The Democrat Debate was a bloodbath. There were a lot of deep, bubbling wounds inflicted. It was kinda glorious. Bloomberg bashes Sanders as a fake socialist with three houses and a million dollars in the bank:
Warren goes to her safe comfortable wooby of #WokeWhiteLiberalFeminist identity politics, blasting Bloomberg as a sexist who hates women:
What he says there in his Schoolboy Spanish is something like, "To the 'Dreamers,' this country is your country too." Note well: The "Dreamers" are not Americans. They are illegal aliens. But he's promising to give them our country. In Spanish, naturally. I don't remember what was going on here, but Klobuchar and Buttigieg plainly hate each others' guts. They're both right.

My favorite debate moments:
1. Joe Biden yelling he's "met with 2 Mexican presidents" and doesn't say their names. No chance he knew them. Then saying he supervised bazillions of dollars in aid to Latin American but that's why they're leaving. 2. Joe suddenly liking tariffs on the Chinese and dirty mongolian coal or something. Land War in Asia stuff 3. Warren wanting to ban fraking. 4. Bernie wanting to redistribute 20% of every corporation and give it to communist workers 5. Bloomy having no answer to NDAs except they didn't like his jokes 6. Criminalizing energy execs or was it killing? 7. Bernie confusing how long he has left with how long the earf has left. 9. Bootygag's giving away the country to illegals. 10. The audience couldn't drown out the hecklers with USA. Posted by: dagny at February 20, 2020 12:10 PM (nRWPy) 57

Ya know - I disagreed with stop and frisk from the first time I heard about it. But, my objections to it are on the grounds of potential abuse, and the precedent it sets for further incursions by LE. I prefer the old, corrupt ways of dealing with this, rather than a spooky new way of making it legal and subjecting everyone to strongarm policing instead of just the known bad elements. I always rejected the assumption by its opponents on the Left that its a racist policy. I think (for the most part) proponents of stop-and-frisk were speaking in good faith, and believed it to be a reasonable and acceptable approach to crime control. I just think that they're wrong about it. But in light of Bloomberg's prior statements, he may be an actual racist. Not just saying that because "their rules." I'm all for Bernie winning the nomination, as long as he loses the general, too. I'd love to see far-left socialism out loud and proud, only to be rejected by the American people.
Unfortunately, I think Bernie may have the best shot of the bunch at beating Trump. "Free everything" paid for by "the 1%" is a tough message to beat. It may have been enough to win in 2016, as the economy was still weak and Trump largely unproven. With the economy doing well and Trump not failing, I think he has the edge still. At one such upscale community, Bill and Jeannie hooked up. It was fun and satisfying and they became something of an item, enjoying each-others "company" quite frequently. One day they had a tee time scheduled, but Bill begged off, claiming illness. Jeannie went ahead without him. After a few holes, she got bored of the golf and went back to her apartment to get some soup for Bill. She put it in a container and let herself in to Bill's apartment. Once inside, she finds him not ill, but rather deep inside Wendy, a woman from one floor up. She cried out in despair, "Why, Bill? Why? What does Wendy have that I don't have?" No one can predict what will happen and it could be as drastic as the party completely shattering and shattering for good. I think their best bet is to accept reality and allow Bernie to become the candidate who takes on Trump. If he loses (very likely I think but not a certainty), they can use it to try and steer everyone back to the neoliberal ranch. If he wins, they can bottle him up in Congress and use the media to beat him down if need be. The so-called "dreamers" are all foreign-born foreigners who came to the U.S. illegally, and remain here under Obama's lawless DACA program. Contrary to mayor Buttplug's contention, the U.S. is not their country, simply because they chose to come and live here illegally, or their parents chose to come and live here illegally. Their country is the country of their birth. We don't allow thieves and bank robbers and embezzlers to keep what they steal, nor do we allow their children to keep what their criminal parents steal, because we don't want to be mean to kids. We enforce the law, and if the criminals' kids suffer for it, that's the fault of the criminal parents, not American citizens. The same principle must apply to illegal aliens. We can't reward them for breaking our laws by giving their kids the fruits of their crimes. It's bad public policy, it's unfair to legal immigrants, it's unfair to U.S. citizens and taxpayers, and it creates incentives for other foreigners to break our laws in the future, in the hopes that their own kids will also benefit. FWIW, there is a specified sentencing range for charges and judges must provide justification for sentencing above or below the presumptive sentence. Apart from the conviction, any sentencing above or below can be appealed to a higher court. My guess is that the judge sentenced in the middle of the sentencing range to try to minimize her exposure on appeal.
Haven't looked into the specifics but my guess is that the prosecutors were asking for a sentence above the presumptive sentence in the guidelines (an upwards departure) which are highly scrutinized by appellate courts. Posted by: whig at February 20, 2020 12:50 PM (EUDB2) 404

If there's a brokered convention where the establishment is going to screw over the activist left, then they're going to be ruthless about it.
Bloomberg's money lets the be ruthless. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, 003 with a License to Kill at February 20, 2020 12:51 PM (q80AH) They're all 'activist left'. They just disagree on strategy. 'Moderates' want an incrementalist approach, to boil the frog slowly. Bernie Bros want Revolution Now. Gulags for us either way. Posted by: troyriser at February 20, 2020 01:03 PM (E2EAq) 427
Stone is a mouth-breathing moron who is responsible for a lot of his troubles. But the clear emergence of a judicial system that punishes one party, and not the other, has eroded any illusion most people had about equal justice under the law. This clearly biased judges words made it even worse.

I just got my 401(k) statement.. a 20% gain for the year! How many other Americans are opening their retirement statements and then looking at the assholes on that stage last night.. and thinking.. "why would I want to fuck this up and elect one of them??" Posted by: Chi-Town Jerry at February 20, 2020 12:46 PM (so+oy) Up 20% since January 1, or in the past 12 months? Suspect it's the latter, which is still great performance. If you're actually up 20% since Jan 1st, that's off the charts.Agree that anyone with anything invested hearing clowns like Warren and Sanders has to be thinking they're a nightmare. There are plenty of Dems with 401ks who don't want their accounts decimated. Toxic combo of calss warfare of identify politics. Berine was talking, maybe it was Warren, about removing billions of dollars in administrative costs from HEALTHCAYA. Does he know that those admin costs are jobs? These people want no one to work. LMAO That debate was a lot of fun, they are all out to fucking lunch, Bloomy was the sanest out of all of them. Homo Doll Robot Mayor Pete, there is just something off about that dude, his AI must have some bad code in there. Posted by: Rev. Dr. E Buzz Miller, Lesbian at February 20, 2020 01:19 PM (Pr5if) 431
