1 Hmm. Is that an actual piece of wood at the bottom or painted on as part of the picture?

29 I've said many times how much I enjoy still life paintings. This one doesn't do much for me. Aside from the way he captured the wood grain there is nothing interesting or outstanding in the work. The arrangement is sparse and the colors rather drab. I get the feeling Wadsworth could be spoofing still life art.

Van der Graaf Generator's mid-70s prog classic, and Opeth's idiosyncratic world-creating progressive-melodic-death-metal late-90s epic. Both albums are brilliant.

Whenever I see the word "conch", I for some reason think of the book "Lord of the Flies".

I have not read that in 25 years or so. Was a conch a big part of the story? I'm thinking that it was, but I can't remember the storyline of it. Used as a way to determine who was the leader? Used to kill someone? Can't remember.

So I'm paying #1 to teach #3. Then I'll check out the progress without vomiting.

Our political leaders and their media enablers are truly awful at exit plans. Is it decades of indefinite war that make them think they can do an indefinite suppression model? No reason economy would improve without an exit strategy, much less a quick one.

Its all risk aversion. The only person who can lead us out of this is the President.

405 Bloomberg, according to NBC News, held an all-staff conference call Friday morning telling employees that plans for the new operation constructed to bolster former Vice President Joe Biden would be discarded because of "how much the world has changed since Super Tuesday." Bloomberg will now be transferring $18 million from his self-funded political committee to the Democratic Party.

The New York billionaire's decision will lay off the rest of his failed campaign's staff, breaking promises made for guaranteed employment through the November election, regardless of whether Bloomberg would end up the nominee.

427 Boating is huge right now in SW FL. I rode the beemer down to Goodland FL and out to the southern end of Marco Island.

Every place with a boat ramp had its lots filled beyond overflowing with SUVs and trucks with empty boat trailers behind.

Running over the bridge to Goodland, looking down Coon Key Pass, it was boats galore. More than I have ever seen.

The tour operators that drag big trailers with a dozen jet-skis aboard were loading out the dripping rigs after the afternoon half-day sessions, everyone standing around in their swimsuits drinking Red Stripe lager.

Guys at the Goodland boat park cleaning all the fish they got down near Cape Romano, saying the trout were the best ones running. Pelicans going crazy fighting for the fish guts. A black-tipped shark came through, like a NY State trooper on patrol, scared away everything, but then left and things got back to the crazy feeding frenzy.

Give her a Democrat crowd and no (known) cameras, and she's a full voiced Communist in everything but public labeling.

She was but 27 when swept into office on the coat-tails of a huge Soros funded GOTV effort, which turned Harris County wall-to-wall Dem insofar as Countywide elected offices.

I have socks that're smarter than she, but she's still dangerous, moreso being in a position of power.

482 Here in Michigan our governor just announced "shelter in place" which on its own is an offensive phrase. Our governor is auditioning for Vice President, which makes her doubly dangerous. Every presser is predominately a chance to smear Trump. Her whole personality is to build herself up by tearing other people down, but today everything is clearer. I remember reading about how difficult winning in Vietnam Nam was because America was trying to flatten an ant by using an elephant. That is what this stupid shelter in place is. Ruining the economy to "save just a life" makes no sense.

The DJIA bottom is going to be 15,000 or 14,000. My grim estimate as of last week. It's at 18.5k as of right now.

If you're money is still in (like mine is, in my 401K), I would leave it in. We are getting pretty close to the bottom. Be ready when it turns. It will probably take at least a year, maybe 18 months, for it to return to 29k or 30k where it was 9 weeks ago.

But the market will turn. It always has.

Right now the bears and the short sellers are pushing the market down.

516 Gretchen Whitmer is a lying slimeball. First she had to go back and review the history of Covid 19 in Michigan in her sing song baby talk since she thinks residents have the understanding of 4 year olds. Then she said that Trump told them on the phone that the Governors were "on their own". which is a bald face lie. It's been proven via other governors that were on the call. She then began to almost cry , saying that the federal government only sent Michigan enough masks, gowns, etc. for one shift at one hospital. Then she went on with talking about the models that say if Michigan stays on this trajectory, over a million Michigan residents will need to be hospitalized for Covid 19, and there is only 100,000 beds in Michigan.

I turned it off at that point, my understanding is this is a three week lockdown. We have already had almost ten days of this crap, because virtually nothing is open.
