Young Internet Influencers Have a New Way to Get Attention: Licking Stuff in Public to Spread Coronavirus

You know what gallows humor means?

It means I'm going to laugh my ass off when angry mobs start lynching these fuckers in the street.

A man in Missouri was arrested after licking a row of products on a Walmart shelf and filming it, then posting it to social media.

Before licking the items he said, "Who's scared of the coronavirus?" The video also has text on it that reads, "I'm a nasty moths ******!!!"

...

The Riverfront Times reported Tuesday that the man, 26-year-old Cody Pfister, was charged with "making a terrorist threat."

Tim Pool said he's facing five years in prison -- which sounds right to me.

I don't care that it's a prank. It's stupid and it's in callous disregard of other people's safety -- just to get some internet attention.

Here's another stupid social-media "fame" chasing thot who deserves some jail time.

She filmed herself doing the "Coronavirus Challenge," which consisted of her licking an airplane toilet seat.

Now, I think the idea was that she was risking her own health -- but if this almost-certainly promiscuous little thot had the bug, she was also spreading it to whoever sat on the toilet seat next.

Arrest her too.

A male (?) "influencer" also decided he would lick a public toilet seat in order to gain internet attention.

He's now hospitalized with coronavirus.

But did he get it from the toilet seat? Or did he already have it, and spread it to the toilet seat, and thereby to innocent people?

The only way to be certain is to carefully draw a sample of his blood, swab his cheek for a skin cell sample, dig a hole, shoot him in the fucking head, and then throw his body and the sample of blood and skin into the hole.

Instapundit recently posed a quote from Robert Heinlein: "Stupidity is a crime and the sentence is always death." Hear, hear. Make it so.

AP: In keeping with the Trump Administration pledge to empower localities to pursue whatever practical measures they can to stem the tide of infection, police departments across the nation are asserting that they will "look the other way" when citizens selectively kill fruit-licking teenagers in grocery stores.

"We have other things to attend to," said police commissioner Buzz Tango. "You see some kid licking an apple? Do your neighbors a favor. Kill him."

One big difference between this economic crisis and the one in 2008-2009 is that government has shut down entire sections of the economy here. Wisely or not, the problem is self inflicted in some ways. You cannot kill someones job, and then offer nothing in return. For instance, not one waitress asked to be terminated, the government has taken that job from them.

He has not done this on other key issues, like border security and illegal mass migration, of course has not made any GOP feel the heat on these matters, and has received the predictable legislative results.

This one is clear and concrete enough, with public attention/emotion right, to do it. He didn't do it already, which is unfortunate, but might not be too late.

158 Ace and folks, in case you missed this comment earlier:

If you guys haven't seen this yet, it's pretty great:

Not political, not humor not taking sides -- a guy built a fascinting "epidemic simulator" javascript app on this page, along with detail explanations, that allows people to adjust the various parameters of any infectious disease scenario, and then you can watch it play out in a very accurate (schematized) simulation of an epidemic:

https://www.meltingasphalt.com/interactive/outbreak/

If you want to skip all the steps and explanation, the best/.most complete simulator is about 2/3s of the way down, with the four sliders and the big grid:

Fatality rate 3%
Encounters per day 10
Travel radius 5
Transmission rate 0.3

Play with that one for a while. Totally addictive!

And it reveals a fascinating thing: Even the SLIGHTEST change in one of more of the parameters can produce vastly different outcomes.

And since we do not know what these parameters are for Covid-19, this proves that ANYBODY who predicts ANYTHING about this outbreak is just making up lies to get facetime on TV. No one know anything.

Anyway, this can be the most guilt-free video game you've ever played, because it's relevant to current events.

The situation in Japan isn't just a question of being relationship averse. The problem young men aren't benefiting from the role they're supposed to play, so they're checking out of society completely. They're not getting married because marriage doesn't bring them any benefit, but more importantly they're not doing any of the things that make them attractive partners for women. Like, for instance, getting a job.

We'll also need the President to lead on this however. He can put the heart in us. I know the people of Pennsylvania (not in teachers or state store unions) want desperately to work!

This is going to gut the restaurant and service industries.

Taking the Morgan Stanley projections, which Trump himself is losing, we are now looking at a greater drop in economic output in the 2nd quarter of 2020 than happened in the *Entire* Great Depression. That's how Bad this is.

And during the Great Depression, most people still had chicken coops out back, and still knew how to sew their own clothes, and didn't worry about making any insurance payments, because there wasn't any for the most part.

285 Jane, sorry to hear about your husband and your struggles. Here's hoping the darkness does not last and we get light soon.

*hugs*

I'm currently stressing about my boyfriends's 6 year old. He has to, by court order, go visit his mom for spring break. Despite the face she lives IN A HOT ZONE. I'm worried the boy will get stuck there and not be allowed out of the state again. My boyfriend is not willing to defy the custody arrangement and possibly lose custody. He's trying to reach the ex to talk about all this and she is not responding, because of course.

If the boy manages to come back, he has to be quarantined from family with health issues, which will be hard to do. It gets really complicated. I love all these people and want no harm to come to them. It is hard watching from the sidelines and having no say and not being able to help.

Prayers for everyone as we sort out the future.

Or musrt we endlessly get more "final" and more "extreme" naming each successive generation?

Owners will seek and close on revolvers and non-revolving lines of credit to move things forward, even in the restaurant industry, and slowly at first but faster later, as long as taxes remain low and the government does not impose strangulating regulations, or crowd out the private sector with make work projects - it will all come back as before. If that means we adopt Yangs UBI for the foreseeable future, then that's what we'll do, If this means that we have to go full socialist until this is past, with only the hope that we can walk it back later, that's what we'll do.

Lockdowns without local daily deaths in the hundreds (adjust however you like for local relevant population totals) won't last because people will just increasingly ignore.

Local officials that try to crack down on ignorers in such low death total circumstances will not last long. Only way lockdowns will stay in actual effect will be if deaths are high.

New York City might be a couple of months on lockdown, but by the end half the people will have moved to somewhere else that is not a hellhole.

The problem is the long incubation period. You get infected on February 1, don't get sick until February 6-10, maybe not sick until Feb 15; and then two-three weeks after that you get hospitalized. In the interim, you infected another 3-5 people, and those 3-5 people infected another 3-5 people that infected another 3-5 people, easily totaling over 100 people in one short month.

Well, WuFlu has come to my little town of Simpsonville, SC. Some jackwagon at the local Home Depot, an employee, tested positive. He (or she, maybe xe or zhe) has probably spread it all over the place.

Now, our local hospital system, calls itself Prisma now, developed a device (based on various hacks) to allow 4 patients to share one ventilator. It's an adapter of sorts with some features that are software controlled. They are 3D printing them now.

548 Well, I'm happy that my School Board member is taking this seriously:

Kimberly and I will launch "QuaranSTREAMs" TOMORROW at 7pm and continue every Thursday and Sunday at 7pm on Facebook and Instagram. These are designed to be interactive "fireside chat" style gatherings to connect folks to what is happening.
Each stream will 1. begin with live sessions offering the most updated information I have, 2. followed by answers to your questions on the spot, and 3. finally with a topic of community interest.
If more information is needed, I will take notes and help provide more information in the following call.
Please visit bit.ly/quaranstreams at those times to tune in. More details will also be posted on my unofficial Facebook and Instagram pages.
We will be providing live resources and Q&A translation of these streams in Spanish, Arabic, and Korean as well.
Be sure to leave comments or let us know what we can focus in on to help. The plan is to utilize a portion of these sessions to offer student support as well.

I'm interested in the Fed provisions in this bill, and whether the measure to allow them to buy stocks directly on the market made it through.

They are already buying corporate debt, using these SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles). Rather than the Fed putting it on their balance sheet directly, they set up an SPV. They lend to the SPV (and buy lending, I mean digitally printing the money) and the SPV then buys up the shit.

This is a trick to prevent distressed shit from officially being on their balance sheet.

Yes. And if the virus failed to penetrate, it would be encouraging for us going in to summer. But they are seeing 20% daily growth, with cases so far only in the hundreds. So it may be that there is a cluster, and it stops here, but it does not seem to be the case.

Fascinating!

THIS is what people should be forced to speak on "Talk Like A Pirate Day" (which I otherwise simply loathe as a fake holiday).

641 538 All I can say, is why can't I run into any of these assholes who want to spread the virus?

I've got a yuge amount of anger backed up inside of me, and going mediaeval on someone's ass would relieve a lot of stress.

That's what I was thinking. If I was walking through the grocery store and saw someone licking the ice cream, well, I'd probably have to spend the night in jail.

No he doesn't which is why he wants Trump to continue the shutdown. Anything, ANYTHING to ruin his reelection chances."

Tell French is this drags on another few weeks, troops will have to be withdrawn from the Middle East. His sugar daddies will tell him to change his tune then.

---------

We should pull all our troops out immediately, starting with Ashcanistan, then Western Europe.

Put them into quarantine for two weeks. Probably need to do it in phases, so DEFINITELY start with Afghanistan.

648 The problem is the long incubation period.

Summer is not going to save us. The reason colds and flus spread more readily in the winter months is because people spend more time indoors around other people. We're already getting less contact with other people than we get in a normal summer.

None, not one. Which is why we are going to hunker down and shelter in place.

Ask DOT

None, not one. Which why we are closing all modes of transportation, even the sidewalks.
