I think Hilary was actually a remarkably good campaigner.
Think about it. She was such indescribably horrid person, yet still, despite all that, she nearly was elected POTUS. Sure she had lots of help, but that is a campaign in itself. OK, I recuse myself... where's the barrel... I mentioned about this earlier - my lady isn't a Trumper by any stretch of the imagination. Finds him generally distasteful. However, she doesn't pay much attention to politics or watch press conferences or anything like that. When she saw last night's presser she was nothing less than shocked and appalled by the behavior of our media and the treatment they give President Trump (who she thinks is more-or-less handling this panic pretty well). I told her this is how they treat him every day, in every way, on every topic. That no WH presser is ever any different. She was visibly disgusted and embarrassed. She said she wouldn't blame him for just cancelling elections and being a dictator if this is how the opposition treats him. If COVID is affecting African Americans disproportionately, its probably for being infected at a higher rate.. not dieing. In Maryland whites dies at a higher rate while blacks are way overrepresented in cases. Could be higher cases because African Americans are living in more dense areas or are not social distancing as much in comparison.

This pesser is much many others from Trump where he does a coule things that I know piss off those who might otherwise give him a fair shake and solidifies those who already or tilted against him.
1- He will cut off someone way too early in their question because he thinks he knows what they are going to ask and then gives a long winded answer that is not the subject they were going to ask about, let alone the point they were asking about. 2- He will use far too many words and examples to answer a simple question that he could answered succinctly, and in that long winded process he gives the hostile press fresh attack surfaces to take him out of context and goad him. I love that Trump is the President and wish him all the success in the world because I believe he is basically a good and real dude just trying to do what is best for us in the US. But there are things I wish he were able to be coached on. But hell, he's older than me, far more successful, a to the degree he's more stodgy, he has every right to be. Still... Example: They were asking about how he is critical of WHO parroting ChiCom talking point while he spoke favorably about China's openess during the initial DungLung-Flu investigation. He went into a long defense of his trade deal... Not the topic. All he had to say was, at that time he had insufficient reason to believe that the WHO was lying to us and that China was being duplicitous, so he was trying to encourage them to be continue to be open. I am now near certain that WuFlu was indeed a Wuhan lab containment breach. The WaPo has a story today about how US technical experts from our embassy in China went to visit that lab. They were so alarmed by the conditions there they sent an urgent warning to Washington warning that of a significant potential of a containment breach, which could well cause a global pandemic. They sent a total of two such warnings back to Washington. We had been providing them technical expertise beyond what I had read before (and rambled on here at length), which explains how we got access. Our people were blown away at the lack of training and incompetence displayed at that lab. The response was apparently to give them even more help and money because of these fears of a breach. I download and swap mags regularly, based on what an
old range officer told me. Springs will tend to hold their shape and could potentially fail in the later rounds if tension is not released periodically. My source isn't as good as yours, it's just something I read on the internet, but: what I read was that the only action that causes a spring to lose tension is stretching and compressing. That they don't lose any tensile strength while coiled, only from wear. Posted by: ghost of kari at April 14, 2020 07:40 PM (8IQhD) 650

There was one set that when I first met them, they were whining about how they saw someone with a gun out where they lived. They were extremely anti gun, but bought property right up against one of the most prolific deer and elk hunting areas near here. 5 yrs later I run into them at the local range sighting in their new rifle. Seems losing two of their pets, a whole lot of chickens and nearly a child illuminated the value of having a rifle. Having to shoot at a moving target (coyotes) has taught them the value of multi round magazines. Likewise they now see the value of a big ole pickup for rough roads and hauling shit. I'm sure enjoying these complaints about Frank Zappa.
Because you all haven't heard any Frank Zappa yet. Zappa was a dead-serious, post-modern ensemble composer before he ever did any funny lyrics or gross-out comedy songs or imitation old rock'n'roll. He recorded Edgar Varese style musique-concrete before he did any of that. There was a contract requirement with the agents and studios, the A and R guys thought they needed album material with lyrics and themes. Zappa was incensed but held to the letter of the contracts, just to see how much he could get away with. And while he did those, he kept making albums of dead-assed-serious modern classical music. The real hard stuff. Guess what. We haven't even started to sample Frank Zappa's weird serious music yet. All the upchuck, burp and fart jokes you've been doing for a month now? That was for his easy-listening, accessible material. If you complain enough, we have just as much material by him to work through -- a lot of it conducted by Zubin Mehta and Pierre Boulez. Come on, guys. I know you have it in you. Keep it up! Posted by: Way, Way Downriver at April 14, 2020 07:57 PM (8IOEj) 720

As far as hair - I've been losing it for years, so always keep it closely trimmed - #2, the barber tells me. It's getting shaggy, but since I don't leave the house and can put on a hat when I do, I'm not concerned.
I shaved off my beard last week because it was getting too bushy and shaggy, so it's coming in slowly and close-cropped, as I like (I can't go without a beard, as I have no chin definition). Posted by: Mary Poppins' Practically Perfect Piercing at April 14, 2020 08:21 PM (2JVJo) 827

Didn't Teddy get shot by some loon and still went on to finish his 90 minute speech?
Yes. It went through the folded speech in his breast pocket so it was significantly slowed, but the bullet still penetrated his chest and he gave the whole speech. I don't think that can be beat for presidential badassery. Posted by: Bandersnatch at April 14, 2020 08:23 PM (gd9RK) 834

WTF, makes no sense to me?
Posted by: Commissar Hrothgar ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Cheaters only like loop holes that benefit them. As soon as it benefits the other guy, cheaters become all about closing loop holes. I use to road race motorcycles and I served as a referee handling complaints for rule violations. There was a rule that said one couldn't modify the intake airbox for the stock classes, but there was also a rule that said you could run without an air filter. There was a specific model of popular race bike where the filter included the top panel of the air box. So if you ran without the filter, you created a massive intake hole in the air box. The racers who campaigned that model of bike were adamantly against changing the rule because the manufacture listed the air filter/air box top as just the filter. But then when the model year changed, guess what happened, now the part was listed as the "air box filter" and so it could no longer be removed and suddenly those same riders who were so staunchly defending the rule as it was, were clamoring, nigh on crying in the pits, to have the rule changed. If Republicans become better at vote harvesting than Dems, then the Dems will come out against it. If Republicans become suspected (let alone proven) to cheat at getting dubious voters, the Dems will demand Voter ID. But for now, they cheat better/more often than we do, so they want the rules that favor cheating. Posted by: TSgt Ciz at April 14, 2020 08:27 PM (af5xa) 841
You didn't order crocks on amazon did you?
Its important to order all kinds of crazy crap from Amazon so that your e-profile is completely monkey-wrenched. Have a joint account with a lunatic who collected beanie babies, stained glass supplies, crocks, gimp masks, Galileo thermometers, obscure foreign flags, redneck t-shirts... Just make sure that the combination of stuff doesn't trip the AI filters looking for Red Flag candidates. Posted by: 🐧 at April 14, 2020 08:28 PM (ks+s+) 842

Blowin Biden has promised me he will continue to carry out my 100 percent unemployment program, to bring the US dollar on par with Mexican peso and to keep those diplomatic pouches flowing to me. Obama, Bernie and Warren all endorsing Biden this week makes perfect sense. They know it will mostly be mentioned in passing, and then come August, when the party gets Joe to step aside for Cuomo, they can all still say they were supporters of Joe and always believed in him. It's nothing but an alibi to try to say they were always united against Trump.

Along the lines of that above pof of mine, expect all these news agencies to start pushing the Biden rape story starting in July, so that they can get him out of the way and try to claim they support all womyn.
