan," Kushner told Time magazine in response to a
question about whether the election could be postponed because of the
pandemic.

Having worked with countless guys who have found themselves in front of a judge, I have come to believe the primary job description for prosecutors is to get people to admit to things they didn't do.

It generally works like this: We're going to lock you up. You won't get out until we have all the papers already drawn up, so by the time you get in front of a judge, all the words on paper essentially boil down to one thing. If you say yes to what's on this paper, we'll let you out today.

We'll have you on a hook for, quite possibly, the rest of your life, but we'll let you see daylight. Today.

Guys jump at these deals, and it really doesn't matter at all whether they did what the paper says they did or not. They see a glimmer of daylight, and they take it.

That's what prosecutors do for a living.

I've come to the conclusion there's no such thing as legal ethics. Lawyers apparently have no standard of ethics they won't cross.

I don't care how much of an "expert" you are, what business do you have pronouncing legal conclusions on the internet? For a case on which you have NOT been apprised all the facts?

Shouldn't you have your law license pulled for crap like that?

Apparently not.

220 I have some news on my deceased employee, from his wife. He tested positive for the lung march last Thursday, and was told by the hospital to ride it out at home. After 2 days of that, he was found in his bed delirious. An ambulance was called, and while they were there, he suffered a heart attack. They revived him a few times, but he didn't make it. Are heart attacks a symptom of this Chinese plague?

Hi, Chris M.

Here is something (it is from Jan, 201

"The flu doesn't just make you feel lousy. A study published Wednesday finds it can increase your risk of having a heart attack, too.

"We found that you're six times more likely to have a heart attack during the week after being diagnosed with influenza, compared to the year before or after the infection," says study author Dr. Jeff Kwong, an epidemiologist and family physician with the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences and Public Health Ontario in Canada.

The results appear in this week's New England Journal of Medicine.

Doctors noticed long ago that there was a connection between seasonal flu and cardiovascular deaths..."

So yes, very possible..

Once they receive all the real ones, they can look up all the people yet to vote, who will then all vote coincidentally Democrat.

I'm sure that just for verisimilitude they will leave some ballots unsubmitted--just those they need to win.

Remember they found boxes saying "200 votes for Hillary Clinton" in Wayne County Michigan with Trump or Stein votes and even some Bernie write-ins.

There is no voter fraud is about as fraudulent as anything they have ever said.

257 Michigan just furloughed 31,000 employees 1 day a week until July to go into the Work Share Federal Program. None of the managers in my division knew anything. Saving $80 million (for the state, the Fed picks up the extra pay). Fiscal year end is 9/30 and the 2021 deficit is estimated to be $2 billion. The phased plan to open has zero dates and zero metrics. Sounds like Whitmer is going to try to keep shutdown through July.

"It's like this. You frequently drive state roads and the interstate. One day the state patrol clocked you on State Road 25 driving 55 in 55 mph zone. You have committed no offense.
A month later a couple of state troopers show up at your house to ask you a few friendly questions like "Did you exceed the speed limit on State Road 25?" You are charged with a crime based on your answer even though you weren't speeding, they know you weren't speeding, and you gave an honest answer. Should you go to prison for that? Be bankrupted? Have your family threatened?"

Thus the problem with the new way. How it is supposed to work is to investigate the crime to find the man. They way police state tyrannies work is to investigate the man to find the crime.

The only thing that keeps this from becoming the norm is expense and data. It is expensive to dig through a man's life to find crimes. It is difficult.

These panoptic databases make it easier and cheaper. As the cost comes down, the incidence will rise. In the past, it was rare and only used sparingly. Now it is common, but only "important" people are targeted. Tomorrow, if you speak out a school board or county council meeting, the hammer will fall on you. Most importantly, they needn't touch the first amendment to accomplish this. Everyone's guilty of something thanks to our insane legal code.

We had to disable major parts of our critical faculty for the mainstreaming of gays. We can't discriminate--i.e. tell the difference between the gay behavior and the way that Darwinian evolution theoretically advances, i.e. sexual intercourse, and propagation of offspring.

They had to turn Loving v. Virginia into a collage of wishes done by a college student cutting things out of context and pasting over other things them regardless of context.

I warned that society would become stupider--not as a result of mainstreaming gays--not at all--but as a result of the imposed way to think about homosex itself that removes your discretion and squelches the telling of differences.

346 CA-25 is a nice surprise, and possibly a view into the mood of the average rank and file.

This district has no issues voting Dem, even though it has been traditionally held by GOP.

This election was done 100% by mail, which should have given the Dems major opportunity to cheat. I am sure they did. But even with cheating, you can only get a couple percentage points doing it. If you go too far, like exceeding the actual population of a precinct, then you open up for a serious federal rectal exam.

With a 13 point lead, Garcia should be well over the margin a fraud.

Looks to me like there were a lot of proxy "Fuck You" votes against Newsome and the Dem establishment. Also, if the voters were blaming Trump, then they would have overwhelmingly elected the Dem.

So take it with a grain of salt, but this shows where the voter enthusiasm is, and it isn't on the Dem side.

358 update on my mom brother

her crushed tibia miraculously healed...she is able to put full weight on it and she is walking on it.....she is still in the care facility, in an isolated wing because she has the virus....she has no symptoms of it...never has.... but she tests positive for it.

my brother is doing well....he finished his chemo, 4 aggressive rounds, the tumor is gone, the cancer in the marrow is gone...he has begun his preliminary protocol for the marrow transfusion...while there is no cure for the cancer this is the first good news he received since it's discovery.

359 OK, fine. Movie thing. I know, I know.

Since Ace brought up First Blood the other day, I've been watching through the Rambo franchise. I watched Rambo last night. First, Julie Benz, yum. But it was about Burma. Backdrop is the Myanmar gov being all tyrannical and such against...the Karens.

Made me do a double take. To their credit, the Karens in the film weren't at all preachy.

You watch to appreciate or critique the cinematography and the craft that goes into assembling a films. That is different I think than watching something simply because there is nothing better to do with your life at that moment. I look forward to your Saturday night movie reviews because they are always enjoyable to read and I almost always learn a few things about the movie making craft. Personally I would be much happier building the shelves for you to display your movie collection on, because when I turn on a screen my brain immediately switches off.

============

It may seem like I watch movies because of that, but I really watch them because I just like them. I think I just have a larger frame of reference than most people and a deeper vocabulary in terms of movie making.

It doesn't make my opinion better, by the way.

I must admit I was wrong about something.

A few months ago I predicted it was a near certainty at some point Joe would drop the N word in public.

Little did I know, pretty much all public pronouncements he makes would be limited to a few words written in big letters on a card for him to read.

And when he finds himself confused, instead of shouting what he really "thinks," he just shuts up and sits there with a confused look, wondering who these people are and why the pretty lights are shining on him.

That he's showed his colors over the past four years really puts the lie to that.

You know they would totally buy it if a Republican governor simply said: "Nobody is more worried about voter suppression than I am".

They would want him to do something like take actions that "prove it". Most likely those actions that allow the DNC to still cheat.

Weird how that works.

397 Pleaded vs pled.

Even though the dictionary says that both are acceptable, "pleaded" grates on my ears.

We don't say "the victim bleeded out", we don't say "they were leaded to safety", we don't say "they rose from the table, well-feeded".

"He pleaded guilty" sounds as wrong as it is.
