Poll: 15% of Sanders Supporters Would Vote for Trump Over Biden

#NeverBiden.

If former Vice President Joe Biden secures the Democratic presidential nomination, 15% of Sen. Bernie Sanders' supporters will vote for President Donald Trump's reelection, according to an ABC News/Washington Post poll.

If accurate, that would represent a slightly larger defection than occurred after the bitter battle between Sanders and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in 2016, when 12% of Sanders voters broke for Trump in the general election.

The good news for Biden is that in spring 2016, an ABC News poll found 20% of Sanders supporters said they would vote for Trump over Clinton, and far fewer ended up doing so. And 80% of Sanders' supporters said they would back Biden over Trump, according to the poll.

The 15% who said they plan to vote for Trump represents just 6% of Democrats and voters who lean Democratic, according to ABC News. Trump won 8% of Democrats in 2016.

But... see... The Bernie or Bust people aren't the only Democrats who support Trump, which is what ABCNews is implying when they compare the 6% of Democrats of the Bernie or Bust subgroup voting for Trump vs. the 8% of all Democrats who voted for Trump in 2016.

You add on the rest of the disaffected Democrats on top of that 6%.

Joe Rogan, who called himself a Bernie supporter (Bernie was forced to repudiate the endorsement, because Rogan doesn't believe that men should be beating the shit out of women in contact sports), now says he'd support Trump over Biden.

And he doesn't even hem and haw or make lots of noises of reluctance. He just states, straight up, that Biden is mentally incapable of being president.

And he makes a point that should be made more: "And we don't even know what he'll be like after a year," noting that most presidents (except Trump) age quickly -- they nearly wither -- during their presidency.

Amusingly, a Biden supporter at New York Magazine has a sound advice as to how Joe Biden can improve his terrible, incoherent podcast: Less Joe Biden.

Funny post by John Sexton. Seriously, this guy has several "suggestions" but they all involve bringing in co-hosts, guest hosts, carton mascots, talking animals.

Anything to keep The Sage of Scranton from any attempts to communicate with voters.

But we're already seeing less Joe Biden every day. They're hiding this frail, decrepit, senile old rapist from the public and, as John Sexton says, only trot him out occasionally not for any purpose of informing the public, but only as a brief "proof of life."

How much less Joe Biden can there be?

Sadly, that's a mystery that only a Cognitive Acuity Test can answer.

Or an actuarial table.

Or a wacky 80s comedy about a dead guy.

weekendatbidens.jpg

People understand that with aging and senility that you just don't "get over it," right?

It seems that the Party of Science (TM) and the very liberal-leaning and science-based NeverTrumpers expect Joey Fingers' age-related dementia to just pass as if were a common cold. He just needs some bedrest and some chicken soup and he'll be the ignorant moron he was at age 38 again.

The Bernie Bros at the Hill's podcast discusses the growing NeverBiden movement, Joe Rogan, and Biden's "Wall Street/suburban coalition."

What choice do they have? They put up a cast of candidates of all sorts - gay, women, "people of color" - and their primary voters told them Biden. The only other candidate that received approval from the primary voters (those I would guess are your core party voters) is Bernie and he's toxic outside of the far Left core of the party. And as for parachuting someone in late, they had Bloomberg try to jump in late and he got outright rejected, so I would suppose the bring someone in at the convention tactic was tested and found wanting.

It's funny what triggers us. You pile up all the CCP horror show stories (Lin Zhao for one) and it's beyond defending and yet it's the smuggled prison video from China showing all prisoners sleeping in the exact same position, on the side, in a semi fetal position. 279 Getting Back to Normal

"I would lift stay-at-home orders except for known risk groups. We already know certain conditions that are predictive of severe disease. Especially since young healthy lungs tend to be resistant, I would let the virus circulate in the population that is not likely to get severe disease from it. This is the only path that comes close to balancing the needs of all groups. Vaccines are not coming anytime soon, so natural immunity is the only way out for now. Every day, every week in the current situation is ruining innumerable lives in a criminally unjust manner."

"When it comes to vaccines, coronaviruses are not known for imparting enduring immunity, and this will be one big challenge. It seems the genetic code is relatively conserved, and this will help the development of the vaccine. But we're still looking at the end of the year. In the meantime, the world is an innovative place, and I expect many effective treatments --- both new and repurposed --- shortly.
The question then will be regulation, expense and availability."

"Medically, the new normal will be the old normal. As long as innovation continues, medicine will conquer everything in our way."

President George W. Bush's longest stretch between prime-time, nationally televised press conferences was 214 days, from April 4 to Nov. 4, 2004. Mr. Obama tops that record on Monday, going 215 days - stretching back to July 22, according to records kept by CBS Radio's veteran reporter Mark Knoller.

About 7 months.

Months back, Biden camp source directly confirmed that they had structured his primary schedule to be not very strenuous.

No debates. Few public appearances. Increasingly ridiculous, un-American, Soviet-style "campaign".

Apart from the degradation of it all - and that such an absurd nothing will still get 47% of the popular vote - darkly hilarious.

371 @259

Moving battery and electronics fabrication back to the US is going to be a tough roe to hoe.

I don't think the executive has enough authority to toss out all environmental and OSHA regs to accomplish that.

A lot of toxic materials go into batteries and electronics.

Lead Acid and Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries are pretty damn toxic in their constituent parts.

And I don't think we have a single lead smelter or lithium iron plant in operation in America.

But we do have to start the process.

We need to have damn well started with critical Pharmaceuticals like yesterday.

Fashion critique: today's outfit is not my fave. She has a bright bold scarf with a fancy tie, and she has a beautiful statement jacket with a unique texture and shape. They are fighting against each other for attention. Pick one or the other. Either do a simpler jacket/clean neutrals with the scarf, OR keep the scarf much simpler with the jacket or forego a scarf.

TBH, I am sick of the whole shut-it-down crowd. They have no plan and it takes them 8 weeks to see the obvious.

But she is inadvertently making the point that the family are the bricks that society is built from. It is the essential element. The progressives have spent the past 80 years trying to destroy the family for a reason.

Likewise, the state is the essential building block of our country, and the nation is the essential, indivisible, element for the world. Progressives have been trying to break up these bricks and rebuild the sand as a giant heap with them on top.

Although, I don't think that was what she meant,.

The problem with doctors is that they study for their M.D.s so intensively that they lose track of the real world. How many times have doctors said "Well, why didn't you see me right away? Why didn't you see me sooner?" Let's see...because I have a job, and I don't necessarily have the sick hours to cover the lost time? Many don't get that.

I had a dental hygienist that I referred to for three years or so as "Psycho". She was so intent on cleaning my teeth that she did everything in her power to permanently pound my eyeglasses into my eye sockets (don't ask). For her, my life revolved fully around my teeth and her. (The last time she cleaned my teeth, she was very preggers, so she couldn't necessarily do anything crazy in order to clean my teeth.) She could not grasp that I was not about to brush my teeth 3-4 times a day. My twice a day was fine. She fumed. Psycho also read me the Riot Act for not flossing - not understanding nor caring that with braces this was a complete bitch. (One of the joys of the braces being gone was my ability to floss was back in full force.)

These attitudes can be found in the medical world in spades. And this is how the country is being run right now.

--------------

Lots of Lead Acid Battery manufacturers here in the US.

I think we finally closed the last operating lead mine a few years ago.

But we do recycle like 99+% of lead from lead batteries.

I used to maintain and test batteries in power plants. The large individual cells often had a hundred or more pounds of lead in them, and the individual cells were connected together in strings of 60 or 120 cells. Some power plants had 4-8 individual battery strings too. They last 10-20 years before they wear out, and we made sure they all got recycled.

The lead and acid is nasty stuff. Recycling it keeps our environment clean!

Posted by: rd at April 07, 2020 07:20 PM (+0uDE)

Didn't they used to just burn all of them and pump that stuff out into the air? I recall seeing a picture of it happening back in the 1960s or 1970s. Is that EPA propaganda or did it really happen?

537 One of my favorite things to say to poorly controlled diabetics is:

If you don't control your sugar now, you will die 10 years sooner, and your last 10 years you will wish you were dead. You will get infections in your toes that will never go away, and they will start cutting parts off until your legs are gone below the knees, then you will get an infection in your ass from sitting all the time and die a slow death.

That doesn't win you customers in the concierge world.

Nah. Lead is dead easy to recycle. You're probably thinking of zinc smelters and such, where the effluent was from the smelting; they weren't burning off stuff intentionally. That would be money going up the flue.

Can you imagine what Obama would do in this situation? A tweet from a private golf course, while playing with Jay Z?

I think the next press "play" will be to criticize Trump for holding these informative pressers and claim its stealth campaigning, or something.

People watching him directly eery day at these things are impressed, and the MFM has to put a stop to that.

You just want to hide all of Trumps disastrous failures! /sarc

Actually this is good. Everyone can know what is happening in America. Trump can also push the narrative where he wants it to go.

Remember the Day of the Generals? Trump said that he is pushing the war against drug smuggling and cartels. He also was able to publicly warn Iran to not try any shit in Iraq.

By Monday next week, Deaths will be decreasing, so will rate of new cases, and PDT can start pushing the Reopening of America.

Exactly. If you are trying to game out a situation where the media will not attack Trump then you are on a fool's errand. They will always attack him. He just has to pick the situations where he can get something in return, and I think these pressers work for him. He gets to counterattack in real time, demonstrate that he has a mastery of facts, show that he is not crazy or unreasonable, and let the press make absolute fools of themselves.

*********

Big difference between clinicians and the epidemiologist/virologist/government 'doctors'. This epidemic is a wet dream for a guy like Fauci. He has shown no capability that I've seen to relate bad information in a calm, measured, reassuring manner. If he were a clinician he'd probably inform the patient, "Well, Mr. Jones. You've got cancer. Gonna be the worst two weeks of your life, get your affairs in order, but you can take comfort in the fact that it's a particularly fascinating form of cancer that I wrote a paper on back in 1997." He's feeding his ego off the reactions of the media. A heartless prick if you ask me.
