You won’t be surprised that older adults choose cannabis for medicinal reasons over recreation. The most common medical reasons included pain, sleep, and anxiety. Researchers were keen to understand why older adults turned to marijuana for anxiety.

The EPA on Friday granted permission for genetically engineered mosquitoes to be released into the Florida Keys and around Houston to see if they can help limit the spread of mosquito-borne illnesses. British biotech company Oxitec Ltd was granted an experimental use permit to release a genetically engineered type of the mosquito species Aedes aegypti, which is a known vector of Zika virus and viruses that cause yellow fever and dengue fever, the Environmental Protection Agency office of Chemical Safety and Pollution announced. Oxitec must get state and local approval before it can start field testing. But if granted, testing will take place over a two-year period in Monroe County, Fla., starting this summer, and in Harris County, Texas, beginning in 2021.

But that is definitely targeted at leisure trips. I rarely take those, at least not in the pure form. When I take the long drive, I have a destination in mind and am usually focused on pounding through as efficiently as possible - and this includes timing stops. I have found that 3-3.5 hours is a very good match. If I'm alone, then 4 is fine. With a crowd, aim for three because nobody's bladders will synchronize well.
I have found knowing that fuel economy and planning gas stops vs. pee stops vs. food stops is way more effective for time budgeting than various other factors.

I know I'm biased, but I am trying to be objective here. Obama is probably not smarter, and is certainly not quicker on his feet than Trump. Obama's career was started early while in college under the tutelage of various communist radicals, and his steps along the way were planned and enabled by the left wing of the activist party branch. He certainly didn't "make it on his own."
Trump, by contrast, was born into a wealthy family and inherited millions of dollars. Millions he converted into more than billion through being a real estate titan. Then he became president - but after also being a TV star.
Melania is pretty and Michelle is not. Beauty is in the eye, I suppose. But Melania is multi-lingual and, unlike Michelle, worked for a living. Being a model might be nice work, but at least she had a real job.

I am a committed vegan. Everything from clothes to soap to dishes and of course food is animal-free if it comes into my home.
But what about transportation? Cars (and buses and trains and airplanes) are full of plastics, adhesives, lubricants, seals and other products that are often animal-derived. Even bicycles usually have plastics, foams and adhesives that contain some animal products.
Between my veganism and my desire to reduce to my environmental impact, I am experiencing something of a crisis of conscience over this question. Can I use transportation (other than my own legs, of course) while still being an eco-conscious ethical vegan?

Get to bed at 8 pm each night, but shower and pack up before getting into bed. The object is to be able to get up at 4 am and out the door and on the bike, moving, by 4:10, 4:15 latest.
Those couple hours of pre-dawn dark are a beautiful time to get in your first hundred or more hours of the day, and the sunrise is always glorious.
Quit riding no later than 3 pm each day, when you have found the perfect motorcyclists motel. Ground level, your bike parked right outside your door, walk to a bar, a restaurant, maybe a place with music.
And chat up everybody you encounter.
One of my favorite rides was to track Louis and Clark from St Louis to Astoria, WA as close as highways would allow. Sacajawea showed them the pass up over the Bitteroots, south of Missoula, the Lolo pass.
When you crest the pass, you see the Welcome to Idaho sign, and the sign cautions you that there are 112 miles ahead of constant curves.
Some brook way up high is what the road follows, and the brook turns into the Lochsa, which turns into the Clearwater, which flows into the Snake, which flows into the Columbia.
Lewis and Clark damn near starved descending from the Lolo. It was late winter and they would not eat fish.

The author is complaining about comparing the nearly 70k number of covid deaths reported by sites like worldmeters and usually publicly used (such as Trump's statements) which is the maximum of "we'll bribe you to count anything you can get away with" to the rough estimates of seasonal flu also publicly used. He makes no mention of the smaller numbers recently discussed with respect to covid of 37k or 11k when he insists on going to pure counts of flu deaths just to make the kung flu seem more impressive.Even if the point he deceptively made was accurate (that kung flu is some integral multiple of the regular flu), it still was far too weak to justify the actions taken, and still underway to "mitigate" it.

In the past 25 years, I have lived at five different addresses. I know that one address I lived at 25 years ago still receives the voter registration card in my name.
Big Tech knows where I live today and knows that there are four other voter registrations cards out there that I will not claim. It is nothing for them to collude with DNC operatives to give them this information and then look the other way while operatives fill out the votes and mail them in.
Then, of course, Big Tech knows which postal codes are well represented by people who would vote for Trump and this passed along to the government unions may result in mail getting lost during pick-up.
And I don't get a receipt like I would when voting in person.
Fraud By Mail is real. And it will cancel out any meaningful understanding of voting.
If throwing the globe into a full throated depression is fair game, mass desecration of the vote is a given.

Up at the old mall, there was an icee-things wagon. Folks were lining up 'social distancing' to order, then as far as we could tell they all gathered on the grass nearby, in a manner that would cause Gladys's eyes to bulge out of their sockets.
Still weird to see how much is still Ghost Town, even with limits lifting. Not one car at the Arby's!
And folks were out walking, in the park, walking dogs, fishing. You'd never know we just managed to dodge viral SMOD.

It definitely refers to pipe organs, the phrase has been around much much longer than Airplanes have.
my guess would be that it got popularized when it was common for Wurlitzer organs to play the accompaniment for silent films. The organist would pull out all the stops for the big scenes, to make a really big sound.

I just got home from a supermarket where they gave me a receipt with a place to go fill out an online satisfaction survey so I can get a 5% discount the next time I shop there (I do it this ~every 30 days, the minimum allowable interval).
I flailed on them in the survey. Visit was Mostly Dissatisfactory. Yes, I found everything I wanted, prices were reasonable, store was clean blah blah but my experience checkout out was Highly Dissatisfactory because I had to stand at a ridiculous distance from other customers. My shopping experience was Bad because I had to wear a mask.
I told them yeah, I get it, your're a big corporation, you've got to take the path of least resistance, but I fantasize about a company that expresses as much skepticism as millions of citizens do.
My lone voice. I'll still get the 5% discount next time, which I hope isn't for a while.

Fourth his bullshit "soft reopening" where nothing has really opened but new mandates that change constantly like the masks.
Fifth the bullshit inaccurate models, and all the changes to try and fit the numbers to the models.
Sixth, his after hours 30 day extension to his tyrannical shut down of the state.

However, the word "stop" in this context (i.e - "pulling out the stops") is a musical reference related to the pipe organ. Since the coarse-thread screws in this size range are limited to basically 10-24 and 12-24, I then did a second-order sort on those. And, as it happens, a lot of those happen to be short round-head Phillips head screws with captive star washers, so I separated them out and bagged them. Final-order sort on those puppies. I am less than half way through my bucket of mixed fasteners, so far, but i have made a dent in it. Unsorted, this stuff is basically worth scrap metal price, but sorted by size, it is literally worth hundreds of dollars to me, not just the value of the parts, but in time and fuel saved by not having to interrupt a project and drive to town to buy a twenty-dollar box of 8-32 or whatever.
It also clears the bench top of a couple of large cans of junk. May as well make my quarantine sentence pay off!

I live in MA. Originally, our shutdown was supposed to end today. However, last week our idiot governor not only extended the shutdown to May 18, he also decreed that starting tomorrow, mask wearing is mandatory (of course, that brings up the question of why we weren't wearing masks in April if they're so necessary now).
I am certain that he ordered the mask wearing so that he can extend the shutdown to the end of the month, at least. He's a POS RINO who boasted about not voting for Trump.
Mark my words - within a week, the MA shutdown deadline will be extended.

As far as I'm concerned, the only legitimate deaths from COVID should be from a positive RNA diagnosis with an accompanying pneumonia.
Someone looked at all of the data coming in and showed that only about 11k COVID cases had those two factors.
Which means they are faking the COVID numbers by roughly 80pct.
This thing is a scam at every level of analysis.
