Chris Hayes, One Month Ago: Trump "Personally Pressured" Health Officials to "Manipulate the Numbers Downward"
Chris Hayes, Yesterday: Trump Inflated the Death Count So He Could Brag When The Numbers Came In Lower

Positions change 180 degrees in the indecent space of a few days, but one position remains constant, eternally: OrAnGE mAN BaD.

Hayes was immediately criticized by many members of the media for floating what appeared to be a conspiracy theory.

"I said I can't bring myself to accept it!" he responded to one of his critics. "But he's been very very weird about 'coming in under the model' in this unnerving, disassociated way."

Here's Chris Hayes from March 9th slamming Trump for his "happy talk" and suggesting that coronavirus could be beaten.

He went on to claim that Trump admitted he was "personally pressuring health experts not to do the best thing in terms of public health in order to manipulate the numbers downward."

At 5:37.

One month ago, Chris Hayes pushes the conspiracy theory that Trump is personally manipulating the numbers downward.

Now he says Trump has manipulated the numbers upward.

So which is it, Chris? It can't be both.

The media and the social media monopolists conspire to control the public discourse by deplatforming and censoring anyone who utters a "conspiracy theory," the true definition of which is any speculation that the leftwing corporate media disapproves of.

But when they float their own conspiracy theories...? I don't see Twitter marking this tweet as "dangerous" in spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories about cooked models and projections.

I don't see Chris Hayes blocked from his account until he deletes this Fake News conspiracy theory.

Now, if someone on the right were to suggest that the models were merely wrong -- not deliberately rigged -- he would be censored.

But leftwing conspiracy theories are always in fashion.

Question: Will Chris Hayes' fans on the pseudoright follow him in pushing this "Trump tricked us with his overstated death toll figures" conspiracy theory?

I would guess that some will at least be mildly supportive of the notion that something like this is happening.

Hey -- if you're on Twitter, maybe flag this tweet for deletion. Alert Twitter that it violates their supposed rule about spreading misinformation about coronavirus.

Of course, that rule only applies to the right, but Twitter has never admitted that.

It's time to make them admit it.

I'm not the nurse, but I was asking this question last week. It seems that UV does kill the virus. And being outside in warm weather is how you get vitamin D.

Red states want to do physical work and fear unempolyment: blue state grasshoppers have make work jobs that can be done from home, or even not at all. So, just split the difference. Designate some states like New York and Cali under federal quarantine with no exits, while useful Midwestern states are encouraged to step up production of consumer goods and food.

https://www.berkeleyside.com/2020/04/08/ berkeley-unified-suspends-online -classes-after-naked-zoombomber-enters-session

Berkeley Unified suspends online classes after naked 'Zoombomber' enters session

"Just two days into its "distance learning" program, Berkeley Unified has suspended its use of video conferencing platforms after a naked adult "Zoombomber" infiltrated a lesson.

The nude man entered into a virtual Berkeley High class and used racial slurs, Principal Erin Schweng said in an email to the school community."

So, to summarize:

-- Entire school district shuts down due to virus panic.
-- Classes moved online to "Zoom" videoconferences.
-- Racist pervert hacks into one class conference, shows his dick to the kids.
-- All education cancelled for the rest of the year as a result.

We are truly living in bizarre times.

60 It's not the media's job to "understand everything". It is however crucial that media misunderstand a lot less.

If you misunderstand as much and as often as these people, you should lose your job.

Through the entire crisis they have politicized Trumps "15" statement. Now, just because the numbers are going to be lower--as Trump predicted when the Unhinged were shouting for the stage hook--he *suddenly* didn't take it too lightly--*HE* himself asked for the numbers to be inflated so that they could look like a hero.

This earns a very solid GMAFB.

78 Willowed on the last thread.... but deserves a repost

REad a fascinating study on COVID yesterday. I had a chat with a college budy who's an ICU doc and he thought it supported what he was seeing.

Gist of the matter is the COVID virus binds itself to the hemoglobin receptor responsible fo O2/CO2 exchange. It displaces the iron ion ( the study called it something else but I dont remember the proper term for it.) THis releases all those ions and they run around oxidizing systems and preventing proper celular respiration because O2 is no longer being delivered properly. This is what they think causes the organ failure alot of patients exhibit.

The startling thing is this. The Hydroxychloroquine treatment ALSO binds itself to the hemoglobin receptors, but in a nondestructive manner. This is why it is so evective against malaria. The theory is Hydroxychloroquine block COVIDS ability to bind to hemoglobin rendering the virus virtually non-lethal.

Anyway.... I thought that this theory fit alot of puzzle peices together and I found it extremely interesting.

109 Ultra violet light and viruses:

I did a fair bit of research on this a while back for water purification purposes.

UV does not 'kill' viruses. It screws up their dna so they can't reproduce, (which is essentially the same thing)

the big, huge BUT when it comes to UV light is that the virus actually has to have the light shine on it. If the virus is in a microscopic shadow (like a bit of dust), then it has no effect on it.

That's why water purification UV sticks specify the water must be clear.

These MSM people are revealing all of their and the Democrats/Left's dirty tricks with each of these accusations. The just assume Trump is weaponizing/juicing whatever information he shares during these briefings to maximize political gains.

Bottom line: even during a once in a lifetime event/pandemic these people are unable to step outside of political framing. They a truly brain-damaged, soulless ghouls. They can never be trusted; they are incapable of recognizing data/facts without political reference points.

Testing backlogs, defective test kits issued to state and local authorities, antiquated test lab procedures requiring test samples to be shipped to labs, ... Eff that, we are too vulnerable to even a modest bio warfare attack if we cannot quickly test for infection at the treatment site. Testing is job #1 and we failed.

I found Chris Hayes accusing Trump of "manipulating the numbers DOWNWARD" one month ago, on March 9.

What will they force us to do next.?" The community guidelines say the replies are supposed to be "clean, friendly and factual" So today I read some replies. One said
"You should put a letter on your head-S for stupid" or "Why don't you put a millstone around your neck?".

I replied generally "I see that people are following the "Jersey friendly" commenting guidelines. LOL."

Still not a very compelling argument though. One of these things - church services - involves a significant gathering of people in one spot, while the others don't. I'm not saying what should be open and what shouldn't (I'm not really in favor of any of this), but there's a pretty obvious distinction that Sorbo is ignoring.

I'm surprised no one has tried to create a news channel where it is nothing but the news. No commentary, no inflection, no subtle suggestions, but just the news.

"Today the United States is up to 14,000 deaths from COVID-19, representing 4/1000ths of 1% of the population. In other COVID-19 news hospitals are not performing any elective surgeries, and staff is being laid off as non-essential. Now for sports. Nick Saban sent his first text message today..."

303 Gist of the matter is the COVID virus binds itself to the hemoglobin receptor responsible fo O2/CO2 exchange. It displaces the iron ion ( the study called it something else but I dont remember the proper term for it.) This releases all those ions and they run around oxidizing systems and preventing proper cellular respiration because O2 is no longer being delivered properly. This is what they think causes the organ failure a lot of patients exhibit.

Sorry, but this is rubbish. The hemoglobin "receptor" for O2 is the Fe(II) ion bound to the heme in hemoglobin. Removing Fe(II) from heme takes a small thermonuclear device.

306 Back when DOOM! Panic, uncertainty, angst, suffering, was what they thought they could use to GET TRUMP, they wanted those numbers as dire as possible to stoke the panic and increase the suffering. Then Trump was clearly gaming the numbers down so they didn't get as much DOOM! As they wanted.

Now that the numbers look much better than initial projections, and they are going to make Trump look like he turned a dire situation around, now Trump adjusted the up to look good.

Note that any relationship to reality didn't matter to them. The numbers aren't what they wanted as a political convenience, so they must be lies both times in completely different directions.

They can't even see, they can't even see, that by changing their position that even *if true* it makes Trump look like a brilliant political strategist for getting them to clammer for higher death estimates while reality would be much less. If not true they look like incompetent idiots stoking fear for political gain.

They can't see that's how they look because they can't even remember holding the opposite position. That reality is now gone.

Double think strikes. Orwell, a modern prophet.

There will always be new mutations, new viruses, new something. Hell, every year the annual "flu shot" is a best guess cocktail as to which strains might be the most prevalent during the flu season. Sometimes the "experts" miss the target and more people get sick. Sometimes the "experts" get it right. The point is, we need test analyzers dispersed to local hospitals and medical clinics. Modern analyzers can be quickly updated by the manufacturer to recognize the latest viral threats. That's (finally) happening now with emergency FDA waivers.

380 Who is Sorbo?

ace the "models" you talked about yesterday do show their confidence levels - all such projections are statistical exercises that show those - and have in fact been substantially modified to account for new data and new understanding, as time has gone one. Thus the radical change a few days ago that both dropped numbers dramatically, and moved "peak" dates forward.

Related, CBD the model you described in post below doesn't sound substantially different than the others being used, but if it relies on Chinese data/info, alone, it would likely be crippled from the start, no? Both the quality, and integrity, of the Chinese data has been a major issue from the get-go.

And I think the death #s from the earlier projections have been pretty well met by reality in the "hotspot" states, at least until now. It's the # of hospitalizations, and duration thereof, that have been off - and of course this was key, as all the heroic prep has been to avoid the high-water mark of acute cases flowing over the top of the levee of beds and ICU capacity and ventilators.

The Italian and Spanish data, for their worst hotspots, were the major factor that led to the huge revision in projections for many areas. Those weren't available or substantial enough until recently.

And Hayes' self-contradiction and "conspiracy" stuff is pretty tame compared to what's become the norm in some places. Some places.

406 DOW almost made it to 24K earlier ... probably goes through today. 24,071 I think is a 50% retracement, which is something some look at in a "bear market bounce". But with the pandemic and the trillions thrown to the wind, and directly to Wall Street, none of the old rules seem to matter.

The earnings to come will take a hard hit, and so will future earnings, probably. imo the globalist stock market will do well to meander sideways for some time, as the US repatriates essential production. Profit margins may be hurt if Wall Street loses their slaves and their ability to pollute freely ... but America may come out with better jobs and control of the important supply chains.

But if they inflate enough via QE or MMT, markets could go to new highs based not on real production, but on inflated money supply. idk, $4T QE with Obama was crazy, I think we will get more than that now ... and more debt, sky is not a limit. Whatever it takes to get Trump a second term, to defeat DeepState ... then the real prosecutions? idk

502 Methos, since you gave me a "lulz", I'll respond to your comment. The death projections were correct because they were correct - try to read harder - but the other key items were substantially off. Volume of data and quality of data and how analogous a population or situation are determine how much you can learn from them. Italy and Spain were, and still are, the only sources of such data for us.

I'm sure your techniques for modeling a new pathogen whose initial performance is extremely scary by comparison with anything recently seen would be far superior, and you really owe it to the country to get in there and do it right.

507 I attempted to go to Sams a little while ago and they had people lined up across the parking lot to get in because they are limiting the number of people in the store. It's f'n absurd. We have about 12 deaths from the Wuflu in the area. The weekend before Easter we are living in a manufactured crisis.

Went to Piggly Wiggly instead and there was hardly anyone there and there was plenty of inventory.

513 The emails are so annoying. I got one from the Little Bra Company the other day. Guess sales are down. (And apparently their bras are made in China. So now I have to find a new source of little bras. Maybe there's a company in Korea or Vietnam that ships overseas?) The Houston Shoe Hospital is offering price cuts on heel repair, though!

At work, someone asked me to look into something for them earlier this week, and I'm overloaded, so I responded that I was going to look into it but it might be a couple days before I got back to them. "Is this where my message about experiencing higher than normal call volume goes?" I typed. Heh.

518 Serious question--what do you suppose random testing in the populace for corona virus antibodies would indicate about the virus being present here for 3 to 4 months preceding a general outbreak?
How would you institute such a test?
====
In truth the testing now isn't really that useful in people who are asymptomatic because its a pretty high false positive rate. If you have sxs and test positive there's a decent chance you have it. If you don't have symptoms they aren't testing you unless you have had known exposure and also are in high risk group.

So if you tested everyone you are going to show a really high rate of infection that isn't necessarily that high.

Bayes theorem is a big deal in medical testing. Truth is a lot of medical testing not like taking a temperature where there is a discrete exact result. You are grading reactions and where you draw the line on a positive is a judgment call. You are essentially grading on a curve.

Stated differently, say PCR testing for HIV, the reality is you can test positive but that does not mean that you will in fact get HIV in the future. You are treated as if you are however, because there is a fairly high chance you will.

You can look this up. The guy who invented the HIV test has discussed this in interviews. Its on the net.

520 They are very simple, ignorant people. I'm starting to give them the benefit of the doubt again about their biases. They really do lack mental capacity or life experiences to see that another side exists. Every idea that comes into their heads is based upon their group's long-held prejudices + whatever that group happens to be popular with that group at any particular moment. There is zero room for original thought.
Posted by: Random Black Man at April 09, 2020 01:12 PM (BJKQV)

The inquisitiveness was beat out of them in school (just regurgitate the opinions of the experts!). They might have the mental capacity, but they've been trained not to use it, nor to ever rely on their own judgment. In most cases, using your own reason has been defined as a hate crime.

Having eschewed their own reason and outsourced their thinking to implicitly-trusted "experts", a rigid ideological conformity follows.

As for a lack of life experiences, they all have pretty much the same background - upper middle class family, distant father who spent most of his life at work (who they resent for it), Ivy League education. All they know is their bubble. They have no idea just how small that little bubble of comfort they came from actually is.

Exactly. They're pretty much actors with journalism degrees. The thing is that most actors had to work at "regular jobs" while getting their start. It seems like a lot of these "journalists" went straight from the bubble of their college to the bubble of the pressroom. And America winds up being informed by perpetual adolescents.

How hard is it to get a journalism degree anyway now days? I read a lot of Sharyl Attkisson's writing and she regularly schools the press on things that it seems that they should have learned in college. What do they do there? Toga parties? Road trips?

526 This morning, I watched a fascinating segment of "Book Talk" on CSPAN, a 2004 lecture by John Barry, who wrote a book about the 1918 flu pandemic that I now want to read. Watching it, it struck me that Wilson was by far the worst president we have ever had and responsible for the deaths of millions worldwide. His administration not only made it illegal to criticize the government (one Congressman who did so got a 20 year sentence) but downplayed the flu epidemic because they didn't want to hurt the war effort. The end of WWI was only 4 months away when the flu started killing US servicemen in large numbers on American bases. Yet they were still shipped to Europe and the flu spread all over the place there. Here, Wilson's media lapdogs were telling Americans that "fear was worse then the disease" even as whole families were dying in their homes.

Wilson - the Progressive Democrat and former president of Princeton - sure gets off easy in the history books. The media of his time and the historians have run interference for him ever since.

There's that. But there is also the speed at which an appeal to the collective side has to be made to get noticed on Twitter.

So there is punishment for thinking "That" and reward for martialing your brain to produce the quickest response of group thought.

They are conditioning their synapses to come up with: Orangemanbad.

And they are creating an irresistible black-hole of a synapse highway into which everything wants to fall.

He was a vile racist who promoted the idea of a "Living and Evolving Constitution" and a wanna-be Mussolini. Screw separation of powers, screw popular sovereignty. If we just get the right academics in the room and ignore the Constitution we can make America a utopia.

He was the original "Progressive" president. Much of what the left believes today can be traced right back to him and his "smartest people in the room" cadre. Therefore, he must be protected at all costs.

534 But when they float their own conspiracy theories...? I don't see Twitter marking this tweet as "dangerous" in spreading misinformation and conspiracy theories about cooked models and projections.

I don't see Chris Hayes blocked from his account until he deletes this Fake News conspiracy theory.

Now, if someone on the right were to suggest that the models were merely wrong -- not deliberately rigged -- he would be censored.

That is exactly what is happening on Facebook. And not even for conspiracy theories, but simply for posting exactly what Dr. Birx stated regarding overcounting of COVID-19 deaths.

I posted a link from JJ's Morning Report earlier of the article where Dr. Birx is quoted as stating that they are likely overcounting COVID-19 deaths. And before I could even press post, I get a message popup from Facebook stating 'FALSE INFORMATION!" And stating that "Independent Fact-Checkers" have determined that "experts" agree that deaths have been UNDER-counted.

F---ing ridiculous how "social media" is working in concert with the media and Chinese Communists to "fact-check".

539 Wait, the modeler-in-chief is Dr. Deborah Birx. She is the one who used the Imperial College numbers to panic every governor into demanding hospital beds, PPE, and ventilators, ventilators, ventilators. She is the one who breathed a sigh of relief when Neil Ferguson revised his numbers. She is the one who has employed the numbers generated by the nameless, faceless IHME, which just happens to be heavily funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She is the one who has "confirmed" those numbers repeatedly with reference to her own "data," even as the institute has revised its numbers downward every three days. Trump has very much wanted her numbers to be wrong; has repeatedly expressed his hope that they are overestimates; and has clearly begun to distrust her, her staff, colleagues, models, projections and data, even as he has accepted her recommendations. How can someone be wrong over and over and over again without wearing out her welcome?
