Washington Post Doxxes Internet Rando with Only 400 Followers, Just For Saying He Thinks That Economics Are, At Some Point, As Important as Lives

You're not permitted to disagree with the media.

Disagreeing with the media is Heresy.

And heretics will be burned at the stake.

It's time to start doxxing the media.

Update: Moron Robbie points out that a main assumption of ObamaCare would be to "rationally distribute health care away from the infirm and weak."

Obama -- "President Boyfriend" -- said that if his elderly grandmother needed an expensive operation, she should just take an aspirin instead.

And all the liberals said, "yes, the SCIENCE says they're going to die anyway, let us speed them on their way and reap the $aving$!!!"

Seems that within just a few years' time, leftists have completely reversed their position on saving money vs. maximum preservation of the elderly's lives.

Now -- when their political interests requires a depression -- they take the position that there is literally no sum of money too high to save one elderly person's life.

Not what they were saying when they were pushing death panels and voluntary directives -- when elderly people were encouraged to sign living wills saying "don't spend too much ObamaCare money on trying to save or extend my life."

Here's Obama saying that "maybe" old people are "better off" just taking painkillers -- death quickeners -- instead of having life-improving or even -saving surgeries that could cost the government money.

"Look, the first thing for all of us to understand that is we actually have some -- some choices to make about how we want to deal with our own end-of-life care," Mr. Obama replied. After discussing ways "we as a culture and as a society [can start] to make better decisions within our own families and for ourselves," he continued that in general "at least we can let doctors know and your mom know that, you know what? Maybe this isn't going to help. Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."

They've decided to come for The Federalist next.

Josh Marshall -- a Locally-Sourced Creampie Connoisseur -- darkly threatens of "accountability" for The Federalist.

Meanwhile, the usual suspects, including leftwing pressure/doxxing group Sleeping Giants, call for the doxxing of The Federalist's donors.

Keeping lists, you say?

Well, I guess we'll just have to keep a little list of our own.

As I (and probably you) are now Confirmed Heretics, here are some more unsayable heresies.

35 I wrote this earlier today:
---
Okay, calling this guy's parents is ridiculous. However, what he said was stupid. There are perfectly compassionate reasons for restarting the economy as well.

As outside of a levied economy--which the libs aren't overtly embracing--this country has funds according to the GDP and the market. The libs make a false dichotomy between the market and "compassion", because it could be said to be true that an economy levied toward compassion, would allocate more resources to compassionate ends.

However, that undistributes power and discretion, and power is a inducement away from compassion. And progs and conservatives disagree on whether you can offer some "New Man" the ages-old inducement of power and come up with new behavior.

So we have markets as the engine to our communal funding. Trump is not being uncompassionate when he says that we cannot have the cure be worse than the disease. The argument that this is proactive, communal thinking, I think, is strong.

I just see it as the wish-casting of libs that just can't adjust to living in the world they live in that says that compassion is opposed to market health.

37 So, as I understand this, if Trump will invoke policies that the Democrats and the Media demand to deal with this virus...

Can I infer by extension that if we leave those policies in place forever, no one will die again. Or am I just being absurd?

I have a couple questions -

52 This is an excellent lesson in federalism. Trump is trying to get US citizens to understand that they are in charge
via elections. The courts will back off (or they are supposed to,
anyway) if the proper remedy is a "political" one, but the left is
depleting the power of the vote by imposing laws at the federal level,
so that citizens have no voice. (common core; the new green deal)
The
governors are supposed to be accountable to the voters, and this was a
very good demonstration.
I'm really alarmed that there have been no lawsuits filed, since the shutdowns are unconstitutional on many, many levels.
So Trump's got a tough job.

60 Live free or die ... but I'd say at some point "commerce" is more important than an over-abundance of caution ...

Most deaths are due to a certain level of disregard for danger. Driving a car is an obvious one, most jobs have some degree of danger. Farming has twice the death rate of cops, yet farmers love their lives ... aware of the danger of heavy equipment.

Risk reward, not a difficult concept. People risked dying to get OUT of East Germany, they risk dying to get from Guatemala to illegally get INTO USA. Most wars measure risk/reward ... and we send our best off to die ... but that is one where the elite send off patriots to die for the elites profits ... at least in some cases.

And who is going to do that?

I'm not being snarky (or Snorky, for that matter). I would like a serious answer to a serious question. Because I see a lot of justified keyboard anger - and yes, I participate in it too, so I am no innocent - but I don't see any of these assholes suffering so much as mussed hair.

So I ask again - who is going to doxx the media?

170 Inslee and Garcetti can talk tough/stupid now, but that'll disappear like a GOP filibuster of O-care the instant the "corners are turned" on acceleration of new cases and it's clear the medical levees won't be over-topped by the waters. People are being very cooperative and patient but once the danger of a triage-festival is past the medical/public health consensus will logically shift away from broad-based measures.

And there'll be the example, already weeks old most likely, of large parts of the US going to limited measures, owing to small and stable or shrinking case-load.

OK, I have something uncomfortable to say as well.

Most of these people at risk, at actual, non-panic risk are elderly.

And I have an abiding love for old folks, particularly my own parents and a few of my dad's siblings. And I think society has duty toward its grandparents that isn't a particularly high priority for Americans, as a rule. That's a sad thing. And I think that our society is also rapidly degenerating from the thing that our grandparents built, growing terribly worse with each successive generation.

So, if respirators and ICU beds are in short supply, I recommend we triage the youngest first.

On the plus side, I guess, WA will get universal, all-persons testing. I mean, if there's a shutdown until there are *no* cases possible, they're gonna have to test all the people in the state, right? I mean, otherwise Insley can't be sure, right? And since they are, after all, the party of SCIENCE then I am sure they will begin comprehensive universal testing immediately, and then repeat the test in a few weeks' time to be doubly sure before reopening things.

their advertisers. I recall a fun night online years ago when a mid

advertisers.

Sure the WAPO is not mid

Contact random companies that advertise with them and tell them you will
never use their product as long as they are linked to them. Sure it is

Some people take pride in working the system. In CA one of their failed experiments was BMR (below market rate) housing. They put one on each corner in our neighborhood of $1M+ homes. They pay pennies on the dollar. They don't need to conform to HOA rules. While they're not supposed to rent etc. they do. So they can be paying a mortgage of a few hundred bucks, and rent the home out for $3-4k a month.

The people on my corner - the dude's family are hotel tycoons. But, he doesn't like working. So, he's scammed the system. They've got 2 BMW's and Mercedes, a garage full of ATV's and motorcycles. And a boat. He rents out one of the rooms, and his kids sell meth outside. It's freaking awesome. The cops are more than familiar with this group.

Of course, the brilliant city managers that did this wanted to have low income housing, but thought instead of putting them all in one place, to bring down our property values because "pride in ownership" in a nice neighborhood. There's no pride in free shit, because it's got no value. Just pride in getting away with it.

In case anyone wonders why I am so wildly protective of the Super Sekrit Identity, there's a reason.

I'm in an interesting exchange right now with some people in Scott Adams timeline about whether hospitals are overrun or not. Shockingly, it's an interesting and civil discussion because what is being batted around is that it is regional.

NYC appears to have major issues.

Seattle appears to have major issues.

New Orleans and Baton Rouge appear to have major issues.

Whereas other parts of the country not only are not seeing hospitals overrun but hospitals empty because of the cancellation of non-emergency procedures.

So as more actual numbers emerge, it appears to be a regional issue and thus responses should be tailored accordingly.

457 Yes, but is it okay to suggest that the economy is more important than "saving" the elderly?
Yes, that was part of the core of Obamacare.
Indeed it is part of the NHS and other "universal coverage" systems from Europe.
For that matter, go do a simple search on George Bernard Shaw promoting a "production test" for inclusion in society.

This connects to the statement of the Texas Lt. Gov. He suggested the elderly voluntarily sacrifice themselves by leaving lockdown and working.
"Voluntary" being rather different from "mandatory".
Not that the media cares.
Or that socialists understand - "Everything not Forbidden is Compulsory" and all that.

Which gets to the heart of the matter - the entire discussion is being forced on the basis of a hefty dose of the fallacy o the excluded middle.
It is not actually a choice between saving the economy of saving the elderly.
In point of fact, without a functioning economy it would be impossible to even try to save the elderly!
And ending the lockdown does not require the mandatory infection of the elderly.
It might not even require particularly increasing the risk to the elderly, depending on whether the lockdown is selectively lifted. Clearly people can receive deliveries during the lockdown. There is no reason that cannot continue.

Should we sacrifice the elderly for the sake of the economy, or the economy for the sake of the elderly?
I would rather we save the economy for the sake of the elderly, and the elderly for the sake of our humanity.
I would even dare to suggest that this the most politically expedient choice as well.

458 Interesting points above, always good to see the marketplace of ideas in full flower despite the best efforts of the PRC propagandists.

One thing I think we can all agree on though:

Fuck China.

""President Boyfriend" -- said that if his elderly grandmother needed an expensive operation, she should just take an aspirin instead."

Oh, as if. I figured the odds were very good that us commoner's grandmas would get sugar pills if they got anything at all. See if triggering the placebo effect would do the trick.

Teh Won's grandma would get the finest treatment ever.

462 I am not sick from coronavirus. The monkeyshines of the political left and the media are, however, making me somewhat ill. It's the ongoing stress of the sudden evaporation of savings and the constant threat of
unemployment and larger disaster. It's sort of corrosive. It's similar to the effect of being laid off, but worse in a way.

I feel like I did for the 2-3 months before the 2016 election. It was all-out war, very stressful but with hope of a happy outcome.

Reminded me of "The Last Leaf" by Poe for some reason which I read almost 45 years ago.

465 The Last Leaf was by O.Henry, William Sydney Porter, but
Mr. Poe wrote some really good ones too.

466 Re the San Diego lawyer (McMillan) tweet. 'And despite his small following on Twitter, having less than 400 followers at the time, his tweet exploded on the platform after a screenshot of the tweet was shared by ex-GOP strategist Rick Wilson to his over 766,000 followers.'
