"Fusion Ken" Dilanian Has a Fever and the Only Prescription Is More Propaganda on Behalf of China

Does FusionGPS have a new client?

Remember, FusionGPS has previously worked for the Russian and Venezuelan governments, seeding those hostile regimes' propaganda into the US press, planting foreign countries' propaganda through friendly "journalists," some of whom Fusion has admitted to directly paying for " " " " " research " " " " " purposes.

So: Is FusionGPS now working for Communist China, and using, as usual, Ken Dilanian as a paid mouthpiece to plant their client's propaganda in the American press?

It's impossible to say with so little information available. That said, the answer is "Yes, obviously."

Remember a few weeks ago when the New York Times claimed that China donated medical equipment to Italy (a country which they infected with the plague), only to admit in paragraph 28 that China did not donate this equipment, but sold it?

Well, now Fusion Ken is selling the same story -- that China is stepping up and donating medical equipment to Italy.

Is this the same story, repackaged for Fusion? Has China actually announced a new effort where they'll actually donate the allegedly donated equipment rather than selling it?

I don't know -- but I know that FusionKen and NBCNews can't be relied upon to tell you the honest answers.

The "American" media is just rewriting copy directly from the Chinese Ministry of Propaganda.

Hearings and DOJ invetigations. NOW.

My sister was really sick for a few days about 3 weeks ago. Was feeling fine in the morning, suddenly felt like shit. No respiratory problems though - just a bad headache and weakness.

She's a nurse and has wondered if it was corona. She thinks probably not, since she went back to work 5 days after getting sick and nobody in her department got sick. I didn't catch her bug either.

Remember, corona isn't the only virus around. There are weird things floating around every year. And people say they have the "flu" when they don't have the flu. If it's intestinal, it's not the flu.

232 @20: "How serious/unconfortable are the symptoms?"

I'm not a doctor, and I've never played one of television, but I'd say this virus really does affect everyone differently. Sure, common symptoms, but I suspect those with any kind of auto-immune troubles, or any family history of auto-immune disease, are gonna get hit harder than others, and their experiences might not follow the usual pattern or timeline of symptoms.

1. First sign of trouble was waking up one morning and suddenly having pain in both wrists and ankles. I've never experienced anything like that before. Maybe best described as a rheumatoid arthritis flare up. RA does run in my mother's family, so maybe there's a connection. My brother had gout troubles in college, but he was a bigger guy. I've had two big toe flares up in my lifetime, and the pain was gone within six hours both times.

2. Woke up day two with neck glands swollen and hard. I used to get strep throat and short term mononucleosis every spring in middle school and junior high, so I know what glands should and shouldn't feel like. This isn't mono though. No huge wave of fatigue, major sore throat, or sinus involvement. Just swollen glands.

3. Day three was underarm glands, slight fever, general but faint soreness and aches, center of chest pain at the end of deep breaths, quick to sweat during simple physical activity like walking, etc.

4. Woke up day four with another sore joint experience, lungs feeling a tiny bit "wet" all day, dull pain in center of chest but not too painful, mental fogginess, some fatigue.

5. Similar to day four, but neck glands a little worse.

Anyways, from everything I've read online, I guess the next seven days will tilt me towards feeling better, or going to the hospital for meds. I haven't experienced any major fever, chills, cold sweats, nausea, or loss of appetitive. I'm taking basic aspirin, echmneca and milk thistle, green tea, plenty of fluids, etc.

I'm not worried yet, and assuming my immune system takes care of this on its own, then honestly, I'll be relieved to have gotten this outta the way, sooner than later.

But, I will say, I'm surprised to have caught this and be symptomatic, given my age and general health. I figured I'd be one of the lucky ones who was asymptomatic. Again, I didn't catch this from high risk working environments, bad hygiene, or anything obvious. Just going to the grocery store every day in a major metro area, and maybe drinking a little too much whiskey from time to time.

Stay safe out there, everyone. Coronavirus is no joke.

--- Fantasy sports (no NHL, NBA or MLB)
--- watching sports (no NHL, NBA or MLB spring training)
--- playing sports (Michigan on 'stay-at-home' orders, so no gatherings)

So I've been spending pretty much all my time on AoSHQ reading the posts and comments and then researching things as I find links in posts and from commenters.

I'm obsessed with finding as much info as I can, so I can stay up to date, but there's a breaking point.

I've learned to step away and try to watch something on TV or pop in a movie to watch.

But going on 13 straight days now of not leaving the apartment but 3 times for groceries, I'm going a little stir-crazy. At least with work, it was getting me out of the apartment and interacting with people.

Living alone through this and not having my usual escape of sports (watching and/or playing) is taking a toll.

I'm pretty much a loner anyway, so I can get through this, despite my complaints here. But I imagine this is affecting others a lot more.

250 TWO RELATED QUESTIONS:

(1) Does anyone know what kind of policies (are there ANY?) people like Fusion Ken operate under at NBC on things like taking money from Fusion GPS outfits for pre-packaged "news stories" (probably called "background research")? Are these "journalists" allowed to freely take money, not from NBC (in this case), related to the work product they produce for NBC? Like, if Fusion GPS's bank records showing payments to "journalists" HAD been made public, would that have at least established violation of internal "journalism" policies to these peeps? (Not that the NBCs of the world would have enforced those policies.... just wondering IF there are policies prohibiting this kind of conduct).

(2) Related, does anyone know whether outfits like NBC have any policies whereby they're supposed to disclose when all or substantially all of a "news story" by one of its journalists is actually the work product of a 3rd party?

Look, I'm a lawyer, so I get that it would be fairly easy to circumvent any such policies. But that's easier at the editorial leadership level than the line-reporter level. It would probably easily fly if Fusion GPS is just handing these reporters pre-packaged "research" and "suggested articles" based on that research, if there was no $ involved.

But as soon as Fusion GPSs of the world give a "journalist" something of value IN EXCHANGE for taking and using Fusion GPS work product, it's an entirely different scenario. CLEARLY horrendously unethical, by any measure. But what are the internal rules at these outfits on that?? Are these journalists supposed to at least internally disclose when this happens? Do they need approval? Or, do peeps like Fusion Ken do their Fusion GPS deals on the side, keeping it secret from management? Or, given the partisanship of Editorial Leadership, do they just pretend they don't know? Or, do THEY take the Fusion $, and Fusion Ken is just "doing his job"?

Would be super interesting to know how this issue REALLY plays out on the inside of these organizations.

I'm very sorry to say, I lean towards everyone overtly being in on it. Why? Because of the AMAZING coordination across media companies, not only of the stories, but the identical verbiage of the same stories.

It's so common, it's not even a story to complain about it. It's literally every day, almost every story. We've all seen the super-clips of media personalities across multiple platforms using the EXACT same talking points within hours of Story [X] gaining traction in any given cycle. There's GOT to be a well built-out, tech driven methodology to it all.

They've all be working from the EXACT same script for years, even before Trump. It's Journalist, what, 5.0?

Honestly, and this may sound weird, but a week before symptoms appeared, I actually had a better sense of smell; like usually good, wow, why am I smelling things so differently. Smell back to normal now, maybe a little dull. No change in taste for better or worse.

304 Trust me, when things go South, you find out what people are really made of. Most people can bluff their way through every day life, but when a crisis hits you can't fake it. You need to act and make important decisions.

Look around at the past few weeks and tell me some of the we political buffoons are people you can trust your life with. Look at the media and tell me these are people you can entrust your freedom to.

The president has outshined everyone. Here's a guy that was admittedly bombastic, but he's seen hard times before and it shows. He's cool, in control and most of all decisive. I am so proud of CiNC right now I can't even express it.

Now look around at some of these Blue State Hair on Fire governors, with their end of the world predictions, shutting down gun stores and generally proceeding based on politics, not common sense.

Are politics really worth your families lives? Nope. And a lot of people get that now.

The media has always been against the American people be have proceeded based on their personal political beliefs, truth be damned. But now they've been outed as full throated supporters of the Communist Chinese over our citizens and our republic. It's both shocking and disgusting. I wish them nothing but to reap what they sow. They are the lowest pieces of shit on our planet.

332 @174: "Wife and I had something back end of December, first week of January. Acted like the flu, was down for four days, then bam, magically, it was gone."

Indeed. My personal theory is that this virus has been widespread internationally for three to six months longer than assumed. Also, I think the infection rate is actually lower than expected, but the virus survives outside the body longer than usual. It simmers in population centers quietly, and it spikes unusually quick, not because it's more infectious or deadly, rather because a critical mass has finally been reached after a slow and steady build up.

Now, I think this will kill off a large number of products due to the supply chain issues that most of the mouth breathers in these companies didn't anticipate. Production of critical goods like pharmaceuticals will definitely come back. Companies like GKS who were hiding that products like Excedrin were made with most of the ingredients produced in China better get their shit together. Whether leadership enforces those policies is yet another separate issue. Look, it's no different than any other employee agreement. "Thou shall not sexually harass anyone." That's what the rule says, but whether and how leadership enforces it is different question.

You know as well as i how it goes - it is enforced against people they don't like, it is utterly ignored for people they do like, who are pursuing the goals Mgmt wants to pursue. Which means there are no rules at all, just pure political vindictiveness. In the long run, a shop with that total lack of any ethical sense will die, but they can cause a lot of damage in the short run.

Two guys I know panicked about this and one thought I was out of my head when I told him this was an over-reaction based on incomplete data.

He was also skeptical, and questioned my sources, when I told him I didn't think this flu was going to have a mortality rate that was that much more significant than the seasonal flu that goes around every year.

It really surprised me, because these are grown ass men with a family and they were in the "ZOMG we're all gonna die unless someone does something" camp.

Mosin sniper..I won't lie to you.,scope is real but its one of them mosin snipers rebuilt in one of them Russian or Ukranian armories. Rifle WWII. Scope WII..but that was not the scope on that rifle in WWII. They added that on later. Still commands a premium but not mad money, Beware the fakers.Scope is good.

479 22 lr rifle for a family. You could go single shot to start or a Ruger 10/22 just to learn to shoot. And the later will work for home defense if you need it.

I would say for a new shooter a 20 gauge is a better call for heavy artillery/home defense. A 12 gauge is great of course but it will beat you up when practicing. A 20 gauge with #4 buck is going to be pretty darn effective in the rare case you need it.

Hmmm. Have always shied away from the snipers, because $, and also (so far) have a "no glass" policy, all iron-sights.

Hmm.

508 You know what I was thinking about this morning?
Postponed/cancelled weddings.
All the money spent, non-refundable deposits, small businesses like florists losing that account.

Trivial, but multiply that by all the weekends of lockdowns.

510 I really don't know why the change in position. Our HR person has been running around like a child, freaking everyone out this week. Signs everywhere and calling people at home demanding to know if they are "really sick". She was smiling during the meeting. She insisted everyone at the meeting stand five feet away from everyone else. I don't like her very much.

Well, if said intruder is in a house three or four doors down, sure.

Otherwise, for local home defense, might be lacking.

Pre oil boom, there wasn't that much jihad. Then Saudi struck it rich. Sent hard core preacher out of country to keep the lid on at home. And countries with hard core & well funded preachers became hard core...

514 M1 155mm "Long Tom" when you really want to reach out and touch the enemy.

As to the 88, it was a game changer in the war, but it was also confused for other German artillery, much like the ubiquitous "Tiger tank" allied troops "saw" whenever they encountered panzers of any kind.

515 That was the go to method in the NY/PA Deer Woods.

Unless you were lucky enough to have access to a Farm where you could get shots over 50 yards!

Posted by: garrett at March 26, 2020 04:56 PM (lELxn)

Yeah that is East Coast hunting. I read once the average range for a bow kill was around 10 yards.

516 Harder to find 00 Buck for 20 gauge. Have 20 gauge slugs.

Anyone who uses slugs in any gauge shotgun for home defense is just asking for charges from an overzealous DA for over penetration innocent bystander causalities.

Just like we had a guy in a shooting that had a .45 ACP with 5 extra mags on his belt. It did not go well for him even though it could have been considered a justifiable shooting if he wasn't outfitted like Rambo.

Inside of 20 feet and there is no seperation. I have shot Pheasant at longer distace (Full/Full) and pulled the full cup out of them.

Nobody is getting up from tht kind of impact.

I do have some unissued K-31's but it would take mad monety for me to part with those.

UNISSUED?? Seriously? Plural??

I LOVE me some straight pull Swiss rifles. I own a walnut and a birch stock.

Walnut has issue tag under the butt plate.

Compared to a Mosin... or hell Even an Enfiled.... that thing is a Swisswatch of firearm engineering

i hear ya. I don't know the ballistics but agree in general. I was just saying what some have said as a general home defense round. For sure no one wants to get hit by bird shot at close range.

521 Not sure if this is posted above--BUT, China also SOLD faulty testing kits to Czechs---this was on bbc.com last night. The press, predictably, had claimed they were "donations".

522 @ fixer upper, Yep I have 2 unissued K-31's I have 7 in total, a mix of birch and walnut stocks, I have about 4600 rounds of that Swiss ammo in those black boxes stacked up. I bought it cheap and stacked it deep back in the day because I have no faith in gummit and am a general outlaw/asshole

525 ..So if ace bugs out to TX, he'll have to be put in storage for 2 weeks? I'm sure some TX Moron has a spare shed or pool house for him.

But this (FL did similar already) is the kind of thing containment will require. And obviously it's very disruptive.

Which is why responding to epidemics in the era of universal/easy/cheap travel is very challenging.

I've got room for a 20 ft. Conex box in the backyard.

Send the Ewok on down. I'll order a couple week's worth of Kaboom and expired MREs from Amazon's unclaimed merchandise warehouse.

534 Does it seem to anyone else that the black-hat team may be getting their signals crossed? I assume they want to get Trump to ease restrictions, and then count every subsequent death as a "grim milestone", right?

But if at the same time, they are singing "What a trusty friend we have in China", doesn't that kind of reduce the perceived potential for catastrophe?
